I am so excited to share these photos with you all. Sarah’s part one senior session was last fall. We wanted to wait for nice weather and these beautiful Kiger Mustangs to shed their winter coat. I must say again, how beautiful this young lady is. What a joy to capture these for Sarah and her family!

30 Days of Grateful Project

This is a project inspired by one amazing photographer and an super talented videographer. I watched Sue Bryce and Hailey Bartholomew on Creative Live last month and they challenged the audience to create film for 30 days and edit the film. This is something I have been wanting to do and I am so thankful for a project like this to help me learn new skills. Interestingly, my oldest daughter (15) watched this video and immediately decided that she wanted to learn to edit and make a video similar to this one. I love when something like this sparks an interest in my kids lives. She watched the entire Creative Live Show Reel episode by Sue Bryce and Hailey Bartholomew with me. My daughter was my biggest encourager in doing this project. She would remind me to film, help me with ideas etc. So this is my first experience using the video feature of my DSLR, and my daughters first experience editing a video project to its completion. I am so proud of our dual effort in this project. Enjoy!

Photo Tip Tuesday

Hi all, time for the another Photo Tip Tuesday. There is a time and a place for a creatively tilted horizon. For some photographers it is their style to shoot with a significant tilt and it can look really great. However, the general rule when it comes to the horizon is to shoot it straight. I see many horizon shots on Facebook and most of them are tilted. Actually, all of them are tilted. A glorious coastal day, or sunset photo can be ruined by a tilted horizon. It takes just a few seconds to get it straight in the camera. I think you will be pleased with the results if you make an effort to straighten your horizon.

Valentine’s Gift For You!

I sent a note to a friend this week. She is someone who has influenced me for the better and I wanted her to know how God has used her in my life. In her return note to me she said she loved something I said and wanted it on her wall in her office as a reminder of God’s love. That was the perfect excuse for me to create something. I found a photo of a flower I took this summer and added the quote and printed it for her. Thankfully she loves it! In light of Valentines Day tomorrow I am sharing the love and offering it as a gift to you. Please leave me a comment saying you’d like a copy of this image and I will send it to you. Photo Tip Tuesday

I had the opportunity to take cousin photos at the end of December. Three families, 10 children and grandparents who adore them. This is grandma’s tradition every year. Gather the kids, line them up according to age and take photos. The kids have done this so many times that they are well trained. All I had to do was say “kids, line up!” I can’t tell you how much fun this shoot was. What struck me the most though was how much these cousins love and enjoy one another. What blessings they have in each other.

I had the pleasure of meeting Brianna who is part owner of Bloom Paper Goods. She wanted some photos of her family for her Christmas card, and she knew exactly what she wanted, which was a lot of negative space. So we met downtown and got these shots. I can’t wait to see her card!
