Yet another death linked to the area, the body of an unidentified man has been discovered in Bedok Reservoir. This will be seventh case since mid-2011.

It used to be the favourite jogging spot of yours truly and the most exciting thing that happened there was spotting MediaCorp actress, Felicia Chin.

Why is there such a high occurrence of deaths at this particular reservoir? Is it time for the authorities to do something? Can they do anything? Should they also look at the larger picture, what is exactly prompting all these deaths?

If you’re a regular Internet user, there’s a good chance that you’ve already seen this and something similar on a number of other sites. It is an effort to protest against the US Congress’s move to pass a legislation which is strongly skewed towards the entertainment industry, and if passed, will allow media companies to flagrantly take down any US based websites (pretty much all your favourite sites) on the DNS level. It appears to be something our dear Mr K Shanmugam is onto as well (NO!).

While this sounds like a good idea to raise awareness with the general public on SOPA, it would appears that this group of teens/tweens are absolutely clueless on what is going on, choosing to take their angst and anger to Twitter rather than taking a minute to actually read the text on the blackout page.

With the trains coming to a halt and the lights and air conditioning shutting off, passengers had to resort to smashing the cabin windows to get fresh air.

Eventually, SMRT staff had to lead passengers out along the tracks of the subway tunnels to safety. The disruption was caused by a damaged third rail between Dhoby Ghaut and City Hall MRT stations. The faulty third rail damaged the collector shoes of four trains, which caused all of them to stall.

There were a lot of unhappiness among the public amidst rising transport fares, poor contingency planning on SMRT’s part and what appears to be message to their cab drivers to capitalise on the breakdown.

Just another day grocery shopping at NTUC.

Yue Yue, a 2 year old Chinese girl was minding her own business in the Guangdong province when she was hit by a white van. The driver pauses for a moment before continuing on, crushing the poor little girl for a 2nd time.

What’s worst is what follows as the girl lying there, clearly suffering life-threatening injuries and in need of urgent assistance being callously ignored by several passer-bys who simply went around her.

Eventually, a woman came to her aid, calling for help and attracting the mom’s attention (what took her so long?) before the kid was taken to the hospital. Yue Yue is currently in critical condition with major head injuries and is breathing with the aid of a ventilator.

Your intelligent voice assistant, but can it understand any other languages and my heavy Singaporean accent?

So will you be getting the new iPhone 4S? Not me, not for a (slight?) boost in processor speed, not for +3 megapixels with the camera and most definitely not for Siri.
