This cocktail is very simple, but tasty and nutritious. I've wowed lots of people with this, as it includes a 'superfruit' juice that's very popular. I created this cocktail a few years ago for a catered brunch of about 200 thirsty Parrot Heads - we really had to work to keep up with demand (and yes, we batched in advance and they still downed them at record rates).

The Rum Daddy's Bloody Amazon

Ingredients Needed:

1 part white/platinum rum (may substitute vodka)

3 parts tomato juice

1 part goji juice (goji juice has tomato and umami (soy/meaty) flavor notes; it really goes great with the tomato juice as long as you don't overwhelm the cocktail with it)

Worchester Sauce to taste

Hot Sauce to taste

Dash lemon juice

Lemon or lime wedge

Ice

Directions:

Mix Tomato Juice, Rum or Vodka, and Goji Juice

Add worcester sauce, hot sauce, and lemon or lime juice to taste and adjust (see warning about spices above).

Wet each glass rim with the fruit wedge and use your Barmaid Drink Rimmer to add Hawaiian Black Lava Salt

The color contrast of the rimming spice with the gorgeous color of the cocktail will impress, I promise.

There are a couple of versions of this, but this is the one I like the most: It's a user-friendly version of Master Mixologist Julie Reiner's recipe at the Flatiron Lounge in NYC:

1 part orange liquor (Triple Sec or Cointreau)

1 part fresh lime juice

1 part sour mix

4 parts muddled strawberries (fresh is better, but if the quality isn't there, go with the frozen ones)

Lime wedge

Ice

Lime Tree Cove Chocolate Raspberry Cocktail Sugar

Directions:

Mix Tequila, Rum, Triple Sec, Sour Mix, Lime Juice.

Add strawberries and pour over ice

Shake ingredients in a cocktail mixer or well-sealed container (you don't want to bathe yourself in strawberries - or maybe you do................)

Wet each glass rim with the lime, and then use your Barmaid Drink Rimmer to rim the glass with the Lime Tree Cove Chocolate Raspberry Cocktail Sugar .

The cocoa notes of the rimming sugar join the strawberry and tequila in a luxurious marriage of flavor.

There you have it folks, three delicious brunch cocktails that will wow your quests.

Blackberry season is upon us. No, I am not talking about a new smartphone release. Around the US, blackberries and raspberries are just beginning to come into season, which typically runs from mid July to late August depending on your latitude. Berries of all types are best enjoyed in the summer when they are in season. When mixed in cocktails, these fruits can act as the body as in a frozen strawberry daiquiri or as an additive as is the case with blackberry mojitos. In a mojito, the blackberry flavor compliments the rum, lime, and mint. Additionally, the blackberry provides natural color to the cocktail.

Simple Syrup

Ingredients needed:

2 parts sugar

1 part water

Directions:

Combine sugar and water in a large pot

Bring to a boil while stirring frequently

Remove at once from the heat (you don’t want this to boil over!)

Cool to room temperature

You can use the simple syrup immediately for mojitos. Store the unused portion in an air tight container in the refrigerator for mojitoes anytime. For a lighter version, combine equal parts sugar and water.

Our Nation was founded by patriots, and this day remembers their efforts to create the Grand Experiment that is the USA. Most of those men not only enjoyed spirits, but also had home distilleries of their own. What a country! Here's a festive cocktail with a patriotic presentation. You can line up the glasses and do this in sets to make life easier on you..

This recipe uses: Lime Tree Cove Fresh Lemon Cocktail Sugar

Red White & Blue Cocktail (by the glass):

Ingredients needed:

Clear tall glasses (this works better with tall glasses, but I've used clear plastic cups with some success)

1 lime

Fresh Grenadine (recipe to follow)

Clear Lemon Lime Soda

Blue Curacao

Vodka, Clear Rum, or Coconut Rum

Ice

Lime Tree Cove Fresh Lemon Cocktail Sugar

Directions:

Line up glasses to make it easier.

Fill glasses with ice

Wet the rim of the glass with the remaining lime slice, and use your Barmaid to garnish the rim with Lime Tree Cove Fresh Lemon Cocktail Sugar

Mix part 1 (The Red): 3 parts fresh grenadine with 1 part white rum or vodka. NOTE: Bottled Grenadine may be too heavy for some - fresh grenadine will create a lighter cocktail

Mix part 2 (The White): 1 part lemon lime soda with 1 part coconut rum

Mix part 3 (The Blue):4 parts lemon lime soda with 1 part white rum or vodka and a splash of blue curacao. NOTE: If too much blue curacao is added the blue and white layers will collapse.

Now, you need to pour each part into the glasses slowly in the following order to create the cocktail:

Pour Part 1 The Red: This is the densest of the ingredients, so it should stay at the bottom of the glass when the other stuff is added (this is the moment from high school when your chemistry teacher told you, 'one day, chemistry will save your party!'). Fill the glass 1/3.

Pour Part 2 The White: Pour slowly to allow this segment to float on top of the grenadine. The glass should now be 2/3 full.

Pour Part 3 The Blue: This will be the lightest so it should float on top of the middle layer; pour it slowly and fill up the glass.

Garnish with whatever patriotic decoration you wish (fireworks are not recommended), and wow the crowd!

FRESH GRENADINE is soooo much tastier than the bottled stuff. I like the heavier grenadine, which is made by heating 1 part pomegranite juice with 1 1/2 parts sugar in a saucepan. Stir frequently until all sugar is dissolved, and DO NOT LET THIS BOIL OVER, or you will be facing a cleaning nightmare. You can make a lighter version by adding 1 part sugar to 1 part pomegranite juice and shaking it like you mean it; it will be less dense.
