Authentic Leaders are needed right Now.. Where are you..

No matter what type of Job or Business you have in Leadership 2.0, Authenticity is what will carry you to the next level with others that are around you. When others know that you are vulnerable just like them, and that you have the same feelings, trials and pains, and that you are a human being just like them with faults. People tend to want to connect with you more authentically. However, most of us are Fake and because we can create a persona online, we try to live that out.

Are you authentic when you go to Church? What about at work, or even at the family function? So many of us fake it and are hurting inside and are not truly authentic and real with people around us. Being apart of a few men’s fellowship groups we often speak about being Authentic and real. There are so many people who are fake and would not open up to you because they have either been hurt in the past or they want people to believe they are someone else other than who they truly are because they are afraid they may not be liked, followed, or people join them in Business.

Authentic Leadership

For me, I truly just avoided people who were authentic at all. For some reason I don’t connect with in-authentic people. We just don’t vibe and I usually avoid them, it’s not because of any particular reason, but if I don’t speak to you allot in person it’s because I might have gotten a feeling from you that you are not being Authentic. Now I can be wrong sometimes, but most times I think we all are guilty of faking it.

We want to seem like we are the Best Speakers, Authors, Bloggers, Teachers, Marketers, Husbands, Wives, Dads, Moms, but we are not. We make mistakes and we fail most of the time, but because we live in a society of Perfect, we can’t admit those faults to others.

This year since my blog is moving more toward video I decided to shoot a video for you with my Leadercast 2013 notes. In the video I highlight some of the main speakers at the event. Although I was not able to speak about all of the speakers that were present at Leadercast, you will get a highlight of information that I was able to take down from a few of the incredible speakers.

Tripp Crosby and Michael Hyatt lead Leadercast this year and I must say that I truly enjoyed Michael Hyatt’s takeaways after each speaker. I want to see how closely aligned was his thinking to mine, and as expected, I was not even close. However, my ideas and takeaways should not be the same as his, but on a different place because we will most definitely see and hear, and interpret things differently.

All in all, I would have to say that this years Leadercast was better than the last and I think each year they are going to continue to get better and better and that means we are going to experience the best Leaders in the world. If you are able to take notes from them and learn from their experiences how much more could you ask for in a Leadership conference. I think Leadercast will be my yearly Leadership event, and this time next year I will be writing on my experience at the Live event.

3 Reasons I’m not Embarrassed to take Pictures in Walmart

Embarrassed? Me? Well last year this time I was still in Corporate America working a job that I did not feel passionate about at all. I also had a very low self-esteem and confidence in what I was doing. I wanted to find out what was going to be best for me, and I knew that the dead-end Job that I was in was not going to cut it. I was trying to please others in the profession that I chose and to make sure that I looked like I had it all together to others on my job.

Well I was living one embarrassing lie, and I was truly embarrassed because I thought of how others would think of me when I decided to not be part-time in my Business but to also go Full-time. I was called all the following by family and friends, when I was contemplating going full-time into my business.

• Irresponsible
• Foolish
• Crazy
• Stupid
• Bold
• Dreamer

And you know what last year this time even though I was part-time, I was embarrassed about my Part-Time profession because I thought of what others would think about me and I would be totally sick to my stomach if someone found out. That was until I realized that I did not have to care about what others thought about me. All I had to do was got to work ASAP, and make sure that I did not let my family down.

So how can I take Pictures in Walmart without being Embarrassed?

Its simple, Belief! Most people don’t believe in their jobs, most don’t believe in their ability, their inner strength, God, Jesus, Family, or lastly their Business. Its become apparent to me that the reason why more people fail as Entrepreneurs is because they care about what other people think about them and what they are doing. Well its time you stop being Embarrassed to shine in public. Here are 3 ways to overcome that;

1. I became an Expert on my topic.
2. I Write on my topic and share my best content with others.
3. I Believe in my God-given ability or talent.

This is the main reason why I can take any Picture anywhere with any amount of people around me. I could care less about what they think of me, or what I am doing. If I have been blessed with a Talent, i am going to use that for God to give more people what they want.

How a Spin Class helped me realize something I was missing.

Network Marketing and spin don’t go together, but stay with me as I explain. It was 5AM in the morning and seriously I did not want to wake up out of my warm bed to head to some Girly spin class at L.A Fitness. However, a new partner and great friend on our team wanted me to join him for the next few months at 5AM at the gym, and it included a spin class every Tuesday and Thursday. Now this was not my idea of building a business but I learned something on my first Spin class ever.

Here we go walking into the gym and I am looking at all these spin bikes, and the fear of God comes over me. I think to myself, what in the heck am I doing here and why did I let this dude talk me into doing this stupid class, I really don’t want to do this. However, I kept a smile on my face and headed to the locker room to lock up my bag.

Ready, Set, Go!!! Is all I heard from the spin coach, and I thought to myself, wow I am actually in a Spin class and going to do this. Now where does the Network Marketing come into place. Well the class was grueling for 45mins and guess what? I did not stop, I kept going no matter how much pain I was in. That is one thing about me, no matter the pain I will keep going. Then it HIT ME like a ton of Bricks..

This is how it must feel for those people signing up into our Network Marketing company and Business. They must be scared out of their mind, and really apprehensive. They are asking themselves, Why am I going to join Network Marketing? Can I really do this? Is this for me? Why did this guy get me into this stupid Network Marketing business? WOW! I realized it’s threatening to so many people. It scares them like how this Spin class scared me.

But guess what Network Marketing Teaches you?

You must feel the fear, the unknown and do it anyway. Now it needs to be my responsibility to help the new Network Marketing professional defuse the feelings of fear that they have. Most will continue to question themselves on why they joined, until their feelings are diffused and they are reassured about their decision.

Here are 3 Things I learned:

1. The class was not as hard as I thought (don’t get me wrong I’m dreading Thursday) but I felt better afterward.
2. We need to continuously reassure people of their decisions.
3. Its our job to feel the fear and do it anyway, you will realize its not as bad as you think.

Have you downloaded and completed Michael Hyatt’s Personal vision Life plan? If not, I am going to urge you to do so immediately. The reason is because its going to be a life plan that is going to guide you and your family on important decisions that you need to make and ultimately keep you in line with your plan and vision. I want to share something with you that almost threw me out of my life plan, and I want to share that with you.

My wife and I sat down and decided to go through our life plans, and family personal vision some time ago because as individuals and as a family we needed to have a vision. My mentor Jim Rohn said that if you don’t set your sail and have a plan and vision for where you are going, you are going to take on the life and vision of other people around you. So we wanted to make sure that for our family, we would set specific areas and boundaries that we should not cross or attempt to cross.

Usually on Sunday evenings according to our life plan, we would spend time together with each other and not let anyone or anything besides Church take us away from spending time with each other on Sunday afternoons. With the Profession that I am in as a Full-Time Entrepreneur and Network Marketer I am helping others  via the Internet, Training, Coaching, Teaching and being trained and learning myself on a daily basis and sometimes you are pulled in so many different directions that you find yourself given less time to your family and it can easily happen if you don’t have the following things;

1. Guidelines on when you are going to do what
2. Time periods when you work and when you play.
3. Structured and Organized work periods.

Well, I was asked to go Play Golf with a friend on a few Sundays back, and boy did I want to play so bad. I spoke with my wife about it and she agreed.. I was all geeked and ready to play, then I remembered our Life plan. I would be going against my family vision and principles if I played Golf on Sunday. Now we do have some exceptions to the rule, but it was the principle that mattered.

No Vision because of my own personal pleasure -

Golf was more important than my life and family vision. Did I go against my family vision? Yes I did…and for 9 holes of Golf I thought about it and regretted it. My wife did not mind because she agreed but I felt horrible.. I left after 9 holes instead of playing 18. I took some video footage of this and will share it with you soon.
