Birth and Family background

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born on 7th July, 1981, in Ranchi, Bihar which is now in Jharkhand. Mahendra Singh Dhoni actually belongs to a Rajput family. His ancestral house is at Almora, Uttarakhand.

Young Mahendra's parents moved to Ranchi from Uttarakhand. His father, Pan Singh worked as junior manager in Mecon. Dhoni's sister's name is Jayanti Gupta and brother's name is Narendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni was a great fan of Adam Gilchrist, Sachin Tendulkar, Lata Mangeshkar and Amitabh Bachchan since his childhood.

Schooling and Interests

Mahendra Singh Dhoni did his initial studies from DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali. He was always interested in the sports from the beginning. He played both badminton and football a lot in his childhood. He was very good goal keeper in football and obviously who knew at that time that would be a wicket keeper in cricket.

Because of his goal keeping, a local cricket club selected him as a cricketer. Though he had never batted but because he was a good goal keeper he became a wicket keeper. This was The Commando Cricket Club. He played in this club from 1995 to 1998. He played so well that he was chosen to play the Vinoo Mankad trophy, under 16. He performed well there too.

Worked in Railways Department

In the class 10, he prepared for the Train Ticket Examiner exams and he was finally selected. He also worked as a railway employee for the South Eastern railway at Midnapore from the year 2001 to 2003. His colleagues remember him as a good hearted and sincere person.

Naughty nature

But he was also very naughty. Once he played a prank with his friends while staying in the railway quarters. He wroamed the entire colony while wearing a white sheet. After that event, even the watchman was scared. People that the colony has become haunted.

Progress in the field of Cricket

Dhoni also played in the Bihar under 19 squad and then for the Jharkhand team. It became obvious that if Dhoni is batting than his team is bound to win. He debuted for Ranji Trophy while playing for the Bihar team. He continued to play cricket from 2000 to 2003 and remained a part of Ranji trophy. He also performed well in Deodhar trophy and had scored an awesome century.

Joining Indian Cricket team

BCCI also has a program in which they find good talent from small towns. Then Prakash Poddar, who was the captain of the Bengal team in 1960, saw Dhoni's talent. So the one who had to see it had seen it, and then Dhoni's talent worked wonders.

First he was selected for India and he played so well that our captain at that time, Sourav Ganguly saw him and even Ravi Shashtri had become a fan of his talent. A wicket keeper batsman was needed in Indian Cricket Team at that time.

Many people wanted that Dinesh Kartik should be chosen but finally Mahendra Singh Dhoni was selected for the 2005 tour of Bangladesh. He scored zero in the first match. He ran out and was unable to score anything in his first match. He perfomed badly in the Bangladesh series.

After that, when he was chosen to play with Pakistan, he made 148 run out of 123 balls in Vishakapatnam and also created a new record. This was the highest score ever scored by a wicket keeper.

In a match Sri Lanka had given a target of 299 runs at the Sawai ManSingh Stadium, Jaipur. It was a question of India's honor. Dhoni played 185 balls and made 183 runs. And India won this match. The rest is history.

He gradually became the vice captain of the team in 2007. And then he was chosen captain for T20 games . He was such a brilliant captain in 2007 and the first T20 World Cup was won by India under the captaincy of M.S Dhoni. After that in 2011 India also won the World Cup for One day internationals under the Dhoni's captaincy.

The retirement of Dhoni from Test matches was declared on the 30 December, 2014.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was married on 4th July, 2010 to Sakshi. She is also from Dehradun, Uttarakhand. She was doing her hotel management course when she got married and on 6th February 2015, Ziva was born to them.

Birth and Family Background

Sachin Tendulkar was born on 24th April 1973. His father's name is Ramesh Tendulkar and mother's name is Rajini. His father named his son after his favorite music director, Sachin Dev Burman.

Full name of Sachin Tendulkar is Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. His father Ramesh Tendulkar was a well-known Marathi novelist and his mother Rajini worked in the insurance industry.

The young boy had a different line of thinking. He always wanted to be famous in the field of sport and not music. At that nobody knew that this kid would create a sensation in the world of cricket at such a young age. Sachin Tendulkar's elder brother Ajit Tendulkar encouraged him a lot.

He was also awarded with the "Padma Shri" and "Padma Bhushan" Awards in 1999 and 2008 respectively.

Prime Minister's Office announced the decision to award him with the "Bharat Ratna" (India's highest civilian award) on the date of 16 November, 2013. He is the youngest recipient till date and the first ever sports person to receive the award.

He has also won the 2010 Sir Garfield sobers trophy for cricketer of the year at the ICC Awards in 2012.

Personal Life of Sachin

Major Points of his Journey in Cricket

There was a time, when Sachin used to play alone. And everyone returned to the pavilion.

Nobody can forget the Victory of India in a match against Australia in Sharjah. And very soon, Sachin became a Vice Captain and from a Vice Captain to a Captain. But his captaincy didn't proved to be good for the Indian team. Sachin's senior player, Mohammad Azharuddin said it once that the team would never win under the captaincy of Sachin.

Today we are going to share with you the Biography of Helen Keller. She was a very famous author and also an inspiration for the world. Also being blind and deaf, she achieved many things in her life and her projects are world famous. So without any further wastage of time let's move to the Biography of Helen Keller.

Birth and Family

Helen Keller was born on June 27th, 1880 in Tuscumbia, a small town in northern Alabama. She was a perfectly healthy baby with the ability to see and hear. Her mother Kate, just 23 years old, was a pampered Southern belle who doted on her first child. Helen’s father, Arthur, a Confederate veteran of the Civil War, was 42 when his daughter was born. Kate was his second wife and he had two grown sons from his first marriage. The birth of Helen was a relief to Kate, who now had a child of her own to shower love and attention upon.

Helen was a quick developer, she spoke her first words at the age of six months and took her first steps on her first birthday.

Illness resulted in blindness and deafness to her

However, in February, 1882, at the age of nineteen months, she became severely ill with what doctors at the time called ‘brain fever’. Modern researchers believe she may had Scarlet Fever or, possibly, Meningitis. Whatever the cause of her illness, the local doctor was convinced that the child would not survive. Helen did survive but the illness had robbed her of her hearing and her sight. Her bright, happy world was now filled with silence and darkness.

For the first few months after her illness, terrified Helen would do no more than sit on her mother’s lap and cling to her dress as her mother tried to do her daily house work. Then she began to venture out on her own, first crawling around the room and feeling her way forward. She discovered that her hands could (in a small way), do the job of her eyes, helping her to identify objects and areas of the house.

Her Mother was her first teacher before Anne Sullivan

With Kate’s patient assistance, Helen also developed a crude system of communication; a shake of the head for ‘no’, a nod for ‘yes’, a pull on her mother’s dress for ‘come’. Before long she had incorporated these actions into her ‘vocabulary’ .

If she wanted ice-cream she would pretend she was working the freezer while shivering. Her mother would then rush to give her what she wanted.

Helen proved to be a very determined child. If she set her mind on a task, she would keep at it until she was successful. Her greatest desire was to improve her ability to communicate with others. Making simple signs with her hands was not enough.

She was a kind of rude child with short temper and jealousy

The inability to make people understand what she was thinking and feeling led to a level of frustration that welled deep inside her. This led to outbursts of temper, screaming fits and violent outbursts. Helen’s temper tantrums terrorized the family. She would smash lanterns, thrust her fist in plates of food and claw and pinch whoever was close by.

Relatives referred to the child as a ‘monster’ and strongly urged Kate and Arthur to put her in an institution. In 1885, Kate had a second child, Mildred, a baby sister for Helen. With her mother’s attention now being shared, Helen became intensely jealous. Once she knocked over Mildred’s cot, causing the baby to fall out. But her mother was determined not to send her away.

Her Family tried their best to restore her vision and hearability

When Helen was six, her father learned of a doctor in Baltimore, named Julian Chisholm who had helped restore sight to blind people. The family took the trip to consult with Dr. Chisholm only to be told that there was nothing medically that could be done to fix Helen’s eyesight. But the doctor did hold out a ray of hope. He told the Kellers about a man who specialized in helping deaf children to communicate.

Met Alexander Graham Bell in her childhood

His name was Alexander Graham Bell, he is best remembered as the inventor of the telephone, Bell’s passion was helping the deaf. His mother and his wife were both deaf. In fact, he had met his wife, Mabel, when he had taken on the job as her private tutor, teaching her through a system of signing that he had developed.

The Keller's family traveled to Washington to meet him. Helen felt comfortable with Bell right away. At that first meeting he sat her on his knee and handed her his pocket watch. She was delighted with the vibrations she felt when the watch struck the hour. Bell suggested that the Kellers should write to the Perkins Institute For The Blind in Boston, requesting a tutor for Helen. The Institute trained teachers who could go out and work with deaf and blind students.

Helen Keller's meeting with Anne Sullivan

The director of the Institute looked over his list of recent graduates, settling upon his star pupil, a twenty year old who was, herself, partially blind from suffering trachoma as a child. Her name was Anne Sullivan.

Worker Anne Sullivan arrived at the Keller house on March 3rd, 1887. Helen stood in the doorway as she approached. The child knew, from her mother’s scurried activity that morning, that something important was happening, but she didn’t know what. Years later, however, she would write, "The most important day I remember in all my life is the one in which my teacher, Anne Mansfield Sullivan, came to me."

Helen could hear footsteps approaching. Assuming it was her mother, she held out her hand. Anne took the girl’s hand and pulled her in for an embrace. But when Helen realized that this was a stranger, she struggled to break free. This was the first of many temper outbursts that Anne would be confronted with. The very next day, the student knocked out one of her teacher’s front teeth. But Helen was quickly to realize that Miss Sullivan was not about to let the bad tempered child get away her extremely bad behavior, as had been happening up until then.

Anne Sullivan was the one who changed Helen's behavior

When, at the breakfast table, Helen reached across to grab food from Anne’s plate, as she was accustomed to doing with her family members, Anne grabbed her hand and pushed it away. This sent Helen into a fit of rage. She flopped on the floor and exhibited a full on tantrum. Sullivan asked the other family members to leave the room and lock the door. She then proceeded to continue eating her breakfast, completely ignoring Helen’s performance. Finally, the child got off the floor and felt for Anne’s body to see what she was doing. When she discovered that Anne was calmly eating her food she again began to grab at the plate. But, each time, Anne would slap her hand away. Helen then began pinching Anne’s hand. Again Anne slapped the hand. Finally, Helen sat back on her chair and began eating her own food.

Anne soon came to the realization that Helen’s family members had been enabling her bad behavior. She knew that to make any progress, she would have to separate the child from her parents.

Helen lived with her teacher separately

The Kellers agreed to let Anne and Helen live in a small cottage not far from the main house. Anne wanted Helen to think that they had traveled a long distance from the family, so the two of them set out on a carriage ride that, unknown to Helen, circled back to the cottage.

Helen wasn’t happy to be packed off with her strict new teacher. She spent the first day screaming and throwing things around the cottage. That night, Anne had to hold Helen down for hours just to keep her in bed. The child’s strength and determination were incredible. But Anne’s was just that little bit greater. As the days and weeks passed, Anne was able to slowly bring Helen under control.

She started learning words with the efforts of Anne Sullivan

The change began when Anne started spelling out words on Helen’s palm. The first word was DOLL. The finger play continued and she proved to be an excellent mimic. Soon she was spelling out a dozen three letter words with her fingers but she still didn’t know what they meant.

The breakthrough came on April 5th, 1887. That morning, Anne had been trying to get Helen to understand the difference between the words ‘mug’ and ‘water.’ She took her to the water pump outside the cottage and had the girl hold out a mug. Anne then worked the pump so that water filled it and began to overflow. Then she began to spell the word WATER on Helen’s free hand.

Now, that she had a taste of word meanings but that was not enough for her. She wanted Anne to spell out everything around her. She managed to add dozens of new words to her vocabulary that day. As her understanding of the world grew, Helen’s personality began to mellow and the temper tantrums became less frequent.

Her attitude changed totally when she started reading and understanding words

She came to understand that people would treat her with greater empathy if she displayed a kind, caring personality. With the key to knowledge, understanding word meaning, Helen was able to learn with amazing speed. In just a few months she was reading books in Braille.

Anne was no longer spelling only simple words into Helen’s palm. Now she was signing portions of Shakespeare and the Bible. By the time she was nine, Helen was ‘reading the works of such great poets as Shelley, Longfellow and Oliver Wendell-Holmes. This made her far more advanced, in a literary sense, than most other children of her age.

Helen Got internationally famous before the age of 10

Anne quickly came to the realization that Helen’s ability to comprehend complex ideas was highly advanced. Writing a report to the director of the Perkins School for the Blind, she spoke of Anne’s near-genius level learning ability. But she added that director must not show the report to anyone else. She didn’t want Anne to be turned into a prodigy.

However, the director, Michael Anagnos, saw Helen’s story as an opportunity for reflected glory. He titled the 56th annual report of the Perkins School. Before long newspapers all over the country were writing gushing stories about the child genius who was reading Shakespeare, despite not being able to see or hear. Helen’s story even reached across to Europe, where Queen Victoria was intrigued to hear of the brilliant little deaf and blind girl. By age ten, Helen Keller was an internationally renowned figure.

She learned speaking because of her undying will to learn

In March 1890, she heard about a blind / deaf girl in Norway who had learned to speak with her mouth. She now became obsessed with doing the same thing. Anne Sullivan knew just who could help, that was Sarah Fuller.

Sarah Fuller, the director of the Mann School for the Deaf in Boston, decided to teach Helen herself. She took hold of Helen’s hand and placed it over her mouth to allow the girl to feel the movement of her lips and tongue as she spoke. Helen then copied the motions with her own speech organs. After an hour of intense concentration and effort she was able to speak her first sentence,"It is too warm."

The sound of Helen’s voice, however, was raspy and almost impossible to understand. Her untrained vocal cords would need a lot of practice before she was able to make legible speech. In later years, she would train for three summers under the guidance of a famous music teacher to improve her speaking voice.

She used her sense to touch for hearing purpose

Back home in Tuscumbia, Alabama, Helen and Anne continued to work on speech development. They also developed a method of ‘hearing’ what others were saying. She would place her thumb on the throat of the speaker, her forefinger on their lips and her middle finger on their nose, allowing her to translate the vibrations into sound.

“The Frost King” pushed her in many troubles

In November, 1891, 11-year old Helen sent a birthday present to Michael Anagnos, director of the Perkins Institute. It was a short story that she had written on her Braille slate called ‘The Frost King.’ Anagnos was impressed with the quality of the prose and published the story in the Perkins Alumni magazine. Helen was overjoyed to become a published author.

But her joy was short-lived. Reports reached Tuscumbia that there was a book in print called "The Frost Fairies" by Margaret T. Canby. The story was similar to Helen’s story, "The Frost King". News started to circulate that she had plagiarized the story. When this was explained to her, she was horrified. Reading Canby’s book, she realized the similarities were striking. But she was adamant that she had written her own, original story.

Helen now had become a voracious reader. She would digest one book after another, with no thought for who had written them. Ideas became jumbled in her mind and she was unable to remember if they came from herself or from what she had read. So, when she enthusiastically produced her story, she believed that the ideas were her own. However, a worker at the Perkins Institute had, indeed, read the Frost Fairies to her over a year before. The story had become lodged in her subconscious and was clearly the inspiration for The Frost King. This incident caused deep embarrassment to Helen.

Michael Anagnos was also humiliated by the incident. He had to print a retraction to explain the mix-up. After questioning Helen, he believed that no deliberate plagiarism was involved.

But then one of his teachers reported to him that Helen had ‘confessed’ the wrongdoing to her. The truth was that this manipulative teacher had twisted Helen’s words to make her sound guilty. It was enough, however, for Anagnos to turn against Helen and Anne Sullivan.

He set up a formal hearing in which Helen was interrogated by an 8-member panel. It was one of the most terrifying experiences of the 11-year-old’s life. After a day of tough scrutiny, the panel was split down the middle as to whether deliberate plagiarism was involved. In the end, Anagnos , came to the side of Helen.

“The Frost King” experience haunted Helen for many years to come. Whenever she wrote a sentence from then onwards, she would check it repeatedly to make sure that it was her own, original work.

Travelled many places in the world and attended World's fair

In March, 1893, Anne and Helen attended the Presidential inauguration of Grover Cleveland. From there they went to Niagara Falls where Helen was astounded at the power of the vibrations caused by the massive pounding waters. They then went to Chicago to attend the World’s Fair. They were accompanied by Alexander Graham Bell, who was featuring his telephone at the great exhibition.

The exhibition, which featured exhibits from all over the world, thrilled Helen. She was the only one of the millions of visitors who was allowed to run her hands over the exhibits. This gave her a far greater appreciation of the world round her than anything she had read in books, wetting her appetite to learn more.

Higher Learning of Helen Keller

At the age of 16, Helen began studying at the Cambridge School for Young Ladies, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was now in a class alongside and competing with, girls who could see and hear. Anne Sullivan attended every class alongside Helen, interpreting the lessons. She made rapid progress, completing her first year’s study with honors in German and English.

In her second year, however, she struggled, especially at mathematics. The decision was made to withdraw her from the School and provide her with a private tutor. A year later she was ready to take the entrance exams for Radcliffe College, the women’s division of Harvard University. Passing with distinction, she became the first person with major disabilities to enter an institution of higher learning. Again she had Anne alongside to spell out the lessons on her fingers, but even she had difficulty keeping pace with the fast talking lecturers.

She published "The story of my Life"

Despite this, Helen did well, especially in English. During her second year her literacy teacher encouraged her to write her life story so that the world could get an insight into the struggles she had gone through. Helen worked on the manuscript while also studying, which placed an almost intolerable strain on her.

Finally, in March, 1903,"The Story of My Life" was published. Sales were slow at first but it has gone on to become a beloved classic and was recognized by the New York Public Library as one of the 100 most important books of the 20th Century. It was the first of 15 books that she would go on to write. Helen graduated from Radcliffe on June 28, 1904 to become the first person with a serious disability to earn an undergraduate degree. She now found herself in demand for speaking engagements where people flocked to hear her inspirational story.

Later years of her life and her social works

In 1905, Anne Sullivan married John Macy, who had helped Helen publish her autobiography. The three of them lived under the same roof, with Macy and Helen developing a special bond.

Helen devoted the rest of her life to helping the blind. She wrote extensively on the subject and worked tirelessly for a uniform system of Braille. Along with Anne, and sometimes her mother Kate, she travelled internationally, giving lectures in sold out halls everywhere from Canada to Australia.

During World War 2, Helen was a ray of hope for the thousands of servicemen who were blinded or deafened in combat. During 1943, alone, she visited 70 Army and Naval hospitals up and down the United States.

Last years of her life

In her later years, Helen Keller was widely regarded as the greatest living American woman. In 1964, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Four years later she suffered a heart attack. She died on June 1st, 1968 at her home in Westport, Connecticut at the age of 87 years.

He is the father of modern physics. He was born in Ulm kingdom of Württemberg, German Empire on March 14, 1879. His father's name was Hermann Einstein and mother's name was Pauline Einstein.

He was born into a Jewish family. His father was a scientific utility salesman electrician and mother was a housekeeper. In 1880 the family moved to Munich. In 1894, at the age of 15, Einstein moved with his family to Italy. First they went to Milan and a few months later to Pavía.

Albert attended a Catholic elementary school in Munich from the age of five for three years. At the age of eight, he was transferred to the Louisville gymnasium where he received advanced primary and secondary school education. Einstein himself taught himself algebra and Euclidean geometry when he was 12.

Worked at various positions and did revolutionary works

After graduation, Einstein spent two years in search of a teaching job but he didn't find it. Finally, he got the job of the assistant examiner at the Federal Office for intellectual property at the Patent Office.

In 1905, he completed his thesis which was entitled a new determination of molecular dimensions. For the work, he was awarded a Ph.D. by the University of Zurich. Einstein separated from his wife Mileva in 1914. In 1916 Einstein was appointed as the president of the German Physical Society that he held for two years during this time Einstein also attained membership in the Prussian Academy of Sciences.

Their divorce was final on 14 February 1919. He married Elsa Lowenthal on 2nd June 1919.

He was invited officially by the mayor of New York on April 2nd, 1921 and delivered several lectures at Columbia and Princeton University. Then he moved to Washington DC after that he visited many countries including Singapore, Japan, America, and Belgium to serve his lecture.

Mother Teresa is the founder of the missionaries of charity. Mother Teresa was born on August 26, 1910, in Scotch the current capital of the Republic of Macedonia. Her father's name was Nikollr Bojaxhiu and mother's name was Dranafile Bojaxhiu.

Her father was an Albanian businessman, benefactor and politician and mother was a grocer. Her parents named her Anjeze Gonxhe Bojaxhiu. When she was 8 years old, her father died. She studied in a convent run primary school. Then she joined a state-run secondary school for further studies .She sang in the local Sacred Heart choir in her childhood.

Life before starting working as social worker

In 1928 an 18 years old Anjeze decided to become a nun and set off her Ireland to join the sisters of Loreto in Dublin. There she has the name of "sister Mary Theresa".

Sister Mary Theresa came to India in 1929. She learned Bengali and started teaching in Darjeeling West Bengal at st. Teresa's school. In May 1931, her first religious vows were taken. On May 24th, 1937 she took her final profession of vows and would that acquire the name which the world recognizes her with today "Mother Teresa" .

The next 20 years of her life mother Teresa dedicated to serving as a teacher at the st. Mary's School graduating to the post of the principal in 1944.

The congregation opened its first house outside India in Venezuela in 1965 with five sisters. Then in Rome, Tanzania and Austria. By 1970s the order had reached several countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and United States. Almost 37 children were rescued by her in 1982. These children were trapped in a frontline hospital in Beirut. The first missionaries of charity home was made in the United States in 1984.
In 1991 Mother Teresa went to her homeland for the first time after 1937. She opened Missionaries of Charity brothers home in Tirana, Albania. By 1997 missionaries of charity had almost 4,000 sisters working in 610 foundations in 450 centers in 123 countries across the 6 continents.

The Government of India honoured her with "Padma Shri" award for international understanding and "Bharat Ratna" (India's highest civilian award) on January 25, 1980. Last years of her life

She suffered a heart attack while visiting Pope John Paul the second in Rome in 1983. She died on September 5th, 1997 at the age of 87 at Calcutta, West Bengal, India.

At the age of 12 she decided that she would commit herself to religious life and so she did six years later.

She never saw her family again after joining the religious congregation leaving home in 1928, aged 18, she went to Ireland to join the sisters of Loreto at Loreto. However Theresa took care of her family's graves and even visited them in her declining years.

She kept a Pope waiting in the 1960s. Her work had already gained the attention of church leaders who started calling on her willing to support her projects. Instead of offending the Pope this only made him admire her more for her dedication. He decided to support her cause by offering her the "Lincoln" he'd been driving around and for his trip which mother Teresa accepted and then auctioned it off to raise funds for her projects.

Mother Teresa received the Nobel Peace Prize (the most famous honor) . Hearing that she had been selected by the Nobel Committee she said that she was unworthy. The US President Carter who is one of the nominees himself sent mother Teresa a message congratulating her for the award. Mother Teresa did not forget her life purpose even while standing in the Hall of Fame. She reminded the audience that what she was most aware of was the condition of the poor and she refused the traditional Nobel banquet that has hosted for most recipients as a celebration she insisted that the equivalent of $190,000 be used to help the poor.

In spite of being so liberal and involved with Social Work Mother Teresa had a strong pro-life position. She believed that unborn babies were the weakest of the weak and insisted on how important it was for expecting mothers to be helped and cared for furthermore. In 1994, at the National Prayer Breakfast she even stood in front of US President Bill Clinton saying that she felt that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion because it's a war on the child. A direct killing of an innocent child, murder by the mother herself.

Mother teresa's Kalighat home for the dying raised controversy. Established by Mother Teresa in 1952 in the building of an abandoned Hindu temple, it was a free hospice for the poor people who were brought to the home, received medical attention from the missionaries of charity and the idea was for them to be given the opportunity to die with dignity. However in 1991, after visiting the home Robin Fox (editor of the british medical journal) wrote that the medical care patients were given was haphazard. He explained the personnel had little to no medical knowledge and that serious medical errors related to decision-making, pain management or even diagnose incurable and incurable diseases were systematically made. These aspects were confirmed by other reports as well documenting the situation.

Baptism of the dying was another controversial aspect of Mother Teresa's work. She also got involved in international charities. Mother Teresa made several trips outside of India for humanitarian reasons for example in 1982 she rescued 37 children trapped in a front-line hospital at the height. This was made possible with the help of the Red Cross, whose workers accompanied her through the war zone to the hospital so that she could evacuate the children. She also tried to expand her work to communist countries which unfortunately rejected the missionaries of charity. Furthermore she visited Armenia in 1988 after the 6.8 magnitude earthquake so as to help the hungry in Ethiopia as well as the radiation victims of Chernobyl. In total she operated 507 missions in over 100 countries.

As her health started to decline, it was thought she was under attack by the devil. Mother Teresa's health started to decline in 1983 when she had a heart attack in Rome while visiting Pope John Paul II subsequently when she was hospitalized in Calcutta. Henry Sebastian D'Souza ordered a priest to perform an exorcism with her permission because he feared her problems were due to spiritual matters. Childhood and Family

Rabindranath Tagore was a famous Bengali polymath who reshaped Bengali literature and music. Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7 May 1861 in the city of Calcutta. His father was Debendranath Tagore and mother was Sarada Devi.

The Tagores had an impressive lineage. It dated back to the first group of learned Brahmins that came from Kannauj and settled in Bengal. He was the youngest of his parent's 14 children. He was a Bengali brahmin by birth and his nickname was "Rabi". When Rabindranath was 8 years old, he wrote his first poem. At the age of 16, he published his first large poetry in 1877.

Went to London for studies

In 1878, Tagore went to London. He as a child, joined a public school in Brighton, England. He wanted to become a Barrister. Later, he studied at University College, London. But he had came back in 1880 to India because he didn't did well in school.

Rabi returned without completing his course of studies at London University. While in England Rabindranath had become acquainted with Western Music.

Some of the tunes he had learned found their way into his enchanting play "Balmiki Pratibha" There were other tunes however which came from classical Indian ragas used for the first time in an operatic context Balmiki Pratibha.

Visited Punjab in childhood

When Rabi was 12, Debendranath went on a trip to North India and took the boy with him. The last stop on a long tour was the rest house on Bakrutha (The highest hill and the hill station of Dalhousie) in Punjab. Rabi was told by his father to roam about on his own. He was also taught to rise before the sun And to handle money and keep accounts. The days often ended with the boy singing devotional songs to his father.

Rabi was 13 when his first book of verse "Kobi-kahini" came out. Bijendranath brought him a magazine called "Bharati" when he was 16. The essays included pieces on the European poets Iike Dante and Petrarch whose acquaintance Rabi has made in Ahmadabad in the library.

Marriage

Rabindranath married to Mrinalini Devi. He got married on 9 December 1883 at the age of 22. He had five children Renuka Tagore, Shamindranath Tagore, Meera Tagore, RathindranathTagore, and Madhurilata Tagore.

Managed Family Business of Estates

Two months before the wedding Rabindranath has received a letter from his father in which he was asked to prepare himself to look after the familial estates. In 1890 Tagore began managing his family's estates in Shalida now in Bangladesh. His wife and children joined him there in 1898.

Promoted Hindu and Muslims Unity

Rabindranath participated in one of the greatest political upheavals in the history of India.

In December 1903 was published the decision of India's Governor-General Lord Curzon to split up Bengal into two provinces. The idea was to create a separate province with a Muslim majority which would induce a rift between the two main religious groups and avert the possible growth of a united front against the Govt. But in proposing the partition Curzon merely fanned the flame of patriotism that had been smoldering in the minds of certain visionaries all through the period of the renaissance in Bengal. These men now came to the fore and led the millions to rise in protest.

Tagore led a protest in which Hindu and Muslims were told to tie Rakhi on the wrists of each other. The series of steering patriotic songs that Rabindranath composed to the occasion were sung into session in the streets of Calcutta. With the poet himself in the lead on October 16, 1905, the partition became an accomplished fact.

Started School for children

Rabindranath had been worrying about the education of his children and he decided to start an experimental educational institution in Shanti Niketan. It was to be a school but not like the school that had been the nightmare of his own childhood. It was to be like the forest hermitages of classical India But to bring it into being was not an easy task, For one thing, it costs money.

Rabindranath was obliged to sell amongst other things like the copyrights of his books, his wife added her bit by selling her wedding ornaments.

Pursuing the noble idea of international cooperation Rabindranath gave the school at Shanti Niketan a new status. "Where the world becomes a single nest" was the motto of the "Vishwa Bharati".

Beginning of personal tragedies

Two months after the school was opened his wife was taken ill. Three months later at the age of 29, she died. For Rabindranath, it was the beginning of a series of personal tragedies. 9 months after his wife died, his second daughter Renuka passed away. The hardest blow of all came 4 years later youngest son Samindro took after his father in many ways. He was only 13 when he fell victim to cholera.

In introducing the poems to a gathering of English writers and Intellectuals Yeats said, "I know of no man in my time who has done anything in the English language to equal these lyrics. Even as I read them in this literal prose translations they are exquisite in style and thought." Gitanjali was published in England in the same year There has rarely been another instance of a poet gaining world fame in like manner.

Death and Personal Life

He died on August 7th, 1941 in Kolkata India at the age of 80. Tagore traveled across the vast estate. He was a poet, novelist, theorist, painter, music composer and a true Indian. He became the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. In 1930 Tagore wrote around 2230 songs, 2,500 paintings and drawings. He felt that world peace could only be achieved through intellectual cooperation between nations.

Gulzar's talent was recognized by legendry film maker Bimal Roy. "When ever I held your hands I have seen.People say that it is just the lines of the hands.I have seen the two fates getting united."

This story is famous that Gulzar sir was very fond of reading and writing. He read many writer's work. Due to which he got friendly with many writers and artists. One such friend of him took him to Bimal Roy. That time music director S.D.Burman and lyricist Shailendra had a fight. And film maker Bimal Roy was very upset.

Starting the career

It was decided that Gulzar must write lyrics on SD Burman's music.

He wrote his first song "Mora Gora Ang Laila." This song was released in 1963. This Bandini song was appreciated a lot by audience. By then SD Burman and Shailendra again became friends.

Gulzar was removed from the movie. But Bimal Roy stood by Gulzar. He told Gulzar to work as his assistant. He told him that," I don't want to see an artist like you work in a noisy garage. You have talent in you. This you have proved in your first song itself."

Hearing this Gulzar sir started to cry very badly. While working with Bimal Roy, Gulzar became friendly with RD Burman. By then he got introduced to Hrishikesh Mukerjee too. That time Hrishikesh Mukerjee was working as an editor. Later on he became director. Gulzar remained with him.

Hrishikesh didn't used Gulzar just as lyricist. He used him as dialogue writer too in film "Anand" and "Namak Haraam". Gulzar wrote such wonderful dialogues that people still remember it.

Gulzar is one writer who has got connected with all generations. It can be his "Mogli" song . It may be famous Mirza Galib's serial made for television. In both these Gulzar's talent got connected with the common man.

Coming to Gulzar sir's personal life. He got married to famous actress Rakhee. From that marriage they have a daughter. Her name is Meghna Gulzar. She herself is a film director.

Gulzar and Rakhee's relationship didn't last for long. They both decided to separate. That is what happened. Gulzar has kept his daughter Meghna's name as "Bosky". He has named his bungalow as "Boskiana". The meaning of which is where Bosky stays. Gulzar sir's bungalow is in Mumbai's Pali Hill area.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is also known as Mahatma Gandhi. He was the leader of Indian Independence Movement.

Childhood and Family

Gandhi was born on 2nd October 1869 to a Hindu family in Porbandar, Gujarat in British Indian empire. His father's name was Karamchand Gandhi and his mother's name was Putlibai Gandhi. His father was Diwan of Porbandar state. Mohandas had total three siblings that were two sisters and one brother. In childhood, he grew up to be a very shy child. At school he was not a brilliant student.

Married life and visit to England

In May 1883 when he was 13 years old, he got married to Kasturbai Makhanji Kapadia. While his wife was 14 years old at the time of marriage. They had four children.

At the age of 19, Gandhi went to England in 1888 to become a lawyer. He started to practice law after returning to India from South Africa in 1891 and then went to South Africa to work in a law firm. There he saw Rampant Acts of racism and discrimination. These acts angered him greatly.

Once he was asked to leave first class section in the train just on the basis of his color. Once he was also asked to remove his turban. These incidents angered him greatly and lead to generation of spirit to fight for social justice within him. He spent over 20 years in the country. He aimed at molding the Indian community of South Africa into a unified political force.

Joining Indian National Congress

Gandhi returned to India in 1915. He joined the Indian National Congress and by 1920 he established himself as a dominant figure in the Indian political scenario. His followers gave him the title of "Mahatma" which means great soul. He called all the Indians to unite as one irrespective of the divisions of religion, caste and creed in the country's fight for independence.

Started Non Corporation Movement

In 1921, He started non-cooperation with British rule, that resulted in the boycott of British goods in favor of Indian made products.

He was also made the leader of the "Indian National Congress". This party was fighting for the independence at that time. Gandhi was arrested on 10 March, 1922 tried for Sedition and got imprisoned for two years.

In 1930, as a British government imposed tax on the salt, Gandhi took a 400 kilo metres March to seashore called Dandy. So as to show the protest he made salt with his own hands. He was joined by thousands of followers in the symbolic act of defiance against British rule. This campaign proved to be one of his most successful acts at upsetting British hold on India. Britain responded by imprisoning over 60,000 people.

Role in Independence of India

The second world started in 1939, at this time Gandhi thought it to be the right time to force the Britishers to quit. He started a moment in 1942 named as "Quit India movement". He ggot imprisonment for two years. He released before the end of the war in May 1944.

By the year 1947, the British government has enough troubles to seek in India and England so they decided to leave India but only after dividing it into two countries that is India and Pakistan. India got independent but it was not a result of peaceful process. It led to violent clashes between the Hindus and the Muslims. Gandhi repeatedly went to the hunger strikes so as to restore peace among the people.

Death

On 30 January 1948, as Gandhi completed a two-day hunger strike in New Delhi he was shot dead by a Hindu nationalist called Nathuram Vinayak Godse at the age of 78. He established principles of truth and non-violence.

Sundar Pichai was born on July 12, 1972, in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. His father's name was Regunatha Pichai and his mother's name was Lakshmi Pichai. His father worked as an Electrical Engineer and his mother used to be a Stenographer before having children. He has one brother whose name is Srinivasan Pichai. He grew up in a middle-class home. He was an excellent student.

Pichai was sure that search tool has no future because choosing a search every time while browsing is not convenient for anyone and he developed Chrome as a solution of this problem.

Before developing Chrome, he discussed his idea with his seniors and faced an objection from CEO of that time Eric Schmidt who thought that developing a browser would be a too expensive affair.

He played a pivotal role in the ultimate launch of the browser Google Chrome. However Pichai persevered and convinced the co-founders of Google, Larry Page and Sergey Brin to launch Google's own browser, which went far ahead of the coming in very less time. The experienced Chief Executive had no patience for Jobs' controversial and demanding management style. And after 2 years, they had no time for each other.

In a boardroom meeting, Steve Jobs was fired from the company that he founded. His dismissal at Apple, ignited a fire in Jobs. One that burnt for the remainder of his career.

Life after getting fired from Apple

Jobs Bought Pixar. Just a year ( in 1986 ) later, he purchased a struggling animation studio (Pixar) from Star Wars' mastermind, George Lucas for $5 million. It bled money for over 10 years that was the personal money of Jobs. Jobs spent his money until a fantastic 1997 hit, which was the movie, "Toy Story".

"NeXT 's failure and joining back in Apple

Likewise, he created another company, and called it "NeXT" with specialised high-end workstations for the business community. However, it was a commercial failure and NeXT bled money until it was purchased by Apple a decade later, bringing Steve Jobs back to the company that he built.

Over the next few years, Jobs went from a small position at Apple to the company's interim CEO and eventually taking on the position full-time.

Steve Jobs' second period at Apple, produced many of the company's more successful devices, from the iPad, to the iMac that Jobs led Apple went ahead of its previous milestone and grew into the biggest company in the technology sector. Battle he fought with cancer and death

After being diagnosed of a rare form of pancreatic cancer , jobs denied to have a surgery to remove the tumor and delayed that surgery for 9 months. He preferred to go with alternative medicines and some kind of special diet.

His decision of delaying the surging also added to his situation making it worse in future.

However, early in 2009 reports started circulating about Jobs' weight loss. Some predicting his health issues have returned. Jobs had responded to these concerns by stating that he was dealing with hormone imbalance.On September 9, 2009, Jobs delivered a keynote address at an invite only Apple Event.

Later, on October 1st, 2011, Apple sadly announced that its co-founder had passed away after battling pancreatic cancer for nearly a decade. Steve Jobs died in Palo Alto when he was just 56 years old.

Steve Jobs said : "I was lucky. I have found what I love to do early in life when I was 20. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. And don't settle."

At that time MS-DOS system was in use and it was based on keyboard and text commands.

Gates announced about graphic based interface system even before the company started working for it. He said Microsoft is working on a system that will be based on graphics and a mouse will be used to give mostly commands to the system.

Almost 30% of the total computer market was using the MS-DOS system at that time.

When Microsoft launched WINDOWS , it looked similar to the Macintosh system used in Apple Computers.

Elon Reeve Musk was born on June 28, 1971 to Maye Musk and Errol Musk in Pretoria, South Africa. His mother, Maye was and is still a model originating from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. His father, Errol was a South African born electro-mechanical engineer, sailor, and pilot. He also has a younger brother and sister.

All about his childhood and studies

At the age of seventeen, Elon left South Africa to attend Queens University in Ontario, Canada. This was in part to avoid mandatory service in the South African military as required after high school.

As a child, Elon accelerated quickly in learning and reading. By the age of 10, he was learning basic computing and at the age of 12 , he developed and sold a game for the Commodore VIC-20 called "Blastar" for 500 dollars.

Elon has also cited Isaac Asimov's "Foundation" series of sci-fi novels as a strong childhood influence. In the novels, author Isaac Asimov illustrates the story of a scientist and a form of science called "Psychohistory" in which the researcher predicts future societal events and catastrophes by studying patterns of the past.

Had to face bullying

During this time and up until Musk reached the age of fifteen, he was bullied severely by many of his classmates and peers.

He was quoted on the subject saying, "For the longest time, I was the youngest and the smallest kid in the class because my birthday just happens to fall on almost the last day of school acceptance you into school, June 28th. And "I was a late bloomer."

So he was the youngest and the smallest kid in class for years and years.Other students bullied him. Thats why he started to pursue Karate, wrestling and Judo in order to defend himself. Eventually, he was fighting back against his aggressors and they soon left him alone.

His relationship with his father was also in poor shape at this time. Elon has recalled his father verballing berating him in the time leading up to his departure from college to go to Canada. He would call him an idiot and telling him that he would never make it.

His parents divorced in 1980. When Elon did eventually move, however, it wasn't long before things started to look better for him.

He arrived in Canada in 1989 and began classes at Queens. After his time in Canada, Musk left to study Business and Physics at the University of Pennsylvania in 1992. After graduating with an undergraduate degree in Economics and staying for a second bachelor's in physics, he moved on for further education.

He enrolled in and began classes at Stanford University in California but after only two days, he decided to drop out.

Start-up as an Entrepreneur

His move to California had been timed perfectly with the internet boom of the mid to late 90s and in 1995, he and his brother Minbal Musk founded tech startup, "Zip2". This company created and sold city guides to newspaper publishers, including "The New York Times" and "The Chicago Tribune".

In February of 1999, Zip2 was sold to "Compaq" for 307 million dollars and 34 million in stocks. At the age of 24 years, with 7% of the sale, Elon Musk had just made 22 million.

Later in 1999, Elon founded 'X.com'. The website offered an online money transfer service via email. Not long after, in 2000, 'X.com' merged with 'Confinity' another online money transfer service.

Under the 'Confinity' umbrella was a service they called 'PayPal' which the company was later renamed to. Elon was pushed out of his CEO position in 2000 due to internal disagreements.

This turned out not to be so bad for Elon as "Ebay" later acquired 'PayPal'.

Elon Musk was the company's largest shareholder with over 11 percent, allotting him roughly 165 million alone.

Following his dream by investing in Space-x

Utilizing his new found fortune, Elon proceeded to found another venture, this time closer to his heart. Space-X, or Space Exploration Technologies Corporation, was founded in 2002.

By 2008, the company was awarded a contract for cargo transportation to the International Space Station by NASA. And in 2012 Space-X did just that.

Their fledgling rocket, "The Falcon Nine", was launched from Cape Canaveral early that year. The rocket contained half a ton of cargo for the astronauts on board, making history as the first ever private company to send a rocket to space. Since then, Space-X has launched over 60 more rockets privately and commercially. But we will get back to that soon.

Founded Tesla Motors

One year later in 2003, after founding Space-X, Elon set his sights on the motor industry and hopped on board with Tesla Motors during their series A financing round. The company was originally incorporated by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. Martin was later pushed off of the board of directors following the 2008 financial crisis which lead to internal conflict at Tesla.

He took the chair as the company's CEO after Martin's Departure.

He laid off 25% of Tesla's employees, and borrowed almost half a billion dollars from the US government in order to save the company from bankruptcy.

Tesla went public in 2010 when sales for their yet to be built 'Roadster' started. They were the first American car company to have gone public since the Ford Motor Company in 1956. But again, we will get back to this later.

Musk either personally or through these companies has been involved in a great deal more ventures as well. In 2006, he conceptualized and funded 'Solar City' which was then run by his cousins Peter and Lyndon Rive. In less than eight years,

"SolarCity" was the second largest provider of solar tech in the US. Tesla has since absorbed the company which operates as a subsidiary under them.

In 2013 , Elon announced that he intended to build a high-speed transportation system that he called "the Hyperloop". He wanted to have his first underground pressurized super train run from the Greater Los Angeles area to the San Francisco Bay area.

Musk has also been involved in the creation of two artificial intelligence based companies, 'OpenAI' in 2015 , and 'Neuralink' in 2016. The former of which is a not-for-profit.

Later on, in 2016, Elon announced "The Boring Company" . The intent of the company was to create new industrial tunnel boring technology because the current cost per mile of drilling made his HyperLoop tunnel economically unfeasible.

He tweeted on December 17th, 2016, that he was "going to build a tunnel boring machine and just start digging."

Vision of living on Mars

Elon Musk is many things: he's been called a genius, compared to Marvel's "Tony Stark", and has claimed to dream of living on Mars one day. But evidently, above all, he is someone who gets things done.

Let's jump back to Space-X. Following their first government contract, Space-X continued to launch its rockets out of our atmosphere. They soon also successfully launched a satellite into Geosynchronous orbit. But this wasn't the only intent of Space-X.

Musk has a vision of colonizing Mars and part of his initial reasoning behind founding Space-X was to do just that.

In September of 2016, Space-X published a video of 3D renderings depicting their intended mission to Mars. Elon was quoted as saying, "I think that a future where we are a space bearing civilization and a multi-planet species is very exciting." He went on, "In order for that to happen, we've got to dramatically improve the cost of space flight."

The concept he envisioned required reusable rockets. And because Space-X is private, they do not have to adhere to the same level of red tape that government organizations generally have to follow. Space-X also manufactures around 90% of their parts by their own. Space-X can manufacture and launch a Falcon Nine rocket for under 300 thousand dollars. The fuel alone per launch costs Two hundred thousand dollars.

Space-X hasn't slowed down either. On February 6, 2018 they successfully launched the 'Falcon Heavy' rocket from NASA's Kennedy Space Center. In a glamorous display streamed live on YouTube, Space-X showed off their larger than 140 thousand pound payload capability by unveiling a Tesla Roadster in earth orbit.

This stunt instantly bolstered the Falcon Heavy's status to that of the most powerful operational rocket on the planet.

They've also announced plans to build a new rocket, which they've called the 'BFR' for 'Big Falcon Rocket.' It's intended to stand at over 100 meters tall and carry over 550 thousand pounds. Today Space-X is the largest private producer of rocket engines in the world and holds the world record for thrust to weight ratio in a rocket.

Tesla's Success

Tesla meanwhile is also making great strides in the motor industry. Following their fledgling vehicle, the Roadster, Tesla released the 'Model S' sedan type car in 2012. The announcement of the 'Model X' SUV style vehicle came shortly after. However, its release was delayed until 2015.

Tesla revolutionized the entire world of electric cars, when they entered the market. Other companies in the past have tried and failed to do what Tesla has achieved in recent years.

One of the biggest hurdles to overcome that their predecessors hadn't been able to leap was the car's range on a charged battery. Tesla's offer a 250 mile range per charge which helped consumers begin to wrap their minds around the concept of electric cars.

On top of that, the Model S is a desirable sports car boasting an acceleration rate of zero to sixty in 2.5 seconds.

Its electric engine gives the car a torque advantage over most traditional engines allowing the Model-S to outperform many cars far beyond its price. Musk also has plans to create a car for the masses.

The 'Model 3' is intended to have a base price of 35 thousand dollars according to Tesla's blog. Even more interestingly, Elon stated in 2014 that Tesla would provide any of its technology patents in good faith to corporations with the intent of creating more affordable electric car solutions for the world

Elon Always like to be on top whether its News or Competition

Elon Musk has also derived a great deal of attention around himself as a person, both negative and positive. Many of the videos and posts about him that are abundant on the web herald him as a genius with a plan to save humanity, and in many ways it can seem that way.

He has an obviously strong motivation to push for more green forms of transportation, both on the road and in space.

Combined with his home battery initiative, the future can feel greener. Interestingly, despite being involved in numerous AI based or related companies, Elon has been a strong opponent of developing hyper intelligent artificial intelligence.

He has been interviewed and has spoken about his fears of robotic uprising multiple times. He's not been free of controversy either.

In 2008, Musk appeared on the very popular 'Joe Rogan' podcast, which is streamed live on Youtube. During the two and a half hour long interview, Musk puffed on what was described as a combination of tobacco and marijuana offered to him by host, Joe Rogan.

Following the interview, Tesla stocks dropped and worries of a United States Air Force investigation in regards to his ties with Space-X started circulating the web.

Following that, on the 7th of August that year Elon allegedly tweeted while driving, "Am considering taking Tesla private at $420." This shocked many people, namely the company's shareholders. By August 24, Elon abandoned the plan.

He was also criticized in media for his attempted involvement in the crisis of the trapped children in a Thai cave system in June 28.

Musk tweeted about creating a submersible tube to assist in the evacuation of the children but when his plans were presented to the divers at the scene, they were quick to dismiss its viability. Musk's response was to personally attack the diver in question with an unwarranted accusation. The diver in question has since filed a lawsuit against Mr. Musk following further battery on twitter.

From a colony on Mars to mechanical implants in humans to interface with computers. The future of both Tesla and Space-X also both seem bright, not to mention the boring company. Only time will tell what is in store. From rocket ships in space to high performance electric sports cars, Elon Musk has gotten the world's attention.
