Installation

Bitmeter Desktop Client : Download this package, unzip it. Access the unzipped directory via command line and run the file like below:

wget http://codebox.org.uk/downloads/bitmeteros/pythonclient
cd ~/Downloads
unzip BitMeterOSPythonClient
cd bm
python main.py

That’s it !

Usage

You can use Bitmeter using a web browser, or you can install the experimental Desktop Client that gives you real-time view of your bandwidth usage right on your desktop. We personally prefer the Web browser option as it is more detailed and stable.

The daily image for Ubuntu 14.04 is here. If you want to see the changes in Ubuntu with Unity, simply download a daily-live image from above link and run the same in Virtual box. We will not suggest you do a dedicated install in your regular machine, though it is stable than before, still has glitches.
