This isn't a New Year resolution post, oh no, I don't do resolutions as they're for breaking.

This is more of a picking up where I left off last October.

What is it about the winter that makes you want to laze around and eat?! Maybe it's a lack of sunlight or that the shops are stocked full of too many nice things.

Anyway I decided a few days ago that it's time I start getting myself in order again after I noticed my belly starting to look like jelly :(

I'm a firm believer that you are what you eat, and that it shines through your body.

I am reasonably healthy as I'm a vegetarian and have been since the age of 13. Though I do have to watch my iron levels and did become anemic back in 2009-2010, which wasn't a fun experience. Since then I have taken iron supplements (mainly in liquid form).

Even though I try to eat healthily it doesn't mean I don't eat what I want, and that's why I try to do both of these DVDs when I have time (or I make the time).

The Tracy Anderson Method Mat workout is a really good DVD for working out your muscles at different angles. I work muscles I never knew existed with this DVD. I'm not really looking to lose weight, more to tone and be slightly more defined in certain areas :)

I also mix it up with the 10minute solution - Pilates perfect Body DVD. I'd never tried any pilates until I tried this dvd and I can tell you that as soon as you start pilates you will feel your posture becoming better and you will feel stronger, which I guess is due to working the core (as that's what pilates is about).

Both DVDs are set into 10min sections, which I find really handy when you're in a rush or feeling too tired to do a whole 30min workout.

I don't really know enough about fitness to say much more, however I did find when I was using these DVDs a couple of months back that mixing up the sections a bit gives great results.

My favourite sections on the Tracy Anderson DVD are the; standing legs, standing abs and arms workout with weights. Then my favourite Pilates Perfect sections are; pilates perfect belly, perfect buns& thighs and perfect silhouette sections.

I'm also trying to get back into the swing of making green shakes again, "ugh" I hear you say and yeah it can be unpleasant sometimes, but once you start drinking them quite often you get use to it :)

Green shakes are meant to give you an energy boost, plus it's good for you :)

To make a green shake I usually mix spinach, green apples, celery and anything else I can find.

In the smoothie below I used: Spinach, Kiwi Fruit, Pear, Pineapple Juice (still counts as one of your five a day) and I also added a Gala Apple.

I first read about green shakes in Womans Health when Rosie Huntington Whiteley was on the cover, she mentioned that she drinks them.

Though for the one she drinks she adds five fistfuls of spinach, three stalks of celery and three apples, and well if it's good enough for Rosie, it's good enough for me. :P As she does have an amazing body.

Essie - Demure Vixen Swatches

It would seem I go for purple/mauvey colours like a magpie to shiny things.

I was browsing Zuneta looking at their sales on Christmas day and Essie's Demure Vixen was down to just £6 and so I ordered it, along with a New CID makeup case (which I'll post about on a later date). For now I just wanted to post some pictures of Demure Vixen.

Coat and Jacket Haul.

Happy New Year everyone, I hope you have all been blessed with a good start to 2012 :)

I just wanted to post about a coat and jacket I have bought in the last week.

The first one is a coat I bought in Topshop on sale, it's a waxed coat something I've been after for some time :)

Since I live in the Welsh countryside with lots of sheep, mud and crappy weather I thought it was time I bought something country style'ish, I need wellington boots next.

I thought it was a good price down to £40 from £85, and it was the last in my size :)

So here is a pic of me wearing it and some solo shots.

I love that this coat feels that you can wear it out in the country having a little stroll or you can wear it shopping without looking scruffy.

The fur collar can be taken off which is a bonus, as I know I can wear it during the rainy spring months but at the moment I like wearing it with the fur collar so I can feel a little glamorous and warm.

The belt also gives it a nice structured, put together feel which I found other waxed coats/jackets did not have.

The jacket I bought was quite different for me, I don't really wear many blazer type jackets (I use to, but not so much lately) however it was more of the colour that was alien to my jacket wardrobe.

I didn't intend on buying one, it was more of an impulse thing and I'm glad it happened :)

Waiting in the queue in H&M there was a pile of pink jackets on the table all laid out, and they caught my eye and I thought to myself 'they're cute'. Then I saw that they were just £14.99 and I grabbed one and took it to the checkout without thinking.

It's quite a striking pink, but I love it I think it will look really nice during the spring summer months.

I think I'll probably pair it with something studded to harden it up a bit.

What I also love is the spotty lining inside, so cute.

Speaking of Welsh weather I thought I'd just pop some phone shots in that I took over a week ago, so you'd get the idea,lol.

I got my hands on Bioderma Sensibo H2O

A couple of weeks ago just after blogging about the Lierac Cleansers I noticed they were becoming empty, so panic hit me. I decided I needed some Bioderma, I've been itching to try it for yonks and my mind was made up that I'd have it. Fast!

Luckily I found some on Ebay and not badly priced, and it arrived quickly and I got to using it that night like an eager beaver :p

I'm not really sure where I first came to read about this amazing stuff but I'm so glad I heard about it. All I do know is what I've read and that is that models use it backstage at shows and it is apparently readily available in French pharmacies ( I want French pharmacies in the UK).

The reason that models use this cleanser is that it's gentle, removes every scrap of makeup and it's I guess an all in one :) So no need to rinse off.

I've been using it for say over a month now and I have noticed that I haven't had any imperfections (the kind that pop up every damn month, ugh) so I'm not sure if that's hormonal or the cleanser.

I've always been a person into gentle cleansing, as I think that cleansers and toners that strip the skin back always end up in the skin overcompensating by making too much oil to replace what's been taken away.

I did believe that the Lierac cleansers were amazing (and still think they are good) but I find Bioderma Sensibo H2O better at eye makeup removal, more convenient and a little goes a very long way (something that the Lierac cleansers did not).

Okay I feel like I'm raving about this stuff too much now, but all I have to say really is if you have the chance to try this stuff take it.

Also being the skincare freak that I am my mum bought me a Sonicare for Christmas,lol. So I'll probably be writing about that very soon, even though I only use it every 2days at the moment while I get use to it.

Half Price Lush Goodies, YES PLEASE!

Hello lovelies, I hope you all had an amazing Christmas :)

I have to say mine was probably the nicest I've had in years.

I wanted to blog about what I received for Christmas however I thought I'd show some Lush items I bought half price in the sales.

A couple of months back I bought the Glogg shower gel, it was my first experience of it and I'm totally in love with it. I feel that I can shower in a warm mulled wine, with the comforting smell of cinnamon, it's just divine. This shower gel makes me want Christmas to be every week just so this shower gel never goes out of season. I'll definitely be purchasing it next year, if Lush make it again.

As I was just after sale items when I popped into Lush (trying to save the old pennies) I noticed Charlotte Island was half price. I'd fancied trying this for sometime however as I don't really wear fake tan (too pale) I never thought there'd be any point buying it. The half price sticker made me buy it though this time. I have yet to use it (well only tested on the back of my hand) but I will probably use it for nights out and in the summer, I know I have it now if I need it. I must add it has a lovely fruity smell, yummy.

When popping my items onto the counter I ended up playing around with the lip tints. Celebrate ( a pink champagne flavoured and coloured lip tint) and Chilli Tingle ( an orangey/red coloured lip tint) were the two tints that took my fancy.

When I returned home and saw the gold lustre stuff in the tin of celebrate I sort of wondered if it was meant to be there,lol, then I realised it was. I do find that it looks pretty, but it can make application a bit tricky as I ended up with a big blob of gold on my lip, hehe. Celebrate does give a lovely soft pink shimmer though, I really like how it looks on.

Chilli Tingle I found to be slightly intimidating though, I imagined having red smeared all over my face ( something that happened with the blistex lip tint when I was in secondary school, but I was more naive then) I do like how Chilli Tingle looks on lips though, it gives a sheer coral tint.

I must add that even though these tints are lovely I don't find them at all moisturising enough and I do apply Lush Honey Trap before application.

Hi I just thought I'd do an outfit of the day as I haven't done one in a very long time.

Today I went out for a meal and coffees with my close friends. There was a lot of messing around and laughs and it really made my week :)

It's been snowing a little in Wales so a cosy knitted dress from H&M was very apt as keeping warm was of importance, I hate being cold. Brrr...

I teamed it with thick tights, a warm parka and furry snood and boots (kinda sounds like puss in boots).

Anyway here are some pics.

What also made me happy was buying Benefit's Hoola Bronzer :)

During the summer I bought Dandelion and it has been my HG blush since, however I'm looking a tad more ghostly pale than usual (if possible) so I thought I need a little bronzing.

New hair colour and some L'oreal.

Hi, I'm trying to keep this blog more updated than it has been, so i just thought I'd blog about my new hair colour =)

As you may know I have had a lot of colours on my hair of late, red, brunette and blonde and this caused a lot of damage to my hair :(

However I have now decided to go back and stay my natural medium blonde colour. So with a little help from my hairdressers she was able to match me to a colour and applied a semi-permanant dye as she didn't want to damage my hair any further.

The plan was to go a Rosie Huntington Whiteley blonde.

However it couldn't be done straight away.

The plan is to have some highlights added to the underlayers of my hair in a couple of months as I need my hair to repair itself a little before damaging it further, and to let my roots to grow out so I get the slight ombre look Rosie has going on.

So here is my hair now.

Next for the makeupy bit :)

I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of drugstore cosmetics, I don't know why. Possibly it's either its hit or miss with the quality or that it feels more glamorous opening a box to a Dior or Chanel Lipstick and applying it, I don't know.

However with these two little L'oreal goodies you can't go wrong ;)

The other day I realised I didn't have a liquid eyeliner anymore 'shock', so I went out and bought one straight away.

After having a quick look on the Boots website before going in out I read some good reviews on the L'oreal Super Liner so I decided it would be the one :)

And I'm so glad I bought it, it's lovely.

It gives a smooth application with its sponge tip applicator, which also allows easy control unlike some of the more brush tipped ones.

You can see in the pic below that I was able to do a quick squiggle with it :)

The liner itself is jet black and stays on all day. I took this photo after about 6hours of wear and it was still holding good.

I bought the L'oreal Studio Secrets Lip Glow a while back in the summer when it was on offer, however overlooked it until now.

The L'oreal Lip Glow is more of less the equivalent of the Diorcolour Reviver Balm (which I really love and have a past post on Here).

The main two differences between the Dior and L'oreal lip glows is the colour and the texture.

I find that the Dior reviver turns a more blueish pink on me, while the L'oreal turns a more berry colour.

Texture wise the Dior has a creamier more moisturising feel, while the L'oreal is more gelly and light feeling on the lips.

Both pretty different but the same, and for those reasons I love them both :)

Well maybe the Dior one slightly more because of the packaging ;)

Anyway I shall be back soon with more bloggings on Bioderma (I actually found it online) and Moroccanoil Shampoo.

All glittered up DIY for Christmas ;)

Hey again ;)

As Christmas is nearing and lack of bloody sunlight in Wales I have gone all crazy for glittery, bling things.

Maybe a bit tacky but I'm kinda like a magpie and it makes winter days a happier for me :P

So I decided I'd bling things myself :)

Back in 2006 I blinged out my old Samsung phone, and a couple of weeks back it turned up so I decided to take the swarovski crystal flat backs that were on it off, one by one. Quite a pain staking process but someone had to do it ;)

I then decided to buy some little bits and bobs from local craft shops and off this ebay seller. I also bought a cheap phone case and with some fabric glue and patience this is what I made :)

Anyway I then craved some more and decided to buy another phone cover and glitter it using fine glitter :)

I've been getting very crafty ;)

So here is my glitter version.

To make this I used the following:

Some fine raindbow glitter.

All purpose high gloss varnish (which is a sort of acrylic clear coating, that will fix glitter into place after sticking it with mod podge).

Mod Podge.

To make I evenly brushed some mod podge onto the phone cover using an old paint brush, then just covered in glitter. Easy peasy.

When dry I then sprayed with the High Gloss Varnish and left to dry over night :)

Using the same method I then glittered the heels of an old pair of shoes.

I'll be wearing these shoes to a Christmas party next week :)

And there you have it, I'm all ready for a sparkly Christmas :)

Modalu - Pippa bag in Black Croc

I just wanted to show you all some pictures of my baby, my Modalu Pippa bag :)

My parents bought it for me for my birthday after me going on about it for months :P

Anyway since owning it since October, I haven't looked back. None of my other bags have had a look in for months. I now only have eyes for this bag.

For £169 (which is what it cost at the time) it's one hell of a good price. I think you get something classic, and well made for a good price. Then again I'm biased, I've always had love for Modalu :)

So here are some pics :)

Favourite skin care products

Not a catchy title but there you go.

I just wanted to post on my favourite skin care products.

A couple of months back my skin acting slightly crazy, I had small spots, blackheads and dry patches and no matter what I put on it would balance it out. Well that is until I started using Lierac cleansers.

I really wanted to try Bioderma Sensibio H2O but couldn't get my mitts on it, so while browsing Feelunique .com (my favourite past time) I came across Lierac products.

I have a slight fascination and love for all french beauty related things and Lierac was there and it drew me in.

First I started off with Lierac Lait Demaquillant Fraicheur - Refreshing Cleansing Milk (the turquoise coloured bottle) which is a lovely gentle cleanser for combination/ normal skin. This cleanser seemed to stabilize my skin, while removing makeup and being gentle. Oh and it contains grapefruit and burdock which clarifies skin.

The other one I bought was the yellow bottled one Lierac Eau De Soin Demaquillante - Cleansing Water for Face & Eyes, which I bought because it was suitable for removing eye makeup, which the cleansing milk didn't. This is a very nice gentle water cleanser and is suitable for the most delicate areas containing floral waters lily and matricaria, which sounds nice :) and are moisturising and soothing.

And to the Pink bottle Lierac Lotion Tonique Douceur - Gentle Toning Lotion, it's similar to the cleansing water except it's not to be used on the eyes, but feels exactly the same on the skin though. It's refreshing yet gentle and removes every trace from your skin, without being harsh. It contains papaver and calendula extracts which have comforting properties, great for winter skin :)

On to moisturising, again there is some more French added :) in the form of Caudalie.

Caudalie Vinosource Quenching Sorbet-Creme was a godsend over summer, it was moistursing yet light and didn't block my pores, it's just gorgeous and sinks straight into skin.

However over winter I think it will be too light, and that's why Trilogy certified organic rosehip oil has come onto the scene again :) It's slightly more oily and rich, that sinks straight into the skin. Rosehip oil is said to improve the appearance of scars, stretchmarks and wrinkles, I'm not sure if it does those things but it makes a nice moisturiser.

Bought but havent worn yet....

Hi and sorry for being a rubbish blogger, I don't really have any excuses for not blogging but for pure laziness.

So today instead of thinking 'I need to blog' I'm doing it :)

I sat looking around my room wondering where to start and I noticed a pile of clothes hanging on my wardrobe door, still with their price tags on and I thought 'Bingo', that's what I'll blog about.

I keep meaning to wear them but I'm in such a rush most mornings I go with what I know, and out the door I go.

Anyway I just wanted to show my recent purchases, because I love them :)

Low Maintenance Hair

Hey again, hope you're all well :)

I thought I'd just do a quick summary of how I'm styling my hair lately (or not styling) and to mention that I'm back to my natural blonde colour.

For the last few months I've been going through hair colour like crazy. After Christmas I went back to red, then went blonder again, then red, then dark brunette and back to blonde. I'm not going to lie by saying getting hair from red to blonde is easy because it wasn't, and my hair has been suffering. So I have now come to the conclusion that I can't use heat on my hair for a while and that I'm going to baby it back to life. So at the moment I'm only using Kerastase Elixir Ultime oleo complexe which is a complex of four oils, Pracaxi, Argan, Maize and Camellia oils which all nourish hair. Great news is it doesn't weigh my fine hair down at all, or make it look greasy, just soft and shiny, and it feels protected. I apply it to towel dried hair, but you can also use it as a pre-wash or use it for finishing. You can buy it here Feel Unique and here Look Fantastic both have free postage too.

After applying Elixir I leave my hair to dry naturally a little, then pop some Bumble and Bumble Brilliantine in through the lengths and tie into a loose chignon until dry.
I then brush through and I have undone, natural waves. Easy peasy, with no heat. When I first bought BB Brilliantine I really wasn't sure how to use it, and it didn't really fit into how I was styling my hair at the time but now I think it is a god send :) Hair looks nicely texturised, with a little hold and shine. It comes in a small 50ml tube which isn't much, but this product really does go a long way, only a little bit is needed. It also compliments the Elixir perfectly, for my hair anyway :) You can buy BB Brilliantine Here.

Recent Eyeshadow Haul

So umm hey, remember me?

I've been meaning to blog for months, but didn't know where to start. I'd tell myself I'd blog a week or two after purchasing an item so I could review properly, but then would sort of forget. Or would just not use the product frequently enough to talk about it.

But tonight I forget bugger it, I'll just post some swatches to contribute something :D

So I thought tonight I'd start with some eyeshadows that I bought quite recently, say 3weeks ago.

The two top ones are L'oreal color infallible in 016 Coconut Shake (the light beigey one) and 012 Endless Chocolat.

I was drawn to these eyeshadows because I'd read in a magazine that they were a powder/cream shadow.

So when I went to try them in Superdrug I was expecting a creamy shadow, but when I touched them they were powder, but a creamy, velvety sort of texture powder. However they are nice and light and pretty pigmented. They apparently last upto 24hours to, but I usually don't wear makeup for that long to test whether that's the case or not :p

The only thing I'm a bit picky about is the packaging. When you open it there's a little lid on the eyeshadow, I know it's to keep it save and stop it from shattering however when I'm in a rush it's a bit fiddly.

I'm being a diva now.

They're not bad for the price either at £6.99

The Max Factor shadow is Max Effect in 04 Golden Bronze. At the time when I bought this I thought it was more copper toned (damn those deceiving shop lights), but it is a lovely colour (see swatches below) and it's lovely and smooth, glides on like a dream and was cheap too at £4.99. Bargain!! It really makes my Blue/green eyes pop when I wear it :)

Anyway I really appologise for my long pause on this blog, but I will try to keep up and also the whole thing needs updating as it is looking disorganised.

Moroccanoil and V05 Hot Oils

I've been meaning to blog about these for yonks, and I sort of forgot.

Well I purchased these last year, I bought the Moroccanoil treatment oil in April 2010 and the Moroccan Styling cream a month later.

Back then I was colouring my hair red and just really wanted to try these products as there was so much hype around them.

I read that the Moroccanoil treatment oil strengthens and conditions, revives hair and reduces drying time.

So I applied it to my hair and did actually find it pretty great.

My hair felt soft and silky.

I also use to put a bit of the oil into my hair colourant when dying my hair as I'd read somewhere that it helped to reduce damage.

Anyway I've been using it ages now, and have dyed my hair back to it's natural blonde, which I did at home by applying light ash blonde to my hair, over and over again. Which I don't recommend, it's best to go to a salon.

Anyway I reckon if it wasn't for this product my hair would be in far worse shape.

I was actually surprised that this products 3 top ingredients are silicone based (I don't mind, my hair benefits from it), but I would have though the Argan oil (the Moroccan oil) would have been higher up the list.

The bottle has almost lasted me a year and almost come to an end now, but I think it is good going since I was my hair everyday.

If my hair needs an extra bit of conditioning I apply the styling cream (or if I need less conditioning I only apply the styling cream, no oil).

What's great is the cream gives a light hold and you don't get any sticky residue or any hardness to your hair, it's still soft and silky :)

A recent rediscovery is V05 hot oils. I haven't used these since I was in secondary school.

So I saw these in Boots and my hair felt a tiny bit parched after dying again, so I thought 'why not give them a go'.

I'm not sure if it's just me but they seem to be way better than they use to be.

My hair felt like straw the other week, and after using 2 of these (one a week) my hair feels soft and shiny :)

All you do is heat the little tube up in hot water for a minute or so.

Then apply to wet, unwashed hair and massage it in, then leave for one minute.

Then shampoo and condition as usual and that's it :)

My hair now.

Topshop Nail Varnish - Geography Teacher

Hi all, I just thought I'd just make another mentally late post.

I thought I'd show you all one of my favourite nail varnishes of the moment.

Which as you can tell by the post title is Topshop's makeup brand nail varnish in Geography Teacher.

It's a lovely creamy caramel/camel colour, which is very on trend.

I'm actually quite surprised at how good Topshops nail varnish is, I was expecting some cheap nasty polish, but this is as good as any high end polish in my opinion.

With me it usually chips after 3-4days, which I think is good going.

They also have quite an impressive array of colours in their nail varnish collection, a few others have caught my eye and at £5 a go they're pretty cheap for the quality.

Vivienne Westwood - Naughty Alice fragrance

Insomnia has struck me again so as I sat around feeling pretty bored, I thought I'd just blog about this Vivienne Westwood Fragrance.

I received 'Naughty Alice' from my parents for Christmas, mum had remembered me liking the fragrance when I was in Debenhams with her :) So she bought me the Gift set, which is great as you get more for your money :)

In the box I received a 50ml Eau De Parfum spray and a 150ml Velvet Body Veil.

The perfume on the Debenhams website is described as:

I get a lot of the violet and powderyness in this fragrance, I just wish I could smell more of the musk and Ylang Ylang though (as Ylang Ylang is a favourite scent of mine).

On my skin this fragrance turns a sweet, floral, powdery scent.

I've never been one for floral scents, but this is pretty good.

For me this is a safe day wear scent.

If I was going on a date I wouldn't go for this one I'd go for something more like Dior Addict or Estee Lauder Sensuous Noir, but I reckon that a guy would always remember you by this scent (in a good sweet, carefree way).

Oh Yes and another thing the bottle is very cute, very classic and simple, looks gorgeous on the dressing table :)

Which is also cool about this perfume is you receive a little bracelet wrapped around the neck of the bottle, and it is a very funky little Westwood piece. Which I shall hang onto, in case it's worth something one day and ends up on The Antiques Road Show :p

Umberto Giannini Tousled Salt Spary

The other day I was wandering through boots and started looking at the Umberto Giannini products, and I saw this Tousled Salt Spray and I had to have!

It retails at £5.61, however at the moment there is a 2 for £7 on Umberto Giannini Products at Boots (click to see product on boots site).

I have naturally messy hair, even when I try to get it all polished it always ends up going back to it's natural state within an hour.

So instead of fighting my hair all the time I thought I'd work with it, and that's a reason for the salt spray, I thought it would enhance my natural messyness.

This spray is meant to give you morning after hair (which men love, apparently).

So the instructions are to spray onto damp hair and dry naturally, or use a diffuser.

I opted for the dry naturally though as my hair needed a rest.

So this is how my hair turned out :) I quite like it.

You can see I've now gone back to being a natural blonde too :D

The only thing I don't quite like about the product is it is a bit sticky, and leaves ends looking a bit dry, other than that it's great.

There's no greasyness like with other salt sprays and well it's sold at a good decent, affordable price, and it gives great tousled textured hair :)

On Saturday my Lush order arrived :D

I wasn't expecting it to come so soon as I'd only ordered Thursday evening, but anyway I thought I'd share my goodies with you :)

I don't think I've ever made a Lush post, so it's about time I did as I've been purchasing from Lush on and off for years.

One of the reasons I love Lush is their no testing on animals policy, and that they always seem to come up with some crazy sounding, but gorgeous products :)

I've recently started to feel sick of winter. The short days, too much darkness, rain, snow and cold therefore I felt I needed a reminder of something summery and that's why I picked grass :D

I find this shower gel calming, but soft and fresh at the same time.

It reminds me of waking up in a tent somewhere in the wilderness, with the sun shining on the grass and the heat of the sun bringing out its smell.

I reckon many men will love this scent too.

Anyway it contains wheatgrass (which is great for the skin) and bergamot and neroil oils which are uplifting.

It's Raining Men was my other shower gel purchase.

It's the shower gel version of the 'Honey I Washed The Kids' soap.

It's a very sweet, sickly (good sickly if you like sweet) and creamy scent.

I think many people will have tried this (was my first ever purchase years ago in the soap form), and is a very honey/caramel scent.

The good thing with the shower gel is that you can also wash your hair in it, so you get to have great smelling hair.

And with honey being the main ingredient you know it's going to be kind to your hair :)

Keeping with the Honey theme I bought a Retro Honey Waffle soap.

The scent of this is a mixture of Sweet honey and floral as it contain Ylang-Ylang, so it can tend to be quite heady. I love it though.

Next up is the Karma solid perfume.

This was a sort of whim purchase.

I'm not sure why I bought this, but I'm very glad I did.

It's a lovely spicy, orange scent, with patchouli thrown in.

I've used it two days running now on my wrists and neck, it gives me a nice calming comforting feeling when I smell it now and then.

The only qualms I have is the orange colour, as it shows up on my skin.

Gorgeous product though.

A few random accessories haul :) and NOTD

I popped to town today to buy some Christmas things, and while I did get one or two pressies I also picked these little accessories up :)

I know it's naughty buying things for myself so close to Christmas, but they were cheap (that's my excuse anyway :p ).

So first of all I bought some little pieces of cheap jewelery from Miss Selfridge. I'm not really a big jewelery wearer. Usually I only wear a plain silver ring or my silver and amber one, and I always wear my cross and St.Christopher necklaces, but lately I've been feeling a bit boring so thought I'd get some things on the sales.

I don't really like buying cheap novelty jewelery full price as I know I'll just be wasting money because I usually only wear them a few times, so that's why sales are great :)

I bought a little stack of gold Love rings for £2 :D and a gold heart bracelet for £3.

Yes I'm having a gold and red fetish it seems, hehe.

Look how cute they are :)

At the end of this week the weather people forecast snow for the UK, and I'm a bit of a beret lover so it was an excuse to buy a new one.

I get a really cold head so I always wear a hat through winter, I like being all snuggley and warm.

For the last few winters I have been a redhead, so I've had hats to compliment the red hair, but lately I've started going back to my roots and slowly started going blonde again (the blondeness doesn't show up very well in the picture below though).

And so the old hats I have now don't compliment the blonde hair. I think red goes nicely with blonde hair, sort of like red riding hood stylie ;)

The hat is from Topshop and was £8. It's nice and soft and contain mostly wool and angora :)

Also I thought I'd post an NOTD as I wore the 17 High Gloss Nail Polish in Risky Red by itself today without the Barry M Red Glitter polish (as was shown in a previous post).

I am actually still surprised by how smoothly this nail varnish goes on.

Sometimes I find some nail varnishes very thick and gloopy (even when new) to apply, but this sort of just slides on.

In the picture below I only used one coat, and it gave a good even finish and high shine.

Nars Orgasm and Sex Appeal Swatches

So the other week I finally took the plunge and bought myself two Nars Blushers :)

I've always wanted Nars Orgasm but I never thought I could justify spending £19 on a blusher, even though I've spent that much on a lipgloss before :s

I saw that Nars had a new blusher called sex appeal coming out and it was described as a light matte peach, and since I have very fair skin it sounded like a match for my skin :) And I had to have it.

However being me I can't just buy one of anything when purchasing something over the internet, I always think I should get whatever I want in the same purchase as I hate spending on postage.

That meant I got the blusher I'd always wanted, Orgasm :)

Orgasm is meant to achieve a fresh, flushed look, natural look, like after partaking in a little umm hanky panky, hehe.

I find that a lot of blushers look unnatural but orgasm is great it just makes me look healthy :)

Nars Sex Appeal and Nars Orgasm Swatches with Flash.

As you can see from the Swatches above Sex Appeal is a lovely, slightly pastel'ish peachy colour, but it doesn't appear chalky on me, which I feared it would when looking at it in its pan.

It's great for contouring.

I have heard that it doesn't show up on darker skin tones, but my skin is so fair that it does actually show up and gives me a nice peachy pink colour, which looks completely natural and fresh.

Orgasm to me looked pretty damn scary when I saw it in the pan, it reminded me of Mac's Dollymix, except more peachy and less cool than dollymix, but I think it was the shimmer maybe that made me think of it.

However when I applied Orgasm to my cheeks it made me look healthy, I do apply lightly though as I found out that if I applied it a bit heavy handed I looked like a Victorian doll.

I do love Orgasm, it's everything I thought it would be.

Both blushers are finely milled, and have a great light texture. In my opinion Nars blushers are way better than Mac (sorry Mac) and I shall be back for more.

NOTD: 17 High Gloss in Sphinx

So just a quick little nothing much to say NOTD with the 17 High Gloss Nail Polish in Sphinx.

As you can see its a lovely yellow gold, nice and shimmery and the application was nice and smooth.

I only needed two coats also, to give a nice rich cover :)

I think I won't overlook 17 nail polishes again, and will no doubt be purchasing more ;)

This is not very beauty related but I had to say Congratulation to Prince William and Kate Middleton on their engagement!!

Festive Nail Varnish Haul

I've been feeling prematurely Christmassy lately, so yesterday I bought some Red and Gold Nail Varnishes that caught my eye :)
And here they are.

As soon as I saw Barry M's Red Glitter nail varnish I just had to have it. I'm never really into anything glittery, but this red polish was so pretty I had to have it.
I applied some on top of the 17 High Gloss polish in Risky Red that I bought, and it looks gorgeous :)

I only needed one coat of the Risky Red polish, which was quite surprising as I usually find that with cheaper nail varnish you have to apply a few coats for an even finish.
Anyway the same goes for the Barry M Red Glitter too. I imagined that I'd need about 2-3 coats for a good glittery finish, but I only needed ONE coat!!

I also fancied a Gold polish and so I bought 17's Sphinx, I haven't used any yet, but from what I can see it's a lovely shimmery gold.
When I get around to applying some I'll post an NOTD! :)

I love Glamour Magazine :D

This month I was really, really excited to go out and find my glamour magazine, well more excited than usual.
All because this month there was a FREE Nails INC nail varnish to be had :)
Not just any old colours either, a colour I'd fancied since last year, but I didn't want to spend the odd £10 on it.
And that colour is Jermyn Street, a grey beige colour.
In the bottle it does look grey beige, but on it looks like a slightly grey, purple colour, maybe like a dark lavender?!

Anyway this varnish goes on very smoothly, dries pretty quickly and has a nice slight shine to it.
I LOVE IT :)
Jermyn Street is everything I hoped it would be :)
