USPS lady said that the processing time will take up to six weeks, supposedly due in March 17 which is next week. I am happy that the process didn't take that long, the passport book is on it's way, hence, the lil one is really going to the Philippines with us in May. And since it was sent last Friday, it might be in tomorrow or early this week.

Incoherently, I am still contemplating if I would apply for citizenship next year or so. It's hard to weigh things in. I love my country. I am a proud Filipino. These are some of the reasons that keep pulling my decision down. Meanwhile, I love my family -- husband and daughter, both Americans, and I stay wherever they may be. Tough decision to make but I'll cross the bridge when I get there. For the meantime, I will enjoy being a legal resident of USA. Make used of the $500+ 10-yr-greencard application fee. Decision will fall through in time.

12:35AM CT. I am still awake. Not sleepy but I need to be in bed and compel myself to sleep. I gotta go. Good night, everyone!

Weekend shopping and get-away from the 'lil one

Now that Spring season is coming, I bet you shoppers alike are flocking in the stores for this season's wardrobe. I know because I did the same this weekend. The store I went to was so crowded especially the fitting room both for men and women. Argghhh...I won't go shopping on weekends anymore. Caused me headache and pain.

At the store, I saw these teens trying on urban clothes, fashion trend for the youngs. Actually, they annoyed me to death. Who wouldn't when the fitting room queue was long and these people were playing around and took forever in the room. Good thing I didn't have my lil one with me that time, just the hubby who went to the nearby pet shop while I look for some clothes. For so many clothes I brought in the fitting room, guess how many I bought? Just one. A pair of designer distressed jeans. Got so lucky to find a size that fits me well. No alterations needed.

A petite like me always finds nothing or less in the stores. Sometimes, it is best to shop online but I am heck of a picky, I wanna try it on before spending. But you know how it is to be a parent...shopping or malling is somehow a stress-relieving-activity after 24/7 of tending a toddler.

Changes

My eldest brother's wedding is forthcoming. Two more months the couple will exchange "I do's" for the second time in front of family and friends. They've had a civil wedding a year ago. This year, the wedding will be solemnized at the Catholic Church.

Sister-in-law is anxious and has been preparing since the plan occured. She started hunting for wedding dress and tuxedo last month. Younger sister and I are still busy with other details. I am no longer in-charge of the wedding invitation and thank you cards. The couple wants abaca fiber to accessorize the invitation which I doubt to be possible since the material is rare to find and the time is getting closer. I offered to make but they are not satisfied with the lay-out. They want a two-page-invitation, unfortunately, I can not give. Shipping and handling to the Philippines cost so much. Hence, I give up and pass the task to my sister. Luckily, she accepted the job. Now she is having a bit problem as the concerned couple are changing minds on so many things. I wonder what would happen in the next few days. Maybe a change here, or another there. Let's see.

Rough Saturday

Whew! Just got home from grocery shopping. Had a rough shopping because of the sick 'lil one. Ain't no telling how cruel the day is when someone has flu especially a toddler. Everybody who got sick this season blames the sudden change of temperature. Regardless of the condition, hubby and I had to get some groceries or we'll starve lol. So anyway, instead of filling the shopping cart with needed stuff, we were compelled to speed things out as in went straight to the register after grabbing our basic needs, waited for the cashier while she scanned the items using the Symbol LS2208, a handheld laser barcode scanner, which probably lasted around two or three minutes. Didn't grab meats and dairy but definitely would resume shopping tomorrow or the next day once the 'lil one gets better.

Even the planned park visit is canceled with the same reason as above. Oh well, there is always time for that. The main concern for now is the 'lil one's health. Once she gets better, we'll eventually make a trip back to the park where she loves playing at and mingling with other kids.

Finding time for my online endeavor is rare, too, these days. The 'lil one is full of drama when sick and holding her all day is part of that. She cries and screams at every single situation she dislikes. Not to mention her loss of appetite that is freaking me out. I am afraid of giving her medicine with no food intake. Oh boy! She is definitely not my typical toddler. Hope she feels better soon.

Whatta rough Saturday though I am thankful for the everyday blessings from Him.

Still lucky

Hopefully, the weather is fine tomorrow. Hubby and I are planning on going to the park that he could run while the 'lil one and I stay at the play area. The park is loaded with amenities for all ages. It has two play areas with slides and other tools that kids can enjoy. There is a long sidewalk that can be utilized for either walking or running. Old people can do minor exercise using dip station, badminton and tennis courts are also accessible to the public. There are restrooms for necessities and sheds in case of rain or too much sun. Over all, the park is great for family picnics, birthday parties and for good cause gatherings.

Living in a town with a residence close to parks, medical clinics, grocery stores, food stations, shops etc. is such a blessing. We don't have to drive for hours and waste money for gas just to get what we want and need. Even the Mall of Louisiana is fifteen minutes drive from here. Ain't that tempting? If not because of the forthcoming trip to the Philippines this May, my face is always visible every week in the mall. I have to compel myself to slow down that I could save more...for the meantime (wink).

Speaking of malls, hubby brought me to shopping shop today. He bought a lot for me and for the 'lil one. Before I end this post being that it's already 12AM here, I wanna say...Thank you, babe!

Philippine TV shows on PinoyTVlinks

Pinoyforums said adieu but the entertainment never ends. The fall of the website opens a new door to another rising online place for Filipinos abroad to watch Philippine TV shows online.

Sorry but I can not link in the site here. I don't want the website to leave this early (yet). Just please google it with a keyword PinoyTVLinks (hosted by blogger) if you want to watch online Philippine TV shows.

Websites that offer free videos of Philippine television shows are basically one of the reasons why Filipinos living abroad are able to deal with homesickness. People who can not afford the subscription fee of PinoyTV or TFC channel. I am one of them. Pinoyforum was the only website that I kept on visiting. It is probably the best among the rest because of the organization of videos. The daily updates relieve me from the stress of being a homemaker and homesickness above all. Unfortunately, it has to go because of copyright infringement which won't probably be noticed by two huge TV networks in the Philippines if hidden reports were not submitted . Sad to say that there are jealous people around who can not be happy for others. They got to do whatever makes them happy to the point of slaying one's happiness. Report illegal videos! Tsk tsk tsk! So cruel!

At first I thought that Pinoyforums admin ain't have time to update the website. Hadn't read the important notice that is highlighted on the top of the page. I kept on visiting many times everyday but ignored the link "read this". Dang! I should have clicked it a long time ago that it didn't take this long before I get to watch the continuation of my favorite teleserye. Since the site is fairly new, contributors are still few, thus, limited videos are offered. Maybe in just a matter of three months or so, the website will be able to accommodate most viewers' request...more videos please!

I am thankful that Filipinos abroad have a new place to hang out in. Thank you PinoyTVLinks admin and contributors for the everyday entertainment. More power to all of you!

Sister is insured!

My sister and I talked thru YM voice chat last night. In the midst of the chats, her hubby came home from work and handed to her tons of envelopes including postal mails. One envelope was from the insurance company consisting the approval of life insurance that her hubby had purchased for her.

Prior to the purchase, my brother-in-law had to check for term life insurance quotes as well as informed himself with the insurance policy. I bet you that he chose the best and didn't mind the rate. I know him so well when it comes to his family. So now that the application is approved, he's gonna lose tons of money monthly which is not a big of a deal because it's for the future.

Anyway, during the conversation, I told my sister that her husband is going to kill her now that she is insured lol. Of course it was a joke! Brother-in-law even acted like he was choking my sister. That was a funny gesture. We were laughing to death last night.

I am glad that they both have the insurance that will protect and support their kids in the future.

Reid Supply Company

Check out Reid Supply Company's website if in case you need any industrial equipment such as leveling device, fasteners, hardware, hydraulics and other industrial supplies, big or small. As I've said, he couldn't make it on Valentine's Day, yesterday, because he had to work which is absolutely fine with me. After all, everyday is love day for us.

So the celebration took place today. We had to drop the 'lil lady at her grandparents that we could go watch Avatar. The movie was really great as expected! (I'll give my review on that later.) Deserving to be the highest grossing movie of all time surpassing Titanic. The theatre wasn't packed at all which we kinda expected since movie goers prefer Valentine's Day and other new films. Anyway, the date with hubby happened exactly how I want it to be besides canceling our buffet dinner because we missed the 'lil lady who owns the car seat. Maybe we are not just used to going out without her. Nevertheless, it was so fun spending almost four hours together without lil one's scream in our ears.

Speaking of Love day, my brother and his wife are renewing their marriage vows in May. They chose the month as we are coming home for a vacation. In that way, we could also celebrate with them. Younger sister in Canada and I had conversations about the wedding during our chats thru YM. Pretty much we play as wedding planners with no pay lol. Everything from motif selection to the tiniest details were discussed. Part of my role is to produce wedding invitations. I am waiting for the couple's scanned photo to be sent to my e-mail that I can start the lay-out. My sister-in-law said she'll ask someone from the internet cafe with scanning software to get the the job done once Kuya Bong (eldest brother) is home from the Airforce base. Alright, I am giving her one two weeks to do it. Ultimatum? Sort of.

Meanwhile, I am excited for the wedding day, for them. At the same time, I am drawing high expectations on the forthcoming vacation. Hopefully everything will turn out great. The plane tickets will be purchased at the local travel agent since the bank does not allow over $1500 purchase online. We could have bought it last Wednesday. Once we get it, there is no stopping us from going! We'll cross whatever it is that blocks us. As per Dannielle's passport book application, we are still waiting. Haven't heard about my 10-year-greencard so far. Oh boy, crossing my fingers on these.

A sunny Valentine's Day to all!

Good afternoon, ya'll! Happy Valentine's Day!

My day has just started, just woke up and went straight to my computer. It's already 12:59PM CT. I am not feeling well and so is the hubby. The 'lil lady still has colds. Regardless of having this condition, I am thankful to Him for all the blessings we get day by day, for this beautiful sunny Valentine's day and for making us safe every second.

The hubby just woke and told me about his online readings last night at work. I did tell you that he is so much into fitness and he reads a lot of related books. He said something about conjugated linoleic acid cla and it's relation to fat burning, muscle building, anti-oxidant and more. The website, www.sybervision.com has tons of information about CLA reviews and where to get various weight loss supplements, beauty products and more at a lesser price online.

Later today, the in-laws are stopping by. I already gave them a call that the 'lil lady is awake and that they got to come before nap time at 3PM. After this post, I'll be idled online, I mean my computer, in the next couple of hours. My household chores are waiting for me. The 'lil lady's toys already comquered the living area and so I gotta to put it back to her room. The floor is filled with food particles and so is the furniture. It needs to be vacuum and wiped clean. Last night I did clean the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. So it won't be much for today.

Thank you for reading. I gotta go now and start my day with sweats.

Skin imperfections during cold season

Every cold season, my skin turns dry, as in so dry and itchy. When I scratch it, I get this scabby-like skin. Yuck! And so every after shower or bath, I apply moisturizer on every part of body. What's bothering me now is my face. The skin is dry with acne breakouts, too. Not my typical skin as I am not an acne-prone person. I tried some products recommended by friends but nothing worked the way I want it. I am tempted to give zit cream a try but a little skeptical on the other hand. I already spent $$$ for my face and spending more is going to tear my pocket into pieces. What do you think? Well according to the reviews at www.zitcreams.org, zit creams does the job. Three of the top brands are listed on the website and are rated according to acne performance, speed of results, product safety and long term results.

Company tomorrow

Tomorrow, the in-laws are coming over to see me and the 'lil lady. MIL phoned me earlier asking if they could stop by here at my house after FIL's doctor's appointment.

The old people are lonesome for their grandchild. If it's not because of the father-in-law's condition, both he and mother-in-law are the 'lil lady's frequent company. FIL had a surgery last year, by the way. He got better after such but after a couple of months, the painful sensation is back, bothering him every single day. Now he's taking various medications with joint pain relief supplements. The pain is so cruel that he couldn't bare to stand for a long time. I always see him sitting on his recliner or if not, laying on his bed. It must be so boring and tiring to have that kind of routine. Hopefully, his doctors could find way to lessen his burden.

Never get tired of talking about it

You might be wondering why I talk so much about weight and weight loss. Well, it's because it has something to do with my lifestyle. I am trying to lose weight to be fit and healthy. Coherently, my forthcoming Philippine vacation has something do with it. I want to look great or presentable in the eyes of my family and friends. A non-sense reason but important for me.

Not only me who's into weight loss. The hubby is working his way to his desired weight and built. He lose tons of his body fats. Now he's building muscles to be slender and toned. The progress is so noticeable that everyone he stumbles on the road praise and ask him on what he did to look good. Someone even asked if he's into men diet pills. The hubby just said that he is doing the traditional way of losing weight. The supplement he takes is just energy boosters.

What is the best weight loss supplement?

Looking for the best weight loss supplement? www.bestweightlosssupplement.org has the list of the safest weight loss supplements that work. A given definition by every mother who takes care of their children 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I think the arduous part of being a mother is when the baby or child gets sick. The first time the 'lil lady caught a flu virus, she was a year old that time, was so stressful. So much was going on at the back of my mind. Negative what if's? came rushing in. The hubby told me to quit stressing out. Babies are going to get sick and it's inevitable.

When the 'lil lady started eating her first solid food, skin allergy was all over her skin. Turned out as eczema at the latter. The affected areas were so red with pus. Her pediatrician prescribed this ointment that cost us an arm and leg. Nevertheless, it did a great job. The eczema was gone in just a matter of three-day-use.

Regardless of the pains I have while raising the most beautiful gift from God, there would never come a time that I will give up on her.

Who said Colts' gonna beat SAINTS?

My friend Angela, a die-hard Saints fan spends victory in Bourbon Street, New Orleans. She drove more or less an hour from Baton Rouge (with husband) just to be in NOLA.

Who dat?! A trend amongst New Orleans Saints fanatics and is now so known in the world. I wonder how many are saying WHO DAT every Saints game? Whoever composed and performed that song, thank you! You shared it heartily. Fans of all ages are singing each and every line of it.

I must admit that football was not my forte before. It was boring and a waste of time. But tonight, it vanished when I watch the 44th Superbowl from start to finish with the hubby and the lil one on the couch. We were squealing and jumping everytime the Saints made a great job. Even the lil one was into it. At first, we were dismayed and seemed losing hope that Saints won't be able to get the title. I told the hubby that when the luck starts, it's gonna keep on going and I was so right. After saying that, it all just went so great. Touchdowns and interception took place!

The Saints made history! Saints won!! My heart melted when the Saints and fans shed tears. I saw the joy in their hearts. The hubby hid his tears and went to the room. First time in the franchise of over 40 years that they won the Superbowl. Brees beat in every category the five of the greatest quarterbacks in the season. How cool is that? NFL commentators are just on and on talking about the Saints. Wahoooooo! It is so amazing! What a greatest gift from God.

Yes, I will be watching the games this season. If given a chance, we might head to New Orleans which is less than an hour drive from here to watch one of the games. By the way, I told the hubby to get a new TV, a huge one, that I can watch the games clearly lol. He just laughed. Hope he's gonna. Just a wishful thought.

Congratulations Saints and fans! We made it! The substance tend to produce a mental or emotional effect to the dependent. It expedites the sustainability of the person who is so into it. One worst scenario is that nobody wants to mingle with a pill head besides their own. Family and friends turn their heads back with no recognition. Too many have risk their lives and celebrities are no exception. We've seen it on the news! The hubby's friend died when she took pills while taking a bath. She drowned herself and the rest is a tragedy. Her poor kids suffer from losing a non-worthy mother.

Through the help of detox professionals of the rapid detox Las Vegas, a drug-free life is attainable and possible. $12,000 to $14,000 fee covers airport pick-up, hotel stay, rapid detox treatment, anesthesiologist fee, psychologist fee, nursing fee, and after-care at hospital. The center is a trusted drug rehabilitation center in Las Vegas. I understand how it feels to be a dependent of the above drugs. I don't have that condition but some members of the hubby's family are. They just couldn't get rid of the pills. Up to this date, two of the family members are banned in the in-laws property unless they change. It's sad but that's how life is. Help was offered but they keep on refusing. I guess that's the end of the family connection.

Getting closer to the most anticipated day

Today we went to the post office to submit the lil one's passport application. Paid $87, ain't bad as the lil one is a minor. I dunno how much it cost for adults. Anyway, the process is another step closer to our Philippine vacation. Once we get our tax refund in two weeks time, we'll purchase our plane tickets as well as make hotel reservations online.

Earlier while on the road, the hubby and I were talking about the stuff that we are going to pack. He definitely won't forget his protein drink mix for his muscle building. Well mine is a lot of concerns. I have to load in the luggage my hair vitamins, pasalubong, clothes, etc. The lil one's stuff of course will occupy a larger space in the luggage. Her clothes and toys are amongst the many. Good thing that she ain't into baby food anymore. The only problem is her behavior. We are talking about embarrassment here. She screams so loud if she can't get her way. The temper is way above the line.

As soon as the tickets are purchased, I am going to start making our travel list that I can remember everything that is needed to pack. Before that, I am hopeful that we could find the cheapest possible airfare. For now, I am crossing my fingers for everything to go well.

Immodesty on Facebook

What's with Facebookters posting and tagging nude photos and videos?

Every now and then, I come across these crudely indecent photos and videos on my friends profiles. There was a photo of naked boys standing by the falls. Whoever took that photo and shared it online is such a disgrace. Those kids are innocent and had no idea what's gonna happen next. They just smiled on the camera showing everything they have. I wonder how many stupids were laughing and how many child abuser were satisfied upon viewing the photo. No offense meant for those who distributed the photos loosely but I reported each one that I saw with a hope that FB admin would exercise its laid policy. As a parent and a woman, what I have done is conformable to morality and is a fair action.

Facebook is a networking site flocked by members of all ages. Not a perfect place for salaciousness. In fact, I have a seven-year-old friend in my friend list. The obscene materials may be funny in the minds of non-malicious members but not for those who have concupiscence behavior. Worst is that, it could stimulate an objectionable circumstance. Pornography/nudity has its own place. Not publicly published on Facebook or other networking sites.

What annoys me most is that those photos were photoshop'd by these computer techie Filipinos (my own) who are (supposed to be) morally raised class of race being one with highest numbers of Catholic/Christian nations in the globe. So embarrassing to think that my fellow bloods are so into it. It makes me want to get rid of Facebook. Unfortunately, I can not make my wishful action done. I have tons of friends in the Philippines that I just reunited with on Facebook. Bloggers alike also gather on the site.

The world wide web is the crib of pornography. I may not be able to stop its rapid growth but I am more happy to have done what an ideal citizen should do. Report!

Inexpensive medical insurance

Health insurance, others are not minding to have one but it is really a necessity. I was browsing this website, www.ecomelectronics.com and saw various inexpensive products such as Remote Controlled Luggage Locator for only $9.95 with free shipping. This is a great help to easily find the luggage on the airport baggage carousel and many other places by just pressing the button. How cool is that? So convenient for a traveler with a baby with so much stuff. I'll keep this in my travel list. Getting one before the trip to the Philippines.

With ecomelectronics deal of the day, finding great electronics stuff with a price so reasonable is a sure thing. Visit the website I mentioned above or simply click the link above to be redirected to the page quickly. I already bookmarked the page, do the same for future electronics shopping

Gift for Valentines Day

What I want to receive this Valentines Day? Hmn...let me think...Oh yeah, I want a laptop. Though I am thankful having a desktop to be a functional blogger, I still prefer having a laptop in my hands. I would say that I need it. Having a one who screams for mama invariably holds me back from going to the house' office. There are times when I couldn't stay on the computer for an hour. She is always on my butt wherever I go. If she dislikes the place, she pulls me to the living area where she loves to stay other than her bedroom. So the best thing for both of us is for me to stay in her vicinity that I could give my whole eyes on her. For now, I can bear having no laptop. The next time my desktop breaks, oh no! ain't telling I am getting a new one.

Crispy green mango

Had a piece of green mango with spicy sauteed shrimp paste one drooling night. His whole life insurance is going to support everything that she needs. After selling the house, he said I could bring the lil one back to the Philippines and live their like millionairess for the rest of our lives.

But of course I never dreamed of that. I keep on telling the hubby that both of us should raise our kid. Not just me alone nor him alone. Parenting should be done by two individuals respecting and loving each other.

I am lucky to have the best husband in the world. He may not have the tons of money like others have but he provides well. He is a good father to the lil one showing no vices at all. The lil one is so inlove with his father. What a best scenario everytime they are together playing and learning. Just a happy family that melts my heart everyday.

I expatiate

Introvert. That's how some residents of the US described me. An honest response, YOU ARE SO WRONG! Yes it true that I am not implicating myself into so many occasions and gatherings here. For so many times, I have given the intricacy of my absence. Yet others are still digging a huge hole to bury me in. Can't they just leave me alone? The fact that they are spreading and telling false accusations causes vexation in my part.

Now I can not lock my tongue in. Here are the reasons why I am not often seen by so many of you :

1. Driver's license. We all know how important this is in America. It ain't like Philippines that we can just go anywhere we want being that transportation is so accessible. Here, it is so necessary to obtain one. Since I don't have my DL yet, I rely so much on the hubby to drive for me which totally depends on his availability also. I hate to ask anyone to come pick me up and bring me back home afterwards with a baby. Too much work!

2. Invitation. I barely get it when they do plan for a gathering. I understand that they are skeptical to invite me or whatsoever because I mostly failed the previous get-together. So be it.

3. Baby. Having one is no joke at all especially the ones that I blessedly have. The 'lil one is full of fussiness in her. GOing somewhere else becomes arduous within just an hour of stay. Screaming and kicking are the 'lil one's traits when she dislikes a certain place and if she doesn't get her way.

4. Alcohol and cigarettes. These I truly opposed. I hate to say this but I don't wanna be around with people who have vices. Stinks and not a good influence to my daughter.

5. Friends. Have not found the friends I wanna bond with. The friends who are similar to what I had in Gensan. I prefer simple yet sooo funny. Someone who can ride on to my jokes and craziness. Someone who can make me laugh so hard and laugh with me. So far, of so many that I met here, nobody possesses the qualities I am looking for. Most of them are so Westernized. I am picky and have always been.

6. Paid blogging. This occupies some of my time. I'd rather spend my time online and earn a bit or money that waste it going to nonesence.

I act so different here. I know that. It so happen that I am not fully accustomed to the American lifestyle. My past is holding me back to move fast forward. If only these people know the life I had in the Philippines. Oh I how I miss everybody there. They are the ones who could tell that LIRA is not an introvert person. That LIRA is fun to be with, the life of the party! That LIRA has tons of friends waiting for her to be home. I am affected when people say things against me. Reading all the old mails and testimonials from the individuals whom I spent time with make me feel I am an incredible person.
