Shopping for business insurance is somehow that I won't do. Shopping for my own insurance is not an easy task, how much more for the business? Business people are lucky because there are agents who can help them shop for them or find great deals such as the business insurance for marketing agency. If I were to build my own empire, I would do the same. Get an agent or an insurance specialist to do the job for me. On top of that, an honest agent is a must along with better coverage for a great rate. Just like what we see on TV, there are a lot of scams out there, so, scrutinize everything before getting in the bait.

Since I was off yesterday, I got the chance to bring the lil girl to the store for her usual toy shopping. Everytime we go, she picks a budget toy if it's not payday yet just like yesterday. She found this cutie flute, a cheap one, that only cost me a dollar. Well, that was the reason why we went to the store anyway, just to get her flute as she lost the other one.

So, at the register we went. She didn't want to give the flute to the cashier, she hugged it tight. I had to ask the cashier if I could just get the symbol barcode scanner to scan the product UPC. I dunno what went in the lil one's head why she acted that way. Maybe she thought she's gonna lost it again if she lets go of the toy.

Disney on Ice in Baton Rouge

Come Sunday, Mother's Day, we are heading somewhere in Baton Rouge to watch a Disney on Ice show. It is more exciting for her because her bestfriend, Addie, is coming with us, too, along with her mom. Both kids have no idea what they are about to see. Of course, I will be bringing my camera and camcorder to witness the girls excitement as well as take photos of me as it's my first time, too.

Anyways, I will update you guys about it through photos.

Friday night, I went to see my in-laws as well as picked-up the lil who'd been at her Maw and Paw's for the whole day. Right when I turned to their driveway, this beautifully made log swing caught my eyes. I couldn't help myself but to keep laying my eyes on it. The craftmanship is absolutely unique. The color is enhanced perfectly. When I sat on it, felt the natural comfort and seemed like I was under the tree feeling the crazy wind blowing me smoothly.

So, I did ask her about it. Where she got it. How much she paid for the piece (which I supposed not to dig into). Glad I did because she told me to tell her if I want to because she knows someone who makes it and sells to the local stores. If I get it directly from the maker, I could save fifty bucks. Love it! From then on, I made a plan and it shall happen on weekend after payday. Broke I become! Wink!

A gift worth a music

Talking about musical instruments specially guitar is not too hard for me. I can talk about it all the time, anywhere. I love music but not instruments. My sister plays a guitar, I can't tell what kind she has, maybe acoustic if my memory is backwards. One of her birthdays, can't remember the year but I do remember what she got from her husband, one of the taylor guitars that costs thousands of money. It slit a lil bit off her husband's account yet it was worth a gift. The guitar is really awesome. Plays so smooth. Sounds so amazing like you are hearing music in a concern. A perfect guitar leaves an inspiration to my sister to continue love her craft.

There is a Filipino welder who I happen to meet at a party hosted by a Filipino couple. He's been here for years and he visits his own family back in our home country every couple years. The coincidence is that we both came from the same city, Southern part of the Philippines, home of the famous all-time world boxing champion.

This Filipino I am talking about works for a huge company in the world that not only hires thousands of welders but also makes welding supplies for local and international buyers. I tell you he is so lucky for getting the job. Huge employers mean huge benefits and a better retirement.

Piano bench

Playing a standard-sized piano in a standing position is definitely arduous. Maybe not that much for me as I am petite but most musicians I've seen on TV are tall or average so maybe a piano bench is a must. The bench solely made for playing piano is cushiony for comfort as well as height proportioned to the gigantic musical instrument. It is also made of leather for durability.

Having a piano is absolutely not inexpensive. There are times when I want to get one small-sized piano with a gorgeous leather made with nailheads bench for decoration purposes in my living room, not for me to learn how to play, but the price itself will cost me an arm and leg, so, NEVER MIND, I thought.

I have been having my dslr camera since last year but didn't really give a care about the trend of most Filipinos in the country. When the 'lil one was just a few months old, she accidentally pulled my necklace off my neck. Of course, the gold chain broke which also broke my heart as it was the first jewelry I ever bought myself from my first salary. I can not blame my kid for what have had happened because she didn't know any better. If there is someone to blame, it should be me. I forgot to take it off. I knew that time that she was starting to grab things of her reach. Well, busyness made me forget. You know how it is if you are a new mom. You gotta do everything and learn from it. Anyway, tiill this day, the broken chain is still in my jewelry box. It ain't fixed nor changed. Maybe now is the time to give the value back. Tomorrow is payday. After my appointment, I might go ahead to see someone who could fix it.

Baby shower for a friend coming up

Next month, February, I am hosting a friend's baby shower. It is supposed to bee celebrated this month but some of my friends (housewives) can't afford to make it for now because of the huge amount they spent for gifts last Christmas. Heart's day is the most suggested day for a double celebration -- Valentine's party and Baby shower.

Each guest shall give a pack or box of diaper plus a surprise gift. I already bought diapers as well as ordered a baby carrier from kelty backpacks collection. My friend is a sports enthusiasts and loves to run and walk. So the baby carrier is a perfect gift. She could go for a walk with a baby on his back or chest. Go shopping with no stroller and so on. Hope she'll like it.

Can't wait for the party come. Excited from the preggy mom.

In a world largely run by technologies, high technologies so to speak, comes a huge concern on our own security not only from home invaders but as well as from electronic hackers. Statistically speaking, one person is being hacked within the matter of three minutes. It is that fast and you could hardly realize it if you own that much in your account just like the person I know. Not only that, it happened to my husband. We were in the Philippines for a short vacation when someone took three hundred US dollars ($300) from his bank account. The bank traced who's who and was coming from texas, a state nearby. Eventually, the bank gave my husband's money back as part of their security policy.

In relation to what I was talking about earlier, I am scared, too, to be one of the victims of this hard to resolve crime. That is why, I am using paypal on my online orders and have a wallet to protect my credit and debit cards. Yes, I own an rfid blocking wallet to help me protect my assets. Hopefully, I won't get hacked at the latter.

For quite sometime, I have disregarded this blog. To give you an idea of how long, starting this post was harder than I thought. So much to say, I didn't write anything personal for so long. I missed blogging, indeed!

New year is a start of a new beginning for me as well as my family, thus, I am baptizing this blog with a personal post before the first day of the year culminates.

2012, the year that I am so looking forward to come, not that I am not thankful for 2011 but this year's plans are the things that excite me the most. To start with, my marriage to my husband is coming to it's fifth year. The lil one is turning four which means she's gonna outgrew the so called"terrible three". Here comes the Philippine trip in September for my dad's 60th birthday, and of course, church wedding of the best couple in town --- me and the husband ; ). Hmn...and me turning 30 come July is not that I am excited about but the present that the husband promised me (wink). Kidding aside, I am thankful to God for a great life and for everything he gives this year. There are so much planned family activities and fun just for the lil one. For her security, I am not laying everything here since this is an open blog.

Anyway, the start of the year was a whole lot of fun. The husband and I took the lil one for a ride to see some fireworks. Stopped by at a friend's house for dinner as well as popped the amazing fireworks in the neighborhood. Haven't slept for 26 hours, I felt so groggy and looked haggard last night but had to hold myself for the lil one. I did that stupid thing because the lil one is realizing occassions or celebrations now and I want her to enjoy every single one of it with a family beside her. Seeing her so happy paid all the tiredness off. We came home around 11:30 last night. Just a few minutes after the first hour of 2012 ended, I was out. Never heard anything. No loud fireworks noise, no laughs or screams and everything. To sum it up, I had a great slumber in the couch. I woke up feeling so great!

The house by the way looks new to me. Christmas decors are down and are to be kept in the shed tomorrow morning. The lil one wants the tree back but no-no-no. After a quick explanation why, she finally agreed to wait when Christmas time comes.

Gosh, I am really getting sleepy. Tired I guess of taking all the decors down (exterior and interior) and put the house together to normal. I still have a lot to share but resting myself from my netbook is the best thing to do. Happy new year ya'll!

Reminisce...reminisce...reminisce.

I remember my high days everytime I see a guitar. Sing-along was the trend during my time every break time. My classmates and I were so into music that we gather most of the time to sing acoustic guitar songs. Well, I was the singer and at the same time the guitarist if the song is easy to play.

Recalling them days make me want to have a guitar not just for the selfish me but to motivate my daughter to be a music lover because she is already gifted with the voice. And since my Christmas wishlist is not done yet, I am listing the guitar as one amongst others. If Santa won't give it, I'll probably get me one early this year. Yes, I am in the mood and been longing to play the guitar again. It's been almost five years since I had my last play.

Accident in the kitchen

Our three-year-old kitchen faucet broke a week ago. It happened in the morning time while the hubby tried to wash his hands before breakfast. I was in the bathroom with my morning routine when I heard a scream for help. I ran as fast as I could that I was about to tip on my daughter's toy only to find out that we were having an indoor fountain. yah, we just had a lil swimming ground, too. Lol. So, I hurried myself underneath the sink to turn the water valves off.

Two days after that funny day, we went to the store for kitchen faucet shopping. This time, the husband let my picked the lucky one without price limit. He just had to swallow big time for I got the kinda expensive ones knowing that it's gonna last long and that can be reused when I decide to update the kitchen. THere would be less things to worry about such as undermount stainless sinks and other lil hardware besides granite.

He sleeps there, I sleep here

Did you know that for the longest time I have not slept in our master bedroom? That is right! The hubby sleeps there by himself during the night. Whatever is in your mind, you are wrong. We don't have marital problems just a common simple couple's quarrel. Anyway, the reason why the set-up has been made because of our irregular schedules. The hubby works days and I work nights. So when he's working, I am sleeping and I lay in the spare room where I won't be disturbed. Hubby comes home often and he does his weight lifting thing in the bedroom.

Since the bed in the spare room is kinda old even the mattress, I am planning to take it to the new level by purchasing a new bed and maybe a foambymail memory foam mattresses as a gift to myself come Christmas Day. I guess this is a great idea.

Who is not crazy about coupons? Well, I am. Everytime I go shopping, I make sure that I have checked all my printed coupons as well as saved coupons on the web. It make take a lil of my time but it is worth it because of the savings I get. My coupons are clipped with my grocery list the next time I go back to the store and that's come Thursday morning after work. Often, I save around fifty percent off the total price and that's because of the coupons. So, the extras go to my house projects which I am so thankful that I am seeing the cost.

I finally was able to get the patio dining set that I have been eyeing for a long time. It was around three hundred bucks before when it was in season but yesterday it was marked down to seventy-five percent off.I couldn't pass the deal, thus, borrowed a lil from my savings in order to get it right away. Plus, there came a barbeque grill in the shelf and was marked down as well. It wasn't in the game plan to purchase it but guess what, I did spend not a fortune for it. As I've said, I couldn't pass a great deal. Again!

So the dining set is already put altogether. Spent the whole day just for it yesterday. Did not even take a nap and forgot that I worked overnight. Excited? Naaa...just so pissed that my husband wouldn't help me at all. As usual, laziness, having no common sense and initiative are in him when there is work that needs to be done. He said it's football time. Alright, I got that! And, I will remember that, too.

Anyway, enough for that sentiment. Later today, I will be putting the grill altogether. Then, get some abrasives such as brushes to clean my forgotten patio. Thanks to the furniture and grill, the patio is gonna be maintained as much as possible.

Working in a restaurant is never a bad idea. I agree that it ain't a great job for a family person because of a lower wage but if a waitress or hostess gives the best service as well as gets regular customers, there is no doubt that tips would triple the hourly wage or maybe more than that.

On the other note, restaurants either big or small are becoming one of the largest business sectors of today. That is why more and more Restaurant Manager Jobs are being offered most of time. The demand for experience, opportunities, exposure and higher wage compared to part-time workers are amongst the reasons why there are people who really hook into this job.

Ain't it great if every memory we created are captured through our very own lenses? Personally, I love the idea of having a camera or camcorder near me. It gives me a full chance to capture my daughter's developments including her new gestures or actions. And that is why, I bought me a new camera, a sports goggles for basketball when I bought the lil one a small basketball ring. She is so into sports and even knows how to say "touchdown" instead of another word relative to basketball shooting like "shoot" everytime she propels the ball into the ring. She got the word from her daddy who is so into football. She incorporates football to basketball which for me is funny.

I love looking for houses online and I had been doing it for years and that?s how I came across my first home. I was just digging around trying to find something interesting when it popped up ? a two-story bungalow in the perfect neighborhood, newly renovated with really motivated sellers. I called up a friend of mine who was an agent and bought it on the spot, sight unseen, mostly because I knew there was no way a bad house was anywhere near that neighborhood. I moved in about 2 months ago and it?s been so much fun making this place my own! I went to directv to get satellite for the TVs and I?ve been waiting on the exterminator to call me back since this place is old and I?m sure there are termites. I love the idea of being a real homeowner and I can?t believe after all this time I found a house that made me want to shell out the dough. I would recommend this for anyone who is considering it!

Next year's plan

Our next year's Philippine vacation is still in the planning process. We are saving as much as we can every payday til we reach our target pocket money. The plan B is that we are gonna check city cash advances in case circumstances occur and the supposed to be savings will be utilized for that event. Hopefully, in God's Grace, nothing happens that could affect the plan. Everybody is excited to see each other in the flesh again. Families and friends are talking about the reunion next year. Yay! Can't wait!

Amongst the visit, my renewal of vows in the church with the hubby is one of the much awaited event. That is part of the plan and that we are also saving for the expenses. I told the husband I need around four gran for everything. Not that huge and not comparable to the huge wedding here in America in terms of finances. Yet, mine would be so special.

Anyways, I don't have enough details for that. Updates will be read here, so, watch out for that.
