Hello Blog Friends,

It's been awhile since I created anything scrapbook related! Goodness how time flies.

I had the itch to get back to it and thought I would play along with the March sketch challenge at

Soooo I have not bought any scrap supplies in years. I have a large stash from my designing days that I drew from for this challenge. I remember my last months with Scraps of Darkness kit club included lots and lots of 49 and Market and I used that to create my project.

Products Used:

Scents of Nature- Beauty Abound, The Forgotten

Shimmer and Shine- Amber Jardin, Ivory Melange

After all this time it was so much fun to pull out my distress it all and grunge up those edges. A little sewing and staples to finish the outside off. Lots of layering, stamping, splatters and thread.

Not sure I will be using photos too often. I really like ephemera and a story telling style.

I added a little bit of chipboard and used my favorite embossing technique.

Hello Friends (if I still have any left in blog land!)

It's been a hot minute since I created a scrapbook page or been involved in the scrapbooking world.
I guess you could say I have been on a 3 year leave of absence. I am now dipping my feet back into the water. I did not get rid of a single scrapbook supply but haven't really taken a peek at them is sooo long. Now it's like shopping in my studio! How fun! Except I found that a lot of my pastes and texture products have dried up. Trying to find a way to breath life into them since they are mostly brand new!

Below I am sharing a renovated page. I have been going through old pages and redoing them, bringing them up to date and more to my current style. I created this page originally for Scraps of Darkness or Elegance and tore it apart, changed out the photo, added more flowers and stamps, and oh some embossed chipboard. I hope you enjoy!

I still love the punches and you know what, I am going to use them when I start a brand new page. Who's with me?

My Art These Days

Hello Blog Friends,

It's been awhile since I have posted anything. I've taken a break from the scrapbooking world in order to pursue my true dreams artistically. I've been taking on line drawing/painting classes for awhile and now have started taking them in person at a local studio.

I'll just share a few things I've been up to in my online classes in case you don't follow me on facebook. :)

These first two sketches are from an online class I am taking with Lauren Rudolph called Collaged Reflections. I've just been focusing on the sketching part of things at the moment. If you are looking for an excellent drawing skills class this is it. Lauren really teaches you how to "see" like an artist.

I've been taking a class with Kara Bullock called Charcoal Like Mad. Also taking Let's Face It 2018.

These are some practice sketches in charcoal practicing hands.

You can see on this last one I used grid marks for my guides and didn't erase them yet. Using a grid is a tool artists use to get everything in the right place. I'm starting to need this tool less and less. Last year when I took Let's Face It 2016 my grid marks were 1 inch blocks. Now I'm using them mainly when I am practicing hands that are detailed or a figure to get the proportions correct. When I'm just drawing a face I'm finding I'm not needing it as much unless the face is at a difficult angle that I can't get right.

Finally these are from a class with Annie Hamman (my idol). This class is called Close Up Workshop. This focuses on drawing and painting and learning to do expressive loose work.

The first one is a collaged background with a very loose drawing on it. I added some acrylics.

This one is a sketch on music sheet paper.

That's what I've been up to for now. The in person class I'm painting a still life. If it's decent enough I'll share it when I'm finished. :)

Altered Wood Frame- Scraps of Darkness Seaside Kit

Hello Blog Friends!

Today I am sharing the "Multicraft Import Wood Photo Frame" included in the Creativity Add On of the June Scraps of Darkness Seaside Kit.

Here I go with the Art Dolls again! This one went fishing!

I painted on a layer of gesso then used the Tim Holtz Burlap stencil and scraped a layer of the white Impasto Paint found in the Creativity Add On over the stencil. I used this all over the frame. The Impasto Paint is a very thick acrylic and works well for this. Once that dried and I did help it along with a heat tool I painted over it randomly. I watered down the Cobalt Impasto Paint (also in the Creativity Add On) and used both the Prima Art Alchemy "Sparks Unicorn Hair and Metallique Coral Reef" paints. I also used a Lumiere Paint in Bronze found in my stash.

My Art Doll takes center stage. He has gone fishing and caught the 49th and Market Sand and Sea Layered Embellishments... a Starfish to be exact. He is holding it all together with the Blue Fern Studios Anchors Away Chipboard. Both found in the Elements Add On.

The Main Kit included the WOW Whirlpool Embossing Powder. I painted on some Artisan Powder then embossed with the WOW. It created a beautiful sparkle!

Surrounding my little fishing man are a host of florals included in the Floral Add On. A mix of 49th and Market and Prima.

Melinda always includes special details in our kits. I couldn't help but create with these tiny white shells and USArtQuest Ice Queen Prills found in the Creativity Add On. They really add a special touch to your project!

Kaisercraft Altered Birdhouse - Scraps of Elegance Mix'd Media Kit for May

Hello Friends-

Today I'm sharing the Off The Page Project for Scraps of Elegance May Kit "Mix'd Media"

I absolutely loved this creating with this Kaisercraft Birdhouse!

In case you haven't noticed I have a passion for art dolls and book page fringe. I used the beautiful Blue Fern Studios Happy Accident papers in background as the base for the whole birdhouse. I then used the Prima Art Alchemy Butterfly Spells Acrylic Paint over the edges of the birdhouse. I used some crackle paste and modeling paste with a stencil to create texture and interest in random areas on the roof and edges. I dabbed Prima rust paste on these areas to create a worn patina look.

The front of my birdhouse has one of my favorite art dolls. I used a metal birdhouse found in the Scraps of Darkness Kit and some chipboard birds that covered in a blue acrylic paint and rust paste. Of course I added tons of flowers and leaves found in the floral add on because I just love flowers on my projects!

I wanted to do something different for my roof. I added book page trim and shaped it to look like a big nest. Then I added in some moss and a little birds nest and chipboard birds.

The sides of the birdhouse are embellished as well. I used a lot of elements from the Tim Holtz Ephemera Botanical found in the Elements Add On. I also used my book page fringe along the edges.

Here is a little close up of the front. Isn't she adorable?

I also stamped randomly with the Blue Fern Clear Stamps Halftones found in the Elements Add On.

I stenciled both with paste and distress ink.

I added some wooden feet and painted with the acrylic paint found in the Color Add On.

This project was so much fun I loved creating it!

Artist Trading Block - Scraps of Darkness - May Kit- Attic Finds

Good Morning Blog Friends-

The Attic Finds Kit from Scraps of Darkness is probably one of my all time faves!

I just love the ephemera of 7 Gypsies and Tim Holtz. This really is my style and what I enjoy doing the most. Collage style work, altering and funky artsy details.

So much inspiration in one box!

I created this artist trading block using the 7 Gypsies Architextures in my background. You can see the pattern paper add on in the kit here.

I added layer upon layer cutting out bits and pieces from these papers and adding in the ephemera found in the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Emporium Pack found here.

The Creativity Add On included the Prima Finnabair Rust Effects Paste. I used this on my box edges, all of my metal embellishments including the chains. I added spools for feet and used this on them as well.

Along with the rust paste I used some blue toned paint to achieve a patina effect on my metal.

Also, I used a stencil and used the paste with that adding some texture to the pattern papers on the box.

One of my little art doll girls holding some letters from Papermania-Mr. Smiths Workshop Alphabet Stickers found in the Elements Add On. She is also popping out a suitcase. This is also in the Elements Add On - 7 Gypsies Architextures treasured adhesive stacked suitcases.

On the top of the box I used a Frank Garcia Memory Hardware latch coated in rust effects paste.

I attached a few chains with dangles.

I had the metal butterfly in my stash.

Today I'm sharing a beautiful project I created

with

Creativity Add On for Scraps of Darkness May Kit "Attic Finds"

I used the Tim Holtz Ideo-Ology Wood Vignette Tray to create a Vintage Memories Scene...

You can find the Creativity Add On here...

Included in the Creativity Add On are the Finnabair Art Extravagence Rust Effect Paste Set. I used modeling paste on the outside edge of the box with a Tim Holtz Burlap Stencil. Then I coated it in the rust paste. I used brown first then dabbed on the red and yellow. I also used the Prima Art Alchemy Ancient Coin Acrylic Paint included in the Color Add On. I dabbed this on randomly and then also used a Luminiere Paint in a blue green tone I have in my stash.

I love to make paper fringe. This along with art doll images seems to be my muse as of late. I used some book pages and cut them into fringe to line the inside of the box. The background and layers were created with the 7 Gypsies Architextures Papers and the Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Ephemera Pack.

My little art doll is holding a Graphic 45 Shabby Chic Metal Key embellished with Distress Glitter.

The beautiful florals surrounding her are from the Floral Add On. I used a small wooden cube and adorned it with the Tin Ceiling Tiles by 7 Gypsies found in the Main Kit.

Also in the Elements Add On are the Blue Fern Studios Veranda Cage Set Chipboard. I painted these cages in Silver Lumiere Paint and embossed in Silver and Blue embossing powder. I also dabbed on the rust effects paste.

I had some little Frank Garcia Memory Hardware rings in my stash. I used these to adorn my birdcages.

Scraps of Elegance Layout and Tutorial

I used a combination of both the Blue Fern Studios and 49th and Market papers in the kit.

I have to say the 49th and Market flowers included in the kit are the MOST beautiful flowers ever!

You can find the floral add on here. I used a combination of the stamp included in the months Scraps of Elegance Creativity Add On and the Scraps of Darkness kit for April.

Love This- Design Project for Scraps of Darkness

Hello Friends-

I'm sharing a layout I created with the "Blue Skies and Sunshine" kit from Scraps of Darkness.

I used the Indigo Skies papers from Kaisercraft and just cut out the little yellow flowers from the BoBunny Petal Lane papers to use as embellishments.

You guys know how much I love to emboss and Stampendous encrusted jewels are my favorite.

We have some in the store here. I thought I would try embossing my Prima and Petaloo flowers and the butterflies. I just random stamped on them with Versamark Ink and then embossed. The Versamark is invisible ink and I love it for embossing. You can also see how much I love to fussy cut!

All the beautiful flowers I used are found in the Floral Add On here.

I used a crackle paint on all the chipboard then painted over it with the paints found in the Color Add On and Creativity Add On.

I also used the Prima Lemonade Ink Pad found in the Color Add On and used the Kaisercraft Texture Stamp Paint Strokes found in the Main Kit.

Happy Mini Album- Design Project Scraps of Darkness

Hello Friends-

I'm back with a photo heavy mini album. So grab a cup of whatever you like and lets get started.

Using the April "Blue Skies and Sunshine" kit I started the cover of my mini with an art doll I have in my digi files. I put this one together and layered her? among the chipboard flowers "happy" die cut and metal piece. The background paper is Kaisercraft Indigo Skies "Windswept" found in the Main Kit. I had a piece of chipboard on hand that I painted in Magical Pond found in the Colors Medium Add On and Pure Sunshine found in the Creativity Add On. I also did some random embossing with Stampendous Encrusted Jewels. The beautiful florals are Prima and Petaloo found in the Floral Add On.

I added ribbon to my rings in matching colors. I attached some chain and then colored some tag shaped chipboard with the Prima Memory Hardware Artisan Powder found in the Color Add On. After I painted that on I went over it in a gold color then added some BoBunny metal pieces I embossed with Distress Embossing Powder.

I opted to keep this album pretty simple. I die cut a lot of circles to use as mats for photos. I then embellished with die cuts from the Kaisercraft Indigo Skies Collectible Die Cuts found in the Elements Add On. I added my own vintage art dolls to some of the pages.

In the March kit we received Gabi's Line Stitch Stamp. I used that stamp around each page.

I also like to add some modeling paste and splatters.

A view from the side shows all the little pages I alternated with blue and yellow circle die cuts. I added some little file folder type edges for the page turners. I have those in my stash.

I added a couple of pockets and tucked in some of the cute little die cuts from the Kaisercraft Collection.

More vintage art dolls I cut out and added a little die cut tag. I like to place little frames here and there small photos.

Scraps of Darkness Blue Skies And Sunshine

Hey Gang! Today I'm up on the blog with my first project featuring the April Kit from Scraps of Darkness "Blue Skies and Sunshine." If you live in the Northeast like I do then you are at that point in the year when you are welcoming all the blue skies and sunshine you can get! This kit is sure to make you feel like a sunny summer day is just around the corner. So pull out those spring and summer photos and get ready to roll with it! You can find this kit here.

By the way Daisies and Sunflowers are my favorites!

I have been feeling sentimental now that my youngest is 11. She went from being my little girl to a Middle School Tween in the blink of an eye. I no longer see much of her because she is all about her friends now. Soooo.... out come the photos of when she was little. I found a perfect photo for these Kaisercraft "Indigo Skies" Papers and the Maggie Holmes "Gather Sunshine." As you can plainly see I fussy cut my heart out.

I just inked the edges of the leaves and flowers. These papers are perfect to add a watercolor to. You really could treat them like the Adult Coloring Books if you wanted too. I like the contrast of the white florals against the darker paper so left mine as is just inking the edges in blue. In the center of some of the smaller flowers I added a yellow pearl drop. I used the "Nuvo" crystal drops found in the Creativity Add On here. These crystal drops make a perfect little pearl. I love this product!

I centered my photo inside the Blue Fern Studios Graduated Circles Chipboard found in the Elements Add On here. I painted them in both the "Pure Sunshine" and "Magical Pond" acrylic paints found in the Color And Creativity Add Ons.

Amid the leaves and florals I scattered some Ice Resin German Glass which adds a little sparkle to this project. Of course my layouts are never complete without a little stamping and splattering of paint. I like to be a bit subtle in my mixed media work because I really enjoy creating interest with the papers themselves and don't want to overpower my project.

I'm really loving the florals. They make me want to go out and garden! These are the Prima Ainsley found in the Main Kit and more Kaisercraft and Prima florals found in the Floral Add On.

I hope you enjoyed a tour my of my garden today and encourage you to go forth and create your own.

4th Reveal- Scraps of Darkness- Boys Will Be Boys Kit

Hello Friends-

Today I am sharing another layout created with the March Kit "Boys Will Be Boys"from Scraps of Darkness. I really fell in love with the colorful papers included in the kit from BoBunny's "Life in Color" and enjoy how they jump off the page with the Blue Fern "Chesterville" paper in the background. You can these beautiful Blue Fern papers here and the BoBunny papers here.

While the title of the kit suggests it a "Boy" kit you can clearly see how versatile it is and works for an autumn layout! I layered the blues, orange and lime green and stamped my flowers with some Heartfelt Creations stamps. We carry Heartfelt Creations florals stamps in the store here. I kept it really simple by stamping on the colored papers and coloring the edges with the beautiful Spectrum Noir "Sparkle" brush markers. They add a really pretty glittery sheen.

I scattered the American Crafts "POP" microbeads all over the page and in the center of the flowers along with some glitter glass. I had this piece of chipboard from Blue Fern Studios "An Autumn Story" from a past Scraps of Darkness Kit. We have a great selection of Blue Fern Chipboard and there happens to be an Autumn piece here.

I painted this chipboard in several different colors then embossed it with gold from my favorite Stampendous Encrusted Jewels in gold. I used the Spectrum Noir markers again to give it a beautiful rust sparkly sheen.

3rd Reveal Scrap of Darkness March Kit Boys Will Be Boys

Hello Friends I am back again with another layout created with the Scraps of Darkness March Kit "Boys Will Be Boys"

Have you seen these awesome papers by Blue Fern - the "Chesterville" collection? Probably the most versatile papers ever! You can use these for a mixed media look and go heavy on paints and sprays or you can use them beautifully with a mix of pattern papers and lots of color! I really loved bringing in the bright orange and blue of the BoBunny "Life in Color" papers.

The Chesterville collection is in the Main Kit and the Life In Color paper are in the Coordinating Paper Add On.

I added a cute photo of my daughter cut in a circle. Love to do some different things with photos rather than always a square or rectangle.

I just fussy cut the frames and numbers from the Life in Color papers and layered them in a collage fashion. The arrow you see is a Blue Fern Studios Splatter Arrows found in our Elements Add On.

I colored the arrow with the Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Crayon in the Main Kit and then embossed it with my all time favorite powders Stampendous Encrusted Jewels in Gold. We have some in the shop here! I LOVE the effect these embossing powders create.

I had a resin corner from Prima and colored it in some art alchemy and added a little bling to the ballon.

Random stamping is another favorite of mine. Here I used the Carabelle Studio Circle Collage Cling Stamp found in the Elements Add On along with some Distress Ink in Marmalade. We also have Distress Ink in the shop!

Scraps of Darkness March Kit 2nd Reveal

hello Friends- I'm back again with another project featuring the fabulous "Boys Will Be Boys Kit" from Scraps of Darkness. Now you can plainly see you don't have to be a boy to work this kit magic into your life. In case you don't know where to find our kits I've got a link to the store here.

Got to love a good Octopus right? Especially a purple and orange one. What a great color combo to brighten up the Blue Fern Studios (Chesterfield) papers.

I pulled some things out of my stash, a large chipboard gear and colored it with the Spectrum Noir glitter markers in the Creativity Add On. They are fabulous! Gorgeous color and sparkle and they work magic on chipboard. I then embossed randomly over it.

I love me some pops of color so you see that Octopus worked quite well. I might have turned it into a butterfly pus though. ;) Tucked in some cheese cloth and added those gorgeous florals. The large one was in the Main Kit by Ruby Rock It. The cute little safety pins are from BoBunny (clear stickers) found in the Elements Add on here.
I had bits and pieces of BoBunny items on hand from past kits. If you subscribe you will build up your collection too.

missed out on the Floral add on so used past SOD kit ones. You can a great selection in the shop here!

Now go on- cut up that Octopus and see what else he can be!

"Boys Will Be Boys" Design Team Reveal

Good Morning Friends,

Today I am sharing my first project created with the March "Boys will be Boys" kit from Scraps of Darkness. You can find this kit with all the add ons here.

BUT since I don't have boys just some girly girls I thought I would show you how this kit really works for anyone!

I used the Blue Fern Studios (Chesterfield) papers in the background found in the Main Kit and mixed in BoBunny's (Life in Color) I love the mix of orange and blue with the Chesterfield papers.

The Blue Fern papers are in the Main Kit and the BoBunny ones are in the Coordinating paper found here. I also pulled out my punches and just added a grungy punched look at the top.

I embossed a couple of arrows, one I had on hand and the other was in the Elements Add On (Blue Fern Splatter Arrows) I used a distress crayon for the blue color (found in the Main Kit) and colored the brown arrow with Spectrum Noir Markers (found in the Creativity add on).

The stitch stamp is 49th and Market (Gabi's Stitch Stamp) found in the (Creativity Add On).
I also used some of the Bo Bunny Clear Stickers found in the Elements Add On.

Hello Friends

Today I am sharing a portrait painting I created with the September Scraps of Darkness Kit titled "Blush"

You can find this kit and all others here in the Scraps of Darkness Online Store.

I drew the portrait in graphite then painted it in a combination of acrylic paints, Colored Pencils, Prima Oil Pastels found in a past Scraps of Darkness kit, Prima Watercolor Confections found in the Creativity Add On here. The headpiece on this portrait was created by fussy cutting the florals and leaves from the Rossibelle papers found in the kit. The background was primed in gesso then after the portrait was painted I went over it again with gesso in a more textured way by using a thicker coat and brushstrokes. Finally I used the Prima Watercolor Confections in the background in pink and brown. I finished off this piece with some Gold Mica Flakes scattered in the background.

Sharing my second layout created with September Kit "Blush" from Scraps of Darkness. You can find this and all our kits here.

I was inspired by the Prima Vintage Emporium paper in the kit and decided to do a grungy vintage layout. The photo is one Tim Holtz found relatives. I photocopied the card and make a photo. This way I have the original to use again. ;)

I painted some masking tape and used that torn up along the edges.

We received a gorgeous Antique Gold Embossing Powder by Blue Fern Studios in the Color Add On here. I painted some chipboard with Art Anthology in a brown tone then embossed with the Blue Fern Powder. It gives it a wonderful textured antique effect.

I used some of the Prima Rossibelle chipboard found in the Elements Add On here and mixed it in.

Then of course I layered in a ton of flowers. You can never have too many flowers. ;)

I created a layout with these beautiful papers found in the paper add on. I used a combination of the Prima Rossibelle and Kaisercraft Treasured Moments. I used lots of layering and fussy cutting techniques.

I used the beautiful Blue Fern Studios Treasured Floral Frame the frame the photo. The frame was was first brushed with Prima's Rosewood Artisan Powder and then embossed Blue Fern Studios Gold Embossing Powder. Both are found in the Color Add On.

I layered a ton of florals and used some stamping and masking in the background.

Giant Shabby Vintage Tag

I've got a new tag to share today created with the Scraps of Elegance August Kit "By the Sea"

This tag is one of the Ranger measuring about 5 1/4 x 10 1/4. It is a nice big surface that will hold a lot of media and layering!

I used Blue Fern Seaside Cottage as my base layer then added the "Notes From The Sea" cut out from the French Riviera collection.

I have an affinity for these vintage images especially on tags and altered items. This one is Lucy by Kristin Hubick for RetroCafeArt. I like to buy my images unless I can be sure they are copyright free. I never use any from pinterest unless they come from a copyright free source.

The layers are stitched on a sewing machine. I used the beautiful chipboard piece from Blue Fern Studios called the "Seashell Frame". This was found in the Elements Add On you can find it here.

I covered the chipboard in a layer of gesso then I used some crackle mediums on it. I think I applied it improperly though or was too impatient. I ended up without much in the way of crackles but lots of lumpy texture. It's ok because then I painted it with Art Alchemy in Opal Magic Pink Blue. Then I random stamped it and embossed it with Blue Fern embossing powder in Coral. The embossing powder was in the Color Add On found here.

I embossed the starfish with a combination of encrusted jewels and blue fern embossing powders.

We received some beautiful shells in our kit and I painted the once again with with Art Alchemy paint. I used some mica flakes mixed with glitter to spread in the background.

We always get a great selection of florals in the add on here. I usually pile the flowers on. I can't help myself. Then I finish off the bottom with book page fringe!

Clay Mermaid Canvas Scraps of Elegance By The Sea

Hello Friends-

Today I am sharing a canvas I created for the Scraps of Elegance Design Team using the August Kit "By The Sea"

I was inspired by the kit to use the fabulous Gabrielle Pollacco's youtube video tutorial "Imagine" canvas to create the clay mermaid. You can find that tutorial here. I used polymer clay following Gabi's tutorial and then I went ahead and did my own thing to her.

I used a flat 10 x 10 canvas found in the Creativity Add On and covered it in Tim Holtz tissue paper adhering it with Modge Podge. I then coated it in white gesso and wiped some off although there was a lot of print on the tissue you really can't see it now. The texture of the wrinkles was what I was going after. I smeared Art Extravagance Texture Paste in White Crackle on the background- more along the edges and some in the middle and let it dry overnight. In this months kit we received Art Alchemy acrylic paint in Opal Magic Yellow Blue. This was in the Creativity Add On you can find it here. I used that as my first coat of paint on the background. We also received Inka Gold in Apricot in the same add on. I began layering color by water down the inka gold and randomly painting that with a variety of other colors. I used a mix of acrylic art alchemy paints and some Shimmerz. The background has a nice effect of varying blues, purples and gold.

In the same add on we received Blue Fern Studios Seaside Treasures Chipboard. I broke mine apart, painted in with coral paint then embossed it with Blue Fern's embossing powder in Coral. The powder was in the Color Add On here.

The mermaid was painted in a variety of blues and golds. I used a Shimmerz Tarnished Treasure, layered in some Art Alchemy in Deep Waters found in the color add on and some gold Inka Gold. The hair was painted in a brown Lumiere paint. I then embossed the hair and the Mermaid. I used my favorite gold encrusted jewels found in our store here - and some Seaglass WOW embossing powder also by Stampendous and found in our Main Kit.

I had some chipboard Ferns from when I designed for "Ginas Designs" and I painted them in various shades of green and brown for a natural effect. I love Lumiere Paint and used them for the ferns. I then embossed them in gold encrusted jewels again. Also found in the Creativity were some beautiful freshwater and glass beads. I mixed those in.

My title is a chipboard piece from the French Riviera collection. We received a pack of those in the Main Kit. I embellished it with some copper mico beads and deep waters paint.

I added some French Riviera Say It in Crystals I had on hand along with some seed beads. I used a bit of green prills and sprayed some cheesecloth with Lindys mist in a bronze color to give a sea weed effect within the ferns.

"By The Sea Kit"

I was inspired to create a Tri Fold Mini Album following a tutorial for the base on YouTube by Papercrafter 45. You can find it here. I used the French Riviera Collection found in the Coordinating Paper Add On here to create the base for my album.

The Seaside Lilies Flowers by Blue Fern Studios are in the Main Kit and I used them along with the French Riviera Flowers found in the Floral Add to embellish the front of my album. I tucked in French Riviera Chipboard and some Dusty Attic Chippies. Our beautiful color add on included Art Alchemy Deep Waters Metallic Paint and I used it along with Stampendous embossing powders in gold to treat my chipboard. You can find the art alchemy paint here and the embossing powder here.

This is a side view tied with some beautiful dark blue seam binding with a jewel dangle.

This is what the mini album looks like opened up. I created lots of tags with both the Seaside Cottage and French Riviera collections.

I used some fussy cut pieces from the French Riviera collection and added a little wooden embellishment that I had on hand. I also did a little stenciling in the background and added splatters.

This is the back of the album. I love the print of this French Riviera papers contrasted with the stenciling and splatters.

You can see the depth of this album with the ribbon tied.

I used a Spellbinders Die for the base then layered my papers and florals over it. Love that lily flower from Blue Fern! You can see my little starfish embossed- a Dusty Attic chippie.

Scraps of Elegance Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Friends-

Today I have a fun canvas project to share. I created this project with the July Scraps of Elegance Kit "Sunshine and Sweet Tea"

I used a flat canvas as my base and covered it in gesso, then applied Tim Holtz Tissue paper torn and modge podged randomly throughout the background. I then unwound string and placed it all over the background, covering it in gesso then a layer of Opal Magic Pink-Blue Art Alchemy found in the main kit this month. I then went over different areas with Gelatos in Raspberry and Metallic Blueberry. We have a wide variety of Gelatos in our shop you can find the colors I used HERE.

I used Primas Art Extravagance White Crackle paste on the edges before applying the gelatos and paint.

We carry Heartfelt Creations Daisy Patch Flower Stamps in the shop HERE. I stamped them on papers in the Main Kit and then added color with Gelatos. I also colored some of the Minnie Pearl Prills found in white then colored them with Lindys Mist in California Poppy Gold. You can find the prills I used HERE.

I was inspired by my friend Lisa Gregory to emboss my Prima Forest Leaves dies with Lindys. I used Midnight Gold, Cosmic Blue Violet, Hyacinth Blue Jade, Merry Go Round Green and Desert Moon Turqoise. I basically just pressed each leaf onto an embossing pad then sprinkled different colors on them to mix them together.

The center jar is a Blue Fern Studios Floral Jars Chipboard found in the Elements Add On HERE. I embossed this as well with my favorite Stampendous Encrusted Jewels in Purple. If you have not tried these embossing powders I highly recommend them. You can find some HERE. I also used some glass beads and prills to fill up the jar.

The bird is from the BoBunny Butterfly Kisses Printed Chipboard found in the Main Kit. I covered it in Prills and Watermelon Glitter from Blue Fern Studios Imagine Ink. This glitter was found in our Elements Add On as well. Everything was edged in Tea Dye Distress Ink found in the Color Add On HERE.
