Pre-School Registration

Mummy have been wondering if we should send Qin to pre-school / kindergarten at hometown on next year Jan 2012. Mummy is worried if Qin immune system not strong enough & can easily get infected & fall sick, how if Qin fall sick & Popo is also infected at the same time?...who will take care of us during the weekday? But, adult can't just keeping Qin at house all the while. It's time for Qin to explore & socialize with other kids & learning new things.
Thus, Mummy & Daddy decided to getting Qin to be ready & stable first at hometown pre-school first for the time being.

Today, Popo has brought Qin to school for pre-school registration. Qin was so happy to see lots of students there playing & learning together.
After registered & back to home, Qin quickly take bag & told Popo that she wanna go to school now...hehe
Well, not sure if Qin kept her promise. But, Mummy still worried about Qin's adaptation in the new environment. Wish us luck & Pray to God, that Qin & Popo always with a good health.

Qin turns a big 3 today.

Qin celebrated her 3rd birthday two days early together with her Gong Gong’s 71st & Bro Ivan’s 5th birthday at nearer restaurant, surrounded with close family members.
Happy Birthday to Gong Gong & Bro Ivan too!
Qin was so excited and played along with cousins these two days.

2 weeks away from Qin birthday, Qin is already telling people that she is three years old.
Qin being love to chat & more social now.

Getting Qin to be ready to Pre-school

Qin will turns third birthdays in next 2 months. She now become more interested in understanding & curious about other people's activities.
She wondering what's adult's doing, eat for lunch & dinner and asking if mother going for working today?
She probably beginning to think and take more interest in socialising.
Now is the time getting Qin to be ready to pre-school after she reach 3 years old or next year January. Many people has reminded me that when kids start schooling, they can easily get infected & fall sick. Mummy is worried but we can't be selfish that just keeping Qin at house all the while. It's time for her to explore & socialize with other kids to improve social skill , learning things & etcs. Pre-school activities will allow all kids to play more structured games & to focus on one activity. So, we decide will send Qin for a pre-school by January 2012.

Recently, Qin will tell the adult that she want to go to school when adults asked. Not sure if Qin is really ready to pre-school. Mummy worried about her adaptation in the new environment & new people and her health. May God Bless all of us.

Colouring...

My little Qin is colouring.....
And she keep on asking Mummy, What's this colour…..
Mummy did answer which part is green, blue, red, purple & etcs

And she keep on asking Mummy…What's this colour….
Mummy didn't answer and ask Qin to think,
And figure it out herself...

After 2 times of coloring...
Qin's able to choose appropriate colour for the things we going to colour….
And she able to differentiate few colours…green, blue, orange, purple, red, black, brown…

Mummy said Qin looks like playing with water than colouring....haha!

Update:-
Qin turned 31 months this past week. She’s fully potty trained during the day time.
She is eager to attempt putting on her own shoes & clothes.
She loves listening to musics, playing pretend, loves to sing and dance.

Learn to Understand

Qin will begin to learn to know what to expect & able to understand whereby Mummy's going leaving for work and inform Qin when Mummy will be back as promised.

Mummy: Mummy's going to work in KL later, to earn money & buy milk & toys for Qin… (eye contact with Qin), Popo will take care of Qin, 知道吗？

Qin: 知道!. (Qin look at Mummy, at this point, she's understand & responding verbally).

(Mummy pack up thing & preparing to go KL together with Daddy)

Po Po: Ah Po bring Qin go "gai gai" (Popo wants to avoid Qin crying want to follow Mummy…)

Mummy: (Mummy's telling Ah Po) Qin won't cry as she's able to understand already…5 mins ago…

Mummy: (Mummy's walking to the car & Qin is starting want to follow..) Mummy's going to work ah….will back soon…Ok, Bye Bye…

Qin: k, Bye Bye..

Mummy: Fren kissssss,

(the next day) Qin's remembered what's Mummy's said & promised to her. She's also telling the same to PoPo. Previously, Qin only will ask Popo "where is Mummy" then Popo will answer her that Mummy is working.
But now, Qin's able to understand & tell PoPo that Mummy is working and buy milk for Qin. She will begin to know what to expect.

Message to FTWMs:

It is really hard. No words can describe the pain as a mother's feel to watch their daughter play together for two days and then have to say goodbye, waiting for the next two weeks/months to see each other again.

What to do when we practice leaving the child for work and inform the child when you will be back? Be firm and calm when saying goodbye to your child. She will eventually understand that you're going away but you will come back as promised.

Eye contact express yours feeling to your child, tells your child she is important and that you are focusing on her. It also encourage your child to make eye contact with you and increase the effectiveness of your message.

Potty Training

Toilet trainning seems to be challenging task. We began potty trainning Qin when she was 22 months old.

We put her on the potty from time to time just so she could familiarize herself with the potty and get comfortable on it.

She was in her diapers then, which we later switched to training pants.

Qin now refused to wear diaper, she now wears panties during day time and was comfortable enough to have a bowel movement on potty at each time.

She's much better at controlling and is able to announce to adult when she wants to have a pee (Qin say it "hm hm" when she want to have a pee and "pet pet" when she want to do "Big" de..).

However, she still learning for no diaper @ nap time, to adapt to full diaper-less and do "Big" on potty.

We still not starting to train her during the night-time…..long period of time…..How do we go about it??
No rush.....

Numbers, Alphabets, Colors & Shapes

We've introduced 1,2,3's to Qin when she was 13 months ( My First Flashcards ) and she now able to recognise, read & count 0 to10.

We're just beginning to introduce her ABC's, colors & shape, she's only now beginning to recognise them.

Introduction of colors & shapes through toys, pictures, drawings and painting for learning to recognise is a pre-reading skill.

Happy Qin Love.

Her co-ordination skills improve, more active, jumping & running.
Qin started to learn walking her bike (of coz support with 2 wheels now), was able to walk the bike while sitting comfortably on the saddle with both feet flat on the crank. She still not ready for fully ride & learn the balance & steering as her legs not long enough. However, she learns new co-ordination skills through bike-ride – she knows to turn right, turn left and U-turn her bike. She feels confidence and comfortable enough to walk the bike now.

Qin is able to point to several objects that we name, recognize the names of familiar people, objects and body parts, repeat the word she hears. However, Qin still not ready to make 5-6 word sentences now.....These early learners need to be encouraged to expand her vocabulary through the environment, social activity, to read.

“Yo-Yo” is one of Qin’s favorite playgrounds (Qin named it as Yo-Yo). She can spend 2 or 3 times daily at the playground. Of coz we have to pay 100% attention of her safety during playing at the playground equipment to avoid the risk to fall down. Mummy was worried this coz Qin was experienced injured at her right hand arm twice already.

28th Sep 2010, Booster Jab + Injured

Qin had her DTP/Polio/HIB & Hepatitis B (5 in 1) booster jab last Tuesday 28th Sep 2010. Qin was actually due for her booster vaccination, we have been delaying because according to Dr. Shan Chee's advise that this booster jab to be taken preferred with good immune system.

Dr. Shan Chee praise me that Im a GOOD GIRL. You know why? Because I don't cry during the jab...hehe

The next jab Hepatitis A supposely scheduled on my 24 months old, have to delay till 3-4 years old as per Doctor.

At night, when my milk time before sleep, I want to follow PoPo to pouring milk for me then Popo put me to the chair. Unfortunately, I was falling down from the chair and my arm was injured. I was crying out so loud. This was very painful and Gong Gong brought me to see Tabib. The next day, my arm was become more pain, swelling and Im just lie down at sofa for the whole day because not dare to move. I don’t have mood to play, drink milk, eating and walking around as usual.

On Thursday, Gong Gong brought me to see another Tabib for twist arm. He enwraps my upper arm following injury. This time, I feeling better and can playing around but still don’t want to drink milk, just eat a little porridge.
On Sunday, the adult brought me to see Tabib again for cleaning. But my upper arm still was very pain and swelling. I was crying very loud when the Tabib tried to clean my upper arm and he enwraps again my upper arm. My upper arm was little broken. Mummy was very sad & painful hearts see the little one crying out with pain. Pray to God that after these visits, Qin will not feeling painful & 100% recovery.

Second Birthday with Bro Ivan at JB

It was a special gathering of family. For our Qin two-year-old having the birthday party with Bro Ivan four-year-old at JB home was most comfortable.

Qin loved having all her favourite people around. She thoroughly enjoyed blowing out her candles.

Two-year-old update:-

Qin's memory was much more sophisticated than a year ago. She's understanding of more abstract concepts, like more and less, later and sooner. She's also understanding the concept of space – there, where, in and out, up, down, etc. She is able to recognise some of the digits & pictures. Her memory is improving and she's learning to identify basic words.
She is able to follow a two-step command, like “Please press the button to lock the door and bring the key to adults so she can pass them for you”. “Please get the shoes and bring them to Mummy so she can put them on for Mummy”.

My First Bicycle

I think it is too early for me now...I still don't know how to ride the bicycle...

Phone Conversation

Qin love to imitate whatever adults are doing. She now will try to communicate by holding the mobile phone. She gradually learn to respond what she hears.

Today, when Popo’s handphone is ringing Qin run to try getting the handphone but Popo got it first. The call is from Mummy. Then Popo pass the handphone to Qin after their conversation.

Mummy: Qin, 叫吗咪。。
Qin: Ma Ma
Mummy: 吃饱了吗？
Qin: 饱饱

Then the adults said me "clever".

My Water Bottle

Mummy bought this little water bottle (Munchkin BPA Free). I love this bottle so much coz this bottle come with the little straw and I can drink more water compare with milk bottle.

Thanks God! Qin’s recovery, no fever & no pain on the 2nd day….again, Po Po claimed that this is not HFMD...coz Qin looks like no other symptom such as blisters or rashes on the hands and feet.
"Why doctor said its HFMD???"

Anyway, Thanks to the Lord of His grace & protection to Qin.

Yesterday, Mummy received called from Popo that Qin was not feeling well with a little fever in the morning session. Popo gave Qin medicine and the temperature drop in the evening.

Gong Gong called Mummy to inform Qin's condition this morning.Qin fever slightly increase and she doesn't want to drink and eat anything. She was very hungry but just only crying....these can be very painful in her mouth.Gong Gong brought Qin to visit Dr. Shan Chee and Dr. said ulcers in Qin's mouth, tongue, gums. It's about hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD).

Again, Qin was suffering from fever and pain. Not only these, she also on appetite....These feeling of discomfort & pain may last four to 10days....really pity.If we adult have an ulcer in their mouth, we can feel the pain already.

Can you imaging if our little baby have ulcers in mouth, tongue and gums. How suffering they are.

Mummy's feeling “heart pain" and reminded Gong Gong on the phone to frequently wash her hand to ensure the cleanliness and suspend her toys for the time being.

Mummy hopes that the parents will fully emphasize of Qin's cleanliness. Hygiene is very important to avoid the health risk to the little one.

Pray to God that Qin will not feeling painful & get well soon.

Turning 19th Months

Qin turning 19th month today.

Some update about Qin:-

Can throw and kick a ball
Can point to picture of some fruits/animals when you say the word
Dances to music
Learning to draw straighter lines
Learning to wash hands with help
Searches for hidden objects
Can identify several body parts when you say the word (since past few months)
Will throw away an object such as rubbish
Can pushing to move forward while sitting on her tolocar.
Has bad temper
Switches from two daytime sleeps to one (sometime depend on what time she wake up during the first nap )
She loves imitating activities and everything we say.

She is becoming much easier to understand now that she pointing at things whatever adult is trying to say.

She is very good in walking now and her Popo said Qin will follow her wherever they go within the house and she have been busy “helping” Popo to take out the cloth one by one (clean clothes in drawer) & put in pail at washroom for Popo to wash.

Whenever she see her Popo is mopping the floor then she is also “helping” to wipe up with a cloth.

This little helper just trying to help out!!

Qin loves to throw thing if she do not want to play with it

Past few weeks, Mummy let me hold the spoon and feed myself the porridge. Only give little stuff in a bowl for me to practice but all stuff drops out from the spoon before it reaching to my mouth…

Actually the adult is headache on how to stop me from throwing stuff.

Qin loves to engage in play. She spends most of her day at play.
Experts say children learn much through play, which is why it must be encouraged.

Children explore and experiment through play because it:-

- Allows little ones to learn about the world around them
- Builds self esteem
- Builds social skills
- Language development with singing, sound imitation, rhyming and object identification
- Stimulates creativity and imagination. Imaginative play supports and promotes social development, allowing for your child to learn cooperation, sharing, leadership, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
