Last saturday, I got the chance to experience the fashion installation and event at Senayan city Jakarta to celebrate the Guess 30 sexy years. Who does not know Guess anyway? This brand apparently has been around since 1972, found the Marciano brothers. All along it takes the concept of sexy, wild, and adventurous all over the world.

This time, the capsule collection, which campaign starred by Claudia Schiffer brings back the old charm of Wild West in modern way. Checkered shirt, ripped jeans, retro tee, faded and flower patterned skinny, not forgetting the sexy lace bustier show the iconic style of Guess. I totally can't get over their bustier and sexy denim.

The installation, featuring Guess stylized mannequin in red and visual merchandising with complementing the ad campaign, present the collection in an integrated way. Moreover, bloggers that day also can pick, choose, and present their styling in the styling competition. Meanwhile, visitor can relax at the make up and nail bar by Revlon or have fun at the photobooth.

In my opinion, this event succeded in putting the message across to bloggers with this one day event blogger special. Splitting the day give a lot more focus to the target audience, well a too cramped event won't be fancy right? It gives clear brand message and positioning, yet interest viewers to just.. shop for more!

There comes a time in every life, where the world gets so quiet, and when you travel deep into your soul and say a million things without a trace of sound. You know that maybe your life is inevitably consumed by the thoughts that you are wasted. This is the time when I will be miserable at best, as in the coming days, weeks, or months, I might not know how to speak, act, or move on. I drink coffee like water, and I still don't know what to say.

Maybe in another life I would make you stay, and we'd keep all our promises. I wonder if what we are doing here is trying to make up for some dissapointment in the past, or quiet feelings of ineadequacy with reality. After all, I feel like i am a small fish trying to move a whale in the ocean where current flows in my opposite direction. I know how huge environment can shape someone's mind set, and i think it's not fully that person’s fault, as words can convey messages; they have the power to make or break a person.

I remembered, in the beginning, I prayed that I don't want to be someone who easily walks away, If I I have the chance and courage to be the change you’ll ever want in life, then let me be. but it never strike me, that in order to help someone to change, you can or have to fall as well. With this I understand that love cares for another person more than your own. I keep telling myself to not being bitter hearted and harsh. I have forgiven all of your fault and hers too. While I prayed to be given the strength to do so, I broke into tears for hours and hours. We can't always have the best moment, but I think I have done all the best I can afford under such circumstances.

Sometimes we have to grow up in a painful painful way. One day i was wondering why do people love when it does not last? But now i know that people change so you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so you can appreciate them when they're right and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

What i believe is that don't let the past relationships ruin our future happiness, scars remind us of where we've been, not where we are going. It's all about the view, that's what i meant about forever too, for any of us it could end in an hour or 50 years from now, you'd better make every second count. Relationships come and go, some are tougher than others. Nobody will ever be perfect for you, but its always wise to choose someone worth suffering for, and who would suffer for you too. In the end, you will discover that your longings are universal longings, you are not lonely and isolated. You belong.

MFW 2012 Matthew Miller

It's the 4th day of Singapore Men's Fashion Week 2012, and is filled with more international designers from the west. Matthew Miller opened the show with neutral suits with amazing belted details and continues with explosion of colours, duffle coat detail, psychedelic prints, and fashion forward bag packs.

This London based designer brings a fresh and quirky designs to the runway. The print suit is something we rarely seen/worn in singapore, but it definitely bring people's perspective about prints in menswear to the new level. He blend various materials in the collection, resulting it has a hint of luxe sportswear, and the whole philosophy is fun yet still functional.

"AW 12 interactive prints, the viewer is invited to interact with and respond to the piece, the garment is but one moment in time, and the interactive prints are constant in the evolution." - Matthew Miller.

The rucksack is definitely something i droll over, looks perfect and inviting for weekend traveling. Matthew Miller definitely will be listed in my designer-to-watch list, and maybe put them clothes on my male models in future photoshoot.

l'occitane x style beauty workshop

Attended L'occitane and Style Magazine beauty workshop a while back, in conjunction to the launch of L'occitane immortelle range. Immortelle is long known as the everlasting flower because they retain form and colour, even after they are dried. Therefore, L'occitane use this amazing flower extracts to create brightening and anti ageing skin care range.

From the workshop I noted important points:
- toner is needed after we cleanse our face with facial wash to ensure all dirt has been removed and to prepare our skin for the moisturizer.
- use ring finger to apply eye cream, inside out direction. not rubbing it.
- while applying moisturizer, apply with upwards direction (chin, cheek) not back and forth.
- do not forget the neck area while applying beauty products.
- anti ageing products shall be used when we reach 25 and beyond.

I personally love the Immortele brightening moisture cream and the Immortele brightening UV shield. The sun screen has SPF 40 which will protect you under the constant sun for seven hours and it doesnt feel sticky or oily.

Inside the goodie bags

Tottally adore the Cherie lotion, moisture well and it has nice smell :) I bought Shea butter hand cream and Shea butter balm- which can be used as lip balm or nail cream. And i totally looove them! the handcream is not oily and it feels so soft after applying it, while the balm acts very well as lip moisturizer for my dry lips. Totally recommended!

The fabulous Keira Knightley seems to be going from strength to strength, appearing in plenty of critically acclaimed films, including Never Let me Go and A Dangerous Method. She’s also enthralling viewers in Chanel’s stylish mini-movie for its Coco Mademoiselle fragrance. Appearing on a motorbike, she promptly seduces a photographer before driving off wearing an all-in-one jumpsuit style outfit based on the classic Italian fashion values of simplicity and style.

She also looked fantastic in this American Vogue shoot. Creative director Grace Coddington captured an unusual image of a slightly sun and wind swept Knightley on a huge rock that straddles the Kenya-Tanzania border. Her clothing had a bold mix of styles, sporting a colonial safari shirt jacket by Madewell above a blowing Thakoon parachute skirt and finished off with a pair of Timberland boots.

Timberlands were also used in the hugely successful 2010 comedy film Kick-Ass as part of actor Aaron Johnson’s superhero costume. While Knightley used the shoes to bring out a feminine, free-spirited look, Johnson’s character Dave Lizewski wears Timberland Premium Boots to portray an everyday American youth struggling to become more than an average Joe pushover.

Movie star, Mark Wahlberg, was also recently seen in a pair of Timberlands while walking out and about with his family in Los Angeles, proving that Timberlands are just about the most versatile shoe around. Made a short trip to Jakarta and got a chance to watch my favourite Jazz performers on Jakarta International Java Jazz 2012 around last week. This is a 3-day festivals, but I went on Friday March 2nd. They have numerous performers each day in different stage on the specified timing, so we can go around from one stage to another to see our favourite.

My favourite acoustic group Depapepe デパペペ by Miura Takuya and Tokuoka Yoshinari

Bruce Hamada. His music is so relaxing, i can imagine it playing on a fancy romantic dinner.

All performers are brilliant and I really enjoy the event. We arrived at about 6 pm and go on until about 12. Although it is a bit tiring but of course it is worth it and time does fly when you have a good time.

A meeting after the longest time we haven't seen each other. Sit talking up all evening, exchanging greetings, asking what's been changing after all this while. We are all good and although the feeling has left, maybe there will not be a replacement for the space that you took; we care for each other like old friends.

Don't you remember when you're younger you prayed that there will be a way that someone you like will some sort of like you back? In the other hand, as you grow up, you will just pray that someone will find their other half and just be happy- even if it's without you.

First post in the new year! Decided to give a bit of holiday season glam on my first outfit post. 2011 has been amazing with the good and the bad, and i can't wait to see what 2012 brings! Had my first photoshoot in 2012 today and i still have several days till internship ends before school starts next week.

Received this piece from Motel Rocks on Christmas, another twist for my LBD collection, black sequins dress with bodycon cut. Motel Rocks is a UK based online websites with different types of edgy clothings for the urban fashionista and this dress is part of their newest collection. It is just perfect for the party season, as it has good material quality but is not warm, great for Singapore's weather

The back has a bit low cut detail which i really love. I think it looks great without revealing too much. The length falls perfectly on me, just above the knee. Haven't worn this dress out yet, but i know it will happen soon!

Took these photos with natural light in my room plus adding a bit of flash towards the end since it turned out to be drizzling outside.

I don't really have new year resolution, or haven't really listed it out yet (so late), except i want to travel more this year. How was your New Year eve? Let's embrace 2012!

In the festive season, i am reminded that I am able to have and enjoy all of this is only because of His grace. Christmas was great mostly because of the loving people, (apart from the sumptoous food and drinks). They are seriously heartwarming, as I am not going back to hometown for this holiday, but they make me feel like home.

Hope you all enjoyed Christmas as much as i did.

Life's been great at the moment, in fact i have never feel so alive. It was been hell of a week in the mid of november. Imagine piles of school work, interning in office hour, events to attend, and another freelance projects. But now, school projects have been submitted and currently focusing on my internship. The second show of Women's Fashion Week 2011 is Christophe Josse who recently joins the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in January 2011. He has worked under major fashion houses for 15 years and in 2005 he created a collection under his name, in both couture and ready to wear.

What is presented that night is his most recent 2011 fall winter couture collection. Models walked down the runway with blonde bob hairstyle, giving the 60's chic short hairstyle look.

(one of the look that i like: Hard shell silver python dress crimped with black wool.)

He explored various range of fabric materials from satin to high quality muslin and organza, wool, mixed with tweed and embroidery, sequins details, also some metallic fabric.

(my most favourite flowy gown: Evening dress in Prussian blue muslin, threaded with silver fiber, armor embroidered shoulders)

As what we can see, his creations screams for romantic, sensual, and delicate silhouette anchored in modernity. I would name him as my dream wedding dress maker since I love pieces that is simple, but has gorgeous details. It is grand but not too loud.

A brief outfit post of what i wear in WFW day 3

BCBG Max Azria dress. Zara clutch. Swarovski necklace. gifted + Madame Butterfly bracelet. Aldo shoes.

Went with romantic oufit theme that night, but still keeping it simple. Rarely wear something with embroidery details but i guess it's okay to try. Topeed it up with minimal make up. Eye shadow from sephora and revlon, Topshop eye liner, and Sephora mascara and nude sparkly gloss, OPI nail polish, and my messy look wavy hair.

also me and Denny went for dinner at High Society restaurant at Marina Bay Sands after the fashion show. High Society restaurant established under the High Society record label established since 2006, founded by That CD Shop and awarded Singapore Prestige Brand Award in 2010.

the drink name is Lie Cheat: lychee mint cocktail.

Their fetucini carbonara al funghi is so delicious. the cream is just perfect for my taste and the mushroom is cooked with nice texture.

a warm and elegant interior with red, white, and brown as its main colour theme, reminds me of a theater performance stage.

our tiramisu dessert which acts as Denny's little birthday cake lol. Love its fluffiness, but i wish they add a bit of stronger coffee taste.

WFW 2011 couture Eymeric François

It's day 3 in Women's Fashion Week 2011, but Eymeric François is beeing the first show that I attended. I saw his designs online,but the real garment is soo much better, I was literally blown away. The BLACKOLLECTION is a compilation of his 32 couture creations over the years which dominant colour is black. With the thumping beat from gothic- alternative music, outfits are showcased on the runway one after another.

He has been showing his couture collection in Paris since July 2000, after being assistant in fashion houses of Thierry Mugler and Christian Lacroix. He launched bridal collection in November 2008 and ready to wear in October 2010.

His fashion show is a showcase where fairy tales become women’s reality. He plays with a lot of embellishment like embroidery, intricate lace, and crystals mostly on silk crepe, sateen, and wool.

Models are sculpted in corset and gowns which show sensual silhouette. There is a sense of gothic inspiration married with the exquisite details, well-fitted and elegance of couture.

Nikicio Mixte le printemps 2012

Showed at The Goods Dept. earlier this month, Nina Nikicio's latest creation has become the favourite and created buzz among the regular customers, bloggers, and fashionista alike.

Being the 7th collection of the Mixté, the main prêt-a-porter line, it is inspired by the whole subculture of skateboarders- the vibe, movement, and the attitude itself, and Trompe-l'œil -the art technique involving imagery creating optical illusion which makes flat object looks three dimensional.

Those inspirations gave birth to Nina very own version of the Norwegian knit, which is scanned and digital-printed on silk; giving the juxtapose of something heavy printed on a light, luxurious fabric. Such an interesting way to interpret Trompe-l'œil for fabric manipulation in fashion. The print is then used in pajamas, jacket, and scarf.

The collections are made of fabrics such as modal jerseys, soft baby goat and lamb leather, fine knitted cotton and wool, and also manipulated fabric of hand washed chambray and bleached denim. The main colour theme is monochromatic range as usual.

This time, Nikicio teamed up with Kandura ceramic to create something different which is porcelain beads made of bone china with transparent glaze for the outerwears and accesories like seen in above picture. It adds one of a kind three dimensional embellishment on the piece.

Although i missed the show in Jakarta, but I am still anticipating to get my hands on the latest collection. I hope Blackmarket SG will stock it soon! What i'm eyeing the most is the maxi skirt above and the shorts on the first picture, they will be awesome to be worn to events or styled down for a simple polished look.

That evening, monsieur Alexis Mabille himself present the collection and gave explanation of his pieces. He incorporated beautiful details on the garment but also keep it simple at the same time, which I found exquisite.

rewinding september

Even it's only since beginning of term in August, there are too many things i have missed and i start to question myself. I didn't get to see my cousin's happiest face on her wedding, when my best friends blow his and her 20th candle, when my best friend broke up, when my aunt passed away, or being so faraway when mom needs someone to accompany. Maybe it's true that it's beloved people smile in the distance that i miss the most. Besides, there are so many things i want to say but it's all stuck in my chest.

People say that the world is on your fingertips, all your beloved people is just a BBM away. Unfortunately for me, it's not true. A hug when you feel weary, a pat on the shoulder, and a subtle kiss makes a whole lot difference. I always want do that whenever someone needs me, but all i can say is cheering up words with several emoticons, or an express phone call in the midst of rushing for a photoshoot. All i want is to do is to sit together, spending hours or even a day, and not get up from my seat until they feel better.

I get to fly back to Jakarta for five days last month. I crave for more, but it's better than nothing. It's not enough of course, since there are many things i want to do. And when you think it's a vacation, you're absolutely wrong, i bring along my work to be done there.

The fall winter collection of Dolce and Gabbana intrigues me, the blend of androgyonus style and stardust attack is like no other. At first, when we think abot it, star prints may look tacky, but the fashion house show us how to pull them off.

I found this skirt on thrifted store while I acompanied my friend, we passed by Woman Council in Bras Basah and they are having kind of bazaar. I saw this star printed piece at a glance and it still has a new tag on it, but that day i scored it with only sgd$ 1.5 yes 1 point 5, my cheapest buy so far, i couldn't be more happier.

pair it with black blazer and a pair of loafers for androgyny hint.

tips on wearing star prints piece:

As a start, choose a neutral colour piece and smaller prints. When you get used to it, get bigger prints.

Following the success of 2011 Singapore Men's Fashion Week, the Women's Fashion Week will showcase the couture designs from well known couturier, namely Stephane Roland, Gustavo Lins, and other 7 couturiers. Haute Couture fashion week is held as part of the exciting lineup to boost Singapore fashion scene which currently being in 8th position of the fashion capitals around the world.

"Haute Couture showcase in Singapore is not only about the retail or marketing aspects, but to preserve the couture deign itself and to introduce it to the citizens," explains WFW Chairman, Frank Cintamani.

top 3 obsessions from New York Fashion Week

Prabal Gurung

Various type of prints spread like a wild fire on the New York Fashion Week runway, but Prabal Gurung really know how to pull them off on the right amount. Mixed with chic blazer and basics, it can be one of your favourite ensemble. The choice of fabric is also alluring, from silk to sateen all in finely tailored cutting. Oh and not forgetting to mention the evening gown that surely will roam next season's red carpet.

Yigal Azrouel

Minimalistic, clean cut, yet giving a statement, it's all his ss2012 about. Not very surprising as the theme is a continuation from previous season, but of course Mr. Azrouel always add his exciting twist. Wide leg pants in lightweight fabric paired with chic blazer is one of my favourite fashion staples. Besides that, everybody needs a little splash of colour don't we?

Theyskens' Theory

What Olivier Theyskens infused for Theory is a collection of understated elegance. His collection is really one of those that I would gladly wear everyday because I know it screams 'me'. Dominated with monochromatic colour, the variety choice of materials are all crafted to create minimalistic and edgy look. Really what's not to love?
