There is one very happy Mum on the planet today. Her husband organised a secret mini session with me and then ordered the following image as a canvas to give his wife on her birthday. What a guy! This piece of art will take pride of place in their lounge room, and will put a smile on many faces as their family celebrate this gorgeous girl! I have a large canvas of Coco taken 3 years ago, and it makes me smile every time I walk past. I can’t think of another piece of art that could possibly have the same effect. Happy Birthday Rachel.

To celebrate my absolute obsession with perfect light, I am currently booking mini sessions on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons starting at 4:15pm. These sessions have a $100 session fee, must be held at my house, (where these images was taken) last only 20 minutes, and provide you with 15 – 20 proofs to choose from. You then have the option of choosing from my Mini Session Packages that start at $250. The $100 session fee can also be used as a credit towards your chosen package. Email me for a full price list.

Fundraiser ~ Canberra Child Photographer

My heart has been touched by 2 couragous children battling Neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of Cancer. I will be holding a fundraiser for Ryan and Olivia where 100% of the profits will go to their families whose lives have simply been turned upside down.

Little Sunshine Photography while helping these gorgeous little children, can also help you grab a Fathers Day present Dad will be sure to LOVE!

Sessions will take place at my outdoor home studio in Torrens, during the week beginning Monday 23 August. Click here to check current availablilty.

Rocking Horse Music ~ Canberra Children’s Photographer

I had the pleasure of photographing the fun that is Rocking Horse Music on Thursday. I have had a harder than usual time deciding which images to share as the chosen images needed to make music, which is obviously a challenge for a solely visual medium. I have finally decided that only those who have experienced Rocking Horse Music truly understand what an amazing environment it is, one that has given my own children the best start in life. Using music as a springboard Emma and her staff supports Children build social interactions, sparks their creativity and helps them make essential numeracy and literacy connections. My own fabulous 3 ~ Canberra Family Photographer

It feels like it has been a little while since I shared a few images of my own children. They are full of spark and such great fun in all their different ways. I simply love the following images as they speak volumes of the fabulous job Reece is doing being the cheeky baby brother of our family, as only a 2 year old can. Lucky for him we all adore him!

We are off to the coast next week to spend a week replenishing for the busy months ahead. I will have my phone and access to email, but may just be a tad slower than normal.

I also love that they can strike a pose when required. The perfect photographers children!

Newborn Boom! ~ Canberra Baby Photographer

I have had a treat this week photographing 2 of the most gorgeous little girls. Here is one of them being as perfect as they come! Isn’t she just divine? She loved my cosy warm studio and thought my comfy basket was fabulous to snooze in. Can’t you tell?

Also, just a reminder for future clients that newborn photography is best done within the first 2 weeks of birth. This is when the babies can be posed easily and curl up just as they did in the womb. This little girl will celebrate her 1 week birthday tomorrow and is in my opinion the ideal age. My diary fills up quickly, and although I always try to find room for newborns it is not always possible. If you are expecting and are planning on capturing the fleeting moments of your babies first weeks it is best to be booked with me before you have your baby so I know generally where to leave room in my diary and can be sure to fit you in.

Finally, I have sat here for half an hour deciding on which style of processing to show of the following image. I love the colour because I love the natural tones of the green with her perfectly smooth skin. I of course, love a newborn B&W portrait too. It is just so classic and most newborn images are black and white for this reason. I have chosen to stop wasting time and post both. I’m not sure which my client will prefer, it’s a tricky choice.

I had a blast photographing this fabulous family this afternoon. The weather was truly on our side, as although it was a little chilly the light was perfect! We all know how much I love a little sunshine in my photography.

These two images define my style perfectly. I like to capture families doing the ordinary in a beautiful setting. This is what this family does everyday, this is how this family interacts with each other. I could not capture images like this in a clients lounge room as I have less control over the background and most importantly the light. I’m also pretty sure Children are not allowed to jump on their lounge at home like this! Instead, when creating images I choose a focal point, in this instance the lounge, take it somewhere magical, here I chose one of the many mountains in Canberra and create a piece of art.

Newborn Perfection ~ Canberra Newborn Photographer

I have been so busy with Family sessions recently, many may have forgotten that I am a newborn photographer. I had such a lovely time today, admiring the pure innocence of this little one. She was just perfection wrapped up in a blanket knitted by her grandmother, I couldn’t go past this one to blog.

The best news for this little one is she has a gorgeous big sister to lead her way. Just like my girls I can see these 2 becoming the best of friends. Thank you J and P, and of course little L and G, enjoy your sneak peek.

I had the pleasure of photographing this fabulous family as they anticipate their fourth child. The 3 children they already have are simple adorable, I can’t wait to meet and photograph their newest addition, due in a few weeks.

I had the pleasure of photographing this very ‘in love’ couple in some divine winter light this afternoon. The light during winter in Canberra is so soft and gorgeous, I just love it! Their session was a gift to celebrate their Engagement. Congratulations to you both, I know you have a wonderful future in front of you!

On another note, I am taking on restricted sessions over the winter months to concentrate on my family and the admin part of my business. I am available for newborns through this time, however for Family and Child sessions I am now booking into September, where there are only 2 weekend sessions left. If you were hoping for a session with me, you really need to book soon as I expect spring to fill up quickly.
