I have known Casondra Willis for years. We met at church, then again across the Walmart Vision Center counter. Casondra serves her community with the kind of warmth that stops you in your tracks.

Over time, I came alongside her as a friend, watching her trust God through hard seasons, pour herself into every client she serves, and build something quietly extraordinary in Lake County.

She has always lived these words. On January 1, 2026, she finally named them. This feature is her story, told in her own words, on her terms. I am honored to push her up.

Who Is Casondra Willis?

Some women find their purpose. And some women step into it, even when they cannot see where they are going, even when the boat is rocking, even when they have survived two car accidents on the drive toward a degree they were not sure they could finish.

Casondra Willis is the latter woman.

She is a Licensed Dispensing Optician, the founder of CazConnector Mobile Optician Services in Lake County, Florida, and in the words of a local pastor who watched her work, a minister. Casondra accepts that title with precision: she is a minister of love. God's love.

The Prayer That Started It All

Before there was CazConnector, there was a woman on her knees.

Casondra spent eighteen years as a medical records coordinator, moving through hospitals and doctors' offices with skill and dedication. But the work wore on her, not because she lacked the ability, but because the environment did not honor what she brought to it.

I got tired of being cursed out. That's just not my personality. You get to a point of saying, Lord, this career is really not for me. - Casondra Willis

So she prayed a specific and personal request:

Lord, I want to work with people that appreciate me and what I can bring to them. That was my prayer. -Casondra Willis

Then one day at work in 2007, she felt the Holy Spirit tell her to write her resignation letter. She describes it the way only someone who has truly heard from God can describe it — as a hand reaching out of a boat, an invitation to step out into water she could not see, with a promise that she would be amazed at where He would take her.

She stepped out.

She went home and just started cleaning out her closet. It’s as though she was clearing space when she was introduced to a career field she had never heard of…

Opticianry.

"I told her I've never heard of that before. She asked me to put in an application. I did. I got hired. And if I had tried to reason my way out of it — oh no, I just turned in my resignation, I need a break — it would have slipped right past me. But it happened just like that."

Casondra apprenticed and studied. Then, at fifty years old, she drove to Tampa to earn her Applied Associate of Science degree in Opticianry. Casondra survived two car accidents on those drives, and yet she kept going.

As a caregiver to her parents, their health journeys made her urgency about eye care deeply personal.

Both of her parents developed glaucoma. Her father lost his sight entirely before he passed. By the time he sought treatment, it was too far gone. Her mother lives with advanced glaucoma today. That urgency permanently embedded itself in Casondra: early detection saves sight. And no one should lose what could have been preserved.

Casondra shares with the responsibility and conviction of one who cares…

“When optometrists or ophthalmologists dilate your eyes, they are checking your optic nerves. Many diseases can be discovered through a comprehensive eye exam, not just glaucoma, but conditions tied to diabetes, high blood pressure, and more.”

Casondra urges everyone, especially those with a family history of eye disease, to get a comprehensive exam every one to two years. For those already managing an eye condition, every six months to a year. Glaucoma is genetic. It does not wait.

That urgency never left her. And when the world shut down, it gave her a door.

When the World Stopped, She Kept Moving

After nearly two decades at Walmart Vision Centers, Casondra watched the COVID-19 pandemic reveal an urgent and unmet need. People who needed their prescriptions filled could not — or would not — come in. Seniors. Homebound individuals. People recovering from surgery. People who simply could not get there.

"I thought...this is an opportunity for me to help within my community. And it is still needed today."

CazConnector was born from that conviction. Casondra loads her portable frame display, her measurement tools, her repair kit — all of it — and brings the full optical experience directly to her clients. No waiting rooms. No parking lots. No barriers.

Casondra also partners with local optometrists and ophthalmologists whose patients live in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other settings where coming into the office is not possible. She takes measurements, assists with frame selection, places the order, delivers the glasses, fits them, and follows up. Every detail, handled.

Minister of Love: Beyond the Prescription

One day, a local pastor was looking at frames in the Vision Center. He paused as Casondra served a customer with her full attention, warmth, and precision. The customer asked, "Are you a minister?"

She laughed and said no. The pastor said, "Yes, you are."

"I said: I am a minister of love. Love is Jesus. I am an agent out in the field."

For a neighbor recovering from multiple back surgeries...unable to load himself into a car, living with constant pain...Casondra showed up and repaired his glasses right there at his kitchen table. She built a relationship that day that goes far beyond a single transaction.

"When I'm helping a person to see, I am helping a person to see. Literally. But it also opens and expands their viewpoint of themselves and their lives."

Facilitating the Open Door to Your Business Success

There is a difference between being delayed and being prepared, and most women in a waiting season cannot tell which one they're in.

That perspective causes incorrect assumptions and behaviors.

From the inside, delay and preparation feel almost identical. Both involve waiting and uncertainty. Both can produce frustration, self-doubt, and the fear that maybe God forgot about you or moved on to someone more qualified.

But they are not the same thing. The woman who learns to tell the difference moves through her season completely different than the woman who confuses the two.

Delay is Passive, While Preparation is Active.

A delay is a pause with no purpose attached to it. It's a red light. You stop and wait, then you go when it changes. Nothing in you is required to grow during a delay. You just wait it out.

Preparation is different. Preparation is God doing something in you that has to happen before what He's doing through you can be sustained.

Think about that for a moment.

If God released the fullness of what He has for you right now, today, in this season, would you be a good steward of it? Perhaps you would receive it. Would you be able to protect it and build on it? Would you lead well and steward it properly?.

For most of us, if we're honest, the answer is not yet.

Then this creates an amazing opportunity for us.

What Preparation Actually Looks Like

Ladies, we can get confused because preparation may not look productive. It doesn't always look like forward movement. Sometimes preparation looks like stillness or loss. And other times it feels like a season that appears to be going backwards.

Joseph spent years in a pit and a prison before he stood in the palace. David was anointed king, then went back to tending sheep. Esther spent months in preparation before she ever stood before the king.

None of those seasons looked like progress from the outside. Yet, every single one of them was essential.

What was happening in those seasons was impossible to understand in the moment. But those periods of time were the building of character, discernment, resilience, and faith that the next assignment would require.

God doesn't waste a season. Not one.

The Question That Changes Everything

Instead of asking "Why is this taking so long?", which is a normal question, ask this:

What is God building in me right now that my next season is going to need?

That question reorients everything. It shifts you from passive waiting to active participation. It gives your current season a purpose even when the outcome isn't visible yet.

And it keeps you from doing the most dangerous thing a woman in a waiting season can do. It keeps you from rushing ahead of God to manufacture an outcome He never authorized.

Reevaluate Your Position

Listen to me.

Regardless of the way it looks, God has not forgotten you. The women around you who appear to be further along are not proof that God skipped you. They’re on their own timeline with their assignment and their preparation season that you didn't see.

Your season is on time for you. You’re on God's time.

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. -Ecclesiastes 3:1

He knew the season you'd be in right now before you were born. He built the preparation into the plan. That may be hard to understand, but it doesn’t change the fact that God knows. He sees, and you’re not alone.

What To Do While You Wait

Stay in the Word. Stay connected with your community. Stay faithful to what's in front of you right now. Instead of focusing on the assignment you're waiting for, focus on the assignment you already have.

And give yourself permission to stop responding to those feelings that everything is urgent. Be the woman who is genuinely trusting God in your preparation season, who holds a particular kind of peace. You don’t need all the answers because you know the One who has them.

That peace is available to you. Right now. In this season.

There is a moment nobody warns you about.

It comes after the career ends, after the marriage changes, the children leave, or the title is gone. It shows up after the season you built your whole identity around, quietly closes its door.

And you're standing there wondering…who am I now?

For some, it appears dramatically, but for others, it's subtle. You wake up one morning and realize the role that organized your days, your decisions, and your sense of purpose, is no longer the thing holding you together. And without it, you feel unsteady in a way you didn't expect.

Some see it as a weakness. I see the transition, and that’s one of the hardest things a woman will ever navigate. Because nobody gives you a roadmap for it.

The Danger Zone Nobody Talks About

I’ve walked through multiple transitions myself, and what I can say for sure is the most dangerous moment isn't when everything falls apart. Even though it can be a difficult season. It's the quiet season right after, when the dust settles, and you have to decide who you're going to be now.

Because in that space, if you're not careful, you'll reach for the nearest available identity. It could be a new role, a relationship, or a new title. You could easily grab something to organize yourself around again.

Listen, there's nothing wrong with moving forward. But if you skip the step where you reconnect with who God says you are…the woman separate from any role, any title, or season…you'll build the next chapter on an unstable foundation.

My friend said something to me recently that stopped me cold. She's in the early stages of a major transition right now, and she said this to me, “I’m determined not to lose myself in this.”

That determination is everything. Because the women who come through transitions whole are not the ones who avoided the hard middle. They're the ones who decided before they got there that their identity wasn't going anywhere.

But how? That’s the question.

What the Bible Shows Us About Identity in Transition

Scripture is full of women who faced the moment when the role disappeared.

Naomi lost her husband and both sons. Ruth lost her husband and her homeland. The woman at the well had built her life around relationships that kept leaving her empty.

None of these ladies was defined by what they lost. But each of them had to walk through a season of not knowing what came next before the next thing revealed itself.

What held them wasn't a new role. It was being anchored. A decision, whether conscious or not, that who they were went deeper than what they did or who they were connected to.

That anchor is available to you, too. Right now. In the middle of whatever transition you're navigating.

The Easiest Way Not to Get Lost

I won't overcomplicate this because the answer is much simpler than we make it.

Stay anchored to what doesn't change.

Your roles will change. Your relationships will shift. Your seasons will end and begin again. But who God says you are…chosen, purposed, loved, equipped…that doesn't move.

The practical version looks something like this:

1. Going back to the Word before you go looking for answers anywhere else. It’s your source of truth. God has something to say about your next season, and He's not withholding it.

2. Slowing down before you speed up. In transition, the instinct is to move fast, fix fast, and replace fast. We don’t want to wait. But, resist the need for speed to fill that void. The woman who pauses long enough to hear God clearly moves with more precision than the woman who rushes.

3. Being honest about where you actually are. Not where you think you should be. Not where you were; where you are right now. God meets you there, not in the version of yourself that’s performing for everyone else.

4. Surrounding yourself with women who are building something real. Avoid women who will tell you what you want to hear. Find and connect with women who will remind you of who you are when you forget. Hear me, you will most likely forget because transitions are not easy.

Reframe

You’re Not Starting Over. You’re Starting From Experience.

Every transition you've walked through has deposited something in you.

• Wisdom.

• Resilience.

• Discernment.

• A deeper understanding of how God moves.

That doesn't disappear when the role does. It comes with you into every next season.

The woman you are right now, in the middle of this transition, determined not to lose herself, is not less than who you were before. She's more. She just hasn't seen the full picture yet.

And that's okay. Because God has.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.

— Jeremiah 29:11

He's not confused about your next season, even when you are.

Some women carry their calling so naturally that you recognize it before they speak a word about it. That is how it was when I met Jennifer George in Orlando.

Her handshake was firm. Her posture was certain. And when she began to speak about the girls she was building platforms for…in Florida, in Jamaica, in communities whose names the world may never know…she spoke the way people speak when they have already settled the question of whether what they are doing matters.

She is a reminder that God created us on purpose, for purpose. She lives it.

That encounter is why Pushing Up Women exists. We hold up women through whom God is moving, so that every woman reading their story might catch a glimpse of what is possible for herself.

Jennifer George is this series’ first cover story. She has earned it because every accolade is in service of something larger than herself.

Who Is Jennifer George?

There are athletes who play the game well. And then there are athletes who realize the game was always preparing them for more.

Jennifer George is the second kind.

A proud alumna of the University of Florida, Jennifer became the 11th Gator in program history to score 1,000 points, cementing her legacy as one of the most dominant inside presences in the history of Florida Gators women’s basketball. The distinction of SEC legend became a part of her foundation and she was drafted by the Indiana Fever WNBA Team.

Jennifer represented her Country well, playing for the Jamaican National Women’s Basketball team, where she led her Country to a Gold medal in the Caribbean Championship.

Then the season changed. And Jennifer George showed us who she had been all along.

More than an accomplished athlete, Jennifer is a proven leader whose life reflects what happens when a woman of faith refuses to let her gifts stop at the final whistle. Her platform was always a starting line, never a finish.

Did you read that? She’s an SEC legend. And she chose to come back for the next generation.

Building What Lasts

In 2021, Jennifer founded the Girls Basketball Worldwide Foundation (GBWF), a nonprofit organization whose name tells you everything about the scale of her vision.

The GBWF was built on a simple but powerful belief that basketball is a language that every girl deserves the opportunity to speak. GBWF is dedicated to uplifting under-resourced communities through basketball development and holistic support for girls.

Through the foundation’s signature “Hoops In” Clinics, established in the DMV and Gainesville areas, girls experience basketball from women currently playing at the next level. The clinics incorporate a mentorship segment featuring the CHAMP For Life Curriculum for Student Athletes, developed by Winners Win Inc. This partnership produced a successful pilot that yielded valuable feedback and helped shape a well-designed program equipping student-athletes for both sports and life.

The GBWF has partnered with the Georgetown Women’s Basketball Team and the University of Florida Women’s Basketball Team. These partnerships give young girls instruction and vision for life and basketball.

And the reach does not stop at the American shoreline. Through her global outreach in Jamaica, Jennifer’s work supports her homeland by refurbishing a basketball court to create safe, empowering spaces where young athletes can grow, compete, and dream bigger.

Each event sparks excitement. But more importantly, each one instills discipline, resilience, and belief. And belief changes trajectories.

Scholarships, Fundraising, and Community Support

Jennifer and her team also host fundraising initiatives that expand the foundation’s reach and deepen its impact.

Among the most moving of these is the annual “Greens for Hoops” Golf Scramble. This multi-day event brings together athletes, sponsors, and community supporters to raise funds for continued outreach and scholarship support.

The 2024 Markeshia Grant Scholarship

During the 2024 event, the Girls Basketball Worldwide Foundation awarded its inaugural Markeshia Grant Scholarship. Tierra C. from Wekiva High School was the honored recipient, a young woman chosen for her performance on the court and for the character she has already begun to build off it.

The 2025 Taneka Rubin Scholarship Award

In 2025, the celebration focused on community, connection, and purpose. Arianna V. was the recipient of the Taneka Rubin Scholarship Award…four thousand dollars ($4000), awarded to honor an athlete who exemplified perseverance, leadership, and a passion for sports.

These scholarships fund tuition and so much more. They communicate to young women that their effort has been witnessed, that their futures are worth investing in, and that the ecosystem of women committed to empowering the next generation is real, active, and growing.

Looking Ahead: The Bay Games 2026

Building on the momentum of previous years, the event continues to grow and evolve. In 2026, Jennifer and the Girls Basketball Worldwide Foundation are expanding the experience through The Bay Games, an interactive, team-based golf event designed to bring together athletes, supporters, and community partners.

The Bay Games blends TrackMan-powered golf challenges with friendly competition and community connection, welcoming participants of all skill levels while raising support for the foundation’s mission to empower young female athletes.

The event will also mark Year Two of the Taneka Rubin Scholarship, continuing the commitment to recognizing young women who demonstrate leadership, perseverance, academic excellence, and a passion for the game. Athletes may apply for the scholarship here.

Sponsors and community supporters are invited to participate as the foundation continues building opportunities for the next generation.

A Leader On and Off the Court

When I met Jennifer in Orlando, her handshake was firm, and she exuded confidence. I recognized something in the way she carried herself, the combination of humility and pride that belongs only to women who have done the hard work and chosen to do it again, differently, for someone else.

She shared her foundation’s mission with the quiet certainty of a woman who has already seen what is possible when girls are given access, mentorship, and belief.

How could we possibly have gotten this wrong?

For so long, many of us have read about the Proverbs 31 woman and we exit stage left feeling that we cannot measure up to that standard.

Because how could one woman possibly do all that’s described in those few verses. It’s overwhelming just reading about how perfect she was.

Well, it depends on the lens we choose to look through. Because what if we've been missing one of the most practical lessons she teaches us?

The Proverbs 31 woman didn't just work hard. She worked smart. And one of the smartest things she did was build multiple streams of income that worked together.

But, Ladies, she didn’t do it all at once. This is her lifetime, not just one moment in her life.

Let's break down what she actually did and what it means for Christian women building wealth today.

She Didn't Have One Job. She Had a Portfolio.

Read Proverbs 31:13-24 and you'll see something remarkable. This woman had at least four distinct income streams.

Stream 1: Textile Production (v. 13, 19)

"She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands… In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers."

She made fabric. That's production. She created something from raw materials and turned it into a sellable product.

Stream 2: Real Estate Investment (v. 16)

"She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard."

She didn't just buy land for fun. She bought it as an investment and planted a vineyard to generate ongoing revenue. That's passive income developed through strategic decision-making.

Stream 3: Product Sales (v. 24)

"She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes."

She created finished goods and sold them to merchants. That's wholesale. She wasn't just making things for her family. She was running a business.

Stream 4: Agricultural Products (v. 16)

That vineyard she planted? It produces grapes, which become wine, which gets sold. Another revenue stream from the same investment.

Four streams. One woman. And here's the key, they weren't random.

Her Income Streams Worked Together

The Proverbs 31 woman wasn't juggling four completely unrelated businesses. Her income streams had synergy.

• The land she bought (real estate) produced grapes (agriculture).

• The wool and flax she worked with (textile production) became garments (product sales).

• Her skills in one area fed her success in another.

She wasn't scattered. She was strategic.

And that's the model we're called to follow…not hustle culture chaos, but intentional, interconnected income streams that honor God and use the talents He gave us.

What This Looks Like for You

You don't need to buy land or make linen garments.

But you do need to understand that God didn't give you one talent. He gave you a portfolio of skills that can work together to create wealth.

Here's what that might look like for a Christian woman entrepreneur today:

Example 1: The Writer

• Stream 1: Freelance copywriting (active income)

• Stream 2: Email courses teaching writing (passive income)

• Stream 3: Affiliate income from writing tools she recommends

• Stream 4: Coaching writers who want to go pro

All four streams are connected. She's not jumping from real estate to baking to consulting. She's building on what she's already good at.

Example 2: The Ministry Leader

• Stream 1: Speaking at events (active income)

• Stream 2: Online course on leadership (passive income)

• Stream 3: Book sales (royalty income)

• Stream 4: Consulting for churches or nonprofits

Again, strategic synergy.

There's a particular kind of poverty that has nothing to do with your bank account.

I've seen it in women who've achieved everything they set out to build—the successful business, the financial freedom, the influence, the platform—only to wake up one day and realize something's missing. Not gratitude or generosity. But purpose. They've been so focused on building bigger barns that they forgot to ask: "What am I building this for? And who does it really belong to?"

The parable of the rich fool in Luke 12 isn't a story about a bad man. It's a story about a successful man who made one critical mistake: he built everything for himself and nothing for God. His barns overflowed. His future looked secure. His plans were solid.

And yet God called him a fool.

Not because he was wealthy. And not because he was successful. But because he wasn't rich toward God.

What does that mean?

And what does it mean for those of us who are building businesses, creating wealth, pursuing influence, and trying to honor God while doing it? What does it actually look like to be rich toward God instead of just financially successful?

When Success Becomes the Bigger Barn

Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ (Luke 12:16-17)

Here's what strikes me about this man: he had a legitimate problem. His success was real. His harvest was abundant. He wasn't a con artist or a thief. He was good at what he did. So good that his storage couldn't contain his blessing.

The problem wasn't the abundance. The problem was his response to it.

So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”

Luke 12:18-19

I. I. I. My. My. My.

Every pronoun pointed back to himself. Every plan centered on his comfort. Every resource is stored for his future security. He saw abundance and thought, "Now I can finally rest. Now I can take care of me."

He never once asked, "God, what do You want me to do with this extra?"

And that's when God spoke:

But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

Luke 12:20-21

NOT RICH TOWARD GOD

The harsh truth? You can build an empire and still be broke in the things that matter. You can have financial success and spiritual bankruptcy. You can construct bigger barns while God is waiting for you to open a door.

Where Your Treasure Lives, Your Heart Follows

You may think the goal is to make enough money so you can be generous. Get the business profitable, then give back. Build financial security, then think about Kingdom impact.

But Jesus flips that completely:

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.Your heart doesn't lead your treasure. Your treasure leads your heart.

Matthew 6:19-21

If you're investing everything into earthly security—the retirement account, the savings, the assets, the "one day when I'm comfortable" plans—that's where your heart will be. If you're building businesses just to build wealth for yourself, your heart will stay locked in those barns with your goods.

But if you're investing in eternal things—people, Kingdom work, generational impact, service, good works—your heart will be there too. Right where God is.

That's treasure in heaven. That's richness toward God. That's the difference between building bigger barns and building Kingdom infrastructure.

Rich in Good Works, Not Just Good Fortune

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

1 Timothy 6:17-19

Notice Paul doesn't tell wealthy people to feel guilty or to get rid of their wealth. He tells them to use it differently. Be rich in good works. Be ready to share. Be willing to distribute. Trust God, not your bank account.

Being rich toward God isn't about how much you have. It's about what you do with what you have.

Not to be rich toward God is to have much, and it’s what you do with what you have.

I think about the women I want to serve through Inspired Eagle—women building businesses, creating platforms, writing books, and leading movements. The question isn't "Are you making money?" It's "What are you making money for?"

Are you building so you can hoard? Or building so you can distribute?

Are you creating wealth so you can take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry? Or creating wealth so you can employ, empower, and elevate the next generation?

Are you rich in possessions or rich in impact?

The rich fool had abundance. But he wasn't rich in good works. He wasn't ready to distribute. He wasn't willing to communicate or share. He had goods laid up—and a soul that was required.

True Wealth Is What Survives Your Last Breath

Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Luke 12:33-34

Here's the sobering truth the parable forces us to face: One day, God will require your soul. And on that day, all the barns you built, all the goods you stored, all the security you accumulated—none of it goes with you.

Would God have required the rich man’s life at that time? We don’t know for sure. But God called Him a fool for the way he handled his wealth. And that was that.

What I do know is this…

The only thing that survives is what you invested in eternity.

The people you employed. The Kingdom work you funded. The doors you opened. The people you mentored. The platforms you built that amplified God's voice. The businesses you created that served communities. The legacy you left that points back to Him.

That's the treasure that doesn't fade. That's the wealth that can't be stolen. That's being rich toward God.

I don't want to build bigger barns because I have so much and am unwilling to take care of God’s Kingdom. I want to build tables where people can feast. I don't want to store goods for myself alone. I want to create opportunities for others. I don't want my daughters and son to inherit my money and miss my mission.

I want them to see a woman who understood that everything she built belonged to God, was resourced by God, and existed to serve God's purposes.

That's true wealth.

Pausing For You

Take a moment with these questions:

• If God required your soul tonight, what would happen to everything you've built? Who would it serve? Would it continue Kingdom work or just become someone else's inheritance?

• Are you building bigger barns for personal security, or building for collective impact?

• Where is your treasure actually invested? Not where you say it is—where your bank statements, your calendar, and your energy prove it is?

• What would change if you truly believed that being rich toward God matters more than being rich in the world?

You don't have to choose between success and spirituality. But you do have to choose your purpose.

The rich fool chose himself. And lost everything.

You can choose God. And gain what lasts forever.

You're not building too much. You're building the wrong things.

And deep down, you already know it.

You can feel it in the exhaustion that no amount of coffee fixes. In the hollow victories that look impressive on social media but leave you empty. In the businesses that succeed on paper but drain your soul.

After years of building—some with success, others that burned me out—I've learned this:

The issue isn't what we're building. It's whether we've secured agreement with God before we start constructing.

I call this Covenant Before Construction. And it changes everything.

Because here's the truth about women who build: We're not lazy. We're not "doing too much." We're wired to execute. God made us this way. We're builders by design.

We charge forward, build, create, fix, and carry—not because we're reckless, but because we're capable. We say yes to everything because we can. We build other people's visions because we're good at it. We construct impressive things that look successful from the outside.

But here's the question women who build rarely ask:

Has God agreed to this?

We launch offers because the opportunity appeared. We build businesses because we're capable. We create products because the market seems ready. But we skip the most critical question: Is this what God actually wants me to build?

And that's when success without covenant becomes exhausting. You can build something impressive and still feel hollow. You can achieve the goal and still wonder, 'Was this mine to carry?'

What if we've been building backwards?

When You Build Without God's Agreement

Let me be honest. I've built businesses both ways—with covenant clarity and without it. And the signs are always there.

When you build without covenant agreement:

Success feels unstable. It works until it doesn't. You're constantly second-guessing, wondering if it's all going to collapse tomorrow.

You're exhausted but can't stop. You work harder than everyone around you. You feel guilty when you rest. You're tired, but you keep going because "this is what it takes."

Something feels off beneath the success. You've achieved what you set out to do, but you don't feel fulfilled. The goal was reached, but the joy is missing.

You're building someone else's vision. You're good at what you do, so people ask you to build their vision. You enable other people's dreams while your own calling sits untouched.

What I’ve experienced is that women builders don't struggle with laziness. We struggle with building TOO MUCH.

We say yes to everything because we can execute. We build other people's visions because we're good at it. We construct impressive things that God never asked us to carry.

In my early years, I built businesses because I was asked to. I built because I was capable. I built because the work was needed and I was gifted to do it. Some of it succeeded for a time.

But something was off beneath the success—the foundation wasn't covenant. As Children of God, without covenant agreement, it’s impossible to sustain what God hasn't ordained.

The real issue is not what you are building.

The question is whether you are building from covenant agreement with God.

What Agreement With God Looks Like

So here's the question that will expose everything:

Are you building this FROM covenant alignment or FOR covenant approval?

Building FROM covenant:

• You're building because God already said yes to you

• You're stewarding what He's entrusted

• You're working from rest, not from fear

• You have peace, even when the work is hard

Building FOR covenant:

• You're building to prove you're worthy

• You're hoping this will finally make God notice you

• You're working from striving, not from peace

• You're exhausted, but you can't stop

One leads to fruit. The other leads to burnout.

Pause here: Are you currently building something God never asked you to build?

If you're not sure, that's your answer. When the covenant agreement is clear, you KNOW. There's peace, clarity, and a settled confidence that says, "This is mine to steward."

In Scripture, agreement precedes fulfillment. Genesis 17 records God's covenant with Abraham:

I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.

God declared the promise clearly. He defined the relationship. He made His intention known; He required agreement. Then Abraham built.

Remember: agreement with God looks like doing your part and trusting God with the rest. That principle holds true here. The difference with alignment? You're actively adjusting as God shows you what needs to shift. Agreement said, "I believe what You promised." Alignment says, "I'm following where You're leading—even if it means pivoting from my original plan."

For women builders, this is critical

God doesn't need you to prove you can build. He already knows you can. What He's establishing is what to build, when to build it, and how to build it in alignment with His purposes.

Through Jesus Christ, we are included in this covenant. Galatians 3:29 confirms it:

If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

For women who build, covenant agreement looks like:

• Praying before you set your pricing, not because you lack confidence, but because you want GOD'S number, not the market's

• Asking God about a partnership before saying yes, even if it's a dream collaboration

• Pausing a launch when the timing doesn't feel right, even if you've already built the entire funnel

• Saying no to lucrative contracts that conflict with the covenant because you'd rather build ONE thing God blessed than TEN things He tolerated

• Building slower on purpose when God says "not yet", trusting that HIS timeline produces better fruit than your hustle

Agreement is not inactivity. Agreement is alignment with what God has spoken—and then building THAT with everything you've got.

What Changes When You Build From Covenant

When the covenant agreement is clear, something settles within you.

There is peace and assurance. There’s joy in the work itself—not because everything is perfect, but because you know you belong to God and He is with you.

You stop second-guessing your pricing. You stop comparing your launch to someone else's. You stop wondering if this business idea is "allowed" for a Christian woman.

Because the covenant agreement has already settled the question: God is with you in this.

And here's what changes for women who build specifically:

You stop taking on projects that aren't yours to carry.

You stop building other people's visions while yours sits untouched.

You stop apologizing for your ambition.

You stop second-guessing whether God can use a woman who builds empires.

Because covenant agreement gives you permission to build BIG—as long as you're building what HE ordained.

When the covenant agreement is in place:

You build faster because you're not second-guessing every decision.

You build better because you're aligned with God's design, not just market trends.

You build bolder because you know God backs what He ordained.

You build without guilt because the covenant agreement has already settled that this is yours to steward.

Covenant is not loud. It does not rush us. It does not demand perfection.

It settles us.

And when we are settled, we can finally hear what God is asking us to build…and what He is not.

Before You Build Anything Else

And here's what else changes when you build from covenant:

You stop undercharging because you think humility means poverty.

You stop apologizing for wanting wealth.

You stop letting people guilt you for building a profitable business.

Jesus came to give life abundantly (John 10:10). He multiplied resources. He funded His ministry. He elevated women when the culture dismissed them.

And He's inviting you to build businesses that reflect His abundance—not the scarcity mindset that has been imposed on women for centuries.

Covenant before construction means:

• You build what GOD called you to build (not what people expect)

• You charge what GOD says it's worth (not what fear tells you)

• You profit from what GOD ordained (not just "bless" people for free)

This is kingdom commerce. This is covenant-based wealth-building. This is how Christian women entrepreneurs stop surviving and start thriving.

If building feels heavy, it may be because you’re carrying what God intended to establish.

During some seasons building doesn’t feel exciting anymore. There’s nothing wrong with working hard. But when the work feels unnecessarily heavy, it’s worth paying attention. You may be carrying more than you were ever meant to carry alone.

Many of us were taught how to work. Few of us were taught how to build—or how to handle responsibility without letting it become a burden layered on top of a burden.

Psalm 127:1a reminds us that effort alone does not guarantee success. What we build in our own power may stand for a moment, but what God builds is designed to last.

The Difference Between Working Hard and Building Well

“Unless the Lord builds the house…”

This verse doesn’t say we shouldn’t build. It doesn’t discourage work, creativity, vision, or ambition. Instead, it establishes order.

God is not reacting to our plans. He is the Builder.

When the Lord builds, the foundation is set before the structure rises. The weight is considered before the walls go up. Scripture gives us example after example—Nehemiah among them—of what happens when God directs the build. The purpose is clear before the work begins.

This is divine construction in the presence of human limitation.

What “Laboring in Vain” Really Means in Real Life and Business

We are capable and skilled—but without God establishing the build, we eventually feel the strain. We were never meant to carry the full weight alone.

“…they labor in vain who build it.”

The word vain doesn’t mean worthless. It means empty, exhausting, unsustainable.

That’s why striving wears us down. That’s why hustling eventually costs more than it gives.

Psalm 127 is not telling us to stop building. It’s teaching us how to build.

What the Bible Means by “The House” You’re Building

Scripture leaves the word house intentionally open, and that matters.

The house can be:

• your home

• your life

• your business

• your finances

• your calling

• your family

• your legacy

For many of us, it’s not just one thing. It’s everything intertwined.

You can build something impressive and still feel unsure whether it will stand.

That’s why this verse invites us to pause and ask a simple, grounding question:

Is what I’m building aligned with the foundation God is laying?

Because when God is the Builder, the foundation holds and the structure lasts. The work can carry the weight required for what you’re building—in life and in business.

Build, Plant, Grow, Prosper: A God-Centered Rhythm for Sustainable Growth

Psalm 127 reminds us that before we move through any rhythm of growth, God must first establish the foundation beneath it.

The past season has required a lot from many of us. There has been change, transition, adjustment, and growth. Lessons learned. Things released. New ground stepped into.

But now comes a different kind of work.

This is the season of placement.

Instead of rushing forward or trying to make something happen, take the time to make sure things are where they belong.

When God builds, He doesn’t rush. When He establishes, forward momentum becomes steady—not frantic.

Why This Season Requires Alignment Before Expansion

Today isn’t about setting goals or making promises.

This is an invitation to:

• build with God instead of building for Him.

• steward what He places in your hands instead of forcing outcomes.

• trust that obedience and order create more progress than pressure ever could.

You don’t have to figure out the entire plan today. It’s natural that we want to—but you don’t have to know how everything will unfold.

You simply begin by letting God set the foundation.

How to Build with God Instead of Carrying the Weight Alone

“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.”

We are not building alone.
We are not building in our own strength.
And we are not building on our own timeline.

We’re letting God establish what will last.

Today, we don’t rush to build. We pause to make sure God is the One doing the construction.

Because when God establishes the foundation, the work can finally breathe—and so can we.

My Approach to Everyday Self-Care

I’ve learned that when life feels full—or heavy—I need routines that support me, not overwhelm me.

That’s why I keep my self-care simple:

• A gentle cleanse at the end of the day

• Moisture that actually nourishes winter skin

There’s something grounding about returning to the same small rituals each day. They become anchors, especially when everything else feels uncertain.

I don’t approach self-care as a transformation project.
This body carries my calling, my responsibilities, my prayers, and my service. Taking care of it is not vanity, it’s wisdom.

In every season of life, we are shaped by what we believe to be true about God. Scripture gives us many names for Jesus, each one revealing His character, His authority, and His care for us. These names speak to the deepest places of our lives—the way we live, the way we steward what we’ve been given, and the way we build with purpose and faith.

As you read through the names of Jesus below, let them minister to you personally. Let them anchor your heart, steady your mind, and remind you that everything we build—our lives, our work, our legacy—rests on the truth of who Christ is.

Today, we pause to honor Him not only as the baby born in Bethlehem, but as Savior, Provider, Shepherd, and King—faithful in every area of our lives.

It's December, and if you're anything like me, you're feeling the pressure. The lists of things to do are getting longer, and your calendar is filling up…making Christmas feel a little crazy.

Between shopping and business activities to close out the year, keeping Christ at the center can be difficult. When you’re trying to make everything "perfect," you may lose sight of the reason for celebrating in the first place.

It’s Jesus…His birth and arrival, and the fact that He is Emmanuel, God with us.

I'm writing this as much for me as I am for you. Because I need this reminder too.

The Pull of the Season

During the Christmas season, we get pulled in a million directions. The business needs to close strong. The family needs gifts. The house needs decorating. There are parties and celebrations to attend. If you're a woman building a business while trying to honor God, the pressure can feel intense.

Jesus didn't come so we could stress ourselves into exhaustion celebrating His birth. He came to bring peace, joy, hope, and even rest for our souls.

So how do we actually keep Him central when everything around us is screaming for attention?

Ways to Keep Christ Central This Season

Maybe it’s unrealistic to plan on waking up at 4 a.m. or to add 10 more things to your already full plate. Honestly, that's not how I live.

My suggestions based on what I do:

1. Start my mornings with Him

I'm not suggesting two hours of quiet time, although that’s sometimes needed. I'm talking about starting the day by acknowledging Him. Sometimes it's worship music while getting ready for the day. Sometimes it's a quick prayer before getting out of bed, "Good morning, Jesus. Thank you for this beautiful new day."

Bishop T.D. Jakes, like many preachers, talks about "first fruits." It’s giving God the first of your day, not the leftovers. Even five minutes of acknowledging Him before diving into to-do lists changes everything.

2. Worship Throughout the Day

I often keep worship music playing in the background. As a writer, most days it’s instrumental with a few breaks for my favorites. Tribbett's "If He Did It Before" and Bishop Norman Hutchin’s “Emmanuel” have been on repeat in my house. There's something special about keeping that atmosphere of worship. It reminds me whose really in control when things feel chaotic.

Worship music helps me stay in tune with God.

3. Saying No Without Guilt

This is the hard one for me. With every invitation or opportunity presented to me, I'm learning to pause to see if it aligns with the boundaries I set for this season.

Some things are necessary. Some things are meaningful and beneficial. But some things are just noise.

It's okay to say no. It's okay to protect your peace. It's okay to create space for what matters most.

The Realities of the Season

Here's the truth about my life. My business doesn’t shut down during the Christmas season. I'm still working with my daughters on their projects. I'm still writing, creating, and building.

But I'm doing it differently.

The same God who called me to build Inspired Eagle Enterprise and to partner with my daughters in their businesses is the same God who came as a baby in Bethlehem. He’s Lord and Savior, and He understands purpose, rest, work, and worship.

My business exists to help women keep faith at the center of their lives and businesses. I can help you do it, because I do it for myself.

Practical Ways I'm Keeping Christ Central

Let me get really practical:

In My Work:

• Starting business planning sessions with prayer

• Ending client calls with next steps that I pray about

• Remembering that every email, every product, and every service is ultimately about advancing His kingdom

In My Home:

• Gospel music, not just Christmas R&B

• Conversations about Jesus's birth

• Gratitude in all things

In My Schedule:

• Church and worship are non-negotiable (even virtually)

• Time with my family to celebrate Christmas

• Time to simply sit and reflect on the miracle of Jesus’ Birth

In My Giving:

• Remembering that Christmas is about giving because He gave

• Supporting ministries and causes that matter

• Generosity that reflects His heart

When It All Feels Like Too Much

Let’s be honest. There are moments of overwhelm. When the business needs attention, the family needs extra attention, and content needs to be created. And I'm...tired.

That's when I remember: He came for this exact reason.

Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

Jesus didn't come to add more pressure. He came to lift the weight.

So, when it feels like too much, I stop and pray. Sometimes I literally just say His name, "Jesus," and let Him remind me that I don't have to carry it all.

The Gift We're Really Celebrating

At the end of the day, Christmas, with its perfect decorations and gift-giving, is about a baby born in a manger who became the Savior of the world.

God loves us so much that He didn't stay distant; He came close.

It's the miracle that Emmanuel means "God with us," not God disappointed in us, not God waiting for us to get it right, but God WITH us.

What a powerful gift that is!

My Prayer for You

If you're reading this and you're feeling the weight of this season - whether it's business pressure, family stress, or just the general chaos of December - I'm praying for you.

I'm praying that you'll feel His presence in the midst of it all. That you'll know His peace when things get hectic. That you'll remember the real reason we celebrate.

And I'm praying that as you build your business, serve your family, and walk out your calling, you'll keep Christ at the center of it all.

Because that's where the real joy is.

That's where the real peace is.

That's where everything else falls into place.

What’s Holding You Back? Let’s Talk About That.

There are some common reasons you may delay writing your story as a Christian woman. Have you said any of these to yourself?

• “I’m not a writer.”

• “My story isn’t big enough.”

• “I don’t want to sound self-centered.”

• “What if people judge me?”

Those may feel like valid reasons not to share your story in print.

But let me flip those for you.

• If God gave you the story, He’ll give you the words.

1. Pull together the bits and pieces of your story

   • Get your journal entries, blog posts, or old prayers that speaks of your journey.

2. Outline the turning points

   • Where did God show up? What changed you? Who did you become?

3. Decide what kind of message you want to share

   • A Memoir? Devotional? Teaching tool?

4. Get publishing support early

   • A good partner helps you shape the message. Don’t wait until the end to start the polish.

She was a successful businesswoman dealing in luxury goods. A woman of means running her own enterprise in a man's world. Yet when she heard the Gospel, she believed, and she immediately opened her home.

Lydia's story is only six verses long (Acts 16:13-15, 40), but her impact echoes through history as the first documented European convert to Christianity.

It’s most striking to me that her faith and business are under one kingdom system. It’s a great example to us that they're meant to work together.

Who Was Lydia?

Let's look at what Scripture tells us:

One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message. When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. 'If you consider me a believer in the Lord,' she said, 'come and stay at my house.' And she persuaded us.

-Acts 16:14-15 NIV

From these few verses, we learn:

1. She was a businesswoman: a dealer in purple cloth

   • Purple dye was one of the most expensive commodities in the ancient world. This wasn't a side hustle. Lydia was running a thriving, high-value business.

2. She was spiritually aware: a worshiper of God

   • Before she met Paul, she was already open to the truth. Her heart was positioned to receive.

3. She was decisive: The Lord opened her heart to respond

   • When Paul and the others revealed the truth about Jesus Christ, she didn't hesitate. She believed immediately.

4. She led her household: she and the members of her household were baptized

   • Her influence extended beyond herself. When she moved, her whole household moved with her.

5. She was hospitable: come and stay at my house

   • She didn't compartmentalize her faith from her home or business. She integrated everything.

Your Business is Part of Your Ministry

Lydia teaches us what so many Christian women entrepreneurs need to hear.

You don't have to choose between being spiritual and being successful.

Lydia didn't quit her business when she became a Christian. She didn't view her wealth as worldly or her work as “less-than.”

Instead, she leveraged her resources for kingdom purposes.

Her business gave her:

• Financial stability to support the church

• Influence in her community

• A home large enough to host Paul and his companions

• Networks and connections that helped spread the Gospel

She didn't apologize for being prosperous. She stewarded it well.

Does that sound familiar?

The Proverbs 31 woman was also a businesswoman. She, too, was seen as a model of excellence.

She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. -Proverbs 31:16

What Lydia Teaches Us About Building With Faith at the Center

1. Your Work Matters to God

Lydia's business was an extension of her faith. She presented herself the same way in her business and her faith.

When you operate with integrity, serve with excellence, and steward well, your business honors God.

God cares about the whole person. That means church on Sunday and what you're building Monday through Saturday.

2. Prosperity Has Purpose

Lydia had wealth, and she used it to advance the Gospel.

Her home became the first church in Europe. Her resources supported Paul's missionary work. Lydia’s influence helped to establish Christianity in Philippi.

Biblical wealth looks like resources in use for kingdom purposes.

If you've been feeling guilty about wanting to make money, let Lydia's story free you. God gives you the ability to create wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18)...not so you can hoard it, but so you can use some of it strategically for His purposes.

3. Opening Your Home (or Business) Opens Doors

Lydia didn't just open her home once. Acts 16:40 tells us that after Paul and Silas were released from prison, they returned to Lydia's house to meet with the believers.

Her home became the gathering place.

She created space—physically and spiritually—for others to encounter God.

This is what I'm doing with Women Winners…creating a virtual women's center where Christian women can gather, build businesses with faith at the center, and support each other in integrating the spiritual with the practical.

Just like Lydia opened her home, I'm opening a space for women who refuse to compartmentalize faith and business.

Faith Anchor

The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message.

I love that Lydia didn't force it. She positioned herself where truth was being spoken, and God opened her heart.

The same is true for you.

Real-time reflections from my moving season

There’s a certain kind of obedience that doesn’t wait for all the answers.
It doesn’t come with spreadsheets or perfect timing.
It simply comes with a knowing…and a “yes.”

That’s where I am right now.

I’m preparing to move—to step fully into what God has placed on my heart, even without every detail in place.

I’m not just relocating. This is re-alignment. A reset. I’m doing a real-time faith walk.

You Can’t Always Wait for “Perfect”

I thought I had more time.
But sometimes, God says go now.
Not when it’s convenient. Not when everything’s sorted. Not when the plan is printed and color-coded.

Sometimes He says move—and trust Me on the way.

This is one of those times. I don’t have every step mapped out. But I do have peace. And that peace didn’t come from knowing the outcome—it came from saying “yes” before I knew the direction.

After a time of prayer, I said this out loud, “God, I’ll do what you say. I’m just not sure what that is right now.”

Almost immediately my family legacy flashed before me. It became crystal clear that this was about my children and the plan God has for them through me.

What Obedience Looks Like Right Now

It looks like boxes. It looks like prayers. It looks like writing blog posts while coordinating logistics and trusting God with open hands.

More than anything, it looks like believing:

• That I’m not leaving anything behind that God still needs to use.

• That the same God who led me here is leading me forward.

• That what I’m walking into will make everything I walked through worth it.

But This Isn’t My Journey Alone

I’m not the only one being asked to trust.

Maybe you’re facing your own transition—emotional, spiritual, or even physical. Maybe you're making moves people don’t understand. Maybe the timeline shifted and now you're moving faster than expected.

Let me remind you of something:

Faith isn’t about feeling brave. It’s choosing to believe—even when you're trembling. Faith is the substance of things we hope for and the evidence of things we cannot see.

It’s trusting God and his promises, believing in Him when we don’t have the full picture.
