Looking for Janto fanvid First Time

Hello, all! Those of you still here on LJ in the Torchwood community anyway.

I'm looking for a really old Janto fanvid, back from when Torchwood was first on, that used the song First Time by Lifehouse and clips from S1, possibly S2.

It had been on YouTube forever ago but taken down and moved to Vimeo, also forever ago. It's obviously been gone from there a long time also. I don't know the name of the vidder because I lost that info as well.

I've been thinking about the video a lot and would LOVE to see it again. It'd been removed from YouTube/Vimeo long before I figured out how to "save" fanvids offline.

Please, someone tell me they have it! Also, please let me know if this isn't allowed. I don't know where else to ask/look.

Every year in July, we're throwing a Doctor/Jack party at wintercompanion. On 1 July, we start posting new fic and art created to a prompt list kept secret until the month starts, and then all of the prompts are opened to everyone.

Just like every year, we're looking for writers and artists to join our party! Here's what we're looking for:

writers willing and excited to write at least 500 words of Doctor/Jack based on specific prompts, to be finished and submitted by 25 June

artists interested in producing a Doctor/Jack-centric work (wallpapers, icons, banners, drawings, vids, etc.) based on specific prompts, to be finished and submitted by 25 June

(Prompts can be interpreted as strictly or loosely as you like.)

TW_Fest's Member Driven Fest: 5 More Days To Go

There's only five days left until the Member Driven Fest at torchwood_fest officially ends. Now is the time to finish up your fanworks and submit them to the community.

Major Purge at FanFiction.Net

If you haven't already heard, there is a major purge of fanfic going on at FanFiction.Net. This is happening across all genres and fandoms large and small. They are apparently notifying writers, but only AFTER they yanked the story.

There appear to be two major issues. The first one would have been largely fixable if we were given notice. If your story title or summary isn't K (or G) rated, they are pulling the stories down. Yes, this is in their rules, but an alert to writers would have been nice. Some people have been able to get stories reinstated after fixing these, but some have not. If you post on FF.net, you may want to check your titles and summaries and eliminate any curse words, references to sex acts and the like.

The second issue is a bit murkier. While FF.net allows M rated stories, they do not allow what they call MA stories. Basically, they will allow material of a sexual nature, but not anything very explicit. Stories that are pretty tame have been pulled while others that are PWP have not. There is speculation that they may be scanning for particular words or phrases or checking all M or T stories.

alixe75 compiled statistics for the largest fandoms including Dr. Who. They along with Buffy have the highest take down rate of >11%. http://ffdotnetrants.livejournal.com/134901.html That's a lot of lost writing.

She was nice enough to provide statistics for smaller fandoms like Torchwood. http://etude.fanfiction.free.fr/fanfictionNet_2012_01_01.xls Using these numbers of stories posted as of January 1, 2012 and subtracting the number of stories posted prior to 1/1/12 that are up today, it looks like in excess of 350 TW stories have been removed or about 3.2% of the total stories.

I do not know if they are done or if there is more to come. If you post primarily to FF.net, you may want to back up your stories. The real shame is that if your story is pulled, you lose all your comments. Even if the story gets reinstated, you will not get your comments back.

The ffdotnetrants community on LJ has information about migrating stories from FF.net to AO3 and other helpful information in some of their recent postings.

And if anyone knows an easy way to copy comments from a story on FF.net - please let me know.

First I'd like to ask that, if you like BG's music, please do one of the following (or both!).

1) Join bg_in_the_usa , a lj comm for updates and efforts to get BG played in the USA.
2) Go to http://www.z100.com/new2/artists/i/321878?psid and play/rate/download the BG songs there.

It's important to try and get them more total plays, to really get noticed by IHeartRadio you need to be
somewhere in the 1000s. Also feel free to spread the word about this, maybe on your Twitter, Facebook,
personal lj, etc.
Both of the above have been approved by BG's manager, so there are no worries about participation.
I really appreciate any efforts you can make, especially with #2. And hey, if you happen to listen
once or twice each day to get the numbers up, I see no problems with that ;)
