Last week we learned that the one who is led by the Holy Spirit of God is a child of God, an heir of God, and a joint heir with Christ. So why doesn't it feel that way sometimes? We learn from Romans 8 that today's sufferings aren't worthy of comparing to the glory that is about to be revealed to those who are children of the Living God.

Note: Sermons similar to this one have resulted in the fining or imprisonment of Christians in Sweden and Canada.

While recent surveys show that only one in three US citizens favor same sex marriage, the topic dominates much of what we hear over the airwaves. Followers of Christ are often apathetic, only responding when they become sufficiently angry or afraid. In this two part message Pastor Wade teaches where we are as a culture, what God says in the Bible and how Christians should respond Biblically to same sex issues. (Part two will be preached on July 12)

June 14, 2009- Adoption (Romans 8:12-18)

Pastor Wade didn't plan this- really. But Romans 8:12ff fell on the day of Hannah Rose Mobley's baptism. Adoption is normal, after all- it's how we become children of the Living God. All those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

Evangelism- telling precious, eternal human souls about their need for redemption and the grace of God in Christ- is one core value at Living Word.
