He had so many things happening during the interview, including the telephone making a clicking noise, dropping the call several times, and an emergency down in Texas with a diabetic woman he had been treating having difficulty getting the supplies she needed in the nursing home she was put in.  The family was obviously upset and Dr. Bernstein kept taking calls about it throughout our interview trying to help them out.  It just shows how much this man truly cares personally for his patients. She is deathly terrified of the MRI machine with all the clanging it makes and plus she's claustrophobic, too!  She was instructed to take an oxycodone and a valium one hour before coming to the office and that must have helped somewhat because she did a wonderful job.  We'll find out more next Thursday at her appointment, but the MRI guy said everything seemed to look pretty good.  Crossing our fingers and praying for the best!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I got a call from one of my volleyball buddies just before 7:00PM today asking if I was coming to volleyball tonight.  I was told earlier in the week that the gym would not be available at the church since there was a Christmas party happening in there, but nobody was in the building except for some tables and chairs.  So I drove one mile to the church and we play for over two hours with a lot of people about half my age.  I enjoy the competition and exercise from volleyball, but I do feel it a bit the next day. At 4:00AM we had a huge thunderstorm rolling through our area that climaxed with the loudest clap of thunder I've heard in a very long time.  I could feel the adrenaline rushing through my body after that happened and I was officially wide awake at a time I'm usually sawing some serious Z's.  So I got up and started working.  Yippee!  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We had a doctor's appointment for Christine again today because she's been having some pain coming from her neck where she had C5 fusion surgery earlier this year shooting down into her right arm.  She was fearing that they may have to do another surgery. The neurosurgeon said the fusion looks good and he can't understand why she's in pain.  We'll have an MRI done tomorrow and an appointment next Thursday to see what to do next.  In the meantime, Christine's got a whole slew of pain medications to help her deal with the pain in her neck that's not named Jimmy Moore.  :)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;While we were at the doctor's office, I received an e-mail from a producer at the CNBC-TV show called &lt;a href=http://www.dlife.com/dlifeTv/dlifeTvHome.php&gt;dLife&lt;/a&gt;. This came completely out of the blue because I had not contacted them requesting an interview and I don't have diabetes.  This nationally-televised show focused on diabetes has been following my work for years and wanted to bring me to inspire their half million viewers with what I've learned about healthy living.  What an opportunity and I am excited about sharing in a pre-recorded interview next Wednesday afternoon. I don't know what happened this past week that I didn't consume meals at the appointed times that most people do and that's no necessarily a bad thing at all.  Why must we have breakfast, lunch, and supper if maybe we only need one or two meals a day to get all the sustenance that we need, right?
