I had a lovely weekend away from the internet and I feel like I should do it more often. I dont think I even turned my computer on for a whole 48 hours which is suprisingly liberating when you live/work online! I must do it more often. However today has been spent like everyday, working on blog content, finishing editing a video (which is now live!) and replying to emails. I have my gym session at half 7, which is loads later than I normally go and it feels good to not actually be stressing out about getting everything done before I have to go work out! Maybe I need to replan my days! I also watched the latest episode of Game of Thrones, I cant believe there is only two more episodes of the series left before we all have to wait ANOTHER year to watch it! As someone who's read the books, seriously the next episodes are going to be something else.

I bought these trousers at the weekend because I'd been meaning to get something from the Celia Birtwell for Uniqlo collection for ages now and although I'd originally had my eye on one of the beautiful printed shirts (which sold out so quickly!) I decided to opt for some of the trousers. In a suprise twist of fate I decided to get the blue ones rather than the more neutral options from the collection! I just loved the vibrant turquoise colour and I think they are a really eye-catching and statement piece. Perfect for summer and will be great to wear on evenings out paired with a vest when the weathers a bit warmer!

my ukulele experience

Excuse the old pink hair photos i've been wanting to post about my experiance learning to play the Ukulele for ages but I just havent got around to it quite yet! Now I know this isnt the usual thing I'd talk about on my blog so please bare with me if you have no interest at all about musical instruments but I get asked a lot about it so I thought I'd talk a bit about my experience learning! While I am still by no means an expert at it I have really enjoyed learning and picking up a new skill. I think its weird being an adult because things like learning to play a music instrument are seen to be a little bit odd!

I bought my Ukulele of ebay one night when I was really bored, stressed and emotional. I dont know why, I've never really had much intrest in playing a Ukulele specifically but I thought it would be something new to do. Ukulele's have a high sucess rate in learning to play as it is actually very easy to pick up. I love my white one as I was going through a white phase at the time and I love the way it looks. You can get them in loads of different shapes, colours and sizes but I opted for this one purely because it was the first that came up. I would recommend getting some new strings for it as well, I use the Aquila ones which were recommended to me by my teacher.

Lina mentioned that we should go to lessons so we decided to book a block of four with Learn to Uke. We decided to go to the absolute beginners class despite both knowing how to play a little before we went. Lorraine is a great teacher and the sessions lasted 2 hours and moved fairly quickly. We'd learn 3-4 songs per lessons as well as new chords each time. Now it sounds like it movers very quickly but I found it much better as it meant a lot at home practice but the more I felt like I had someone to show me then go home and practice the easier I found it. The price was really fair and I think me and Lina have decided to go to the next block of classes when we next have free time.

Other than my Uke lesson I've been watching a host of videos on Youtube teaching you how to strum and do various other things. It's easy to keep watching over and over as everything is repeatable. Their are tons of Ukulele tabs all over the internet as well to keep you occupied and to be honest most Uke songs are very simple to play.

In all I've loved learning to play my Ukelele and I cant wait to keep going with classes and play more. I couldn't believe how far I'd come in just four two hour lessons and practicing for about 30 mins a day. I really want to make background music for my Youtube videos next!

I bought this tee a few days ago from Primark after having my eyes on it for a few weeks. I'm not a huge fan of the whole slogan tee thing, but there was something about this one that I kept coming back too. I loved the little pearly detalling as it just looked so cute! Simple outfit, but I cant help but feel wearing fur in May is just so so wrong! When will the weather pick up!

My hair is crazy frizzy and huge today, I think its because I slept with it in a topknot but nothing seems to be taming it (I'm going heat free for a while!), so I'm rolling with it! i've just been running errands today so I opted for a really comfy outfit with my amazing jacket from Boohoo. Paisley is possibly my favourite print at the moment and this Boohoo Boutique jacket fits the bill perfectly. I think it was limited edition and I don't think they stock it anymore unfortunately! I know they still have the trousers in this print though!

I like the sports luxe feel this t-shirt has with the leather-ish (well it feels like smooth airtex, IDK what its actually called!) It was only about £11 which is super cheap. I wish Forever 21 was easier to shop in as when I do actually take the time to have a good look around I always find things I like. However the merchandising is terrible and everything feels so cluttered. Then again i think the same about H&M and i can just about manage shopping in Monki. I just like things all laid out nice and simply for me! Of course I'm still wearing my Mom jeans, I just cant get enough of them. I think they are the perfect jeans for more curvy girls like me despite being a little baggy they give a cool 90's slouchy vibe which is really popular at the moment.

Right, now Im off to the gym and then I'm going to see cinema to see The Place Beyond the Pines for some Gosling ogling! I cant wait! I've been putting off events all week so I'm heading out to a few tomorrow as well as some meetings! This week is flying by as per usual, honestly where does time go...

I picked up this bright camisole at the weekend when I was at home with my parents. I really love the colour although it looks more yellow in the photos than it does in real life. It's more of an acid yellow green shade. I didn't really think through the complexities of not wearing a bra with the top but it somehow worked. I am blessed/cursed (delete as appropriate) with a small chest so it wasn't too bad. Nipple problems were an issue but I didn't really leave the house for long! Note to self, buy nipple daisies. I wouldn't know what to suggest to wear under it if you were of a larger bust/need support. Maybe a strapless bra but I cant help but feel it looses the effect.

I've jumped on the "Mom" jean bandwagon too with the Topshop Mom jeans. I love the slouchy high waisted fit, they just have such a relaxed cool vibe (which I tend to be going for at the moment!) to them and are so comfortable to wear. I took the piss out of my housemate for liking them for ages but decided I needed them in my life as soon as I jokingly tried them on in Topshop.

I did suggest in the video that this is a kind of summer inspired outfit for a evening out. I couldn't wear my Zara kitten heels everyday and I did swap for some flats when I went out. I love how this look all comes together as it has such a nice casual day to night feel to it. Perfect for a city break, dinner out or cocktails with the girls.

I also made a video to go alongside the post as I've been slacking this week on the Youtube front! I had such a lovely weekend at home I just didn't fancy the hassle of editing and uploading. I got back to London yesterday and going straight back into my daily routine has been a big ol' pain in the bum. However it's nice to be home and back in my super comfy bed in my nice clean room!

I'm probably the last person on earth to attempt clashing patterns but I thought i'd give it a go in my usual monochromatic style. Personally i think it's worked out quite well actually! I like how the crosses work well with the circles and then the textured top gives it a little bit of something else. This was a throw on and go outfit with very little thought behind what I was pulling on, but I'm very happy with the outcome. I literally still can't get enough of that Topshop coat, I wear it every single day without fail! I'll stop featuring it on the blog soon, but its just so darn pretty!

I'm lamenting the fact these Monki Trousers are just way too big for me and forever regretting I didn't get a smaller size. Im probably a 10-12 (I wear 28W jeans) and the medium are just hanging off me. I literally have to roll it up twice and then belt it for it to be able to fit. I definitely recommend sizing down. Monki's sizing is all over the place and I have things that range from a XS to a XL! It's pretty mental to be honest!

Today i've been running around like a headless chicken and literally nothing I've wanted to get done today has actually got done. It started off like it normally does, with my usual routine, sorting packages to send from ebay, doing blog admin, replying to emails, drafting posts for ETC LLYMLRS. And I had a meeting at 3 but ended up going to the wrong bakery so had to get a taxi to the right place, but it went well in the end! I then popped by Space NK to indulge in a few treats and de-stress (aka panic buy) where I met a fabulous man who showed me some lovely launches. I'll Instagram what I got later! I then ended up having a massive argument with a Woman in the Post Office as she was so rude to me about sending so many things. I swear some people who work at the Post Office don't realise that it's their job to send things, so why get huffy when I have loads to send. It wasn't even busy which is what I can't understand. Sigh. I then rushed home so I'd be able to take outfit photos before the light started to go. Then I went to the gym and had a super tough intense Cardio workout. Now Im home and my internet has stopped working so before I can even attempt to post this. So if you're reading this I've sorted it all out and resisted the urge to throw my laptop out the window and I am now going in the shower, eat some food and sulk for the rest of the evening!

Feel's weird doing the first outfit post of the week on a Tuesday! It also feels like I haven't done a outfit in ages either! Although I really hope you enjoyed yesterdays video on my favourite favourites of the month of April. I had loads of good feedback on it so its going to be a feature thats here to stay!

I've always wanted one of those Cambridge style satchels but I just cant help but wince at the price! So pricey! However this one from Brand Village is a similar look without the price tag. I quite like it and it's really roomy and fits all my blogging bits so it's going to be good for travelling back and forth between central and home for meetings. I bought this Lazy Oaf baseball top a few weeks ago from ASOS, but it's almost sold out now so it's better to get it off the Lazy Oaf website. I love the eye print, I think it makes the Baseball top look so cool. I think mine is a mens large for the oversized baggy fit so i'd keep that in mind when ordering it if it catches your fancy!

Must dash as I'm off to personal training again. I've injured my forearm so I'm going a little harder on the cardio this week compared to weights and strength training. Im absolutely ravenous so I cant wait to get home and eat my dinner. I've finally got my daily routines sorted out so they keep me in check getting my blog done on time as well as doing all the other things I need to do in a day! Boring but simple things make me happy!

sunday portrait week 153

001. I've had a lazy bank holiday weekend and I've done very little. I've also felt quite ill so I've been lying in bed reading for the past two days. It's nice to take some time out and just chill for a bit. I forget how hectic life can be sometimes and its healthy to relax and take some me time. I've been face masking it up and tonight I'm gonna have a nice relaxing bath and pop a hair mask on. Pamper time indeed!

002. Next weekend I'm going back home for a family christening in which I'm being a Godmother! I really need to find something to wear as I really don't have a clue right now what to wear! It needs to be appropriate while also being me... Im tempted to get some sort of patterned suit or something along those lines! I don't really want to wear a dress but it's kinda looking that way at the moment! I really cant wait to go home for a bit as its been way too long, I cant even remember the last time I went home and saw my parents!

003. I'm in the process of uploading a lot of my old clothes to ebay, I'll do some more tomorrow. I'm terrible at trying to decide what's worth keeping and what isnt. I've been pouring over clothes all evening but I do have about 50+ items that I'll be uploading over the next few days. I've decided that I'll be donating all the proceed's to my friends charity Joels Wish, but I'll speak more about that tomorrow when I've got more up and formulated a better post!

004. Notable posts over on my beauty blog this week include swatches of two Barry M collections-Barry M Sequin Nail Effect Paints and the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine ranges. One I adore one I cant stand. I also did a bronzey makeup look using some new products I've been testing out and a review of a bronzer launching soon. Tomorrow I'm uploading a non-beauty favourites video so it'll include my favourite clothing items, drinks and music!

005. Lastly I want to say thank you to all you guys who continue to support me and make me feel welcome within the blogging community. I think I have crisis's of confidence about myself as a blogger and I do genuinely struggle with feeling "part" of something. I don't say it enough but I love you all and if you've followed today or followed for months or even years (LLYMLRS is almost 4 years old now!) then thank you from the bottom of my heart. I've had a really weird few months and I've seen my self confidence go up and down and up and down, but now I feel like I'm settling back into doing what I love and enjoy the most. Now there is always a risk with Lucky Dip you arent going to get something you like, And I have to admit some of these items probably wouldnt be things I'd pick myself but I have friends who I could pass things on to. Bit on the whole I was very pleased with both my boxes, especially the smaller one as the ring and earrings are so goddamn cute! They'd make perfect gift fort quirky loving jewellery friends or family members. I think it would make a wonderful reasonably priced gift for anyone with a birthday coming up. It's a great way to get your hands on cheap Tatty Devine bits and bobs from the comfort of your own home! In all I think its a really great deal and I definitely think its so worth it because Tatty Devine can be quite pricey sometimes. Another day another round of events! Im off to a Boohoo event, Cheap Monday in-store and then possibly off to another little press day. I really hope you enjoyed my coverage of the River Island Autumn Winter preview I posted about a bit early today. It was really dreamy! Other than that today I've been swooning over the additions to the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine range and working out. I had another personal training session today and my buns are aching. All in the name of a beach body!

I'm a bit rushed today so I threw this on this morning but I actually really like it. Printed leggings and baggy vest top's are always a winner in my book. I think they are easy to get right and look really stylish at the same time! I bought the leggings on a whim from Primark as I thought they'd look nice, but I'm not a huge fan of them, they are a little thin for my liking but I do like the look they give! I might see if I can find a similar pair but a little better quality. They aren't unwearable by any means but they just feel they look a tad cheap. Well it is Primark after all! I really Of course I wore my Arabel's which have become my current favourite boots. I like how they are a summer-y kinda boot while also being tough and masculine. I feel so stompy roaming around the city in them!

river island autumn winter 2013 preview

Excuse the terribly photo heavy post but I just had so many photos I wanted to share! Yesterday I popped down to the River Island Press Office to check out their AW Collections. As we all know I love Autumn Winter, and I always think River Island comes out with the strongest winter collections of all the brands I go and see. They constantly up their game and their styling and merchandising on their press events always leaves me feeling inspired and ready for A/W! Every season it gets further and further away from it's tacky reputation from years ago, transforming into a fashion forward focused brand. More under the cut!

My favourite pieces included the ombre red and black furry bag, embellished chelsea boots, long line thick coats, highly stylised jewellery and all the grungy textures. I always feel drawn to the whole "luxe groupie" look that comes around in the Autumn Winter Season. I don't really have much to say as the images all really speak for themselves. The trends are Supernova (textures, decadence, luxe), Bauhaus (inspired by the art movement, think bold colours and shapes) Teen Spirit (grungy, 90's inspired looks) Modernist (40's inspired). I loved the huge thick long line woolen coats with texture and leather patches. Lots of tweed and boucle mixed up with textursed leather skirts, chunky boots and embellishment. In all, an amazing strong collection from River Island. There are a few misses and a few "why the hell did they make that" items but overall everything is lovely, wearable and perfect for the season. I was literally going around the showroom making mental notes of things I needed in my wardrobe asap!

I saw this top in River Island yesterday as I was strolling into the store to return a few bits and bobs and I couldnt resist. Now we all know I dont do colour, but something about it just was so... me. I dont like floral, and stripes really arent my bag, and I never really got on too well with the neon trend. I went to a River Island Press day today and the press officer even said to me "Is that Lily? She doesnt wear colour!" Well thats right everyone, I wore some colour today and I... liked it? My Mother has decided to blame Zoe with my style direction at the moment but I think I just subconsciously channel queen babe of the moment Cara Delevinge without even realising it. Well a bit.. we have the same hair... and strong brows... basically I want to be her. Gosh I've used loads of ellipses in this post.

Excuse my chronic carb face, despite actually cutting carbs my face is still as round ever. FML. Today I spent some time chilling with my favourite little doggy Emma's little Beigel. He's literally the cutest little pooch around. I just want to speak in a baby voice and pet him constantly! What a cutie pie! I just got back from my exersise class and I feel like Im going to die. BRB.

So much love for this silky satiny Zara Blouse. I dont really like such sheer clothing but this shirt is just exquisite. It's a really floaty drapey shape which feels super casual and comfy. The silky material makes it feel like Im wearing nothing at all, so lovely! I pulled this outfit together for my Monochrome Lookbook that I posted over on my Youtube Channel yesterday but I thought I'd wear it today as I really liked how it came together. I wear my River Island disco pants a lot at the moment, and I do think out of all the Disco pant dupes I've talked about (here, here and here) they are my favourite. I might get another pair as regrettably they are starting to fall apart a little at the seams as I've worn and washed them so much! I wear this Topshop coat all the time too, it has to be my favourite clothing piece i've bought in a long time!

Tonight I'm off to an ORLY nail polish event and then it's my last ukulele lesson! I've decided that I will be going to more but I only booked a course of 4 to start me off. I've really enjoyed learning and I cant wait to show you guys it once I get a bit better! I think Im alright at it at the moment but I just feel a bit self conscious! It's so odd playing in front of people, well you know what I mean, in front of a camera in a video which hundreds of people will watch! It's like being at school and being in front of an assembly! Kinda awkz!

Westfield London recently approached me to make a video in association with them on spring trends, and naturally I gravitated towards monochrome. I knew I wanted to showcase monochrome because I'm sick of getting stick for wearing black and white. Black and white really doesnt have to be boring and there is an art to getting a monochrome outfit right. For me I love texture and pattern, I love prints and different feeling materials so thats what I tried to focus on. Hopefully I've shown black and white doesn.t have to be boring!

While my video isn't as exciting as the amazing fashion music video ones shot by Rankin (which you can see over on their site) I did give it a go and shot 5 totally black and white outfit ideas for spring. And by Spring, I mean to the UK version of spring where I still have my flannel sheets on my bed way into April! 001. As I type this I am on a walk home from my latest run. Boy am I unfit right now. I'm off on out annual family holiday in 8 weeks and I need to tone up my problem areas (tummy and arms!) and get back into shape. It's actually really nice to go running in the evenings as the weather is so lovely. Paired with the fact that it gets dark so late now it's nice to take advantage of the two huge commons that I live between! Ive also started personal training which is a bit different from how I've ever trained before but I'm enjoying it so far! Having someone motivate (and shout!) at you is surprisingly encouraging! I said last week I was going to start the 5:2 and I had a few people ask me about it but it just doesn't suit my lifestyle as I exercise too much to eat 500 calories some days. It just wouldnt work long term, although my flatmate and mother are doing it and have seen really good results so far!

002. On Saturday I went to a vintage kilo sale called Seek and Revive which was really good. It was basically a huge space filled with vintage clothing and you paid for it per kilo of clothing you bought. Each kilo was a mere £15 and I ended up getting 4 tops for £7.50 (me and Dal paid together so it was cheaper). Then we went to Brick Lane for beigels and then went to Wagamama for food. It was a really chilled out weekend actually and I've really enjoyed not going out and nursing hangovers!

003. It's been quiet on the beauty blog front the past few days as Im feeling a bit underwhelemed by beauty products at the moment. I havent had anything the last few weeks that's really wowed me or made me stop and think I need to share this. Apart from obviously me getting my paws on Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess after a very long wait! Maybe its that awkward part between Spring and Summer makeup where I need to wait a little bit longer to start getting excited by summer collections!

004. I literally can't stop humming Get Lucky by Daft Punk featuring Pharrell. Such a good summer tune! I've shamelessly been listening to it on repeat all week! I might start making Spotify playlists of my favourite songs and share them on here! Ive been meaning to do it for ages but I haven't got round to actually publishing them!

Apologies for the last two days lack of outfit posts! What I wore I'd worn on the blog before a few times so I didnt want to repeat too much! I went for something different today so it was a little bit more blog worthy! I've been counting down to the weekend this week, I literally cannot wait to rest up and relax in the sun. I had personal training today and I literally feel like Im about to collapse! My fittness levels have gone RIGHT down recently! Its not cool at all. Anyway, I dont have much to say today so I'll leave it at that. Have an awesome weekend whatever you do (:

I've had my eye on this dress for a very long time and on my latest ASOS binge I decided to purchase it. Im so annoyed I didn't get it sooner. It's the perfect loose, slouchy everyday fit and I find myself reaching for it all the time. It's comfy, easy to dress up or down and so flattering. I'm actually going to buy the red version because I think it would make perfect as a casual summer going out in the evening dress. I've worn this dress on a night out paired with chunky bright heels and a nice necklace, on days in the park with a pair of converse and a cardigan and like this which I'd describe as "I've got a few things to do in central London and I should really make a bit of effort but its too hot" kinda look. And at £25... its not a bad price! My gross legs are getting a outing as well as its just TOO DARN HOT. I'd photoshop them to look half decent, but Im just not that kind of person (too lazy) Yes Im one of those English people that complains its too cold and then once the sun comes out its too hot. I've been sitting at my desk with the window wide open and I still feel like I need to get 1000 fans to have around me to keep me cool.

Tonight I've got to run a few errands in central London and hopefully make a few events before heading off to my Ukelele lesson at 8pm. I'm getting much better at it these days, not good enough to show you all quite yet but I reckon a few more lessons and I'll be able to successfully show you all a tune! Oh and yes, for everyone commenting on my new wrist microdermal, that is what I decided to get done at the weekend. I'm really happy with it and it's sitting really nicely. I am a little worried about it catching but we'll see how it goes! Must dash! x

Heres the vintage shirt that I bought yesterday in Camden in all its glory! I really like it despite being floral. I just think floral is so overdone and can look really naff sometimes. But I think the fact this is monochrome (my usual!) it fits well with my usual wardrobe. It has a button up back but I decided to only do up the top two buttons because I quite like having my back on show when I have a high neck. Just shows a little bit of flesh as I think long sleeved shirts can often look a little prudish, especially when buttoned to the top. There is still a lot of love for my Zara heeled sandals which I bought last week. I love how spring-y they look in a outfit and add a different dimenson compared to my usual heeled boots!

sunday portrait week 151

001. My birthday went really well! Thank you all so much for all your birthday messages! I spent Saturday chilling in the sun up on Clapham Common in the sun with a Starbucks. I then planned a little BBQ with some of my friends before heading out into Brixton. Was really lovely and I didn't even wake up feeling terrible! You can see some snaps of my birthday outfit in my previous post! The highlight of my night was my housemate showing me her insane dance moves and Zoe's vine of her singing Blink 182 to me!

002. I spent the day in Camden with my friends Matt and Dal, we went for a walk down the canal, a beer or two and a browse around the stalls. I also got something done... more on that when it heals a bit though! I bought a vintage floral (yes, floral!) long sleeved silky top from Rockit. Two things I don't do, floral and vintage. However it's my standard monochrome style so it can be excused! I shall wear it tomorrow on the blog so everyone can see it! The weather is so lush at the moment. I was sitting at my desk this morning thinking, gosh I could get used to this!

003. Im starting the 5:2 diet tomorrow after hearing loads of good feedback on the diet. I think I need some focus to get healthy and sort my food intake out. Im a chocolate fiend at the moment (I don't even like it that much) and I feel like I eat way too much cereal and toasted muffins! I also need to decide in the next few days if I want to go on the annual family holiday or not! My fittness has declined in recent months too because literally every time I've attempted to run I get shin splints. I've bought new running shoes but its still not doing anything about it. I really need to rejoin the gym and do something low impact like going on the cross trainer!
