The festival, which will be party of New Albany’s Summer Concert Series, will feature a number of area bands. Festival hours will be 2p.m until 11 p.m., with music run from 3 p.m until 11 p.m. The complete lineup will be announced later, but the <strong><a href="http://www.myspace.com/jimmydavisband">Jimmy Davis Band</a></strong> and <strong>Marilyn Kington and 2-Loose</strong> have already been confirmed. Tickets will be $10 / $2 for 6 and under. Bluegrass, country, country, bluegrass, whatever. Bluegrass saved his career after his country music days were over, bypassed by the rockers, so that’s where he belongs.</p> </article> <article> <h1>RodGab and the Full Brown</h1> <p>2010-03-08T18:52:27Z</p> <p>Short review: <strong>Rodrigo y Gabriela</strong> came to the Brown Theatre on Sunday night and made the full house happy and awed. Comments ran the gamut of all the adjectives available to describe outstanding performances, followed mostly by head shaking, with particular emphasis on Gabriela’s right hand, which seriously impressed the musicians in the audience. The videos of their shows fail to do their performances justice. Phenomenal. Odd side note: the clapping that was encouraged by the pair was remarkably crisp and on beat, unlike the usual raggedness that crowd clap-alongs normally exhibit, which likely attests to the high percentage of musically trained people in the audience.
