We haven’t heard any substantial updates on the forthcoming reboot of Daredevil in over a year. Last March, director David Slade (30 Days of Night, Twilight: Eclipse and Hard Candy) was attached to the project, and a few months later “Fringe” writer and producer Brad Caleb Kane was hired to write the script. Since then development has been stagnant, but now we have a very small thread to hold onto for the future of the Marvel reboot. On Twitter, a fan expressed hope for Slade to get working on Daredevilsoon, but it’s his mention of a name for the title hero role and Slade’s positive reaction that is turning some heads now.

A fan (noticed by Empire) said, “I hope [David Slade] gets back to the Daredevil stuff soon, and I hope, maybe, Josh Hartnett could finally get a Marvel role.” Slade merely responded, “You and me both.” Now, that’s far from a confirmation that Slade wants Hartnett to star, as he could merely just be eager to get to work on Daredevil, but this opens up the discussion as to whether or not Josh Hartnett, who hasn’t really been at the top of his game lately, would be right for the role as blind superhero Matt Murdock and his acrobatic crime fighting skills.

Hartnett worked with Slade on 30 Days of Night, and for those keeping score, he also starred in Pearl Harbor with Ben Affleck, who starred in the awful adaptation years back. It’s certainly an interesting thought, but you would think Marvel would want a more bankable name for the role. Of course, Chris Hemsworth wasn’t well known before taking the lead role in Thor and he was surrounded by bigger names to help sell the film. That could easily happen this time as Hartnett is probably more well known than Hemsworth, but lately he hasn’t been in high profile projects and his glory days were nearly 10 years ago.

AMANDA Seyfried is back on the market. The actress has split from Josh Hartnett after the pair had dated for around 4 months, reports Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper.

Sources say Amanda still holds a flame for her Mamma Mia! costar and former boyfriend Dominic Cooper.

“Amanda’s been flying home to Los Angeles when she’s not in the studio,” dished one insider.

“She has been trying to see Josh but it hasn’t worked. She decided to end things.”

Amanda — who has also dated Ryan Phillippe in the past — was recently asked if she’s going through a 20s slut phase.

“No! I’m terrified of being promiscuous. I don’t like the feeling you get when it’s not something that you truly want to do, and I hate the emotional abuse you give yourself afterward,” she said.

“It’s just uncomfortable when you’re with somebody and you’re like, ‘I don’t really know if I’m even comfortable with this. Why did I? Eww!’ I think dating can come without sex. I think that’s a really fun way to do it. Right now I’m happy to not have someone’s naked body around me. Except for my dog’s.

“I think about kids all the time. I feel like the next person I commit to, that’s going to be the guy who I’m going to have kids with. That’s in my crazy female brain. So that’s why I’m like, ‘I can’t commit.’”

Josh Hartnett, who recently met with all the major agencies, has signed with IFA’s Ilene Feldman. It’s a surprise since he was expected to go with one of the major agencies after leaving CAA, but Feldman has managed to co-exist nicely alongside the behemoths, with a client list that includes Ryan Gosling, Chris Hemsworth and Angelina Jolie. Let’s hope she can steer him toward some projects that will put Hartnett back on the leading man map.

She is rarely spotted without her faithful dog Finn. But now Amanda Seyfried has a partner to help walk her pet pooch and that’s exactly what she and new beau Josh Hartnett did on Tuesday.
The Linda Lovelace star was seen enjoying a romantic stroll along the beach with Josh – who also brought along his own dog Iggy. The foursome appeared to have a great time and it appears that it isn’t just Amanda and Josh who have developed a close bond. Their furry friends also appeared to be having a great time too and were seen jumping in the surf and playing catch.

Amanda was dressed down in a pair of leggings, a jumper and trainers, while Josh wore a pair of shorts a dark jumper and a beanie. Not only did the couple appear extremely relaxed during their doggy date, but Josh was also seem beaming widely as Amanda walked past.

While reports of their romance surfaced earlier this month the couple were only first spied out together over the weekend. The twosome were spotted doing the grocery run together on Saturday at an upscale supermarket in Hollywood. It’s a sign that their relationship, so nearly kept under wraps for so long, is already at a communal chore stage.

Amanda was first linked to Josh by US Weekly magazine.

The 26-year-old actress – who has courted British actor Dominic Cooper and Reese Witherspoon’s ex Ryan Phillippe in the past – was said to have been ‘hanging out’ with the 33-year-old August star since they were introduced by mutual friends in January.

A source told US Weekly magazine: ‘Josh likes to keep things low-key, so they’ve just been hanging out.’

The new romance comes just weeks after the Red Riding Hood actress split from real estate broker Justin Huchel.She dated real estate executive Andrew Joblon late last year, but as apparently realised that Hollywood actors are more her type.

The beauty, who is devoted to her dog Finn, claimed recently that she doesn’t have the ‘energy’ to be in a relationship and was happy being single. Amanda, who met Cooper on the set of the  successful Mamma Mia: ‘Although I think it’s easier to be in a relationship than be single, I just don’t know if I have the energy at the moment. ‘In the past, whenever a relationship of mine ended, my friends would tell me to be single for a while – that it would be good for me.
