I am first to respond? Really?!
Well....as a reader, I classify the site as a favorite locally (though not quite as locally now) written food and kitchen arts blog. I love the photos and, most of all, your witty, smart writing voice. I would enjoy more of the same, but it can also be fun to see a writer grow and explore new directions. So I will take whatever is on offer! I am starting to get interested more in making more things from scratch (like cheese and yogurt), so I have really enjoyed your experiments in that arena quite a bit. I'm also looking forward, and maybe even dreading just a bit, what you discover about being able to eat locally produced food in your new home city. Dread because I think I am going to be jealous. Sigh....

As for names....I am terrible at that sort of thing. If you stay with a bit of a local food focus, maybe getting "Colorado" or "front range" in might be good? (I guess I am inspired a little here by the Iowa Girl Eats blog here.) Or how about Kate's Super Awesome Food Blog? Ok...maybe not...
Keep on writing (and enjoying it)!

Re: Mwha ha ha, it's alive! - Local Dish

So beautiful...LOVE it!

Re: Mwha ha ha, it's alive! - Local Dish

Carey: There will actually be some hanging storage and my favorite art above the sink. What you can't see is that it's an open breakfast bar to the dining room and its window to the right, so it's not enclosed. We chose a suite of Maytag appliances, because the fridge and range sold us and we wanted to keep the others standard.

Heather: As long as you don't mind a sleeping bag and Brooke getting up at 6 to make tea. Even on weekends. :) BTW, the cabinets are IKEA, if you can believe it.

Re: Mwha ha ha, it's alive! - Local Dish

Wow. Just wow. That kitchen is beeeyooootiful. May I live in it?

Re: Mwha ha ha, it's alive! - Local Dish

Congrats! When we don't have a yard for significant gardening, the compost we produce would just go to waste. Luckily, Boulder has a composting program where they pick up a bin of scraps, much like the separate bin for recycling. I'm hoping it's available at our new house.

Re: Kitchenette Cooking: Visitors - Local Dish

Kristen, I love that he was sticky with peanut butter. Poor guy. Probably got snapped up.

Trish, black eyed peas? How random.

And everyone: Caught another bugger this morning. The total now comes to three dead mice.

Re: Kitchenette Cooking: Visitors - Local Dish

We've been on this same mission lately. Discovered that they like black-eyed peas. Not the music - the raw beans in a bag in our pantry. Started finding individual beans in random places around the house. Who knew? You might want to add some beans to your peanut butter. Matt's using the old fashioned traps but we'll look into the spin trap. Critters outside are fine - that's where they belong. But once they come into our home they're fair game.

Re: Kitchenette Cooking: Visitors - Local Dish

We caught our little bugger with a humane trap and Kevin set him free in the open space. His fur was covered in peanut putter, so hopefully he wasn't lunch for some other animal who liked peanut butter.

Re: Kitchenette Cooking: No-cook cucumber salad - Local Dish

We inherited a double bin rotating composter (twin barrel by Mantis) when someone was moving and for some reason it was not included in the moving plans. Lucky us! So we compost (alot!) using that and a nifty little collector for the kitchen that uses compostable liners. The only challenge is not hosting fruit flies during the summer. But hey...we could use a few pets.
