Sometime over the summer if you are visiting the North East make sure you see The Glass Delusion at the National Glass Centre in Sunderland
It is one of many shows running through the summer holidays including John Cage, Cage Mix: Sculpture &
Sound at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art alongside Cornelia Parker's Doubtful Sound.
Also around the regions - The Crystal Palace (Destroyed) at Works/Projects in Bristol is on until the 7 August and the A Foundation in Liverpool has three exhibitions running until the 14 August.

Two exhibitions opening this week are The Crystal Palace (Destroyed) at WORKS/PROJECTS in Bristol. The preview is on Friday 6 - 8pm, Sydney Row, Bristol.
On Saturday 3 July Tatsumi Orimoto Live In Translation previews at the A Foundation opens in Liverpool, with a performance of 50 Grandmas at 5pm.

Chad McCail's show Systemic, which brings together a decade of work alongside brand new work, comes to a close on the 10th July at the Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art, Sunderland, and is well worth a visit.

It is degree show time again and this year Gallery North hosts part of the Northumbria University BA(hons) fine art degree show, 11 to 25 June, and it is the last week to catch Newcastle University degree show, The North, at the School of Arts and Culture, on until Saturday 12 June.

Previewing this week in Newcastle, on Thursday 10th at the University Gallery, is Face To Face: British Self-Portraits in the Twentieth Century.

Coming up next week, A Horse Walks into a Bar, on the 17th at the Castlefied Gallery, Manchester and at Edinburgh printmakers we see Prints of Darkness, also from the 17th.

Stephen Chambers's The Four Corners comes to a close on the 11th at the Kings Place Gallery, London and Chris Steele-Perkins: England My England opens there on the 18th.

And it is the first week of Contort Yourself, at the ACME project space & RCA.

Manchester this week sees two performances of The Action Of the Play Performance on the 19 and 20 May at the Castlefield Gallery.
Also in the North West, if you are in Liverpool, The Economy of the Gift curated by Ticiana Correa at the A Foundation draws to a close 22 May,
and Eleanor Moreton Im Wartezimmer (In the Waiting Room) at the Ceri Hand Gallery also closes on the 22nd

In London at studio1.1 Painting Over, A very brief survey of very contemporary painting, finishes on the 17th.

Coming soon is Factory Night, 30 May 3-5.30, inspiring sessions that provide an opportunity for creative people to come together in an interesting venue and supportive environment to make work or initiate ideas. And in June is VARCs 10th Birthday Weekend celebrating a Decade of Visual Arts in Northumberland.
