Like most people I know, magazines provide me with a huge source of fashion inspiration. Since I can only justify spending the cash for a couple of subscriptions a year, I do a lot of my browsing online. You can come across a wider variety than you would on the shelves of your local Barnes & Noble and you can find a lot of really inspiring stuff. I recently found a spread called Mix & Match from the July 2009 issue of Amica that I really loved.

I’m a sucker for plaid and gingham, so I suppose it’s no surprise that I loved the looks featured in this piece. My two favorites are above. What are your favorite looks from this piece?

What do you think of this collection? Is it something you would wear? Personally, I love the cheetah print items the most. I find that there’s something so great about slightly trashy animal prints that I just cannot resist. Plus, if you’re going to be moving (and looking for some moving companies San Francisco perhaps), or just want to throw on a lazy day outfit, these are easy look options.

I just got the new issue of Glamour in the mail and loved their piece with Taylor Swift. The styling was all very cute and completely spot on for summer. The cover shot of the Taylor Swift for Glamour August 2009 issue featured Dsquared2 jeans, a striped breadandbutter tank, and Lanvin necklace. Not shown in the picture were D&G booties. I love the wash of these jeans and one of my favorite recent purchases is a loose fitting striped tank.

Always a sucker for ruffles, I loved this Dolce & Gabbana blouse. It was put together with J Brand Boutique jeans, Jennifer Fisher necklaces, Cartier earrings, H. Stern cuff, Janis by Janis Savitt bracelets, and Chloe by Hannah Mac Gibbon shoes.

Cropped boyfriend jeans are all the rage this summer. I loved how these Acne jeans were styled with a glittery Lanvin top. Necklace by Vera Wang and shoes by Donna Karan New York. This just goes to show how incredibly feminine boyfriend jeans can be. For a similar look with a darker wash, try the 7 For All Mankind Josefina Boyfriend Jean from PoshStyle.

Another favorite trend of mine is blazers. Seriously, if you don’t have one yet, what are you waiting for? You will wear it with everything! I love the embellishment of this Viktor & Rolph blazer. Also pictured are Prada jeans, Lanvin earrings, and bracelets by Tom Binns Design and Made Her Think.

Boyfriend shorts, like these by AG Adriano Goldschmied, are another great trend this summer. They allow you to be casual without showing too much skin. Personally, I think that a longer length destroyed pair of denim shorts is sexier than super tiny cutoffs. Love the longer look but want something a bit more put together? Try the True Religion Jess Short from PoshStyle. I love that they paired such casual shorts with a great staple sweater by Yves San Laurent. Also featured is an H. As mentioned in My Spring Fashion Wishlist, Plaid Shirts are going to be a wardrobe essential through the summer. Recently, Twilight star Kristen Stewart was out in a plaid button up, black skinny jeans, and black Chuck’s. I love that she picked an oversized shirt and combined it with the summer trend of cropped tops.

Last week, actress Evan Rachel Wood showed up to the NYC Swarovski Crystallized Concept Store Opening in a great Gucci suit. Any long time reader of Logical Harmony knows that I’m a complete sucker for great menswear inspired pieces, so it’s no surprise that I love the style Evan Rachel Wood chose for this event. My favorite part is that she went with such an unconventional shade for the suit by picking purple.

What do you think of the style choice Evan Rachel Wood made?

It looks like Gwen Stefani isn’t the only one loving tie dye denim. Lost star Emilie De Ravin recently stepped out in her own pair of Tie Dye Jeans. While I personally like the color combination of Gwen’s pair more, I love how she paired them with a bright blue cardigan and basic black.

What’s your take on tie dye jeans? Are they something you want to add to your wardrobe?

One celebrity who’s style I love is Dita Von Teese. She always looks so chic and sophisticated. Recently she showed off her Street Styles by going out in a cute striped dress with red accents. I loved her pick in heels by choosing a pair with over-the-top bows on them and that she never leaves the house without her signature red lipstick. Even when going out to run personal errands, she always looks her best.

What do you think of the dress that Dita Von Teese picked? What are your picks for summer dresses?

It’s been said that nude is the new black this summer, and I couldn’t agree more. Personally, I can’t even remember the last time that I wore black. I’m Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but I’m completely accepting of all shades of nude into my wardrobe this summer. One of my favorites is the champagne colored Interlud Silk Knot Dress. I love the low neckline and the knot detail. What do you think of this dress, and the nude trend in general?

I grew up shopping in thrift stores and that thrill of digging through racks of clothing to find that one great item has never gotten old. While I still love thrifting, I also love hitting up stores like Marshall’s where you can get really cute brand new items at low prices. They have a relatively new section called The Cube which is stocked with lots of trendy and cute items.

I recently decided to go look for some Summer Fashions at Marshall’s The Cube and was quite surprised with what I found. The location near me had a lot of higher end brands in stock. Juicy Couture, J Brand Jeans, Paige Premium Denim, Paper Denim & Cloth, Roxy, House of Dereon, American Eagle, and Hollister Co. where all over the racks. In the footwear department, there were a lot of cute styles from Jessica Simpson, Chinese Laundry, Coach, and Steve Madden.

I ended up walking out with a pair of rinse wash jeans from Hollister Co. because, really, can you ever have enough dark wash denim? I have pairs in every cut and I think it’s always an important closet staple. The pair that I got retail in Hollister for $49.50, but I paid only $21.00 at Marshall’s. You really can’t beat that price. Even the higher end items were at affordable prices. The J Brand, Paper Denim & Cloth and Paige Premium Denim jeans were all under $100. The Juicy Couture velour zip ups were around $50. My biggest complaint about the location that I visited was their lack of size selection. There were less than 10 pairs of pants, no skirts, no shorts, and no dresses available in a size 0 or 2. I had my eye on these really cute Jessica Simpson sandals but, sadly, they didn’t have my size in stock. I’m just really glad that I found a great pair of jeans! I was very very tempted by a Lucky Brand Jeans handbag, but it was out of my price range. So, I also walked out with a bottle of BigSexyHair hairspray. Who can say no to any product from that line? Especially when it’s priced at $9.99.

It’s been said that all trends come back around. Well, it seems that the zipper skinny jean is on it’s second lap and being brought back to life by designer denim with The True Religion Gwen Zipper Skinny Jean. These jeans, however, are incredibly cute. I love the lightly destroyed medium wash. The True Religion Gwen Zipper Skinny Jean is available online and in stores.
