Hey All! I have some great news to share with you today. Recently I had an interview on one of my (Hungarian) friend’s blog about how’s life in London. It was so successful (if I could say that) that now I am continuously getting emails from people who are interested in my photography and would like to collaborate / work with me, or just have some questions to ask from me. It makes me really happy if I can help you, at the same time I’m still learning too. This is how I met Alex, the make-up artist. She’s also from Hungary, worked on a cruise ship for some time and now she lives in London, too. For my biggest surprise, she actually lives about 15 minutes drive from me. ‘That’s pretty cool!!’ was my first reaction. From that on we’ve been chatting for hours, sending tons of emails about our creative ideas… Oh yes, you all will be part of it if you follow my blog or Facebook page!

The English weather has been very tricky over the past one and a half months. Since Easter it was like a never-ending rainy period, showers every single day. Alex and I couldn’t wait to go outside and work with all the beautiful models that applied for my casting call from April. So now it’s time to meet Emily! I don’t remember if I’ve ever seen such a beautiful, exotic girl in my life. She’s from Uganda, and has been living in London for about 3 years. I knew from the first minute I talked to her that she has such a bubbly personality that I am always looking for in my models. Back to the weather again, it was so chilly outside (at least no rain) that I could capture only one set of clothes. She actually arrived with a suitcase to the photo session! Once the weather gets a bit warmer, we will definitely continue our project… I’m so amazed by her style and this wonderful red dress she was wearing!

Last September I did my first big casting and it turned out to be incredible! I got to work and meet so many new faces that I’ve decided to do it again this year in hopes of meeting even more fabulous fresh faces!  This year is going to be all about growth for me. I’d like to try new ideas, locations and techniques. I also need YOU ladies to help me out. I don’t require much modelling experience but don’t mind if you have some under your belt! It makes my job much easier. We are right in the middle of spring, the weather is beautiful outside, so why not heading out to some amazing locations?!

I will be taking inquiries until I feel I have found the 4 girls suitable for the position, which is actually an awesome position to have!

Just a few details:

+ Your photo shoot is completely free of charge. You will get 10 artistic, professionally retouched digital images that you can use on the social media sites. If you decide you would like to purchase the rest of the Digital Negatives from our shoot, you have the option to do so for an additional £95. Ask me for more details if you are interested in this!

+ You will be required to style yourself for the most part but I am happy to help you give some ideas of what to put together!

+ Hair & make up is also your responsibility but I can absolutely recommend you to some of my favorite local hair/make up artists!

REQUIREMENTS:

+ I am looking for ladies ages between 14-25. If you are under 18, parental consent is required.

+ You must be outgoing and want to try some really fun ideas, locations!

+ MUST be available in the afternoon/early evening hours during the months of April or May.

Last weekend I had the most amazing time ever. I mean concert-wise. The Hungarian community in the United Kingdom has been growing so fast for a few years now. And so is the need for Hungarian pop bands, musicians and other celebrities. This was the first time when Magna Cum Laude and Feró Nagy were invited to the UK to give a concert. It was mostly for Hungarians but I got to see some other people as well. The Clapham Grand as location proved to be breath-taking, not a common place for concerts.

I got to capture a few moments while enjoying their music…this was my first time photographing a concert and I pretty much enjoyed it.

The guys were discovered in 1999 in a talent show. They have several albums and have held many concerts over the past few years. The band has become one of Hungary’s most succesful pop-rock group.

 The members:

Mihály Mező – singer, guitar

Tibor Szabó – guitar, composer

Mihály Kara – bass guitar, lyricist

Imre Kilián – drum

József Milek – piano

A few words about Feró Nagy, the guest star of the evening… He’s a rock singer and musician, actor and lyricist. He began singing as a hobby in the 1960s in different rock bands, and became famous as the member of the band ‘Beatrice’, and later ‘Bikini’. He has released many albums and played in several movies, TV shows and theatrical plays as well. He was also one of the members of the jury in different talent shows.

So when he showed up on the stage…

…I got enchanted by his amazing voice! It’s was unbelievable, totally different than on TV or in the radio! I got a kind of shivering going through my spine when he started to sing. Being over 60, his voice has such a strength that is hard to describe!

I’m so happy that I could captured this moment of my friend, Meskó…

Is there anybody out there who hasn’t heard of the White Cliffs of Dover yet? I don’t think so. They are an iconic feature of the costline and of the country, and yesterday – after such a long time – I finally had a chance to visit this beautiful region with my friends. Actually I saw the cliffs several times when I travelled home by car through the Channel, but the weather was so cloudy and foggy that we could hardly see the coast from the ferry. After two weeks of beautiful sunny and bright weather the land got covered by clouds again. By today it all cleared out. Yeah lucky us!

This huge territoty belongs to the National Trust. It is a charity that looks after hundreds of extraordinary places. It is definitely a place of rare beauty and tranquillity where you can feel on top of the world and watch it go by, where the sun rises first, birds glide on the wind, sea crashes on rocks and the air is fresh and salty.

…I love horses!

…pretty steep, right? Walking along the beaten track with my cams in my hands was a bit scary sometimes.

This last image is about the port of Dover. It looks like a huge palyground for baby boys from up above.

I had a lovely family session the other day… Kristina, Svet and Eliza braved the cold weather for their portraits. This session has been a long time in the making, and finally we all got together. I captured a few images at their home too. Could they be any more gorgeous?

It’s so unbelievable! Finally we got snow here in London too. And pretty much actually. Snow was definitely one thing I missed in the UK. I headed to the local nature reserve to capture a few photos for you as a proof.

A little waterfall just crossed my way…I was wondering how amazing it must be when nature starts to awaken.

After getting to the next scene I was kinda amazed by the frozen canal. There are people living on these boats, and they simply can’t move as long as it’s frozen. And the boats can easily be broken by the ice. Anyway it looked really nice: white all over with some color spots.

This last photo was taken at the beach, in Portsmouth. There was no snow here at all. Only very chilly weather and heavy wind. I almost got frozen, but I couldn’t resist capturing this lovely lighthouse! It’s a place where I’ll go back in spring…

Have you ever imagined such beautiful weather in winter? Last weekend I had a short trip to Ivinghoe, Buckinghamshire which was my first time here at the Pitstone Windmill. This is one of the oldest surviving mills in Britain dating from 1627. A freak storm left it badly damaged in the early 1900s. It was later donated to the National Trust and restored by a team of local volunteers. I hope you like the view, the weather really was amazing! Let the pictures talk.

A lot more trips are coming this year. Sometimes a getaway from London makes me feel really good.

‘I Heart Faces‘ ROCKS! Not only because the website provides incredibly useful tips for photography, but because of its friendly community as well. I have been a fan of the team for some time now, but didn’t really follow these challenges week by week. Partly because I’m new to portrait photography. This week’s challenge made a question pop up in my mind, why not enter this fun again?! I was sitting at my desk going through the archives to decide which ONE to select. I’ve never thought how hard it is to pick only one! There are so many photos that are so close to my heart! And there is always a reason – or two – why I like this one or the other one more. Each and every one of them has their unique story to tell. Here you can see my submission for the ‘Best Face Photo from 2011′. A piece from an urban photo session at an abandoned railway station that was full of graffitti…
