Photos have always inspired me. If I’m trying to do something creative, my first stop is always flickr. As fatherhood falls firmly into the “Creative Work” category, I thought I would share some of the stunning pictures I’ve found. Bill Cosby On Parenting

Bill Cosby is probably responsible for more parenting Lolz than any other person on earth (both past and present). In recent years he has become a more serious figure in the world. His message focuses strongly on parents and parenting. As in his comedy he has a way of hitting the nail squarely on the head. Watch this video and be inspired to make parenting happen, not to let parenting happen to you. Don’t worry, he’s still cracking jokes :)

Back To School Madness

I don’t have school age children. The people I know that do have school age children are busy this time of year though. They talk about it a lot. Going back to school is a big undertaking after all. After a year of classrooms and recesses and after school activities all the stuff that was bought the year before is completely useless. So off to the store to buy more things which will then break down over the course of this year, and so on and so forth.

The Madness Is In The Mind

We shop all year long for various things: Christmas presents, valentine’s gifts and groceries. Why then is it when we get ready to send our children back to school we lose our minds? Is it because every year parents give more and more purchasing control to the kids? Or is it the aggressive marketing associated with the season? Either way its a head problem.

Parents Are Crazy

Whether its overzealous back to school marketing making parents crazy or the fact that they are losing control over their babies a little every year is irrelevant. What is relevant is that for years you’ve been puked and pooped on and taken it all in stride. But suddenly when you’re at the store in late summer trying to fill an endless list of school supplies and trying to get some reasonably priced jeans you lose it? Suck it up people!

No One Wants To Hear It

You only do this once a year just like the birthday that gets less and less fun the older you get. Just like birthdays, this back to school stuff will end eventually, just under happier circumstances. So for all our sakes, do as much of the shopping as possible online, accomplish the rest like a man, and have an extra beer when you get home.

Where Do Lolz Come From?

My joy and laughter come from my family and friends. My beautiful wife and my busy (yet absolutely lovely) children make even bad days go by in such a way that I wouldn’t mind reliving them. Tickling my kids mercilessly is a wonderful way to relieve stress at the end of a busy work day. For this reason alone I highly recommend having children!

But Why Is Fatherhood Funny?

Because Kids are funny. Farts, burps and poop are all fair game when you’re four. The good part is that you don’t even have to dirty the terms up to make them funny (like you would have to with desensitized adults.) Just about any parent can attest to the fact that once a kid discovers the word “Fart” that you’re in for probably a full week of hearing the word and hysterical laughter from your child.

Note: I am in NO WAY condoning teaching your kids swear words on purpose… I’m merely pointing out that when they learn them on their own its friggin’ hilarious!

Don’t worry though, there are plenty of other sources of Lolz once your family runs out of them. There Is No Reason Not To LOL. If you have to be sad, be sad. If you have to cry, then cry. Once you’re done, grab your kids and have some laughs!
