Acura TL-S

Acura TL-S (Posted by Lonnie)

Acura’s newest sport sedan does not disappoint. Think extremely fun to drive. Fast and tight are two words that come to mind. As is usually the case, the new Acura TL that was delivered last week was optioned to the hilt. All the extras were present and accounted for. Sunroof, leather, and a navigation system were all part of the package.

However, if you strip all those extras off of the car you still would have a fantastically athletic automobile. What makes this car great? Well, it’s an Acura for one thing. The word reliability tends to stick in my mind. Next it’s the build quality. The new Acura TL feels tight. By tight I mean the steering is extra responsive and the car lacks any type of rattles or ill fitted interior panels.

After owning two Acura’s in the past several years it’s easy to be critical. One was a Legend and the other was an Integra. Both cars were well engineered and very reliable. But the Integra was the most exhilarating car I’ve owned. Felt like you were riding on the ground. It just felt sporty. The new TL, which is actually based on the Honda Accord platform, gives you the same feeling. Elect to purchase the TL-S and the fun level just goes off the chart. With almost 300hp (286 hp to be exact) the TL-S will provide all of the acceleration you want. Well, enough for most of us anyway. Weighing in at 3,624 pounds, the TL feels more nimble than the Cadillac CTS. Yet, it seems to feel just as roomy inside.
