South of Innamincka, just at the side of the Strzelecki Track, is the site of the geothermal power project.  At this point, the project is attempting to recover from an explosion down the well - cause unknown.  Last heard of, they were awaiting the delivery of equipment form the USA.

<p>Not too far out from Innamincka we came across a dingo walking, with a slight limp, at the side of the track.  We stopped and it crossed the track in front of us.  It lay down and almost paid us no attention at all.

<p>We&#8217;re now heading out of New South Wales and into Queensland.  The state border is marked with a fence and gate, the Warri Gate.  It&#8217;s a do-it-yourself job, opening and shutting the gate as you pass through.  The gate doesn&#8217;t really have anything to do with border control, but rather to provide passage through the thousands-of-kilometres long <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dingo_Fence">dingo fence</a>.</p>

Some 40 km (25 miles) from Tibooburra sits the old gold-boom town of Milparinka (population about 10).

There&#8217;s not much left of the small town - only a handful of buildings survive.  Those that have survived, though, have been lovingly restored as evidenced by the old Court House here.

<p>The green line running from left to right at the top of the photograph is the line of trees along a creek.  The creek is dry but there may be a little water to be found underground.
</p>
<p>The vertical line run through the centre of the photograph is a fence.  Mt. Poole, being the only object to be seen for miles around, was used for sighting purposes.</p>
