Bob suspected that there was a good view to be got from atop a specific point on a ridge. We trekked up to that point and, lo, here’s the view from Bob’s Lookout.

We’ve seen signs of pigs in National Parks before, but this is the first one seen in a park. It ran off pretty smartly after it sensed that we were present.

The thing that first struck me when I reviewed this photograph was “What a lot of trees”. As far as the eye can see. I’ve no idea why that motif that should occur to me right now as I see tens (or hundreds) of thousands of trees on a regular basis.

It was interesting to see this plant floating on water, and then a stream of water apparently flowing above the plant (note the ripples).

There’s a large untreed area within Werrikimbe National Park named “The Racecourse”. As far as I know it’s never been used to race horses. It was, however, a swamp – drained over a century ago.

How large? The white spot in the centre of the photograph is Bob’s shirt.
