At the same time I don’t want to resort to something that turns this into just some weight loss pill reviews or some thing like that.

I’m wondering about converting the entire domain into a show case for the writing stuff which I want to try and make a stronger focus upon and make use of my time since I’m out of a job again. We’ll have to see what I can make layout wise to fit the domain name, and also my writer’s mentality. I’m sure the graphics wouldn’t be too much of a problem really, more exactly how I would set up the content so that it showcases things properly without leaving me wide open to plagiarists.

Today is the munchkin’s 3rd birthday. I joke about needing to get appetite suppressants because we’re going to be making enchiladas and quesadillas and having cake.

We’re not really doing a big thing today though because it’s just a few friends who will be here for the normal weekend gaming. Next weekend we’ll have more people around–not sure what we’ll do then. We can’t have a cook out in the fire pit because there’s a burn ban on right now, so unless it gets lifted before next week we’re stuck on that score. Perhaps we can still do cook out food, and maybe put a mini fire in the BBQ and cook marshmallows around that. I haven’t used the BBQ because it was left over from the previous owners and is rather rusty, but just putting fire in it for marshmallows should work better than trying to cook burgers or hot dogs on it.

We’ll have to see what everyone thinks. I miss the fire pit. We used to light it up to get rid of rotten brush from the various trees and from time to time we’d use it for ritual pyres, which have always been great fun, and such a wonderful smell too when you’re burning sage on camphor.

In the next few days I hope to do what I was hoping to do this week but my work schedule precluded it.
I’m going to officially close this site and get everything over on to The Silver Path, which means that this blog will be on thesilverpath.net/blog. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to keep up with things a bit better once I adjust to my “out of the house” work schedule.

I also know that over the next few days we’re going to be putting up a $5 reading special, though Kore will probably have more slots open than I will because she’ll be at the house more.

We’re hoping that just having a set “low price” for readings will be a little less intimidating for people than the “name your own price”. I think that tends to make people a bit nervous and unsure. They want to take advantage but they don’t want to be considered “shorting” their reader. So, hopefully this will enable people to get readings and us to open ourselves up to new clients.

As it is I’m afraid we’re going to have to cancel our vacation plans due to this new pump-related development. In August my husband’s brother is getting married. He’s having a Nordic Pagan ceremony which is at a place in Pennsylvania, which means a lot of travel related expenses, not to mention wedding outfits that have to be bought.

If we can’t sort out some kind of payment plan with regards the well I’m not sure how we’re going to afford the trip. As it is right now affording it will be tight, add in this latest thing and…even with my new job–I’m not sure how we’re going to manage.

Money is consistently “a bummer” lately. We think that we’re making our way out of the tunnel and another train comes barreling through.

…it’s another. I swear I need one of those cruises right about now. I woke up this morning to find that the domain was down because I thought I had until May 11th to cancel it but apparently I had until the 23rd. So, I got that sorted out. Paid the past due computer tech bill and then after I took a shower Kore was taking hers and the water stopped.

Our pump has stopped working again. It seemed to have overheated, but hopefully has not completely burned out.

My son’s birthday is tomorrow, and we may be celebrating sans water because none of the local outfits are open on the weekends and we’re barely going to be able to afford to get it fixed as it is without paying the weekend differential.

It’s interesting to me the different legislations that I’m uncovering with the work that I’m now doing. There are many different steps we have to go through in order to give certain things to certain people.
For example if someone wants ephedrine or another supplement like phenphedrine we have to have them sign a book and they can only get a certain amount within a week.

I had no idea there were such restrictions on pills of that nature, but apparently there are.

The things you learn.

I can’t believe the amount of responsibility that we have in this job. Most people would look at working in a convenience store as an easy ride, but it really isn’t. The work is taxing and there are tons of different things which have to be done and rules which have to be abided by. Procedure upon procedure.

On the upside I realize running a tarot shop will probably be pretty easy by comparison. While I would still have to worry about the possibility of being robbed and vandalized. I won’t have to worry about selling diet pills, or alcohol and cigarettes; or locking down gas pumps during a natural disaster or fire. There won’t be money orders or vendors constantly coming in and out with various different products…it’s looking more like a cake-walk every day.

Well, we have no partridges but our pear tree seems to be doing really well despite that.

Since Kore cleared the branches a lot of new growth has sprouted, which is the first time I’ve seen the tree active since we moved in; before that hubbie and I thought it was dead and it was another on our long list of “things to remove once we had money”; but now I think the tree will be fine. It’s not just leafy growth either, we have blossoms as well.

<img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v357/azishsa/2009share/pear-tree2-02.jpg">

Of course once the blossoms are done is when we’ll find out if we’re right about it being a pear tree or not–it could still be an apple tree. It seems like everything Kore touches springs into life, our herb garden is going crazy. I’ll post pictures of that in a little while. In the mean time it’s back to the grindstone for me. I’ve been trying to catch up on a lot of things on my three days off this week. It’s not as though I’ve been slacking off at the Riviera hotel but I wish I could have. There’s been shopping that needed to be done and various doctors appointments, all which had to be crammed into the last two days. I’m hoping I’ll be better able to plan things in future weeks as I get used to what’s going on.

I’ve been working a lot lately which is good, but it’s also bad because it takes a lot of my time. I haven’t learned how to budget my time yet and adjust to the schedule that I have. I’m hoping within the next few weeks I’ll have learned how to manage with eight hours a day spent outside the house working.

I’ve managed so far even with not being able to find the KVM switches I needed last night to turn our manager’s computer from one side to the other so that they could fix the pump system which had gone out. I’ve even dealt with small children throwing up in front of my counter.

I’m hoping I don’t have to deal with more of that but I have to work the weekend and that’s much more likely to attract people who are drunk to the store; but I’ll deal with it.

I keep forgetting that tomorrow is secular Easter. It’s snuck up on us. I haven’t had to do too much explaining, but I’ve become aware of the differences a bit more this year because the munchkin is more able to converse and ask questions and talk to people at stores.

A lady actually asked me if he was lying the other day because she was talking to him about the Easter Bunny and the munchkin not fully understanding told her he already had one, which is true, he does have a chocolate rabbit leftover from our Ostara celebration, and she thought he wasn’t telling the truth. When I told her that he was correct and that it was because we’d done celebrations at Solstice she did that “Oh” that you get when someone doesn’t really understand.

Given we’re bridging two religions we tend to celebrate between the two dates if they don’t match up. It tends to work out double because it means on the actual secular holidays we’re free to celebrate with family because we have separate plans that aren’t going to conflict.

There are some who think that we’re doing our son a disservice this way because it’s denying him his true Savior; but I and my husband both agree that we’re giving him a wider education and cultivating his open-mindedness. He learns about many different customs and as he gets older he can decide for himself which one resonates the most strongly for him.

We were talking yesterday about how it was the day that the Christians commemorate the death of Jesus and then how tomorrow they celebrate the day that he rose form the dead. He didn’t grasp things, of course, because he’s not yet three and those concepts are some times hard for adults to wrap their brain around.

Whatever you celebrate. I hope tomorrow is a good day for you.

I started my new out of the home job yesterday. So I may be harder to find than a certain kind of cell tower for a little bit until I get used to new schedule and the amount of extra energy that I’m having to put out.

I’m having fun, but the job is very tiring. A lot of on your feet work and a constant stream of customers; going from fairly sedentary with only toddler chasing activity and one 1.2 mile walk every day this is a big change; but I’m going to get used to it because we need this. I just hope they’re willing to work with my schedule or rather my husband’s work schedule with certain things because I’m not going to leave my son unattended for two hours early in the morning.
