Se queda a medio camino entre concierto y exhibición de La Fura dels Baus con Till Lindemann (voz) y “Flake” Lorenz (teclista loco) como maestros de ceremonia.

Y como era de esperar, la canción con la que más enloquecimos fue su archiconocida Du Hast (con ella todos hemos aprendido un poco de alemán), aparecida en la banda sonora de Matrix. La letra es un juego de ambigüedades léxicas con los votos de matrimonio alemanes que acaba con un rotundo Nein (no) .

Si con Biffy Clyro dije que me había sorprendido su directo por lo bien que empastaban voces y música, aquí debo decir lo contrario: música muy por encima de voces, algún que otro “riff no esperado” y la voz de Aleksandra que en ocasiones, si cerraba los ojos, podría haberla confundido con un gato. Sin embargo, esta canción me puso las pilas en el concierto y ahora cuando la escucho, así que os dejo la inyección de adrenalina. No os fiéis de cómo empieza…

Daremos el pistoletazo de salida con una gran descubrimiento: la banda escocesa Biffy Clyro. El directo fue impecable. Mucha fuerza de la mano de Simon Neil y lo que se valora en un concierto de rock: una compensación estupenda entre voz y música (es muy usual que los bafles cargados de riffs se coman las palabras, que se vuelven en algo indistinguible entre las notas).

Su último disco (el quinto ya) está cargado de potencia (Only Revolutions, 2009). Pero, como era de esperar por mi nivel de ñoñez, yo me decanto por un baladón (todo grupo de rock que se precie tiene que tener una ). Seguro que se pasan más canciones por aquí de esta banda, porque tiene auténticas joyas (Bubbles, The Captain, …).

Con su disco debut For Lovers, Dreamers & Me consiguió que muchas miradas se fijaran en ella en el 2007. Ya hablaban de la futura Norah Jones o Alicia Keys, sin embargo no ha sacado nada nuevo desde aquel álbum. Eso no quiere decir que se haya bajado de los escenarios, porque es una todo-terreno del directo. Yo la descubrí gracias a la serie Entourage (benditas bandas sonoras que te traen estas perlas).

Dream es una canción que crece con el paso de los segundos hasta llegar a un final apoteósico. Una carga de drama que va in-crecento. A partir del minuto 4 se te ponen los pelos de punta.

Así que hoy vengo con los neoyorquinos Scissor Sisters, que estrenan disco (Night Work) cambiando un poco de tercio con este single tan vintage. Nos olvidamos por un momento de los falsetes de Jake Shears, pero también vamos perdiendo la voz de Ana Matronic. Hay seis versiones de la canción (con remixes incluidos), pero yo me he quedado con este directo en la BBC Radio.

Por supuesto, no han dejado de tener este toque transgresor. De hecho, la primera la han tenido en la frente. O mejor dicho, en la carátula: Facebook censura la portada de su último disco en la publicidad. Y es que aparece el culete del bailarín clásico Peter Reed. Pero tapado, no os vayáis a pensar… Pero cuando los americanos se ponen remilgados, no hay quien les gane.

De la banda neozelandesa poco se puede escribir nuevo (os recomiendo esta biografía). La formaron en 1985 dos hermanos (Tim y Neil Finn). Y veinte años más tarde se grabó el disco homenaje “She will have her way – The songs of Tim & Neil Finn” (2005). Un tributo de cantantes australianas y neozelandesas a los temas que los hermanos habían escrito para su grupo u otros. Está gente de la talla de New Buffalo, Natalie Imbruglia, Lisa Miller, … y nuestra protagonista: Clare Bowditch, que también tiene otra versión de Hallelujah. La podemos escuchar sola o acompañada de su banda Feeding Set.
