Lost - Set Photos of Dharmaville - 21st Oct

Here are some pix I got of Dharmaville on October 21..the houses used for LOST were intentilonally dirtyted up from the other dorms as they are very clean, (the rec room was newly painted) and as you can see the swing set has been practically demolished, not something that would happen naturally since they used it last year in Season 5's Kate and Roger scene; so deliberate or what?

Marcela in Portugal: Is it true that Naveen Andrews is leaving Lost?
Not sure how this one got misconstrued, but no. Naveen has taken a role on NBC's Law & Order: SVU, but it is only for one episode as a guest star. He's not thatMaggie Grace hasn't yet signed on to return! My Lost moles assure me Naveen is very much a part of the final Lost season. And we might even see something good happen to Sayid for once.

New Filming Report and Photos

Earlier today we posted some photos from Ryan's report here. Thanks to DarkUFO reader Lostforeever we have a few more and this report.

I'm attaching some shots that I managed to snag from the same day as the fan from Ryan's blog (Monday Nov 2). They had been there all day, but the rain was affecting their shooting schedule. I actually went right into Sawyer's tent where Ben had previously been digging up something or burying something and it was covered with a fatigue looking tarp. If you look at the Ben-Ilana with gun pic, I'm in the background! How cool is that. Everything the fan said is correct, the only thing I would add is that there were 8 graves near Eko's church..don't know what that was, but they could be screwing with us! The crew were quite accommodating, but we stuck it out through the rain so they knew we were die-hard. I saw Miles, Frank, Ben, Ilana and Sun...but only Frank, Ben and Ilana actually shooting. As we were leaving, it looked like Sun had a scene coming up.

Two Cast Members Confirmed as Series Regulars for Season 6

Thanks to DarkUFO we can confirm that Zuleikha Robinson who plays Illana is now a Series Regular.

Also for those of you that did not know yet, Jeff Fahey aka Frank Lapidus is also a series regular.

Episode 6x07 - Title Confirmed

Thanks to our good friend DarkUFO who ran a poll about the title for Episode 6x07 and eventually revealed the title as "Dr. Linus".

Now that is a very interesting title and is the first title of the season that does not seem to mirror a title from Season 1.

Is this a potential Ben centric episode or is there another Linus running around LOST Universe!?

Despite reports that Lost's hottest bikini-wearer ever Maggie Grace is coming back to the ABC cult fave, I am now told exclusively that Maggie has not yet signed on to return for the final season.

A rep for the actress tells me: "It has not been confirmed that [Maggie] is returning [to Lost]. She has been asked, but nothing more than that."

So does this mean that she is the Lost "holdout" I've been teasing for a few weeks?

Confession time: Yes, Maggie was the Lostie I was referring to when I wrote the blind item about a "holdout" among the original cast who had been offered a return to the series but had not accepted. Reliable inside sources tell me she's the only original cast member so far who has been asked back to the series and unable to return. She has not shot any new scenes for the final Lost season.
However, according to her rep, Maggie had a very good reason for not making the trek to Hawaii: "She did three movies back to back to back and just got back from filming last Thursday."

Lost Season 6 - Filming Update and Photos - 3rd November

Thanks to Ryan for his latest filming report from the island.

This morning, “LOST” was spotted at Hawaii Medical Center East on Liliha St., otherwise known as St. Sebastian Hospital. The scene took place in the emergency room, and thus beyond prying eyes. But a group of nurses were a titter, having spotted Jack (Matthew Fox), Sayid (Naveen Andrews) and “his girlfriend” — presumably Nadia (Andrea Gabriel). As we’re beginning to see, even in a universe where Oceanic Flight 815 arrives safely in Los Angeles, our friends are inexplicably crossing paths.

And this afternoon, visiting fan “Daisy from Hazzard County” was among several visitors (including a group on a “LOST” tour) who happened upon a “LOST” shoot at Papailoa Beach (a.k.a. Police Beach), the main beach camp of several seasons past. Rain bursts made for a tricky shoot, but the crew persevered.

In the scene were Ben (Michael Emerson), Frank (Jeff Fahey), Ilana (Zuleikha Robinson), Miles (Ken Leung), and Sun (Yunjin Kim). In one scene, Frank was gathering wood and working in the sand, and in another, he was toting a gun. Then, it was Ben’s turns to dig around in the sand. Finally, Ilana had Ben at gunpoint, and marched him down the beach.

Rebecca Mader Returns for Season 6!!

Rebecca Mader, who was prematurely killed off Lost last season, has agreed to reprise her role of anthropologist Charlotte Lewis after completing a string of back-to-back films—including “The Men Who Stare at Goats,” with George Clooney, and 2010’s “Ceremony,” with Uma Thurman. “I am beyond thrilled to be returning to Lost!” Mader e-mailed me. “Being a part of this show has been one of the greatest moments in my career thus far. I’m excited to see everyone!” Everyone, I assume, includes that polar bear skeleton Charlotte discovered in the Tunisian desert. (Please, let her return finally explain how that creature got there!)

While Lost exec producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse confirm that death becomes her (“The decision to kill Juliet was absolutely brutal,” says Lindelof), they note that she’s scheduled to appear in multiple episodes this season (“There’s still something very significant that we have not yet learned about the character,” hints Cuse).

LINDELOF: “Juliet basically birthed season 6 by the actions that she takes in the final seconds of season 5. She is completely responsible for the end game of the show. So the character is going to be seen in a slightly different light this year. We gave her that action for a reason, and that’s because she’s so important to the fabric of the story.”

On later being asked to return in season 6:
MITCHELL: “The only thing I could think of was that she gets to beat the c-r-a-p out of Ben [laughs]…. I was like, ‘I think I’m going to be really busy. But I’m so in love with this character, it’s not like you have to twist my arm. So, thank you.’ It was just a complete rollercoaster of [emotions], though, because I had already said goodbye.”

On what we should expect when we see Juliet again:
MITCHELL: “It’s probably exactly what you expect, but because it’s Damon and Carlton, you know they’re just going to turn it on its ear.”

LOST Season 6 Filming Update - New and Familiar Faces Spotted on Set

Our good friend Ryan has posted a new blog with two new filming updates about the filming that took place this week.

I am assuming the crew is currently working on episode 6x06 so expect these moments to take place around that time.

Now usually it is what is happening in the scenes that is important but this time it is WHO was spotted!

Here are some details:

1) Early in the week a scene in a Church Kitchen Sayid (Naveen Andrews) was spotted. Perhaps an Alt-Time Sayid during this off-island scene? Also spotted was a new character Lennon, but more importantly the return of Omar and Keamy!!

2) Today's filming including a scene at a high school with Ben (Michael Emerson), Tania Raymonde returning as Alex and Dr. Leslie Arzt (perhaps as a teacher)!!

Additionally a new character played by the recently cast William Atherton was on set!

Damon Avoids Question About End of LOST But...

Hey All,
As some of you know by now I had an opportunity to meet with Damon Lindelof today during a Comic Book event for his Ultimate Hulk v Wolverine Comic Book.

There was a Q&A Session followed by an autograph session. None of the Q&A portions had anything too spoilery and I will post a report with videos of the event later today. However, I wanted to share my few minutes with him during the autograph session.

When Damon saw me I sensed he recognized me from previous meetings at Comic Con, but I told him who I was and he took a moment and let out big "oooohhh" and confirmed he knew the sites and who we (DarkUFO and TheODI) were.

Spoiler sites like ours (The ODI and DarkUFO) always get blamed for a show like LOST being "ruined" because of spoilers being posted. I am almost certain that most of you disagree with that statement. I believe that without the LOST spoiler sites there are many fans that would have lost interest in the show during the hiatus.

I have really always wanted to ask Damon and Carlton about their thoughts on this issue and whether they see a benefit of spoiler sites!?

So I did. Damon said it was definitely an interesting concept and said no one had really put it to him that way. However, he said asking him was also tough because he is the one writing it and that there is a huge amount of effort that goes into protecting the secrets of the show and then to see a secret ruined by a spoiler can be disheartening.

I did explain to him that it is not our intent to ruin the show and that we take an enormous amount of effort on our sites to only post spoilers for those that want them and never intentionally spoil fans especially after what happened with LOSTfan108 in Season 3. He appreciated it and said he understood the nature of the industry and why fans want to know more.

He used an analogy of a child wanting to open a birthday/X-mas gift that was hidden in a closet. That some want to and others don't, but if you tell them it is in the closet then why wouldn't they want to attempt to open it or be tempted to. After thinking for another second or so, he said that one way he could perhaps see some real benefit was from possibly a fan not liking Season 5 but seeing a spoiler and wanting to return for Season 6 or perhaps folks that missed previous episodes (seasons) reading spoilers and then thinking that there is something interesting and fun about it and wanting to see how it ends.

I felt he made a couple of valid points and knowing he took his time even with 20 or so other fans waiting I told him that I appreciated the effort they have put in the show and that I apologize if on any level we have ruined anything for him or the writers, but all we have ever wanted to do is spread the love for the show.

He said then said it is ok and said "hey I will not lie to you I visit spoiler sites myself".

It was a pretty cool moment and before saying my good bye I said I have one last small question. He said go for it. I knew he would not reveal anything at this point so I asked him that based on the fact they already know the end of the show that have we already SEEN the final scene!?

His eyes lit up a bit with a smile, he put up his hands, turned his head away and said:

"In NOOOooooo waaay will I even entertain the thought of answering that question..."

We both had a good laugh about it and then I asked him if it was a good question to ask and he said:

"It was an exxxxxcellent question!!"

With that I said thanks and then shook his hand. Since I knew others were waiting I hung out waited to get a picture with him and he then had a message for spoiler fans.

So what do you all think!? I really felt he had a an interesting reaction to something he could have easily answered with a simple "No".

I did video tape his message to the fans and my good friend DarkUFO posted it on the front page of the site. I have always had major respect for Damon and today confirmed how awesome he is.

NOTE: I will upload the videos of the Q&A and some pics I took and post soon. There are some great moments and some good information about LOST. Including Fate v Choice is definitely one of the major themes of the show and we will get more of that theme in Season 6.

Me: At what point are you in creating the final episodes?
Lindelof: We're actually writing the eighth episode right now and breaking the story for the ninth episode. We're filming the sixth episode. The blueprint for the entire season is done, but we only write the episodes one at a time, because the actual genesis of the scene-by-scene work is the fun part. So we're almost exactly halfway through.

There's been so much analysis of the this year's promotional poster. Do you have a big part in creating that?

Yeah. Everything in the design of that poster is intentional. We oversaw it -- now we know the audience looks at that stuff so closely, so we don't want there to be anything that we don't approve, especially at this point in the game.

Why is neither Walt nor Vincent in the Season 6 promo picture? -- Holly

Well, I'm not going to explain why anything is what it is, other than that everything is by design. You'll just have to watch the final season and decide for yourself. It's a little bit like, "Why is Paul McCartney holding a cigarette with his right hand when he's a lefty on the Abbey Road cover?"

Is the ending you envisioned when you first created the show still in place? -- adanzis

That's a great question. Yes, the actual ending ending is exactly the same as we'd always planned on it being, except we didn't know if we were going to get there after two seasons, four seasons or after six seasons, so the road to the ending has had to change significantly. But the ending itself? Whether people like it or not, that's the ending we've had.

Will Walt will have any major role in the upcoming season? He was important for a while because of his "gift," but that story has never been realized. -- mrhymes01

I think a lot of people are justifiably frustrated about the Walt of it all. We said he has this special ability, and the Others obviously grabbed him and studied him for awhile, then they got freaked out by him and decided to let him go.

I think that there are certain stories on the show that feel like dangling participles based on external factors. For us, we were incredibly limited by the fact that Malcolm David Kelley was growing at an exponentially faster rate than the show was progressing. So, you know, when we showed him in Season 5 and Locke is trying to recruit members of the Oceanic Six, the only way that it worked was to see him three years older. But hopefully, why Walt was special and the role he played on the show will have a new significance when all is said and done. And I'm not sure we really need the character of Walt to explain the significance.

Will we ever get more on the backstory on Libby ... or at least find out her last name? -- P-D Cougar

Libby is someone we get asked about a lot, and she's another one of those cases where it's more of an issue of our relationship with the actor than it is our desire to tell the story. It's our hope that Cynthia Watros will come back one more time and finish that story, but that's up to her. We asked her last year, she wasn't interested in doing it. Hopefully she'll change her mind.

One actor definitely won't be returning for the final season, right? Can you tell me more about that?

We did ask an actor who's played a significant role on the show to come back and do some work on Season 6, and they said no. But I'm not going to confirm who that is. All I'll say is that person was never a series regular.

Damon, I have a question about my second-favorite character on the show, Frank Lapidus. Ever since he appeared on the Season 6 promotional poster, there has been a lot of speculation on message boards. So, anyway, my question is: Will Frank be promoted to main character status next season, and if so, will he be getting a -centric episode? Because that would be basically the most awesome thing ever. -- Bish-Fiscuit

Yeah. Lapidus is definitely a series regular this season. Jeff Fahey was just a recurring character up through last year. Now, whether or not Lapidus makes it until the end of the season is anyone's guess, but he's definitely one of the A-team this year.

How many people do make it to the end of the season?

You really think I'm going to answer that question? Not all of them, that's for sure.
