As a company that operates a fleet of diesel vehicles we are naturally aware of the impact our daily operations has on the environment. We operate modern vans that are fuel efficient that produce relatively low levels of pollution but we know we can do more.

This is why we have developed the Go Green Service from our already popular Economy service.

The idea is that we work hard to make our vans operate in the most efficient way possible. This means that where we have jobs in similar areas that we have to complete them on the same day when we have a van in that area and not revisit within within a few days.

This is not only good for the environment but it is also good for our clients. Because we can save time and money on fuel we can offer low and highly realistic delivery fees.

All we ask is that clients are flexible and accept the delivery slots that we offer - help Lots2 cut CO2!

A further step we will be taking on the green front is to become paperless. We hand clients a receipt at collection and delivery of items but we plan to eliminate the need for this by emailing all receipts in advance. This will save paper will is largely unnecessary.

And finally, we aim to be carbon neutral by the end of 2009. We also looking in to making investments in green projects to offset our carbon footprint.

We have for a long time been receiving enquiries on whether we collect and deliver items that are on gumtree.com. People ask "do you only move items sold on eBay" and the truth is we welcome Gumtree users to the Lots2 service.

We seem to be getting more and more Gumtree related enquiries and we think this is down to the migration from eBay to Gumtree. We know a lot of experienced eBay sellers who will only sell items they can post on eBay and larger collection only items on Gumtree.

Gumtree has its advantages; no waiting for the auction to end, its free, no messing around with online payments, it feels more local (which some people like) and you can haggle with the buyer or arrange a quick sale - something that is frowned upon on eBay.

Gumtree at the moment feels more like eBay did a long time ago, easy to use, lots of advantages for both buyers and sellers and perhaps it has that 'new community spirit' that eBay had all that time ago.

All you savvy Lots2 users will know that you can spot a bargain on Gumtree Brighton or Gumtree Canterbury and get Lots2 to collect and deliver it for you!

We will be updating the site shortly but you can apply for a quote for delivery of a Gumtree item just as easily as you would for an eBay item - simply include the Gumtree Posting Ref so we can view the item and send us your postcode.

If the deal is done and the seller has removed the listing from Gumtree then please send us as much detailed info about the item as possible to ensure you receive the best value delivery quote.

Lots2 versus the eBay Man with a Van

Is it any wonder that the second most visited page on our site is our pricing page? Not to us, we understand that price is important when weighing up whether to bid on an item or which service provider to choose.

Quite often we receive a quote enquiry but the potential client has a quote from an eBay Man with a Van that we simply can not match. We always try to price match where possible and ask for proof of rival quotations with service specifics etc. The problem is the eBay Man with a Van does not give any specifics, rather they just hope for the best.

We are the only courier of collection only items to clearly provide a price guide on eBay and on our website. Whether you think our prices are a bit steep or totally reasonable we have broken down the cost of moving items depending on a clients' requirements. Be it a Porter here, 2nd floor delivery there, this is broken down so one client is not subsidising another.

While we constantly monitor the prices of our competitors we also constantly keep a check on the quality of service we provide. We are not only collecting a purchase but we are carrying our client's reputation and eBay feedback! We won't let a job go if a more convenient higher paid job comes in and we won't call you to tell you the van broke down!

At the end of the day it is like anything, you pay for what you get. Any man who owns a van can start collecting eBay items the next day but how can you trust such operators?

Meet the Lots2 eBay Delivery Specialists Team

Our clients often ask us about our setup and are curious to know more about our company. So, here is a brief overview of the company and the people who make it tick.

Lots2 was born in October 2006 and has steadily grown to become the leading eBay collection only item delivery service. I (Rob) set up the service as I noticed that there was not an obvious or easily accessible delivery service solution. The past year or so has flown by and our operation is proving to be a major success. The formula for such success is no secret, we believe in an honest, reliable service with honest prices to boot.

The Team:

Rob (Operations Director/part time Driver) - a graduate in Economics & Marketing, I have worked around eBay since 2002. Since leaving my job at a leading brand naming agency in 2006 I haven't looked back and continue to be dedicated to Lots2 and its clients and partners.

Toby (Driver/Porter) - since joining us in 2007, Toby has proved to be a highly reliable, careful and trustworthy employee. He has particularly good spacial awareness and manages to maneuver the biggest items around the tightest of corners with ease. In his spare time Toby enjoys windsurfing and reading about windsurfing.

David (Porter/Warehouse) - working with us from the start, David helps out around the warehouse and occasionally hits the road in one of the vans. When not working with us David is buying and selling furniture on eBay and when not doing that he pursues his love of mountain biking and marathon running.

Paul (WebMaster) - the web genius behind our website and admin/management system, Paul's work is always excellent and he is an extremely highly skilled designer and developer.
