I am trying to be a bit healthier lately - pretty much to make up for all those ice creams I couldn't say no to in the summer - but sometimes it's just too hard since healthy food is not always that tasty or easy to prepare. And considering how little time I've been having, it's not always my go-to option. However, these smoothies have been my life savers.

I will just make a bunch of them when I do have some time, and freeze them. And then I'm ready to have one when I get home late, and I'm too tired or in a rush because I'm about to go skating with a friend (which is something I do most nights, actually).

There is really no right or wrong way to make them, or right or wrong ingredients or quantities, so I'm just going to share with you how I usually prepare them, but you just go with whatever you like.

What I use

1 cup spinach leaves
1/2 banana
1 cup fruits
Milk/Yogurt/water
Optional: a teaspoon of oats. I add this when I want it to be more filling.

What I do is I put all the fruit and spinach leaves in a ziploc bag and freeze them. I do cut the fruit in pieces to make it easier for my blender to blend everything, since the chunks may be a bit hard when they're frozen.

In the summer, I used to make them using berries, but this time I just went with pinneaple (because it was the cheapest when we went to the supermarket) and pear (because we had some lying around at home).

I like to write down on the bag what's inside and when I prepared them, so I can make sure I don't eat anything that's been there for too long. The bags are usually good for up to 6 months.

Then, whenever you want one of these smothies, throw the content of the bag in the blender and add some liquid: water, milk, yogurt... Remember: there's no wrong way to do them. I will add water if I'm really in a hurry, or yogurt if I want it to be thicker. You just go with whatever you're feeling. Or if you have a favorite kind of milk (almond, coconut... , which by the way, I'm allergic to) you could use those too.

Travel Diaries: Venice

This summer I was lucky enough to make a few trips around Europe, and one of them was to Venice. I love Venice. It's a beautiful city, and it just has a special charm. And it has pizza! We were extra lucky and had the best weather possible, which made me enjoy my trip even more. When I travel, I love to share the photos on my blog, so here we go!

Life Update

Hello! I know I have been a bit absent from the whole blogging world lately, but there is a reason for that... As usual, Univeristy came in the way and I decided to focus on my last exams and my dissertation. And it was all worth it because I'm a graduate now!

I know pausing everything just to focus on studying may seem a bit extreme, but I did not want to take any chances. I wanted to graduate so badly so I had to graduate, and it had to be this year, and I didn't mind at what cost. I hadn't passed all of my courses in one year since... the year I started University so this was pretty tough for me.

Also, because I did not want to take any chances and studied so much, I got the best grades I had even got! I didn't even know I was capable of achieving so much! Who would have known studying would lead to passing and getting good grades, huh?

The only downside is that I was so focused on studying that I forgot to order my graduation picture... oops! How can I be so scatterbrained?

Even though I am definitely not ready to be an actual adult, I cannot wait to discover what life after University is like! I've got ~~my first job~~ my first real job now. I started working full-time and that has been taking, well… all of my time. And on the weekends - the only two days where I can stay at home and do nothing - I've been traveling. In fact, I just realized I have been out of the country every other weekend, which is actually pretty crazy! 😱

Now that I'm getting used to this new life, I decided it was about time I sat in front of my computer and went back to blogging. I have the feeling this is not going to be an easy task, but blogging is definitely not something I'm willing to give up.

Ban.do Agenda Review

I am an absolute planner hoarder. I love agendas. I buy at least one every year and sometimes even get a new one halfway through the year. Last year, I got three different agendas and attempted to create a bullet journal. I always got myself an agenda for next year and I love it so I wanted to show you!

I saw this agenda last September on Twitter and I immediately fell in love in love with it, but when I tried to buy it it was already sold out! In September! So I waited all year long for them to release their new agendas just so I could get one and I have to say this agenda is just perfect.

The first page has some space for you to write down your name. My handwriting is terrible so I knew I was going to screw this page so badly and opted for stickers instead.

It also comes with a bunch of stickers. Just so you know... I love stickers! I couldn't even resist myself and used some of them before taking the pictures for my blog. Oops!

Next, it comes with a calendar of both 2017 and 2018. I do wish 2016 would be here too though...

And some pages for you to write down some reasons to party, like *cough* my birthday (which is December 3rd in case you want to write it down in your agendas )

Some of the pages come with secret messages which are so much fun to decypher!

There's also a least of super important holidays...

There are som tabs in the border to help you open the agenda in the month you desire, which is really useful since it's a 17-month agenda so... you've got 1/17 chances to get it right otherwise...

Lastly, I ordered some stickers from Dorkface that I thought would go great with my agenda and OMG I was overwhelmed by the amount of stickers in each pack! I think these are the perfect compliment for the agenda. And I knew I would need them....

Building better sleep habits

My sleep routine has been a huge mess this year and I've been really struggling to fall asleep. Some days I would sleep like 4 hours, the next I would sleep 12. One day I would get up at 7am and the next one at 12pm. As a result, I was always tired and could never fall asleep or wake up when I had to, so I figured I had to make some changes in my routine in order to build better sleep habits.

If you, like me, struggle with sleep issues, here are some tips that worked for me, and will hopefully help you too.

1. Avoid your bed during the day

A doctor once told a friend of mine that your bed should only be used for sleeping and sex. Anything other than that you should do it elsewhere. And it makes a lot of sense if you think about it. If you make your body used to staying in bed and being awake, when you try to go to bed at night I will just… stay awake. Instead, let your body know that going to bed means sleeping. Yes, beds are really cozy places, but I'm sure you can find another cozy place to study, read, use your laptop...

2. Try not to take naps

If you sleep during the day, you will most likely not be able to sleep at night. And if you don't sleep enough at night, you will probably be tired the next day and will want to take a nap too and so enter a vicious cycle. So instead, try not to take naps and stay awake until night time. You will feel a lot more energized the following day, and also fall asleep more easily.

3. Don't eat too much before bed

Going to bed feeling full will make you feel a bit too uncomfortable to fall asleep, and will also make you sleep worse. Try to have dinner a few hours before you go to sleep, and also try not to have too much food for dinner.

4. Read before bed

Pau from Blossom Ikebana actually gave me this advice, and it totally worked me for me! Instead of staying on my laptop until bedtime and then trying to suddenly fall asleep, I would turn it off one hour before my bedtime, and instead sneak into bed with a book. Not only did I find the time for reading that I thought I didn't have, but I also found falling sleep a lot easier.

5. Always go to bed at the same time

Well, almost always, of course. You can stay up until later on special occasions. But try to go to bed at the same time on regular days. Even when you don't have to get up early the next day. If you don't have anything special planned - and Netflix is not special - stick to a bedtime.

6. Use a sleep mask

My eyes are a lot more rested when I use a sleep mask at night. Protect them from the night and keep them from opening and looking around your room for distracting objects.

7. Get up at the same time (approximately)

Just like tip number 5, time to always get up at the same time. Approximately, of course. If you have to get up at 6 or 7 am to go to class or work, it doesn't mean you should do that too on the weekends! But if you get up at noon on a Sunday, you will find it quite hard to fall asleep early that night, and will be tired on Monday. Instead, try to set up an alarm for the days you don't necessarily need to get up early in order to avoid getting up too late. For example, I have to get up at 7am to go to class, and have an alarm set up at 9am (sometimes I change it to 9:30 or even 10am though) for the days I don't have to go to class.

Central Perks

Before any of you tell me it's Central Perk, with no s, let me tell you I'm actually writing about Central Perks, a cafe in Toledo (Spain) that recreates Friends cafe Central Perk. I don't think anyone will be surprised if I say I love the show Friends. In fact, I think it's the best TV show ever made. So when I found out there was a cafe like this in Spain, I knew I had to go! And I finally did!

I could not hide my excitement to be here, even though everyone was looking at me as if I was some kind of weirdo for taking photos of everything.

The inside is the coziest cafe I have ever been to, with sofas and armchairs, music playing and... my favorite part... episodes of Friends!

Now I know the next photo is really dark but can you see the neon on the sides? I have actually seen those in the show!

The distribution is not the same than in the cafe in the show, but I'm guessing this is where they would sit. What do you think?

The ice-cream bowls were named after couples of the show... I'm not sure how Ross would feel about that

Joey and Phoebe though?

We ordered some oreo milkshakes and a rainbow cake and OMG look at those!

They also have a nice little terrace. And look at those tables!

And I obviously could not leave without taking a selfie there first!

But only with half of my face, because that's the only way I ever look good in photos...

Are you a fan of friends too?

Antes de que nadie me diga que es Central Perk (sin s al final), no, este post es sobre Central Perks, una cafetería en Toledo (España) que recrea la cafetería de Central Perk de la serie Friends. No creo que nadie se sorprenda si os digo que me encanta Friends. De hecho, me parece la mejor serie que se haya hecho jamás. Así que cuando me enteré de que había un sitio así en España, ¡tenía que ir! ¡Y por fin fui!

Estaba super emocionada de estar allí, aunque todo el mundo me mirase como una loca por hacerle fotos a todo.

Por dentro, es la cafetería más acogedora donde haya estado nunca, con los sofás y sillones, la música y, mi parte favorita... ¡capítulos de Friends!

Vale, sé que la siguiente foto está muy oscura, pero ¿veis las luces de las pareces de los lados? ¡Esas luces salen en la serie!

La distribución no era exactamente igual que en la serie, pero yo creo que este sofá sería donde se sientan ellos. ¿Qué creeis vosotros?

Y las copas de helado llevan nombres de parejas de la serie. Aunque no sé qué pensaría Ross al respecto

Make the most of your library days

Exam season is about to start... again and with it come the long days at the library. Last year I became an expert on this, so I thought I should share some of the things I learnt.

I don't know if it's just me, but when there's something making me feel uncomfortable, I can't focus on my studying. So you need to be prepared for anything that goes wrong!

Rest. Ok, there is no point on spending 10 hours in the library if you didn't sleep well the night before. Trust me, it's better to go back home, sleep for one or two hours, and come back. Maybe you feel like you're losing some time, but you will be able to make the most of the rest!
Eat well. Don't go to the library without having breakfast, or a proper lunch. Maybe it's just me, but when I'm hungry I can't concentrate on studying. I can only think of how much I want to eat, or what I would eat. Besides, your brain needs to get energy from food!
Water. Ok, these are very basic stuff so far: eat, drink, sleep. But they're very important! Take a bottle of water with you so that you can drink when you're feeling thirsty.
Hair out of the way. I hate when I'm trying to study and my hair is in my way. I recommend you keep a hair tie in your wrist so you can tie your hair back. And maybe it will also keep you from constantly playing with it if you share that bad habit with me!
Coffee and snacks. Sometimes, days at the library get veeeeeery long. Especially the afternoons. I used to always take a coffee in my bag with me and leave it in the locker. When I was starting to run out of energy, I would go drink it so I could go back to studying at my full potential!
Breaks. It is very important to take breaks. It is recommended to take a 10-minute break per every 50 minutes you spend studying. But I reckon I don't do that myself (who has that much free time?). But it's good to take one break in the middle of the morning (if it's a long morning) and the middle of the afternoon. I also made lunch and dinner time my main break times. I would go back home to eat, watch a TV comedy show and disconnect from that awful world of exams.
Put your phone away. This is the hardest one for me. I try and try and try to stop using my phone all the time, but it's so hard! But seriously, put it away. Maybe leave it in the locker or give it to a friend. If you're taking it with you, mute it and place it with the screen facing down. That way, notifications won't distract you. Out of sight, out of mind.

La temporada de exámenes está ya aquí... otra vez, y con ella llegan los largos días de biblioteca. El año pasado me volví una especie de experta en esto, así que voy a compartir con vosotros algunas de las cosas que aprendí.

No sé si seré solo yo, pero cuando hay algo con lo que no estoy cómoda, no puedo centrarme y estudiar. ¡Así que tengo que prepararme para todo lo que pueda torcerse!

Descansa. Pasarse 10 horas en la biblioteca no tiene ningún sentido si no has dormido la noche anterior. Creeme, es mejor volver a casa, dormir un par de horas, y volver. Puede que parezca que pierdes ese tiempo, ¡pero aprovecharás el resto de horas al máximo!
Come bien. No vayas a la biblioteca sin desayunar, o sin comer decentemente. No sé vosotros, pero yo cuando tengo hambre no consigo concentrarme en estudiar. Solo pienso en las ganas que tengo de comer, y todas las cositas que me gustaría comer cuando termine. ¡Además, tu cerebro necesita comida para tener energía!
Agua. Vale, estas son las cosas básicas: come, bebe, duerme. ¡Pero es que son importantes! Lleva una botella de agua contigo para poder beber cuando tengas sed.
Recógete el pelo. No me gusta nada cuando intento estudiar y el pelo me estorba por todas partes. Yo te recomiendo que siempre lleves un coletero en la muñeca, y te recojas el pelo para estudiar. Y a lo mejor así hasta consigues dejar de pasar el día entero jugando con él como hago yo...
Café y snacks. A veces los días de biblioteca son eteeeeeeernos. Sobre todo las tardes. Lo que yo hacía era siempre llevar un café en el bolso y dejarlo en la taquilla. Y cuando ya empezaba a estar cansada, bajaba y me lo tomaba para poder estudiar al máximo de energía.
Descansos. Es super importante tomar descansos. Se recomienda descansar al menos 10 minutos por cada 50 de estudio. Aunque reconozco que ni yo hago eso (¿quién tiene tanto tiempo libre?), pero sí que me gusta tomarme un descanso en mitad de la tarde/mañana. También descanso a la hora de la comida y la cena viendo alguna serie de TV de comedia para desconectar del horrible mundo de los exámenes.
Deja el móvil. Esta es la más difícil para mi. Intento e intento a intento dejar de usar el m´vil, ¡pero me cuesta un monón! Déjalo en una taquilla, o dáselo a un amigo. Si lo llevas contigo, siléncialo y colócalo con la pantalla boca abajo. Así no te distraerán las notificaciones. Ojos que no ven... ojos que no se distraen estudiando...

DIY Paper Butterflies

I'm obsessed with making my room look pretty. I'm always looking for new DIY decorations that I could add to it. Even though this is exclusively a decoration, I do think it looks great as one. These paper butterflies are so easy to make, and you need to little, and don't they look cute as Spring wall decor?

And the best part is that you only need one thing: paper! You will need square pieces of paper.

I am terrible at explaining origami instructions, but I hope the photos will help...

Fold your piece of paper in halves: horizontally ...

... vertically ...

... diagonally...

... and in the other diagonal too!

Fold horizontally again and place as shown in the picture.

Fold the outer triangles in

Trim the edges to make them round and cuter. You can fold the triangle in halves so can cut them all at once, and then unfold.

Grab the top layer of the outer corners and fold them down.

Grab the little part at the bottom, bring it to the back, and fold above the butterfly.

Without letting go of that part, fold the butterfly in half.

And now you can let go, cause we're done!

I placed them on my wall with a bit of double-sided tape.

Estoy un poco obsesionada con decorar mi habitación y que se vea bonita. Por eso siempre estoy buscando nuevas manualidades que pueda añadir a mi habitación. Aunque estas mariposas de papel no son exclusivamente una decoración, creo que quedan genial así. Son súper fáciles de hacer, y no necesitas casi nada , ¿y no quedan súper cuquis como decoración primaveral para la pared?

¡Y lo mejor es que lo único que necesitas es papel! Trocitos cuadrados de papel.

Se me da fatal explicar los pasos de papiroflexia, así que espero que las fotos lo compensen y podáis entender todo...

Dobla el papel por la mitad: horizontalmente...

... verticalmente ...

... diagonalmente...

... ¡y por la otra diagonal también!

Vuelve a doblar horizontalmente y colócalo como yo.

Ahora dobla los triángulos de fuera hacia dentro.

Corta las esquinas para que queden redondeadas. Puedes doblar el triángulo por la mitad y así cortas todas a la vez, y luego desdoblarlo.

Ahora coge las esquinitas de arriba, de la capa de arriba, y dóblalas hacia abajo.

Coge la partecita que sobresale por abajo, llévala por detrás, y dóblala por encima de la mariposa.

Sin soltar, dobla la mariposa por la mitad.

¡Y ya puedes soltar, porque ya hemos terminado!

Yo puse las mías en mi pared con un poco de cinta adhesiva de doble cara.

Boomf Review

My Dad turned 50 this year so when I saw Boomf in my twitter one day, I thought it would be a great idea to get some boxes for him. And you know I don't usually post reviews, but I honestly thought this was such an unique idea and I wanted to share it with you!

Boomf is a company that prints your photos in marshmallows! MARSHMALLOWS! So since he was turning 50, we decided to get 50 mallows (it was actually 54 since they come in boxes of 9) with photos of him.

The boxes came in a simple envelope that fitted in my mailbox, which was a nice surprise because I didn't feel like picking it up from the psot office. And even the envelope was cute!

And these are my six boxes:

Inside each package there was a paper note with the photos we had chosen to print on the marshmallows.

And on the other side of this paper there was this cute note from Boomf.

You could choose between strawberry and vanilla flavor and we chose strawberry because my sister doesn't like vanilla. So the marshmallows were a pale shade of pink, which was not the best for the photos, but they still looked pretty good!

And I must say that my photos don't do the mallows justice at all!

My dad loved them so much, he was not letting any of us eat them! Which is crazy because.. what else does he expect us to do with six boxes of marshmallows?

And what I think I loved the most - as if the amazing idea and taste were not enough - was that you can tell they worked on every single detail. I was constantly coming across new cute details I hadn't noticed before.

I think this was a great gift idea and I didn't know if you knew about it, but you may like to consider it for your next birthday since it's so different, and personal, and... you get to eat it! How many gifts do you make that you get to eat?

With dissertation and exam deadlines looming, all of us students tend to be very down in the dumps and overly stressed lately. Even if you are not a student, we all have horrible, bad days where we just want to curl into a ball and sleep. Instead of doing that I put together a small little list that will help you cheer yourself up so you can get back to being the happy bunny that you are.

1) Watch your Favourite Movie: movies cheer me up to no extent. My favourite movie to watch when I am down is 21 and 22 Jump Street as they are so hilarious. I also am a huge fan of the Bourne trilogy and mostly every Disney movie, especially Cinderella. Watching a movie will get your mind off of everything and cheer you up in no time.

2) Run/ Work your Heart Out: If you are an active bunny an endorphin release is guaranteed to cheer you up. Also, whilst working out you somehow seem to process your whole life and see everything in a different perspective that you didn't see before; it's like it's own therapy.

3) Pamper yourself, girl: you go have that Lush bath, paint your nails and eat all the chocolate your heart desires; you deserve it. You will also thank yourself for it because it will make you so much happier and relaxed.

4) Retail Therapy is the best Therapy: buy all the things your heart desires (well, as much as your bank balance allows you to.)

5) Be a Sleeping Beauty: read your favourite book, light some candles and lay in bed so you can be super relaxed. Have an early night (make sure to blow your candles out) and when you wake up you will be as fresh as a daisy and as happy as a clam (I think that's how the saying goes.)

I hope this post has given you some ideas on how to cheer yourself up when life is getting a bit too much to handle. If you do have any more suggestions to add, make sure to mention them below as I'd love to see some more ideas.

After applying and applying for internships this year, I finally got one (woop! woop!). I haven't even started working yet and I'm already thinking of all the things I want to buy when I get paid. I've been dreaming of owning these things for a while now and I just cannot wait any longer. I can almost feel them now.

1. PicSkates. These are some inline artistic skates that supposedly feel like ice-skates. You see why I want them now, don't you? One friend of mine has been trying to convince me to get one of these for like... a year? And I spent a whole year asking her questions about these skates, and not buying anything. So this is definitely the first thing I want to buy!

2. MakeUp Eraser. I think whoever invented this is seriously a genius. Come on, a towel that removes your makeup with water only, can be reused, and can be washed in the washing machine? Who wouldn't want one? Why don't I have one already? Also... it's available in pink

3. The Pink Mask. The Pink Mask is a nail mask designed to help you prevent painting your entire fingers with nail polish (and let me tell you, that's the only way of doing my nails that I know). I need this so bad because I paint my nails like a five-year-old... I also love that this product is made is Spain.

4. Personal Blender. I love smoothies. I think if I had a blender that was easy to clean like this one, I would be making and having smoothies all the time. A smoothie for breakfast, a smoothie for dinner, a smoothie just because... Sounds like heaven, huh!

5. Sports Skirt (for ice-skating, of course!). So I know this skirt was not specifically designed for ice-skating, but everything I see it, I can't help thinking how great it would be for the ice! And they always have it in the window of one store next to my rink, so I see it all the time and I would simpy love to own it.

Después de pedir y pedir becas y prácticas en empresas este año, por fin me han seleccionado para una (woop! woop!). Todavía no he ni empezado a trabajar pero ya estoy pensando en qué me voy a gastar el dinero que voy a ganar. Llevo un tiempito soñando con tener todas estas cosas y no puedo esperar más. Ya casi puedo sentirlas.

1. PicSkates. Son unos patines artísticos en línea con los que supuestamente la sensación es la misma que con los patines de hielo. Ahora veis por qué los quiero, ¿no? Una amiga lleva todo el año intentando convencerme de comprarme unos y yo llevo todo el año preguntándole cosas sobre ellos pero sin comprarme nada. Así que definitivamente, ¡es lo primero que me quiero comprar!

2. MakeUp Eraser. Creo que quien quiera que sea que inventase esto, es un genio. En serio, ¿una toalla que te quita el maquillaje solo añadiendo agua, reutilizable, y que se lava en la lavadora? ¿Quién no querría una? ¿Por qué no tengo ya una? Además... la venden en rosa

3. The Pink Mask. The Pink Mask es una máscara de uñas para prevenir que te llenes el dedo de pintauñas. Y la verdad es que a mí me hace muchísima falta, porque esa es la única forma de pintarme las uñas que conozco. De verdad que me pinto como un niño de cinco años... Y también me encanta que este producto se haga en España.

4. Batidora Personal. Me encantan los batidos y los sorbetes. Si tuviese una batidora personal de este estilo - y, sobre todo, tan fácil de limpiar -, me pasaría el día tomando batidos: batidos para desayunar, batidos para merendar, batidos porque sí... ¿No es de ensueño?

5. Falda deportiva (para patinar, ¡por supuesto!). Vale, sé que esta falda no esta hecha a posta para patinar, pero es que cada vez que la veo, no puedo evitar pensar en otra cosa. Además, la tienen en el escaparate de una tienda que hay en el centro comercial donde está la pista en la que patino, así que la veo todo el tiempo y ... ¡quiero tenerla!

Carrot Cake Recipe

You may remember me constantly tweeting asking everyone for a carrot cake recipe. Unfortunately, the only response I got was "vegetables shouldn't go in cakes" (I hope you don't see me as a monster now, Sarah. I promise it doesn't taste like vegetables at all) so I had to ask my grandmother for our family recipe. That's right: our family recipe is now on the internet. There goes my heritage!

To make this you will need:

1kg carrots
1 cup sugar
1 package of shredded coconut (100-125g aprox)
Muffins, or little sponge cakes...

The first step is to get the carrots ready. So wash them, obviously, and cut the ugly part at the top. And throw it away. We don't need ugly carrot parts in our cake.

Then chop the carrots.

And place all the carrots in a pressure cooker.

Cover the carrots with water, turn the heat on, cover the cooker and wait for the water to start boiling.

Once the water is boiling, you're going to remove the cooker from the heat and leave the cooker closed for 20 minutes so the carrots will cook.

Now, remove the carrots from the water, shred them, and mix them with the coconut and the sugar.

Cut the muffins in halves and place them in the pan where you will be doing your cake.

You're going to alternate one layer of muffin halves, and one layer of carrot mix, until you run out of carrot.

For me, it was 3 layers of each. But we originally intended to do three layers of muffins, and only two layers of carrot.

In order for all the layers to mix and become a single cake, cover with parchment paper and place something heavy on top.

We filled the cooker with water and used that.

Leave it for a few hours. (We left it like 2 or 3 and it turned out alright)

Lastly, you can sprinkle some more coconut on top to decorate it.

I'm a terrible, terrible blogger, but I served this cake to my family before I actually had a chance to photograph it. Not only that, I ate my piece and then realized I had not taken a single picture of what the cake looked like. I'm going to have my blogger card removed

So I served myself another piece and another cup of coffee - who can get enough cake or coffee anyway? - so I could at least show you one picture.

Carrot Cake

This is my family's carrot cake recipe. And let me tell you, it's one of the best cakes you will ever try.

Ingredients

1kg Carrot
1 cup Sugar
100-125g Coconut
Muffins/small cakes

Instructions

Wash the carrots, cut the ugly top part away, and chop them.Place all the carrots in a pressure cooker, cover with water, turn the heat on, cover the cooker and wait for the water to start boiling. Remove the cooker from the heat and leave the cooker closed for 20 minutes. Remove the carrots from the water, shred them, and mix them with the coconut and the sugar. Cut the muffins in halves and place them in the pan where you will be doing your cake forming an uniform layer of muffin halves. Alternate one layer of muffin halves, and one layer of carrot mix, until you run out of carrot. A lo mejor me visteis hace poquito preguntando desesperadamente por una recepta de tarta de zanahoria en twitter. Por desgracia, la única respuesta que obtuve fue que "las verduras no deberían ir en las tartas". Así que tuve que pedirle a mi abuela la receta de tarta de zanahoria de mi familia. Sí: la receta de mi familia ahora está en internet. ¡Ahí va toda mi herencia!

Para hacerla necesitaréis:

1kg zanahorias
1 vaso de azúcar
1 bolsita de coco rallado (de 100-125g aprox)
Magdalenas, o bizcochitos, o lo que encuentres por el estilo.

Lo primero que vamos a hacer es preparar las zanahorias. Así que lavadlas, por supuesto, y corta y tira la parte feucha de arriba. No queremos partes feas de zanahoria en nuestra tarta.

Luego corta las zanahorias en rodajas.

Pon toda la zanahoria en una olla express.

Cubre las zanahorias con agua, tapa la olla, enciende el fuego (o la vitrocerámica), y espera a que el agua empiece a hervir.

Cuando el agua empiece a hervir, aparta la olla del fuego y déjala cerrada 20 minutos.

Saca la zanahoria del fuego, rállalas y mézcalas con el azúcar y el coco.

Parte las magdalenas por la mitad y colócalas en el molde donde vayas a montar la tarta.

Ahora vamos a ir alternando una capa de mitades de magdalenas, y una capa de zanahoria. Y así hasta que te quedes sin masa de zanahoria.

Yo hice tres capas de cada. Pero en un principio, nuestra intención era hacer tres capas de magdalenas y solo dos de zanahoria.

Para que todo se mezcle bien y el bizcocho se empape de zanahoria, coloca un trozo de papel antiaherente y algo muy pesado encima.

Lo que yo hice fue llenar la olla de antes de agua y colocar eso encima.

Déjalo un par de horas. (Yo lo dejé 2 ó 3 nada más y quedo bien)

Por último, puedes echar un poco más de coco por encima como decoración.

Soy una blogger completamente horrible y le serví la tarta a mi familia antes de sacarle ninguna foto. No solo eso, me comí mi trozo de tarta también sin haberle echo fotos antes. Seguro que ahora me quitan el carnet de blogger

Así que tuve que servirme otro trozo de tarta, y otro café - ¿quién tiene suficiente tarta o café de todas formas? - para tener por lo menos alguna foto que enseñaros.

It's Spring now! And I must say, I'm more of a winter person so I'm not completely happy that it's not winter any more, but there is one thing I'm always excited about when one season ends and another one begins: using different clothes!

There's always that point in the season where you're just tired of all of your clothes and there's no point in buying new ones when the weather is about to change. So even though winter is my favorite season, I do like the look of spring - just not the warm feeling - and I love looking for style inspiration on Pinterest - where else? - because everything looks so pretty! So this is what I wish my Spring style was like this year...

¡Ya es primavera! Y debo confesar que en realidad yo soy más de invierno, así que no estoy super feliz de que se haya acabado el invierno, pero sí hay cosa por la que estoy emocionada: ¡poder usar ropa distinta!

Siempre llego a un punto en el que estoy ya cansada de toda mi ropa, y tampoco voy a comprar prendas nuevas cuando el tiempo va a cambiar pronto. A-Z : Get to know me

I sometimes think that the secret reason I started a blog was so I could talk talk talk about me. And this is what I'm going to do in this post. So if you would like to get to know me better, woop woop! this is the right time! I did have to skip some letters because I couldn't think of anything, but... close enough!

And I also want to thank Charlotte for tweeting about Chloe's - from Lady Writes - post, because that's what gave me the idea to write an A-Z post about me.

Apple. I love apple products: my iPhone, my MacBook... I'm sorry but it just has to be apple!

Blogging. Who didn't see this coming? I love my blog, and I love blogging, and I love the blogging community. I think my life would be kind of empty without blogging.

Cooking. And by cooking, I mean... baking. But b was already taken by blogging. I enjoy baking a lot. You can always find me pinning new recipes on Pinterest and making cakes for my family whenever I can. If you're coming to my house, I'm probably going to bake something for you... at least pizza!

Daydreaming. I am such a daydreamer. I live in my imagination, living a million perfect lives.

Engineering. I'm studying computer science engineering, so I will (hopefully) be an engineer soon.

Friends. Friends is just the best tv show ever, and if you don't agree with me, you seriously need to re-watch some episodes! I always laugh so much and I can't get enough. Oh! And I'm fluent in Friends quotes and Friends gifs...

Glitter. Glitter makes me so happy for some reason. It's just so pretty! I think I'm a bit like a fish: I'm attracted by anything shiny.

Hand sanitizer. I'm addicted to hand sanitizer. I think I use it more than I should. I always carry it around because dirty hands make me extremely uncomfortable.

Ice skating. I've been ice-skating for a few years now and I just love it. I may not be very good at it, and I know I was definitely way too old when I started, but I wouldn't be getting any better by wishing I'd started at a young age. And I just feel amazing on the ice!

Jane the Virgin. I'm obsessed with this TV show right now. I find it so funny and adorable. I always say it but it always puts me in a good mood. And I want to hug every character.

Leuven. I was studying abroad last year and it was one of the best experiences of my life. And the city where I was staying was Leuven, in Belgium.

Madrid. The city where I'm from and live.

New York. The city where I wish I lived.

Pizza. My favorite food in the entire world. Pizza >>>> everything.

Quotes. I love using quotes. I constantly quote my favorite tv shows and movies or use quotes I've just discovered on Pinterest.

Reeses. My favorite food is pizza, but my favorite candy are Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

Snow. I love the snow! I love when it snows! It makes everything look so pretty! And it's so much fun to play with it!

The Little Prince. The Little Prince is my favorite book. Every time I'm feeling low, I re-read it. And it always feels like it's talking to me, like the whole book is about what I'm going through at that moment. And I know a lot of people don't quite get the book, but I feel like it's a book that cannot be read whenever. It can only be read when you need it.

Valentina. Valentina by Valentino is my favorite perfume. Although I only use it on special occasions since it's a bit pricey. And if I ever have a daughter, I would love to name her Valentina (because I love the name, not after the perfume).

Winter. I hate warm weather, I love cold weather. So is anyone surprised that Winter is my favorite season? My birthday is in Winter, Christmas is in Winter... what's not to like?

Zero coke. I'm ADDICTED to zero coke. I've tried to drink less coke and more water and I've survived but... my life is not the same without coke.

A veces creo que el verdadero motivo por el que empecé un blog fue para poder hablar y hablar y hablar sobre mí. Y eso es lo que voy a hacer en este post. Así que si te gustaría conocerme un poquito mejor, ¡es tu día de suerte! Primero lo escribí en inglés y ha sido un poco díficil de traducir, así que algunas palabras las he dejado en inglés. Algunas letras me las he tenido que saltar porque es que no se me ocurría nada, pero ¡casi! ¿no?

También me gustaría agradecer a Charlotte por tweetear sobre el post de Chloe - de Lady Writes -, que fue el que me dio la idea de hacer un post de A-Z.

Apple. Me encantan los productos de apple: mi iPhone, mi MacBook... ¡Mis productos solo pueden ser de apple!

Blog. Este era un poco previsible. Me encanta mi blog, y me encanta llevar un blog y la comunidad de bloggers. Creo que mi vida estaría como vacía si no tuviese mi blog.

Cocinar. Y por cocinar me refiero a la repostería. Me encanta hornear pasteles, y galletitas, y dulces de todo tipo. Siempre estoy buscando recetas nuevas en Pinterest o haciendo tartas para mi familia. Si vienes a mi casa, seguro que hago algo para ti, aunque sea una pizza.

Daydreaming: Soñar despierta. Me paso la vida soñando despierta y viviendo un millón de vidas perfectas en mi imaginación.

Engineering: Ingeniería. Estudio ingeniería informática, así que pronto (ojalá) voy a ser una ingeniera.

Friends. Friends es la mejor serie de la historia. Y si no piensas así, necesitas volver a ver unos cuantos capítulos! Siempre me hace morirme de risa, y no me canso de volver a ver todos los capítulos. Además puedo hablar con total soltura en citas de Friends o gifs de Friends.

Glitter: purpurina. La purpurina me hace feliz por algún motivo. Me parece super bonita. Creo que soy como los peces: que se sienten atraídos por las cosas brillantes.

Hand sanitizer: desinfectante de manos. Soy adicta al desinfectante de manos. Creo que lo uso más de lo que debería. Siempre llevo un botecito conmigo porque odio tener las manos sucias.

Ice skating: patinar sobre hielo. Llevo patinando unos años y es que me encanta. Puede que no sea muy buena, y sé definitamete era demasiado mayor que cuando empecé, pero quedándome en casa deseando haber empezado de pequeña no iba a hacerme mejorar. Y la sensación sobre el hielo es simplemente increíble.

Jane the Virgin. Ahora mismo estoy completamente obsesionada con esta serie. Me parece super graciosa y adorable y sé que siempre lo digo, pero es que siempre me pone de buen humor. Me gustaría abrazar a todos los personajes.

Kindness: Amabilidad. Yo me considero una persona amable. Y si no lo soy, de verdad que lo intento. Lo prometo.

Leuven. El año pasado estuve estudiando fuera y fue una de las mejores experiencias de mi vida. Y la ciudad en la que estuve fue Leuven - o Lovaina - en Bélgica.

Madrid. La ciudad de donde soy y donde vivo.

Nueva York. La ciudad donde me gustaría vivir.

The Little Prince: El Principito. El Principito es mi libro favorito. Siempre que estoy un poco de bajón, lo vuelvo a leer. Y siempre siento como si el libro me hablase directamente a mí, como si tratase de lo que me pasa en ese momento. Sé que algunas personas no terminan de pillarlo, pero creo que es un libro que no se puede leer en cualquier momento. Tiene que ser cuando lo necesites.

Snow:Nieve. ¡Me encanta la nieve! ¡Me encanta cuando nieva! Hace que todo parezca más bonito. Y además es divertido jugar con ella...

Valentina. Valentina de Valentino es mi perfume favorito. Aunque solo lo uso en ocasiones especiales porque es un poco caro. Además, si alguna vez tuviera una hija me gustaría llamarla Valentina (porque me encanta el nombre, no por el perfume).

Winter: Invierno. Odio cuando hace calor. Me encanta cuando hace frío. Así que, ¿sorprende a alguien que el invierno sea mi estación favorita? Mi cumpleaños es en invierno, Navidad es en invierno... ¿cómo no me iba a gustar?

Zero coke: coca-cola zero. Soy ADICTA a la coca-cola zero. He intentado beber menos coca-cola y más agua y puedo pero es que mi vida no es lo mismo sin cocacola.

Today's post is very different, but it's still something I really wanted to write about. I found out about UNICEF Tap Project not very long ago, and I think it's a fantastic project and a great way to help and not many people know about it, which is why I wanted to share it will you.

What is UNICEF Tap Project? Well, for every five minutes you spend off your phone, Unicef will donate one day of clean water to a child in need. And all you have to do is open their website, and go live your life. And if you're bored without your phone, don't worry! It's not the end of the world! Their site will show you cool facts while you're letting time pass.

The idea after this project is that many people claim they can't live without your phone. And meanwhile, millions of children don't have access to clean water. So Unicef challenges you to see how long you can go without something less vital...

I think this is a great idea, because not only can you help those who need it in a very comfortable way for you, but this project can also help you!

Yes, you. It can help you stay off your phone when you need to avoid distractions - like if you're in class, or at work, or working on a new post for your blog. It can help you socialize more! Nex time you're going out for lunch with your friends, or your family, or your SO, I challenge you to open their site on your and your companions' phones to keep you from using it all the time.

I've also been letting their website open all night since my sister told me about this project, so you can help without really doing anything! (Just make sure your phone is connected to a power source, or you'll wake up with no battery. Yep... that happened to me...)

And I'm also challenging you to beat my record! (the one I did awake, of course)

Can you live without your phone?

El post de hoy es bastante diferente, pero aun así quería escribir sobre ello. Hace no mucho, descubrí el proyecto Tap Project de UNICEF, y me pareció un proyecto fantástico y una forma genial de ayudar , y no mucha gente sabe de él, por lo que quería compartirlo con vosotros.

¿Qué es el proyecto Tap Project de UNICEF? Pues verás, por cada cinco minutos que pases sin usar el móvil, unicef dona un día de agua potable a un niño que lo necesite. Y lo único que tú tienes que hacer es abrir su página web, e ir a vivir tu vida. Y si te aburres sin poder usar tu teléfono, ¡no te preocupes! ¡El mundo no se acaba aquí! Porque en la web te va mostrando datos interesantes para que se te haga más ameno dejar que el tiempo pase.

La idea que inspiró este proyecto es que muchas personas aseguran que no pueden vivir sin su teléfono móvil. Y mientras tanto, millones de niños ni siquiera tienen acceso a agua potable. Así que Unicef decidió retarte a ver cuánto tiempo puedes pasar tú sin algo muchos menos vital...

Me parece que es una idea genial, porque no solo puedes ayudar a los que no necesitan de una forma muy cómoda para ti, sino porque además, ¡este proyecto de puede ayudar a ti!

Sí, sí, a ti. Te puede ayudar a mantenerte alejado del teléfono cuando necesites evitar distracciones - como cuando estás en clase, o en el trabajo, o escribiendo un nuevo post para tu blog- 'Y también te puede ayudar a socializarte! Te propongo algo, la próxima vez que salgas a comer con tus amigos, o tu familia, o tu pareja, te reto a abrir esta página en todos vuestros móviles para así evitaros usarlos.

Otra cosa que hago, es abrir esta página por la noche mientras estoy dormida, así puedo ayudar sin hacer realmente nada. (Eso sí, asegúrate de tener el móvil cargando, o cuando te despiertes habrá muerto. Sí... lo digo porque a mí también me ha pasado).

Hopefully, this will be my last year at Univesity and this is a post I've been planning to do practically since I started blogging. With the year coming to an end, and my graduation beggining to look like something that might actually happen some day, I decided it was about time I showed you what's inside my college bag.

My bag is the Citybag with zips bag from Zara, in black. I wasn't sure about buying it at first because it was a bit pricey, but... I must say it was worth every cent! I'm absolutely in love with it. And my bags never make it for a whole year... until this one. I've had it for three years and a little metal piece did break in a bike accident but overall I think it's still great and I love it and I don't think I'll stop using it any time soon.

It's super big and has a lot of pockets so I can carry a ton of things in it, which is a must when you spend 12 hours a day outside. The main reason why I bought it is because it was big enough to hold my folder and I'm so glad I did!

But... What's inside?

I don't carry the same things every single day because I may need different things depending on how long I'm gonna be there that day, or what I'm during both there and afterwards, but these are the things I try to take every day:

· iPhone. I can't live without my iPhone. I would never ever leave my phone without it.

· Extra battery and charging cord. As I said, I spend A LOT of hours there and there's no way my phone battery can make it through all those hours so I always take a charging cord and charge it when I'm in a room with computers, and an extra battery in case I can't use any computer.

· Headphones. It takes me an hour (on public transport) to get to my university, and another hour to come back. I'd die without music...

· Wallet. This is obviously a must. I don't like leaving my house without money.

· Kleenex. Just in case

· Pencil case. You should obviously take a pencil case to class, to take notes, or work on assignments, doodle during boring lectures...

· Agenda. I like to use an agenda to write down the due date of assignment, tests, to write down when I'm meeting someone or what I'm meant to do each day. I'm a bit of a control freak.

· Post-it's. I love post-it's. For key notes, for special events on my agenda or to use as bookmarks.

· Hand-sanitizer. To be honest, I hate hand dryers because they're sooooo sloooooow, so I'd rather just use hand-sanitizer. Also, because I have to eat there a lot of days, I like using it before and/or after eating.

· Lip balm. My lips are super dry so I need lip balm 24/7. Right now my lips are terrible so the only product I'm using is Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream.

· USB Drive. A total must when you're studying an engineering. I have to save my assignments somewhere.

· Paracetamol. My head sometimes starts hurting a lot (oh the life of the student!) so... I'd better have one of these by hand when it happens.

· Water. I always try to take something to drink because I get thirsty during the day. It's usually water or ice-tea.

· iPad or MacBook. Most of my teachers upload notes on the internet so I always save them on my iPad as I would go broke if I printed everything. Also, since I study computer science engineering I need my computer to work on mostly every assignment so I need to take it with me a lot of days.

· Folder. I forgot to include this in the photo too, but I obviously need my folder. I like to use one single folder where I keep my notes from all my courses.

Con un poco de suerte, este será mi último año en la universidad y este post llevo queriendo escribirlo casi desde que empecé el blog. Ahora que el año se está acabando, y que mi graduación empieza a parecer algo que podría llegar a pasar alg´un día, creo que ha llegado el momento de comprartir qué llevo en mi bolso de la universidad.

Mi bolso es el Citybag with zips de Zara, en negro. Al principio no estaba segura de si comprarlo porque es un poco caro pero tengo que admitir que se merece hasta el último céntimo. ¡Estoy enamorada de él! Los bolsos nunca me duraban ni un año... hasta que tuve este. Hace tres años que lo tengo y aun aguanta. Una piececita de metal se rompió en un accidente de bici, pero en general se mantiene en muy bien estado y no tengo intención de dejar de usarlo.

Es super grande y tiene un montón de bolsillos así que puedo llevar muchas cosas, que es genial cuando pasas 12 horas al día fuera. La principal razón por la qeu lo compré es porque era lo suficientemente grande para que cupiera mi carpeta. ¡Y me alegro de haberlo hecho!

Pero... ¿Qué hay dentro?

No todos los días llevo lo mismo ya que necesito distintas cosas dependiendo de cuántas horas vaya a pasar en la universidad, o que voy a hacer alli y/o después... Pero estas son las cosas que intento llevar todos los días:

· iPhone. No puedo vivir sin mi iPhone. Nunca saldría sin él.

· Batería externa y cable. Como he dicho, paso MUCHAS horas allí y la batería de mi iPhone no podría aguantar. ASí que siempre llevo un cable para cargarlo cuando estoy en un aula con ordenadores, y una batería externa para cuando no tengo ningún ordenador accesible.

· Auriculares. Tardo una hora (en transporte público) en ir a la universidad, y otra en volver. Me moriría sin música...

· Cartera. Esto es evidentemente algo obligado. No podría salir de casa sin llevar dinero encima...

· Kleenex. Por si acaso

· Estuche. Por supuesto, necesitas el estuche para tomar apuntes, hacer trabajos, o garabatear en las clases demasiado aburridas.

· Agenda. Me gusta unas una agenda para apuntar cuándo tengo que entregar trabajos, cuándo hay exámenes, cuándo he quedado... ¡todo! Me gusta tener las cosas bajo control.

· Post-it's. Me encantan los post-it's. Para apuntar cosas clave, o eventos especiales en mi agenda, o incluso para usarlos como marcapáginas.

· Desinfectante. Para ser sincera, odio los secadores de manos porque son taaaaan leeeentooooos. Prefiero usar desinfectante de manos. Además, muchos días tengo que quedarme a comer allí y así lo puedo usar antes/después de comer.

· Vaselina. Tengo los labios super secos y necesito vaselina todo el tiempo. Ahora mismo están fatal y el único producto que uso es Eight Hour Cream de Elizabeth Arden.

· Pendrive. Obligado cuandoestudias una ingeniería. En algún lado tengo que guardar todos mis trabajos.

· Paracetamol. A veces la cabeza me duele un montón (la vida del estudiante) así que más vale tener uno de estos a mano para cuando esto ocurre.

· Agua. Siempre intento llevar algo de beber porque me entra sed durante el día. Normalmente llevo agua o té frío.

· iPad o MacBook. La mayoría de mis profesores suben los apuntes de la asignatura a internet así que siempre los guardo en el iPad porque si tuviese qeu imprimir todo me arruinaría. Además, al estudiar informática, necesito el ordenador para casi todas las asignaturas, así que muchos días necesito llevarlo conmigo.

· Carpeta. No sale en la foto pero también llevo mi carpeta. Me gusta usar una sola para todos los apuntes de todas las asignaturas.

Why I blog, and not vlog

Some time ago a friend of mine asked me why I had a blog and didn't start a YouTube channel instead. Her exact words were that "blogging is so 2008". I could have actually given her a million reasons why I prefer blogs over vlogs, but instead I went for an "I don't know". But guess what? Of course I know. And since I express myself better by writing rather than speaking (there goes one reason), I decided to put all of them in one post.

1. You can go as fast as you want . This is the number one reason why I prefer blogs over vlogs is that. One paragraph is boring? Move on to the next one. Blogger writes too much? I can only read the head titles, or look at the photos. But you can't do that with YouTube videos. Sure, you can skip parts, but you have to make a guess and trust the YouTube is done with the part you're no longer interested in, and that you didn't miss anything too important.

2. Multitasking. I can write my posts while I'm watching a tv show, or listening to music. I sometimes even write posts on my phone while commuting.

3. Writing posts whenever you want. When you want to film a video, you should be in a quite place, with daylight… Well, I write most of my posts from my bed, late at night. I like being able to write whenever I want. If my 9am lecture gets too boring and I get an idea for a blog post, I can just start working on it. I wouldn't be able to do that with a video.

4. Cute templates. I love designing my templates. And it would not give that up for anything. And I love visiting blogs and seeing all the different and beautiful blog designs, and, unfortunately, that's something youtubers don't have.

5. Not worrying about how I look. As I said, I write most of my posts at bed at night. In my onesie, with a messy bun, wearing glasses, and no makeup. And I may not look my best like that it's just so comfortable! I would never film a video looking like that. And I'm telling you… I'm so grateful l can do what I do with no bra on.

6. Camera. I don't have a camera that's good enough for filming videos. I can barely take a decent photo for my blog posts.

7. Language. Ok, so English is not my mother tongue. So even though I can speak quite fluently, my English is definitely not perfect -as I'm guessing you've probably told my now- and I obviously have a Spanish accent. For this reason, I'm a lot more comfortable writing than speaking.

Note: I obviously to watch YouTube videos, and I definitely did not mean to offend any YouTubers because I really do admire what they do.

Do you blog or vlog? Why did you choose to do what you do?

Hace no mucho una amiga me preguntó por qué tenía un blog y no un canal de YouTube. Sus palabras exactas fueron de "los blogs son tan 2008". En realidad podría haberle dado mil razones por las que prefiero los blogs a los vlogs, pero en vez de eso me limité a un "no sé". ¿Pero sabéis qué? ¡Que claro que sé! Y como me expreso mejor escribiendo (y ahí tenéis una razón), he decidido ponerlas todas en un post.

1. Tú eliges cómo de rápido avanzar. Esta es el principal motivo por el que prefiero los blogs. ¿Un párrafo es muy aburrido? ¡Pasa al siguiente! ¿Alguien se va por las ramas? Solo leo los encabezados, o solo miro las fotos. Con los videos no puedes hacer eso. Sí, puedes avanzar el video, pero tienes que intentar adivinar donde se va a acabar la parte aburrida y empezar lo interesante, y cruzar los dedos por que no te hayas perdido nada interesante.

2. Multi-tarea. Me gusta poder escribir mientras veo una serie, o escucho música. A veces hasta escribo los posts mientras voy de camino a algún sitio.

3. Escribir cuando quieras. Cuando tienes que grabar un video, necesitas un lugar tranqulo y en silencio, con mucha luz... Bueno, cuando escribo mis posts normalmente estoy tirada en la cama ya de noche. Me gusta poder escribir cuando yo quiera. Si mi clase de las 9 de la mañana es muy aburrida y se me ocurre un post, puedo empezar a escribirlo. Con un video no podría hacer eso.

4. Plantillas bonitas. Me encanta diseñar plantillas. Y no renunciaría a ello por nada en el mundo. Y me encanta visitar blogs y ver todos los diseños cuquis y distintos y, por desgracia, los youtubers no tienen nada como eso.

5. No tener que preocuparme por mi aspecto. Como he dicho antes, escribo los posts por la noche desde la cama. En mi onesie, con un moño mal hecho, llevando gafas, y sin maquillake. No tendré mi mejor aspecto, ¡pero estoy super cómoda! Nunca grabaría un vídeo con esa pinta. Y te diré una cosa... me encanta poder hacer lo que hago sin sujetador.

6. Cámara. No tengo una cámara lo suficientemente buena como para grabr vídeos. A penas puedo sacar fotos decentes para mis posts.

7. Idioma. El inglés es el idioma principal de mi blog, pero no es mi lengua materna. Así que aunque puedo hablar con bastante soltura, mi ingés no es del todo perfecto, y por supuesto tengo acento español al hablar. Por eso no me siento mucho más cómoda escribiendo que hablando en alto.

Nota: Por favor, que ningún youtuber se ofenda con este post. Por supuesto que veo vídeos de youtube y me gustan y admiro lo que hacéis.

Creme Egg Brownie

My sister and I love creme eggs so much, so creme egg brownies have become like an Easter classic at my house. I just love making - and especially eating - these every year! And don't get me started on eating all the leftover creme eggs...

To make these you will only need your favorite brownie recipe - or mix if you prefer that - and some creme eggs (I used a bag of mini creme eggs, i.e. 8 mini ones).

As for the brownie recipe, this is my favorite one:

3 eggs
3 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 bar of fondant chocolate
1 bar of milk chocolate
1/2 stick or butter
8 mini creme eggs, cut in halves

In a bowl, mix the eggs, flour, sugar and baking powder. Then set aside.

Melt the chocolate and butter over boiling water.

Because it takes a lot for the water to heat and boil, I usually prepare the egg mixture while I'm waiting.

Now mix the chocolate and the egg mixture.

And pour into a pan. I used a silicon one so the brownie wouldn't stick to it. But make sure you grease your pan if you're using a metal one.

And there's no creme egg brownie without creme eggs.

Cut all of those babies in halves.

My tip: if you dip the knife in the hot water you used for melting the chocolate, they will be much easier to cut.

And place the eggs on top of the brownie batter.

What's your favorite Easter candy?

A mi hermana y a mí nos encantan los huevos creme egg de Cadbury, y el brownie de creme eggs se ha convertido en un clásico de Pascua - o Easter - en mi casa. Me encanta hacerlos cada año y sobre todo, ¡comerlos! Y lo mejor de todo es comer todos los huevitos que sobran.

Para hacerlos solo necesitas tu receta favorita de brownie - o un preparado si lo prefieres - y unos creme eggs (Yo usé una bolsa de la versión mini en la que vienen 8) *.

Y en cuanto a la receta de brownie, mi favorita es ésta:

3 huevos
3 cucharadas de harina
3 cucharadas de azúcar
1 cucharadita de levadura
1 tableta de chocolate fondant
1 tableta de chocolate con leche
1/2 barrita de mantequilla
8 mini creme eggs

En un bol, mezcla los huevos, la harina, el azúcar y la levadura. Luego, reservar,

Funde el chocolate y la mantequilla al baño maría.

Como el agua tarda un montón en calentarse y hervir, normalmente preparo la mezcla de los huevos mientras espero a que se caliente.

Ahora mezcla el chocolate junto con la mezcla de los huevos.

Y pon la mezcla en un molde. Yo he usado uno de silicona para que el brownie no se pegase. Si usas uno de metal, asegúrate de engrasarlo bien antes.

Y no hay brownie de creme eggs sin creme eggs.

Parte a todas esas criaturitas por la mitad.

Mi consejo: si mojas el cuchillo en el agua caliente que hemos usado para derretir el chocolate, se cortan muchísimo mejor.

Y coloca las mitades encima de la masa del brownie.

¡Y a disfrutar!

Non-UK bloggers problems

Most of the blogs I read, and most of my visits, are from the UK. I always say I'm kind of undercover in the UK blogging community. And even though I love it, there are certain things or moments where you can't be part of it completely. I've met more bloggers who are in this same situation, so these are a few of our non-UK bloggers problems.

1. Meet-ups. I'm so jealous every time I see there's a bloggers meet-up on twitter. I've met so many lovely bloggers on twitter and I wish I could go to all these meet-ups and meet them in person (wow! so many meet's. oops!)

2. Products you can't buy. It's very frustrating when I read a review about a product that seems amazing, or fall in love with a product I've seen in a haul post, and I can't buy that product here, or the company doesn't ship to my country. Oh! And having to pay 20€ shipping for a £5 product counts like they don't ship here.

3. Giveaways. 90% of the giveaways I see are UK-only. And they're always super lovely!

4. Freebies. I don't know if this happens to you too, but sometimes brands contact me willing to give me one of their products so I can write a review for my blog, but once I give them my address it's always the same response: We only ship to the UK.

5. Different calendars.We celebrate some occasions on different days. I see all those "what I got for Christmas" post and I haven't even bought mine. And there's a two-month difference between Mother's Day in the UK and here!

6. Language. If English is not your mother tongue there's the added difficulty of having to express yourself in a language that's not yours and trying that your posts don't look like a primary school essay.

La mayoría de los blogs que leo, y la mayoría de mis visitas, son de Reino Unido. Siempre me parece que estoy como infiltrada en su comunidad de bloggers. Y aunque me encanta, hay algunas cosas y momentos de los que no puedo ser parte por completo. Conozco a otras bloggers en esta situación, y estos son algunos de los problemas que tenemos los bloggers que no somos de Reino Unido.

1. Quedadas. Me da un montón de envidia cada vez que veo una quedada para bloggers en twitter. En twitter he conocido a tantos bloggers tan pero tan majos... ¡Me encantaría poder ir a todas las quedadas y conocer a todos en persona!

2. Productos que no puedes comprar. Es muy frustrante cuando leo una reseña de un producto que parece increíble, o me enamoro de algo que he visto que otra persona ha comprado, pero yo no puedo comprarlo aquí, o la compañía no envía a mi país.Ah! Y si tienes que pagar 20€ de gastos de envío por un producto de £5, cuenta como que no envían aquí.

3. Sorteos. El 90% de los sorteos que veo son solo para Reino Unido. ¡Y siempre me encantan!

4. Cosas gratis. No sé si esto le pasa a alguien más, pero a veces algunas marcas me escriben para ofrecerme probar alguno de sus productos a cambio de que escriba sobra ellos en mi blog, pero cuando les doy mi dirección para que me lo envíen siempre obtengo la misma respuesta: solo enviamos a Reino UnidoUK.

5. Distintos calendarios. Hay fiestas que las celebramos días distintos. Siempre veo posts de lo que han recibido otras personas por Navidad, ¡y yo aun no he ni comprado mis regalos! Y hay dos meses de diferencia entre el día de la madre allí y aquí.

6. Idioma. Si el inglés no es tu lengua materna, hay una dificultad añadida de intentar expresarte en un idioma que no es el tuyo, e intentar que tus posts no parezcan una redacción de un niño de primaria.

DIY Tea bag tags

You have probably seen me complain a lot on twitter but I've been sick, which had me drinking a lot of tea - which I'm not a big fan of (please don't hate me!) so I needed to do something that would make me feel better about drinking it so I decided to make the whole tea experience a lot cuter and if you do like tea, I think this is probably an idea you will like!

I started off by drawing my new tags on a piece of paper. You can do anything you think of: from the classic tag-shaped tag with a cute message, to your favorite emoji. I'm terrible at drawing - I'm completely useless - so I kept it very simple.

And then, of course, get your tea bags, and remove that boring tag.

And replace it with yours!

Are you a tea person or a coffee person (like me)?

Probablemente me hayas visto quejarme mucho en twitter pero por si no lo has visto, he estado mala, y por culpa de eso he estado bebiendo un montón de té - que no me gusta demasiado (no me odiéis) y quería hacer algo para hacer que el acto de beber té fuese un poco mejor. Así que se me ocurrió hacer que toda la experiencia fuese un poco más mona. Y si a ti sí te gusta, creo que esta idea te va a gustar.

Empecé por dibujar nuevas etiquetitas en un folio. Puedes dibujar cualquier cosa que se te ocurra: desde la típica etiqueta con un mensaje cuqui, a tu emoji favorito. A mí se me da fatal dibujar - soy una completa inepta para eso - así que me limité a lo básico.

Luego, por supuesto, coge tus bolsitas y quita la etiqueta que ya viene.

¡Y reemplázala por las tuyas!

Being a blogger is a lot of hard work, and requires using a lot of resources: this app to edit my photos, this one to engage with an audience, this other app to know how my blog is doing... right? Fortunately, I found some resources that made the whole blogging experience a lot easier.

1. Grammarly - I'm going to start with my personal favorite. As I'm sure you know, English is not my first language, and I make a lot of mistakes, so I'm so glad I found this app. Grammarly corrects your grammar (woah! I bet none of you were expecting it). I installed the extension on Chrome so it corrects my posts as I'm writing them. Honestly, it's so quick and comfortable, and it makes my life so much easier!

2. Ifttt - I use it to share my posts on twitter and facebook. You create recipes that look like "if blog, then twitter". And ifttt does the rest.

3. Google Analytics - This site helps you understand how your blog is doing: how many people visit your blog, at what times, what posts are viewed the most, where your visitors are from...

4. Buffer - Buffer allows you to schedule and queue tweets! It's great if you want to promote your blog but you're too forgetful/busy like I am to remember to tweet your link every few hours yourself. And it lets you see how those tweets do! And you can re-buffer your top tweets!

5. Grab button generator - This site generates your grab button code. Just enter the URL of your blog, the URL of your button, and copypaste the result in your sidebar! (Or wherever you want)

6. PicMonkey - I'm sure most of you know PicMonkey. You can use this site to edit your photos. I find it extra useful when you want to add some text on them. And it's so easy to use!

7. Coffitivity - Coffitivity recreates the ambient sounds of a cafe to boost your creativity and help you work better.

8. Emoji in blog - Do you wish you could add these do your posts? Guess what! You can! I'm pretty much addicted to emojis. You can find all of them at this site and copy paste them in your posts.

What links/resources/tools make your blogging process easier?

Llevar un blog es algo que requiere muchísimo trabajo, y usar muchísimos recursos: tal app para editar las fotos, esta otra para llegar a una audiencia, y esta para ver qué tal funciona el blog... Por suerte, hay algunos recursos que hacen todo un poquito más fácil.

1. Grammarly - Esta es mi favorita. La uso para escrbir los posts en inglés. Es una app para corregir tu gramática (en inglés). Yo tengo instalada la extensión de chrome y así me va corrigiendo todo según voy escribiendo . Es super fácil de usar, y rápido y cómodo. De verdad te hace la vida mucho más fácil.

2. Ifttt - La uso para compartir mis entradas en facebook y twitter. Puedes crear recetas del estilo "si blog, entonces twitter" y ifttt se encarga del resto.

3. Google Analytics - Este sitio te ayuda a ver qué tal está yendo tu blog: cuánta gente lo visita, a qué horas, qué posts se ven más, de dónde son tus visitas...

4. Buffer - Ya hablé de buffer en mi post sobre mis apps favoritas. Buffer te deja programar tweets, lo que viene genial si quieres promocionar tu blog en twitter pero eres super desastre y olvidadiza como yo. Y también te deja ver las analíticas de los tweets. Y puedes volver a encolarlos directamente.

5. Grab button generator - Esta web te genera el típico código de botón que tiene una cajita abajo para que tus visitas lo copien y pongan tu botón en su blog. Solo introdute la URL de tu blog, la de tu botón, y copia y pega el resultado en tu sidebar! (O donde lo quieras)

6. PicMonkey - Seguro que la mayoría ya conocéis PicMonkey. Puedes usar esta web para editar fotos. Me resulta super útil cuando quieres hacer algo rapidito como añadir texto. ¡Y es super fácil de usar!

7. Coffitivity - Coffitivity recrea el sonido de ambiente de una cafetería para aumentar tu creatividad y ayudarte a trabajar mejor.

8. Emoji in blog - ¿No te encantaría poder añadir estos a tus publicaciones? ¡Adivina qué! ¡Puedes! Yo soy un poco adicta a expresarme con emojis. En esta web los tienes todos. Sólo tienes que copiar y pegar en tus posts.

My favorite apps

I'm the kind of girl that probrably spends way too much time on her phone, so I have a lot of apps to keep me entertained, and I'm always looking for new apps. I have no idea how people live with so few apps, I think maybe they don't know these apps exist. Because ever since I tried them, I cannot delete them from my phone. And I have a lot more apps on my phone, but these are my favorite ones! Oh! And they're all free!

- SleepStream 2. This app plays relaxing sounds to help you fall asleep. I don't know if it's brilliant or it's a placebo but it works perfectly for me. I do try to use it only in emergencies because it works way to well, so when I wake up in the morning and the music is still playing I want to continue sleeping. But I'd rather wake up and want to fall back asleep, than not sleep at all

- Analytics Tiles. I use this app to take a look at my google analytics and it makes everything so simple and easy and pretty.

- Buffer. You may have read about buffer from other bloggers. I use it to schedule tweets promoting my blog posts. I only started doing this recently but it's helping a lot. And all you need to do is spend 5 minutes in the morning to rebuffer all my tweets. I may talk about this in another posts.

- Airbrush. I discovered this app thanks to the ultra lovely Pau from Blossom Ikebana. It's a photo editing app. But it's more like THE app when it comes to photos of you. Take a selfie, edit it a little bit from Airbrush, and admire your beauty for the next 30 minutes. I also love the filters it has.

- Photoshop express. This is the app I use to edit all of my Instagram photos. For me, this is the best app to make my photos all bright and white.

- Instalyrics. I spend a lot of time on public transport, which leads to a lot of time listening to music. Most of my music is in English, but English is not my mother tongue so sometimes I don't get all the lyrics and I want to know what the hell they're saying. You can open this app while listening to music and it will open the lyrics on safari.

- TVShow time. I watch a lot of tv shows and it's hard for me to keep up with all of them. This is what I use this app for. Keeping track of which episodes I've watched, when the new episodes are coming out... and you can also comment on the episodes.

- Donut Day. Donut Day tells you about all the fun holidays. Like Donut Day, or International Ice cream day. I actually just made that one up. I hope it exists!

Yo soy de esa clase de chicas que probablemente pasan demasiado tiempo usando su movil, así que tengo un montón de aplicaciónes para mantenerme entretenida, y siempre estoy buscando apps nuevas. No sé cómo hacen algunas personas para sobrevivir con tan pocas aplicaciónes. No creo que sepan que estas apps existan, porque yo desde que las instalé, no soy capaz de borrarlas. Y aunque tengo bastantes más, estas son mi favoritas. ¡Ah! ¡Y todas son gratis!

- SleepStream 2. Esta app reproduce sonidos relajantes para ayudarte a dormir. No sé si está creada por una mente brillante, o todo es un efecto placebo, per a mí me funciona perfecto. Aunque intento usarla sólo en casos de emergencia, porque funciona incluso demasiado bien. Cuando me despuerto por la mañana y sigue sonando, me dan ganas de volver a dormirme. Pero igualmente prefiero despertarme y querer seguir durmiendo, que no dormir nada.

- Analytics Tiles. Esta app la uso para ver las analíticas de mi blog, para lo que usa google analytics. Y te muesta todo de una forma super simple y bonita.

- Buffer. Probablemente hayas leído sobre buffez en cualquier otro blog. Lo uso para programar tweets promocionando mi blog. Y sólo me lleva 5 minutitos por las mañanas para darle a "re-buffer" mis tweets. Probablemente hablaré sobre esto en otro post.

- Airbrush. Esta app la descubrí gracias a la super adorable Pau de Blossom Ikebana. Es una app de edición de fotos. O mejor dicho, es LA app para editar fotos tuyas. Te haces una selfie, la retocar un poquitín con Airbrush y puedes pasarte los próximos 30 minutos admirando tu belleza. ¡Y me encantan los filtros que tiene!

- Photoshop express. Esta es la app que uso para editar las fotos de mi Instagram. Es con la que mejor consigo que mis fotos queden blanquitas y brillantes como a mí me gustan.

- Instalyrics. Paso muchísimo tiempo en transporte público, lo que lleva a mucho tiempo escuchando música. Casi toda mi música está en inglés y a veces no capto todas las letras. I spend a lot of time on public transport, which leads to a lot of time listening to music. Lo único que tengo que hacer es abrir esta app mientras escucho música, y la app solita te abre las letras en internet.

- TVShow time. Sigo bastantes series de televisión y me cuesta seguir la programación de todas. Con esta app puedo guardar qué capítulos he visto, cuáles no, cuándo salen capítulos nuevos... ¡Incluso puedes comentar los capítulos!

- Donut Day. Donut Day te dice qué se celebra hoy. Como "Día del donut", o "día del helado". Lo del día del helado es un ejemplo que me he inventado yo, pero espero qeu exista.

10 places I'd rather be

I love traveling. If I had the money, I would spend my life traveling. I feel like the world is so big and there are so many beautiful places to visit... I just want to see as many of them as possible. So if I could go anywhere right now, these are some places I'd rather be.

I actually saw this post in Hayley Olson blog and I immediately knew I had to write one for my blog too.

1. Buenos Aires. I have wanted to visit Buenos Aires since I was like 12 years old, so it has been a while now. I have spent so many hours watching tv shows based on Buenos Aires that I cannot wait to visit it for myself one day.

2. Neuschwanstein Castle. This is the castle that inspired The Sleeping Beauty castle. I think it's absolutely beautiful, and I would definitely feel like I was in my own fairy tale if I was there.

3. New York. I cannot get enough of this city. I just feel so good when I'm there. I am completely fascinated by it. I really hope that one day I can go there and not have to come back.

4. Vienna. This city always seemed so pretty and charming to me. It's another city I have been wanting to visit for a while.

5. Rome. I have been to Italy, but not to Rome. I'm the only one in my family who hasn't visited it and I just can't wait to! (Also, the Lizzie McGuire movie is to blame a tiny bit).

6. Greece. Any place in Greece. I have visited Greece in the past too, but that was years ago. I love Greek culture, and food, and people... And their islands are gorgeous. Such a beautiful country!

7. Vancouver. Vancouver seems pretty much like the perfect city for me. I can't stop googling pictures of it and I just find it so stunning. I mean, look at that skyline!

8. Lapland. I love winter, and I love Christmas, so I would love to visit this place. I want the snow, and the reindeer and maybe even Santa!

9. San Francisco. For some reason, it seems like such a cozy city. All the cute colorful houses!

10. Sydney. I find Australia so appealing, maybe because it's the farthest from here. Oh! And I don't want to die before I see a koala bear and a kangaroo.

Where would you rather be?

¡Me encanta viajar! Si tuviese el dinero suficiente, me pasaría la vita viajando. Me parece que el mundo es tan grande y hay tantos lugares tan bonitos que visitar... Me gustaría visitar tantos como pueda. Si puede ir a cualquier sitio ahora mismo, estos son algunos de los sitios en los que preferiría estar.

En realidad la idea de este post lo saqué del blog de Hayley Olson. Me ecantó la idea así que no pude resistirme a escribir un post así.

1. Buenos Aires. Llevo queriendo visitar Buenos Aires desde que tenía como 12 años, así que hace bastante ya. He pasado demasiadas horas viendo series Argentinas que pasaban en Buenos Aires así que me muero de ganas de poder ver todo en persona.

2. Neuschwanstein Castle. Es el castillo que inspiró el de Cenicienta de Disney. Me parece completamente precioso. Creo que me sentiría como si estuviese dentro de un cuento.

3. Nueva York. Ninguna cantidad de tiempo en esta ciudad es suficiente. Me siento super bien cuando estoy allí. ¡Me encanta! Sueño con el día en el que pueda ir sin tener que volver.

5. Roma. He estado en Italia, pero no en Roma. De hecho, soy la única de mi familia que no ha estado en Roma. ¡Y no puedo esperar! Puede que las miles de veces que vi la película de Lizzie McGuire de pequeña hayan influído algo.

Nacho Pizza

This pizza has been very popular in Spain since one big pizza company (and the best, I must say) launched it this summer. I love pizza and I love nachos just as much as I love watching episodes of Friends, and that's a lot! So I had to find a way to make this pizza at home and I think you're going to love it too!

There are no rules in what you can put on your pizza, so feel free to chose your ingredients! Just add nachos and cheese to your shopping list!

Before you start making anything, you'll need a piece of aluminium foil.

Fold it a few times into a thin line and then fold it into a ring.

You could make your own dough, but I bought a roll of pizza dough.

And place your ring under the pizza dough.

With your fingers, press the dough inside the loop and the dough surrounding the loop so you get a nice little bowl in the middle of what will be your pizza.

As I said, you can use whichever sauce you want. I like to mix some tomato sauce and some barbecue sauce, and of course, add some oregano.

My sister and I love goat cheese so that's what we went with.

And the last - well, last before baking - step would be to fill our little bowl with cheese dip.

And bake that as you would bake your normal pizza. (For me that is 20 minutes at 180ºC )

Pizza is almost ready! Add your nachos on top and... voila! Nacho pizza!

"But wait, Be, how do I eat that?"

Grab your nachos, dip them in the cheese, and eat them.
When you finish eating your nachos, you've got your pizza!
Cut the center piece. But don't throw it out! That's the best part! Just don't eat the aluminium foil
Cut the rest of your pizza into regular pizza pieces and, of course, eat them!

You can also need your pizza with nachos on top, which is something I love to do... #sorrynotsorry

Finding balance between blogging & studying

Both blogging and studying are very time-consuming, so trying to do both at the same time is not exactly easy. However, a lot of us try to find a balance between the two of them and find us constantly struggling to find the time we need to keep up with both. Today I want to write about how I do it. Of course, this is what works for me, but that doesn't mean this is the only way to do it.

1. Don't procrastinate

This is like the hardest one for me. I'm like always tired for whatever it is that I made that day. Every excuse seems like a good excuse to lay on my bed watching episodes of Friends. But procrastinating will only take time away from things you're going to have to do anyway.

2. Keep an agenda

Okay, so I know a lot of people have a special agenda/book/binder just for blogging, but I use only one for everything. I mean, it's already hard for me to do everything in my only agenda, image if I had more than one! Also, since there is only one of me, I'd like to see everything I have to do on one day at the same time. If I have plans, or I have stuff to do for Uni, I'll work on my posts a different day.

And a mini tip, I like to use different colors for different things. I've actually been using the same color code since high school:

Blue for birthdays
Pink for plans
Purple for deadlines
Green for exams (because it's the color of good luck, and I need A LOT of that!=
Orange for my blog (I used to use yellow for school days and orange for holidays, but when I started blogging I realized I needed a new color so yellow disappeared from my agenda)
Black pen for everything else

3. Keep up to date

This has a lot to do with not procrastinating. I like to keep up with uni so I will have free time for blogging. And so I can concentrate entirely on blogging and not be like "omg! will I have time to finish that assignment on time? Wait when was the midterm exam again?".

4. Don't make blogging a chore

If you don't feel like blogging, either because you have exams, or assignments, or an actual social life, or you're not feeling well, well, take a break. It's ok. Your blog can wait. And your readers will wait too. I blog because I love to blog, but if blogging became a chore, I'm pretty sure I'd hate doing it.

5. Write down all your ideas

If you have a blog, and you say you've never suffered from bloggers block, I do not believe you. Nope. That's impossible. So what I do is, every time I have an idea for a blog post, I write it down so I won't forget about it. And when I don't know what to blog that week, or I'm trying to overcome bloggers block, I will go back to my list of post ideas.

Another mini tip: if you have an iPhone, I like to use the reminders app. I have a list just for blog post ideas. I always have my iPhone with me, so I can add ideas in this list at any moment and you can check them when you've posted them.

6. Draft and schedule

When I have some free time, I like to go to that list of post ideas that I just mentioned before and start working on those blog posts. That way, when I don't have time to write new posts, I don't have to! And in those moments, I swear I wish I could travel back in time and hug my past self and tell her (her? or me?) how much I love her and how thankful I am.

7. Recycle your photos

Taking and editing the photos for my posts takes so much time. And the worst thing is that you cannot take them at any time, you have to take your photos when there is daylight. And I'm usually in class then so that's an added difficulty. So what I sometimes do (although maybe I should keep it as a secret) is to go through my phone and try to look for a photo that I had previously taken and I could use for that post.
