First Janet, now Britney? Less than a week after Janet Jackson sparked speculation that she may be joining The X Factor as a judge, Britney Spears is now the subject of casting buzz. “Are we flattered that there could be interest? Yes,” Simon Cowell told reporters on a conference call on Wednesday, but wouldn’t discuss what he thinks Spears would bring to the show as a judge.

“I’ve learned a big lesson; keep your mouth shut. Don’t give it all away.”Fellow judge LA Reid also played coy about the Spears rumours. “The only thing you can count on,” he said, “is that we will likely have two girls.”

You might say that Britney Spears’ star is one the wane after hitting her career highs so many years ago, but it is worth noting that she is still rather young, and hopefully, she can get her act together to win her way back into the hearts of the adoring masses. She is not only the first person to pick up one million Google+ followers, but she did it again – by being the first person to hit the 2 million google+ follower mark. It has taken slightly more than a couple of months to double the original seven figure mark, and when you average it out, we are talking about approximately 30,000 new followers each day.

Hopefully this kind of social networking “success”, so to speak, will be able to spur her and her team on to realize that folks are still interested in her – and she had better get a whole lot of something out from her bag of tricks. How do you think celebrities should leverage their success and fame on social networks? I wonder out of the 2 million Google+ followers, how many of them have just turned 13.

Britney Spears 'wants to be judge on US X Factor'

Britney Spears, who is in the running with Janet Jackson, Pink and Mariah Carey to judge the 'US X Factor' after Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul's axing, reportedly wants to join Simon Cowell on the reality talent show.

The 30-year-old pop queen sees the second series of the American talent programme as a perfect way to show fans that she has put her troubles behind her. "She's a huge fan of The X Factor and thinks it's the perfect time for her to be a judge," the Sun quoted a friend as saying.

"She wants to show her fans she is back to her best and where better to do that than on national TV every week? "She knows all about the ups and downs of pop fame. And with her schedule relatively clear she has the time to dedicate to a different project," the friend said.

Cowell, 52, is still locked in discussions with producers and network Fox over who will be offered the two free positions. "Britney has had a tough few years but this would put her back at the very top. She would be great for the show and it could be great for her," a music industry insider said.

Judging spots can be huge earners. Jennifer Lopez is believed to get around 7.5 million pounds a season for 'American Idol', while Christina Aguilera is reported to have agreed a 6-million-pound deal to mentor on 'The Voice'. "In terms of excitement and intrigue Britney would top them all," the source added.

Britney Spears pays up to end $10 million perfume lawsuit

Britney Spears is coughing up cash after being accused of 'fraud' and 'deceit' over a fragrance deal.
The 29-year-old has reportedly agreed to pay a 'lump sum' to consulting company, Brand Sense Partners, who claim she jibbed them out of a 35 percent cut on a deal that saw Brit team up with Elizabeth Arden for her 'Radiance' perfume.

Just how much the singer will pay to get her named cleared is hush-hush, but according to TMZ, she'll also pay the company commissions over a 'period of years.' Brand Sense Partners filed the suit in March 2011, accusing Brit Brit of making a 'sneaky' deal with Elizabeth Arden to avoid paying them.

Britney Spears Paying Beauty Company in Settlement of Perfume Deal Lawsuit

Britney Spears has reportedly put an end to a lawsuit that accused her of fraud and deceit. According to TMZ, the "Till the World Ends" singer has finally settled the suit filed by Brand Sense Partners, LLC, the beauty company that helped her to secure a perfume deal with Elizabeth Arden.

Words are, Britney has agreed to pay Brand Sense Partners. The gossip site claimed that the 30-year-old, who has gotten engaged to longtime boyfriend Jason Trawick in December 2011, paid the beauty company commissions for a period of years as well as a lump sum. The financial terms of the settlement, however, are being kept private.

Brand Sense Partners accused Britney and her father Jamie Spears of fraud, deceit and breach of contract back in 2011. The company filed their suit in Los Angeles Superior Court in March, claiming the father and daughter duo robbed it of its commission from "any and all products" the singer worked on with Elizabeth Arden, including her Radiance fragrance.

The "Hold It Against Me" hitmaker was also accused of making "a separate deal with Elizabeth Arden in a sneaky underhanded effort to circumvent and evade its obligations to Brand Sense." Brand Sense also noted in its suit that Jamie was caught "red handed" acknowledging the deal, but then "complained that the commission was too high and said that Britney did not want to pay it."

WEST HOLLYWOOD - Britney Spears who became almost as famous for getting out of cars as she did for her singing and dancing is back in the news again.

According to Margarita Mixx of The Tinsel Town Times Tribune the 30-year-old singer was just photographed getting out of her car as her and her close friend Paris Hilton arrived at The Fiery Tongue of The Dragon Chinese Restaurant in West Hollywood.

Hilton exited the car first but she was wearing a pair of Heidi Montag Designer Jeans along with a Christina Aguilera Designer Blouse so she pretty much went unnoticed. But when Britney followed the paparazzi camera's suddenly went crazy as you could literally hear cameras clicking at the speed of sound.

Spears was wearing a very short plaid skirt that looked like something a San Fernando Valley Girl of 14 would probably wear. The "Oops...I Did It Again!" girl smiled and winked as she slowly took her time slipping out of the backseat of the Mercedes-Benz.

She was asked by Miss Mixx if she knew that her miniskirt and subsequent upskirt photos were going to get her on the front pages of lots of entertainment publications plus on entertainment media shows.

Britney leaned over and whispered in Margarita's ear, "I friggin hope so - goodness knows I need the publicity bad."Spears winked at Margarita and gave her a fist bump as she giggled and wiggled her way into the restaurant.

The world lost one of its true queens of pop and R&B on Saturday when Whitney Houston passed away at age 48 -- but a younger pop princess and the queen of reality TV joined forces to help remember her.

Held at the Beverly Hilton (site of Houston's death hours earlier), Houston's mentor Clive Davis and the Recording Academy's annual pre-Grammys bash was a solemn affair, though one attended by a huge roster of celebrities. Among the dozens of stars (Alicia Keys, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Hudson, Diana Ross, Princess Beatrice, Brandy, Mary J. Blige, Jessie J), Kim Kardashian stepped out for the evening -- and hung out with none other than Britney Spears.

Kardashian, 31, and Spears, 30, posed for photos together in gowns that showed off their world-famous cleavage. But "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" singer Houston wasn't far from anyone's minds that night, where Davis, 79, held a moment of silence before a slew of performances dedicated to her.

"Just heard the tragic news that Whitney Houston passed away. I pray for her daughter & loved ones. We will always love you Whitney," Kardashian tweeted before going out. Later in the evening, she added: "Just love...that's all we have. Nothing else matters."

Madonna may duet with Britney Spears again

Washington: Britney Spears is rumoured to be making an appearance in the lead track of Madonna’s latest album ‘MDNA’. According to a leaked image of what is purportedly the ‘MDNA’ album jacket, featured on the fan website BreatheHeavy.com, Spears will be seen in the song ‘Girls Gone Wild,’ Aol.com reported.

The Queen of Pop has also collaborated with Nicki Minaj and MIA for another song in her album called ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’, which she performed at the recently held half time show of the Super Bowl. Madonna and Spears had made news in 2003 when they shared an on-stage kiss at the VMA awards and in 2008 Spears had joined Madonna for her Sticky and Sweet tour stop in Los Angeles.

Britney Spears To Feature On Madonna's New Album?

Online rumours have suggested that Britney Spears will feature on Madonna's new album, MDNA. According to Britney fansite Breathe Slow, the Till The World Ends singer will appear on opening track Girls Gone Wild.

A leaked version of their supposed hook-up was posted on the website, but a spokesperson for Madge has refused to confirm or deny whether the collaboration will be included on the Queen of Pop's twelfth studio LP.

If the tune is real, it will be the second time Madonna has teamed up with Spears, following their 2003 duet Me Against The Music. The leaked slipcase also suggests that M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj will appear on tracks B-day Song and Some Girls, as well as lead single Give Me All Your Luvin'.

In other Madonna news, sales for Give Me All Your Luvin' have been discounted after Madge offered fans a promotion to download the track for free when pre-ordering her new record on iTunes. The Official Charts Company has confirmed the free downloads will not contribute to Madonna's overall chart position, clearing up confusion over why the single failed to make the midweek countdown.

They explained on Twitter: "It was viewed as an incentive to purchase the album before the single went officially on sale on Tuesday, so those sales were discounted. Madonna is climbing up the Official Singles Chart after two days on sale. Should go Top 40 on Sunday."
