Celebrities can do a lot of things to avoid certain unwanted tabloid headlines. Always emerge from their houses looking perfectly polished and dressed to avoid breakdown rumors. Avoid baggy shirts and large purses if they don’t want pregnancy speculation. For Emma Watson, it seems she should avoid going out with any redheads unless she wants people to think she’s aiming for a real-life Ron Weasley kiss.

Last week Emma suspiciously dinned at a Mexican restaurant in London with a guy with red hair. The Daily Mail also cited her companion’s glasses as a nod to his Ron look, which is doubly silly as everyone knows Ron doesn’t wear glasses. The unnamed man looks no more like Rupert Grint, who played Ron in the movies, than every girl with a pixie cut looks like Emma, but this comparison proves publications are still looking for anyway to connect Emma to the Harry Potter movies of her past.

Short hair, make-up adds, and even a spot in an Oscar nominated movie weren’t enough to get the general public to think Emma before Hermione, but with a staring role in the upcoming movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower maybe soon a date with a redhead will only mean the normal engagement rumors will follow Emma like any other young Hollywood star.

Emma Watson Enjoys the 'Freedom of Fashion'

Opening up about the tough part of being a celebrity, Emma Watson recently spoke about how she's often criticized for her looks. When the "Harry Potter" actress decided to chop her hair, it wasn't exactly liked by everyone.

“I had journalists asking me if this meant I was coming out, if I was a lesbian now,” she told the U.K.’s Independent. “That haircut did make me realize how subjective everyone’s opinion is.

Some people were crazy for it and some people just thought I’d lost my [mind].”The lights of Hollywood are sure to bring criticism, but Watson isn't apologizing for her sense of style.

“I’m a multidimensional person and that’s the freedom of fashion,” she said, “that you’re able to reinvent yourself through how you dress and how you cut your hair or whatever.”

However, we wonder if the 21-year-old was down-playing her true sense of style when she told French Elle, “When I don’t have to play Emma Watson in public, I’d rather not put myself out there. I have to be more careful with my look in my everyday life."

Emma can use a washing machine

Emma Watson has said that she has learned how to cook and use a washing machine. The 21-year-old actress told The Independent that it was important for her to get on with her life in the real world after the end of the Harry Potter series.

Watson said: “Doing the Potters was such a bubble, and then having to figure out how to function in the real world has been a challenge. But it’s been the small successes for me: I know how to use a washing machine, I can cook. It’s worth it to me not to feel disconnected from everything, feeling like I’m in touch with people who do other things than acting or being in the entertainment industry.”

She added: “I think humour has been a help. I have schoolfriends, a group of people around me, who have carried me through this whole experience and aren’t fazed if they ask, ‘Oh what are you doing tomorrow?’ and I say, ‘I’m going up to see Mario [Testino] in Notting Hill, he’s shooting me for the new Lancôme campaign’. “I don’t know - it is mad, and some days I feel a bit mad, but it’s the balance that keeps me sane. I don’t fully live it, this side of my life.”

Emma Watson, whose cropped hairdo has been lauded as influential, has revealed that its initial inception wasn't exactly constructive. The 21-year-old face of Lancome said that her red carpet style is also hotly contested.

The actress said that after graduating from the 'Harry Potter' franchise, "I was fully game for 'Throw me in this, throw me in that'.""The press destroyed me over this Rodarte dress I once wore - it was bright blue with chains on it. I loved it," she said.

Perhaps Watson has decided to tone it down as a result of the negativity. "I have to be more careful with my look in my everyday life," she said. Still, she refuses to apologize for the decisions she makes. "I'm a multidimensional person and that's the freedom of fashion that you're able to reinvent yourself through how you dress and how you cut your hair or whatever," she added.

Emma Watson regards being able to use a washing machine as a 'success'. The 21-year-old actress shot to fame playing Hermione Granger in the 'Harry Potter' movie series and admits it has been a 'challenge' learning how to function away from the 'bubble' of the franchise.

Emma Watson: Del Toro’s Latest Fantasy

Fresh off the set of My Week with Marilyn, it would seem that Emma Watson has caught the eye of Mexican filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro, with rumours circulating that she is set to be confirmed as the lead in his new fantasy adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.

Having risen to world-wide fame as a result of the Harry Potter film franchise, her latest performances both in the aforementioned and the soon to be released The Perks of being a Wallflower, have led many to question her suitability for a lead role, that will no doubt require a great deal more than those well-groomed eyebrows that she employed so frequently in her near decade as Hermione Granger.

With a filmography that boasts The Devil’s Backbone, Hellboy and the mesmerising Pan’s Labyrinth, Del Toro is a man who clearly knows what he is doing. Yet, whilst there can be no argument that Watson boasts the aesthetics required for the role, whether she possesses the necessary on-screen presence remains to be seen.

The kids are all right, you guys—just look at all the marvelous people they honored with nominations for the Kids Choice Awards this year! Lots of our favorite folks, flicks and reading material made the cut, proving once and for all that being underage doesn't mean you can't appreciate the finer points of pop culture. Which crushworthy celebs scored a nod from the kid-cademy? Who will be up for a sliming come March 31? Drum roll, please, and...

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Kristen Stewart all got noms for Favorite Actor (or Actress) honors—plus, there was an extra show of support for Taylor Lautner as Best Buttkicker. (Did Taylor kick a butt this year? We were too busy looking at his abs to worry about what his feet were up to.) And Selena Gomez and Miranda Cosgrove are both in the running for fave TV actress. And, shockingly, Justin Bieber got a nomination for Favorite Musician!

...Okay, just kidding, that's not shocking at all. But congrats, Biebs. They love you!
Meanwhile, the movie category was dominated by animated picks—except for the notable exception of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2." And if you're wondering what the under-18 set loves to read, you need look only as far as your own bookshelf: "The Hunger Games," "Harry Potter" and "Twilight make up three of the four selections! PSH. And they say that kids these days have no taste.

Emma Watson to star in Beauty and the Beast

Emma Watson will soon do a remake of the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast to be directed by Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro. Life after Harry Potter for Emma Watson will soon include a remake of the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast to be directed by Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth).
It will be a live-action version and not to be confused with the reissue in 3D of the 1991 animated version currently in release through May around the world.

British screenwriter Andrew Davies (Bridget Jones's Diary, The Three Musketeers) will be writing the script, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Watson who recently appeared in My Life With Marilyn with Oscar nominee Michelle Williams, will also costar in the indie film The Perks of Being a Wallflower with Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson & the Olympians) in 2012.

Del Toro, currently in production with Pacific Rim, a sci-fi action thriller starring Ron Perlman (Hellboy) and Golden Globe winner Idris Elba (Thor), has also been producing films such as Kung Fu Panda.

The filmmaker has a number of directing projects in development, including the animated film Trollhunter, Haunted Mansion for Disney and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Frankenstein films for Universal.

At the pre-BAFTA party in London on Friday night, Emma Watson looked ravishing in red. The Harry Potter star is all grown up, flaunting the most seductive of lipstick colors, just in time for Valentine's Day. Nothing says potent femininity like bright red lipstick. With cute freckles and sparkling eyes, the 21-year-old actress may be just the woman to bring red back, tossing more neutral colors and natural appearances aside for the beauty of bold. According to the Daily Mail, she was the red satin star of the Savoy Hotel party.

Watson definitely wore the most stunning look at Friday's event leading up to the British Academy Film Awards. She wore a lace and satin dress by Valentino, and the dress was a rose red to match her lip color. What can stand up to red lips, satin, and lace? Black high heels, black mascara, and a sultry expression rounded out Emma Watson's glamorous appearance at the pre-BAFTA party, thrown by Lancome. The young actress is the new, fresh face for the makeup brand.

To go with the deep red lip color, Watson's cheeks are enhanced with a soft flush of rose blush. Her brown eyes are accented with a dark brush of mascara, but no eye-catching eye shadow is needed, leaving the focus on the red and black makeup and outfit theme. The star wore her hair slicked back, away from her face. This creates a very mature look and also serves to highlight facial features. Red lipstick may be bold, intense, and even daring, but if Emma Watson can pull off the look and still appear innocent, maybe flirtatious red is going to make a comeback.

Emma Watson to star in Beauty and the Beast

Guillermo del Toro, the director behind the darkly fantastical modern fairytale Pan's Labyrinth, will direct Watson in a film version of the classic fairytale. Last summer del Toro was reported to have said that Watson was "perfect" for the part of Belle. She is now steps away from confirming the role, Variety has reported. Little else is known about the film, except that the script is being written by Andrew Davies, the screenplay writer for Bridget Jones' Diary.

The Warner Bros film will also be produced by del Toro, whose recent production filmography includes Puss In Boots, Kung Fu Panda 2, and a forthcoming remake of Pinocchio. The director is currently working on alien sci-fi epic Pacific Rim. Since filming Harry Potter, Emma Watson's film roles have included parts in My Week With Marilyn, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which is due for release later this year, and David Yates' Your Voice In My Head (2012).

Beauty and the Beast, which tells the tale of a merchant's daughter who is told that in order to save her father from death she must become mistress of a luxurious castle inhabited by an ugly man-beast, is a classic fairytale which has been passed down through the ages.

The first known publication of the story was in France in 1740. There have been various film adaptations of the story, including, notably, Jean Cocteau's 1946 production, which starred Josette Day as the Beauty, and also Disney's children's animation in 1993. Beauty was also rewritten in 2008 as an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
