I got a heads up in my inbox this morning on this playful collection being put out by Converse and Comme des Garçons. If you were a fan of their previous collection, I think this new one is amazing. I have always loved the PLAY collection by Comme des Garçons and I love the use of the PLAY heart logo on the shoe as an all over print. The PLAY for Converse Pro Leather 2013 collection will launch on May 28 world wide. It will be available in Milk and Black Mid and Ox silhouettes. Both the high and low tops will be available. I think I might have to get myself a pair of the white and black leather high tops (first picture). See more of the collection after the jump. Belated

My birthday was a few weeks ago and I just wanted to share my amazing birthday cupcakes that my sister had ordered for me. We've always talked about doing a Chanel themed birthday for my big 30 and she really out did herself. I still am completely in awe and in shock of what she did.

I also got a miniature of the graphic Chanel purse that I just got. Unbelievable. I am trying to figure out how to turn the fondant into a magnet. Right now the topper is sitting in my freezer.

As for my birthday dinner outfit I went with Isabel Marant. Since I was celebrating in Hawaii I thought her current Hawaiian themed collection was perfect. I am wearing the embroidered one shoulder top (get it here) with the Meriel shorts. I originally wanted the Natacha dress, but I thought the two piece was a better choice and I can wear it separately which the shorts has become a recent staple in my closet (see other outfits with the shorts here and here).

This was my dinner out on Friday. I wanted to play with mixing prints and patterns. The leopard print skirt paired with the checkered slingbacks just the solution to my pattern play. Its a bit whimsical especially with the vinyl Chanel clutch.

Temperatures are rising and hems are getting shorter. Its almost summer time. I wore these shorts out today. I first wore them for my birthday a week ago. I am all about fun summer shorts this season. Runner shorts and cute printed ones are a must for this summer. I picked up these awesome Dior sandals in Hawaii at the Dior boutique. It is the perfect nude sandals. I am obsessed with them.

Obsessed with the all white everything leather. I have a weak spot for Air Max's and when I saw these I literally almost fell out of my chair at work. They have a black color (here) one too, but I went for the all white. Crisp and clean. Glad I didn't go for Isabel Marant's perforated wedge sneaker this season because these take the cake. Cake Cake Cake, its not even my birthday...well it almost is.

Summer is almost here and these are few of my favorite items to get you ready.

Linen tanks or t-shirts are a definite necessity and you can go to Zara to pick up some affordable options at the moment without forking big bucks for the Etoile Isabel Marant one. Those Prada sandals are by far my favorite sandals in the world. I have the gold ones and I am on my second pair because I have worn them to death. I've been wanting a cool summer baseball cap and this floral print one is perfect. Everyone needs a good pair of cut-off shorts and the Ksubi ones are my favorites. I have the light denim color ones. Summer evenings can get cool when the sun sets so should always have a cool sweatshirt around. Totally obsessed with the Sandro sweatshirt. I want it for my Hawaii trip coming up. As for sunglasses, if you don't have an aviator yet, this Ray-Ban blue mirrored aviators are perfect. I am currently obsessed with blue iridescent mirrored lenses.

Loving my new yellow suede Celine sandals. They are the best shoes all around and I already have them in black. My sister is starting her collection of them too. I paired it with the Phillip Lim floral New York City tank. I am off to the great city this week for work. Can't wait to get into the city even if its such a short trip.

Kenzo x Vans

These babies just dropped and I have been waiting forever. I love the jungle leopard print Kenzo did for their Spring/Summer 13 collection and I was even more excited when I found out they were doing a Vans collection once more with the prints. I bought this color way. There are slip-ons and lace-ups. Head over to the Opening Ceremony site to snag a pair before they're gone.

Hawaii 3-0

Daydreaming of my Hawaii vacation in May. Taking sometime off to soak in some Hawaiian tropics.

I am actually celebrating my birthday there so I have been on a hunt for the perfect birthday outfit and Isabel Marant's Spring Summer 13 collection is kind of perfect. Since it is my big 3-0 so I thought I would just splurge on my fit. I did try a couple of things on at the Isabel Marant store over on Melrose Place the other weekend. I actually want the one shoulder Natacha dress (bottom left corner) so I am waiting for the boutique to get it in stock.

I tried on the Napoli top (get it here or here) and its super adorable. The embroidery and eyelet on the fabric is unique and super special. I tried the top on with the Tundra wrap skirt (get it here) like how it was shown from the runway (bottom right picture). I also tried the Maple strapless dress (get it here). Cute but it reminds me too much of something I had when I was living in Hawaii years ago. The Mick button down shirt (get it here) has a vintage throw back feel of your traditional Hawaiian shirts. I also tried this one on and I love how it was paired with the shorts on the runway. I love the Hawaii and Aloha embroidered on the back (top big picture of back view).

I was also thinking of throwing in a sailor boys cap for good measure and fun. I want the super Hawaiian retro vibe. Just relax and not a care in the world. Cannot wait. In the meantime I have to start on my base tan and crank up the fitness regime.

I wasted no time in whoring out these amazing rings. I was a little late to the hunt for these rings. Most people started calling the stores back in October when they hit the runway. I started calling this past Monday. So let's just say I got very lucky and with the help of some great sales associates at the South Coast and Honolulu boutiques, these babies are mine. I feel a little like Gollum/Smeagol. I kind of just want to stare at them and stroke it and softly whisper, "my precious." Now I see why he was so obsessed with that gold ring. If you are looking for them, call the boutiques around the country, they do sell them individually. I just went for the set, you get more for your buck. I still want a few individual ones of the tube version.

Spring Allowance

Quite obsessed with this 3.1 Phillip Lim tank that I just got. Its probably the only piece that I can afford from the collection after I have spent my entire Spring wardrobe allowance on the Chanel Boy and Dries Van Noten plaid shirt. It arrived in perfect time, the temperature in LA is rising and getting hotter. It will definitely be a staple this season. Since I am a bit tired of my Isabel Marant wedge sneakers at the moment, the Nike Air Max 90s has dictated my Spring sartorial choices lately. I kind of built everything around it and make sure the shoes will go with it. I just did a custom pair with Nike ID. I can't wait to get those.

It was a gorgeous cloudless day in LA today. Took my new Boy out today. I went for a denim Boy rather a leather one. The denim is more durable and scratch free. Plus denim blue is a good basic color that can just got about with anything. I am also wearing my new Sandro slip ons that I got a few weeks ago. Its a great casual Spring shoe. Alternative to my Isabel Marant sneakers that I am kind of getting sick of.

My dinner outfit from last night. Went to try out The Parish in Downtown LA. I was in the mood to throw a little bit of everything on. I was also inspired by Haider Ackermann and his use of herringbone and polka-dots in his recent collections. I discovered this Chanel camisole in my closet the other day. Its actually suppose to be worn with a lace camisole on top, but I love the simplicity of it on its own. I added just a small pop of color with my Prada rose flame shoes.

I rarely have my hair pulled back. I have always liked the part in the middle pulled back look. I have a pretty flat head so I can't pull everything back. I need the part in the middle to make this look work. Kept the make up clean and fresh with the emphasis on the eyes.

Some have asked what kind of skin care I use and I keep it really simple. I used to be one of those freaks about products and applied maybe 3 or 4 things just in the morning as directed by my dermatologist. I now have simplified it to just cleanser, a good exfoliating scrub, 10% glycolic acid cream, face moisturizer, and eye cream. I believe in exfoliation and products that help your skin turnover and produce healthy clean skin.

Products I use: LANCERx exfoliating cleanser - daily day and night, LANCERx blemish polish - 1 to 3x a week, LANCERx 10% glycolic acid cream - daytime, Epicuren Acidophilis probiotic moisturizer - daily day and night, Cle De Peau eye cream.

Simple top zipped pouches are my favorite things at the moment. I am going through a small bag phase. I was all about the big bags for sometime, but now it just feels cumbersome and heavy to lug around all day. I try to keep things minimal and simple now with these small pouch bags. You are only allowed to carry only so much and trust me it makes life so much easier. They are a lot more affordable than full size purses. They are good day to night transition bags too because they easily work as evening bags. If you go for one, make sure its got amazing details as the ones picture above. It becomes an eye catcher or a conversation starter. That's always a good thing right? I have picked a few of my current favorites. If you really want to be the center of attention, I would then get the Alexander Wang glow in the dark pouch (here or here). That for sure will get everyone's attention.

Slippery Slope

Its a slippery slope when it comes to fashion these days. People are quick to fall for trends set by one brand or designer. One clear example are the slip-on shoes. This is classic skater shoe that has been a staple for Vans for decades, however Phoebe Philo for Celine recently created a frenzy with her luxury high end versions. Her creations are covered with exotic materials such as python or pony calf hair and will cost you 8 bills. Now with her blessing, Givenchy, Kenzo, and Sandro has all jumped on this slip on train. The market is now full of options that ranges from prints, texture, materials, and of course the classic checkered Vans remain a pure classic. I recently purchased the Sandro suede slip on in beige and it has silver studs around the heel in the back. Super cool and clean. You can see it in the Spring/Summer 13 lookbook (see here).

Weather in Seattle was cold and wet. I am so glad to be back home in LA where the weather is always perfect. This was the fit from my first day there. Had a little time to walk around and visit Pike Place Market. I've been to Seattle so many times but never had the time to see the market. So glad I brought my hat with me. It kept my head dry from the rain.

Outfit from Saturday. Spent most of the day running errands and shopping with my sister. The boots weren't the most practical shoes to wear to go shopping in so I changed into my trusty Converse chucks. I sometimes forget about things in my closet and as I rediscovered this jacket the night before and I wanted to wear it out again. Its actually one of my favorite pieces that I acquired in the Fall.

I just got these great Sandro track striped trousers. I have been eyeing them for quite some time. They have been on sale and I finally got them over the weekend. Its super comfy. I also got this stripped H&M shirt over the weekend. They have some great stuff at the moment. I love the fabric of this shirt. Its super soft. I was going for a pajama slash sporty look with this fit. I just wanted to be comfortable. It was Sunday after all.

Catching up on some posts. Its been a busy weekend. Like to end the weekend with this outfit post from dinner on Friday night. The look was inspired by Emmanuel Alt. I love how she belts her oversize jackets and coats. Its beyond chic. I just got these fuchsia colored trousers from Zara and wore this over sized Mango blazer over it. I tried out the belted look, but I think I will just let Alt do her thing in the future.

Quick outfit post from last night. Spontaneous basketball game last night. My sister is in town and we both wanted to watch a game. I wanted to be comfortable and this fit was the perfect half way between comfy and dressy. Still love this Mary Katrantzou jumper. Worth every penny.
