Both Justices Breyer and Ginsburg have nodded to the use of foreign court jurisprudence in the Supreme Court’s decision making in US cases over the years. This is certainly a plus to put in the column of students who have experience with international and comparative law studies under their belt. Being able to research and understand foreign decisions, and use them to your advantage as a zealous advocate is one way that might help sway a court to rule in your client’s favor.
