My First Time Market Sale 人生第一次市集賣會

After I opened my shop at Etsy, I was stumbled upon a chance to participate in an open market sale. At first, I was hesitated to join, as worried that my products have no market, worried that I might not have what it takes to become a real seller, worried that I can't come up with enough numbers of product to be sold. However, after discuss with hubby and think it through again, I think I should give it a try if I would like to make my hobby into a real business. (Besides, there is an early participate discount too for the fee! ^_^)

自從在Etsy開了我的網路商店後，偶然的遇上了一個參加開放市場的機會。起初，我猶豫是否該參加，因為擔心我的產品沒有市場，也擔心我並沒有條件成為真正的賣主，同時也擔心不可能在預期內完成足夠的成品。然而，在與老公談論并且再反覆思考後，我覺得若想要把我的嗜好變成一個生意, 就應該要試一試。(此外，提早參與還有優惠價呢! ^_^)

So finally, I decided to join this Minikins Market which was held in San Jose on Sep 30.

結果, 我就決定參與9月30日在San Jose舉行的Minikins Market了。

From the day I registered till the actual day, there was a 2 months period for me for preparation. Originally my target was to crochet 60 amigurumis, which means one a day, but then found that it was kind of mission impossible for me, as I'm not a fast crocheter, and, to design, it took some time too. So at the end, I was managed to complete a total of 39 amigurumis for my market sale. (And it could be more if not due to the pain on my wrist and fingers after days after days of full-time crochet. Salute to those who can do it everyday!)

從報名到真正的那天, 總共有兩個月的時間給我做準備。本來我的目標是鉤出60只鉤織娃娃的, 那表示一天做出一個, 可是後來發覺這對我是太天方夜譚了, 因為我的動作不快, 加上要設計也需要時間。結果到最後, 我成功鉤了39只娃娃。(如果不是因為連日連夜的鉤織導致手腕和手指疼痛, 應該可以更多的。在此非常敬佩那些可以每天不停手的高人!)

Finally, the day has come!
The market was held in a hall, with around 50 (I guess) sellers, some were like me selling own product, while some were selling pre-loved items.

終於, 那一天到來了!
這一次的開放市場在一個大廳內舉辦, 大約有50個賣主參與(我猜啦), 有些就像我這樣有自己的產品, 有些則是販賣二手貨.

Since I'm a first-timer, I didn't really know how to decorate my table, and really not good in making sales, haha~
Luckily with the help of my outgoing hubby, able to improve a bit, and finally, I've sold out 9 amigurumis, although only a fraction of my total, but able to get some good feedback from the customers that my amigurumis are cute, so for that, it was a great success!

由於我是第一次參與, 所以並不太懂得裝飾我的檔口, 而且也不太會銷售, 哈哈~
還有有我那外向的老公幫忙, 總算進步一點點, 而最後成功賣出9只娃娃, 雖然只是總數的一小部分, 但是由於得到滿好的回響, 說我的娃娃很可愛, 所以就此來說, 已經是大大成功了!

Although it was kind of fun for joining this kind of open market, but I don't think I'll do it frequently as it was really a hard-work task for my hands, not worth it if it hurts them and cost me a big medical bill, haha~

雖然參與這類型的市集還滿好玩的, 可是我想我應該不會常常參加, 因為這對我的雙手是一份苦差啊, 我可不想因此而弄傷它們而花上大筆醫藥費呢, 哈哈~

Grand opening of my Etsy shop: amilovers ~ 新張營業!

After the encouragement from friends and family on the crafts that I've made, finally I've set up and opened my first ever online shop through Etsy - amilovers, selling the toys/dolls (amigurumi) I've crocheted stitch by stitch by myself!

I'm so excited about it and hopes to see some customer flows coming in soon, wish me luck!

經過一直以來朋友和家人對於我的手作的鼓勵與支持, 我終於通過Etsy開始了我人生第一間的網路商店 - amilovers, 賣出由我親手一針一目縫製的娃娃!

對此心裡非常興奮, 也希望不久的日子裡就可以看到源源不絕的客戶(哈, 好貪心喔!), 祝我成功吧!

Amigurumi Piggy Memo Clip 豬豬便條夾鉤織娃娃

From the crochet book on Teddy Bear, there is a pattern on a lying dog memo clip which I've always wanna to try, but I have not able to get the suitable clip to be used, so in turn I substitute with a smaller hair clip, and modified the design from doggie to piggie, which will be less complicate, just to try out how things turn out if using a smaller clip.

在<就愛新歡泰迪熊Teddy>裡, 有一款趴趴狗便條夾的鉤織圖是我一直想嘗試的, 可是一直沒找到合適的夾子, 於是我就用較小的髮夾替代, 然後更改了設計, 从趴趴狗改成比較簡單鉤織的趴趴豬, 想說先試試看用小夾子的效果.

The crochet part of this memo clip was easy, the hardest part would be attaching the clip to the mouth of the piggy. Since the clip is small so I have to tie it at the center part so it won't shifted, but the length of it was much longer than the mouth, so half of the clip has to be stuffed into the head part. And this clip has a narrow surface, not like the wide surface of the clip used in the original design, so after the clip has been installed into the head, it was not able to press open the clip, however, it is still able to slip any name card or memo pieces into the mouth without falling out.

這個便條夾的鉤織部分蠻簡單, 艱難的是把夾子系在嘴巴的部分. 由於夾子蠻小, 所以必須把它綁在中間以防移位, 可是它的長度卻超出嘴巴的部分, 只好把長出的夾子藏身於頭部. 同時由於這是個窄夾子, 不像原本設計中使用的寬面夾子, 所以當安裝好在頭部裡面後, 並沒有辦法把它按開, 可是, 還是可以輕易的把名片或便條紙塞進嘴巴而不掉落.

Although this is not consider a successful attempt, the big piggy head and nose are still adorable.

雖然這不算是個很成功的嘗試, 可是它那個豬大頭豬大鼻卻還是滿可愛嘀.

I've given away this piggy as a gift to my friend in Taiwan, together with her mate - the Bee Piggy. I believe the new owner will treat them very well!

Amigurumi Mini Shiba 迷你日本柴犬鉤織娃娃

Before I knew how to crochet, I've once bought a mini crocheted doggie from a street fair, only about an inch tall, super cute and amazed by the skill to make such an adorable craft. After I started my amigurumi journey, I'm not sure why but I've never come across any doggie design. So that day when I was searching for crochet books, this one with lots of cute doggie design finally reached me.

在我還沒有懂得鉤織之前, 我曾經在一個市集裡買過一隻迷你鉤織狗狗, 只有大約一寸高, 非常可愛, 同時也非常驚訝於能夠做出如此精緻手藝的技術. 當我開始了我的鉤織娃娃旅程後, 不知為何從來沒有遇上過任何狗狗的鉤織圖. 直到那天在找尋鉤織書時, 終於碰上了這本充滿著各式各樣可愛狗狗的書本 - <鉤針狗狗的每一天>.

After finished reading the book, then only I found that actually it is not as hard as I thought to crochet a mini dog. There is a basic model for all the doggies, but slight changes in here and there for different breed. The book also introduced three poses, the stand pose, the sit pose and the lie pose, and among them, I love the sit pose most.

看完了整本書, 我才發現原來要鉤織迷你狗狗並不如我想像中的難. 全部的狗狗都有一個基本的造型, 不過不同的品種就有些微的變化. 書中還提供了三種姿勢, 站姿, 坐姿和趴姿, 而其中我最喜歡的就是坐姿.

Although there is a lot of design available, the one I've chosen was the Shiba, and this was also the only pattern with detail step to step. Since I'm using the common worsted weight yarn with a bigger hook, and not the fingering yarn, so the size of doggie I've made was much bigger than the mini dog I've bought, around 3" tall, though it is still a handsome doggie.

雖然書中有許多的款式, 我選擇了日本柴犬, 而這個也是唯一一個有詳細步驟的款式. 由於我使用了一般粗的毛線配上大號鉤針, 而不是細毛線, 所以我的鉤織狗狗比購買的那隻大許多, 大概有3寸高, 可卻依然英姿非凡呢.

Amigurumi Patchy Piggies 拼布豬鉤織娃娃

After completed a few Palmie Bear couples, wanna to change the mood, so just grab a crochet book from the bookshelf and wanna to make something quick and yet, must be cute too.

完成了幾對掌心熊系列娃娃後, 想要轉換心情, 於是隨手拎起書架上的一本鉤織書<愛不釋手的毛線娃娃>, 想要做一個即快, 但又必須可愛的作品.

After flipping through the pages, instantly attracted to the little boar amigurumi, as I've always wanna to make a piggy doll but always distracted by other doll designs, and then modification to them, so finally this time I must make up my mind to do it.

翻了翻內頁, 就看上了可愛的山豬娃娃, 主要也是很久以前就想要做個豬娃娃, 可是一直被其他娃娃造型吸引, 還有延續的款式變化, 所以這一次無論如何也要動手了.

I followed the basic model as per the book, but skipped the sharp teeth, and replaced the round toy eyes with smiley eyes sewn with yarn, then made the curly cute tail, finally added crocheted patches on the plain body, so my first ever Patchy Piggy was completed.

基本造型和書上一樣, 可是我免去了山豬的尖牙, 把原本圓圓眼珠子換成毛線縫上的咪咪笑眼, 把尾巴做成可愛的卷卷狀, 最後在略顯單調的身體縫上也是毛線鉤織的拼布, 就完成了我第一隻的拼布豬.

Wonder whether due to the couples amigurumi that I've made recently, after the first piggy, can't wait to make another one to accompany it.
And so, by using the same colors of yarns but different combination, the second Patchy Piggy was born.

不知道是不是做多了情侶娃娃, 完成了第一隻豬豬後, 就立刻想要做另一隻來陪伴它.
於是, 就運用了同色毛線組但不同的配搭, 第二隻拼布豬娃娃也誕生了.

The fat and round piggies, even hubby said they are cute~

Amigurumi Sailor Palmie Bear Couple 水手服情侶掌心熊鉤織娃娃

Just like I promised, another Palmie Bear couple were born~
This time, they are dress in the cute sailor costume, and go sailing...

就如之前期待的, 又一對掌心熊娃娃誕生囉~
這一次, 它們穿上可愛的水手服, 出海航船去嚕...

For the sailor costume, the hardest part was to crochet the front part of the collar, and the result from my limited skill, it looks ok from far, but a bit rough if observed from near....

這一次的水手服, 最難的地方就是鉤織那片衣領的前半部, 從我有限的技術做出來的結果, 遠看可以, 近看則有點粗糙啦....

But who cares, they are still a lovely cute couple!

不過管他呢, 它們依然是一對可愛小情侶呀!

Continue to unleash my creativity, and also with the past experiences on the little amigurumi dolls I've made, this time I've created a couple partner - the Beach Wear Palmie Bear Couple!~
Why names as Palmie? That's because they are only palm-sized big~

繼續發揮創意, 以及累計以往那些小型鉤織娃娃的經驗, 這一次創造出了一對情侶搭檔 - 沙灘裝情侶掌心熊!~
為何名為掌心熊? 那是因為它們只有掌心般大小而已哦~

JJ often asked why is that my amigurumi's arms and legs were so long, so this time I slightly changed the style, gave them a pair of short and fatty arms and legs, topped with a big head, kawaii ne~

以前JJ常說我的娃娃怎麼都那麼手長腳長的, 所以這一次稍改作風, 給了它們一雙短短胖胖的手腳, 配合大大的腦袋, 卡哇伊呢~

For the guy version, beside a simple swimming trunks, also crocheted a life preserver as his accessories;
For the girl version, the cutest would be the little piece of bikini, and the blush on the face, how could anyone move his/her sight from this lovely bear?

男生版的, 除了那簡單的泳褲, 還給它織了個救生圈當配飾;
女生版的, 最可愛的莫過於那小小件的比基尼泳裝了, 還有那臉上腮紅, 讓人怎麼舍得把視線拿開呢?

Amigurumi Sweetheart Pink Bear 甜心粉紅熊鉤織娃娃

After two successful attempts of crocheting cute bear dolls, I have now more confidence in creating more of them.

經過兩次成功鉤織出可愛的玩具熊, 現在的我更加有信心去做更多的熊熊了.

This time, I've chosen the same yarn as Baby Bear Paton Divine, but the color is Chantilly Rose, a light pink color.
The mouth of my last two bears was crocheted with normal worsted weight yarn, but this time, I used the same yarn as the body, and changed the yarn for palm and feet into the same as for Snuggly Polar Bear, so the whole teddy is just a furry little fellow, so adorable!

這一次的熊熊, 我選用了和熊寶寶同樣的毛線總類Paton Divine, 但是顏色則是淡淡的粉紅色.
上兩次的泰迪熊的嘴巴都是用普通毛線鉤織的, 而這一次的, 我就使用和身體同樣的毛毛線, 而手掌和腳掌則使用軟軟北極熊同樣的毛線, 所以整隻熊熊都是毛茸茸的, 可愛極了!

Besides, I've added a little detail for it, stitched a bright pink love on its right foot, and also a tiny belly button, create some personality out of ordinary, haha~

除此, 我還使了一點小心機, 在右腳掌上繡了個鮮粉紅愛心, 還給了它一個小肚臍眼, 讓它在平淡中增添一點個人特色, 哈~

Amigurumi Snuggly Polar bear 軟軟北極熊鉤織娃娃

Last time when I bought the yarn for Baby Bear, I also bought a big ball of Bernat Pipsqueak which was on sell in Jo-Ann, very comfortable and soft white yarn, the weak point of this yarn is the fur kind of easy to pull off, and due to its texture, it is very hard to identify each stitch for crochet, so I just did it by instinct.

上次買毛線做泰迪熊寶寶時, 就同時買了一卷Jo-Ann在特價中的Bernat Pipsqueak毛線, 非常舒服又柔軟的白色毛毛線, 可是缺點就是毛毛比較容易脫, 而且也由於它的毛毛, 鉤織時很難看見針目, 只好憑感覺鉤.

This Snuggly Polar Bear also took me three days to finish, and the difference between this and Baby Bear, were the shape of the mouth piece and the length of the doll, and the hard part was to sew the nose.

這隻軟軟北極熊同樣也是花了我三天的時間完成, 和熊寳寳不一樣的是嘴型和娃娃長度, 還有比較難的是用毛線繡上鼻子的部分.

Since I used a different color of yarns, mine is totally different kind of bear than the Coffee Teddy Bear introduced in the book, I transformed it into a Polar Bear ^_^ I've added some length to its arms and legs, and widen its waist a bit, since I felt the original was a little too thin.

因為毛線顏色的差別, 我的這一隻和<就愛新歡泰迪熊Teddy>裡面所教的咖啡毛毛熊就完全不一樣總類了, 它的熊熊被我變成北極熊了, 哈~ 而且我也加長了它的手腳長度, 身體的寬度也給我稍微增肥了, 因為覺得原本的似乎太瘦了點.

The teddy in the book was having a scarf, so I've made one especially for my Polar Bear too. I've chosen bright pink and blue, looks very striking when wear around its white fur!

書上的毛毛熊有一條圍巾, 所以我也給我的北極熊量身訂做了一條. 選擇鮮豔的粉紅和藍, 圍在白色的毛毛上, 很出色呢!

Took a few photos for both Baby Bear and Snuggly Polar Bear together, and they seem to have a very close brotherhood feeling, don't you think so?

為熊寶寶和軟軟北極熊一起拍了幾張相片, 它們看上去就像感情很要好的哥兒們呢, 你們覺得呢?

Amigurumi Baby Bear 熊寶寶鉤織娃娃

Few days ago I finally received the crochet books I've ordered through a Taiwanese online store 'Books.Com.Tw', and one of those that I'm really looking forward, is this book on crocheting teddy bears (no English version available), those teddy bears shown in the book look so cute, and all are just make by crochet, the patterns also look understandable, so the next day I received the book, I started making one.

前幾天剛收到從台灣博客來訂購的鉤織書本, 其中讓我最期待的, 就是這本<就愛新歡泰迪熊Teddy>, 裡面的熊熊看起來都很可愛, 而且都只是用鉤針就能夠做出來的, 鉤織圖樣看上去也沒有很難, 書到後的第二天, 就立即動手開工了.

Since I've never had any attempt in making a teddy, so I wanna to first try a basic teddy model, the one I selected was featured on the cover of the book, the Little White Teddy.

想說沒有嘗試過織泰迪熊, 所以就選擇了比較基本款的熊熊開始, 被選上的就是封面上的白色皮皮熊~

The book was published in Taiwan, and I was not sure about the yarn specified in the book, so I selected the Patons Divine, a soft mohair look yarn in Soft Earth color, and did not checked the gauge, I was thinking that the worst of it will only affect the size of the teddy, which turned out to be a little mistake here, I'm not sure whether is the yarn caused the height seemed shorten or the width seemed widen, my teddy's head seems not as round as the one shown in the book, and the body also seems smaller, but luckily, the final look of the teddy bear is still adorable~

由於該書是台灣出版, 所以書上註明的毛線總類我不太清楚, 所以我就自己選擇了Patons Divine, 大地色的毛毛線, 也沒有去檢查標準尺寸, 想說頂多只是娃娃大小的差異而已, 結果果然有影響. 不知道是高度縮短了還是寬度加長了, 我的泰迪熊的頭部似乎沒有書本上的圓, 身體也比原版的小. 不過還好的是, 做出來的成品還是很可愛嘀~

The furry and yet thin body, is so comfortable to hug, and it looks just as lovable as a little baby~

熊熊毛毛卻嬌小的身體, 抱起來很舒服呢, 看上去就如小小貝比那般惹人疼愛, 哈~

Amigurumi Amineko Cat 貓貓鉤織娃娃

Recently I was searching online for some crocheting books which teaches the pattern on cute amigurumi, I mean really cute one, so I came across this book <Hello My Name is Amineko: The Story of a Crafty Crochet Cat>, which this interesting kitty has so many expressions and body language. However, since there is only one pattern of kitty, and the price of the book is not cheap, so I just let it go. But who knows by accident, I found out that there is free pattern available online for this kitty (**copyrights are reserved by Nekoyama**), so happily I've made one Amineko for myself~

最近在網上想要找尋一些專門教導製作可愛鉤織娃娃的書本, 我是想找真的真的很可愛的那種, 結果找到這本<養一隻編織貓>, 裡面的那隻有趣貓咪真是多表情和肢體語言啊. 可是由於只有一種貓咪的圖樣, 而且書本價錢不算便宜, 所以就略過了. 誰知無意中卻讓我在網上找到這個貓咪的免費圖樣(**版權屬於Nekoyama**), 當然就很開心的做了一隻給自己.

The steps aren't difficult, but I'm not sure why the Amineko that I've made, looks more alike to Pink Panther (but only mine in gray instead of pink), although I followed exactly the same steps, I guess maybe sometimes the stuffing and placing of each parts will contribute to the "make-over".

製作的步驟並不難, 可是我不了解為甚麼我的編織貓, 卻看起來像是粉紅豹(只是我的是灰色而不是粉紅色), 雖然我完全根據一樣的步驟, 我猜或許有時填充棉花和縫合各個部位時也會帶來"改造"吧.

That day I was flipping through my stack of books on knitting and crocheting, and found this book <So Sweet>, immediately attracted by the cute and colorful dessert on the cover, wonder why I did not make anything from the book after I've got it for so long, and so my craving for crocheting amigurumi started again, and I believe such a small dessert will not take me a long time to finish one.

那天翻動我那堆棒針鉤針的書本, 看到這本<鉤織甜點>, 就被封面上可愛彩色的俏皮甜點所吸引, 還蠻奇怪為何買了那麼久卻還沒動手做個書內的作品, 於是鉤織毛線娃娃的癮又開始犯上, 小小一個點心, 相信不一會兒就可以完成一個的.

The project that attracted me, was different kind of fruit tarts.
The first one I've made was peach tart, layered with white and yellow peach slices, topped with two tiny mint leaves. Since the yarn colors I've used were not striking enough, and made it feel so tasteless, so I added a little raspberry between the mint leaves. Now it looks lovely~

被我看上的, 是各種各樣的水果塔.
第一個動手做了桃子塔, 塔面鋪上白桃和黃桃片, 中間兩片小小薄荷葉. 由於我使用的毛線顏色沒有很出色, 所以覺得有點黯淡無味, 於是就在薄荷葉上加了顆小小覆盆子. 現在看起來就可愛啦~

The second one was the bright red color strawberry tart, of course layered with multiple strawberry, and a tiny mint leaves for decoration. This is my favorite amigurumi tart~

第二個製作的是鮮紅色的草莓塔, 當然就鋪上數顆草莓, 和小小薄荷葉點綴.這是我最喜歡的毛線塔~

The following two were combination of my own design with the existing pattern in the book, the green tea cream tart and tangy lemon tart.
The green tea cream tart was topped with a big strawberry on vanilla mousse, and mint leaves decoration, on the macha flavor cream.
The tangy lemon tart was topped with two slices of oranges with side of vanilla mousse and mint leaves.

接下來的兩個是結合我個人的創意和書上的圖樣, 創造出來的綠茶奶油塔和酸甜檸檬塔.
綠茶奶油塔擺著一顆大草莓於香草克林姆上, 以薄荷葉裝飾, 鋪在抹茶口味的奶油上.
酸甜檸檬塔呢則擺上兩片柳丁片, 同樣以香草克林姆和薄荷葉裝飾.

While flipping through the <Amigurumi Knits> while catching up a drama series on yesterday boring afternoon, decided to knit an amigurumi tomato.

這顆假番茄步驟很簡單, 不一會兒就完成了. 接著給我塞得滿滿後, 一顆又大又香甜的毛線番茄就完成了, 你想吃嗎?

Amigurumi Garden Snail 田園毛線蝸牛

最近在圖書館借了一本毛線娃娃的圖樣本 <Amigurumi Knits>.
對我來說這一種毛線娃娃和我以往的不一樣, 因為是用棒針織出來的, 而不是鉤針鉤的, 所以是一個新嘗試.

Recently I borrowed a pattern book on amigurumi from the library, <Amigurumi Knits>.
For me, this type of amigurumi is different from the previous one I've made, as this was made by using knitting needles, instead of crochet hook, so it's a new thing to me.

這本書上介紹的圖樣都好生動, 幾乎可以以假亂真, 但是對於新手的我, 當然只是嘗試一些比較簡單的款式了. 第一個看上的款式, 就是這個田園蝸牛了.

The patterns introduced in this book looks so real, even can trick with the real thing, but for a newbie like me, of course will start with something simpler. The first pattern I'm attracted to, was this garden snail.

根據圖樣指示, 貝殼的毛線顏色主要為藍色系列, 而肉身則為橘色. 而我則在我的毛線堆裡, 湊出可以配搭的顏色, 就動工了.

According to the pattern, the color for the shell supposed to be blue series, while the mantle in orange. But for me, I just pull out the colors from my stack of yarns, and start knitting.

我個人覺得它的步驟不難, 但是照片不多, 因為有一些地方如果有照片提示會更容易了解的, 而我在這些地方就只好自己猜測, 還好沒有猜錯, 不然就得拆掉重來.

I personally think that the steps aren't that hard to follow, but lack of photos, as there are some steps that could be helpful if a photo is provided, so whenever I'm at those steps I've to guess, and luckily my guesses are right, if not I'll have to start over again.

可能是我貪心, 我都喜歡把內餡塞滿滿的, 結果我的蝸牛身體胖鼓鼓的, 害我在想若把它弄道法式田螺應該非常多肉. =P

Maybe I'm a bit greedy, as I like to stuff the amigurumi very full, ended up my snail's mantle quite round and fat, make me think that if it was to cook as a French dish escargot, it sure will be quite filling. =P

Blissful Color Top 彩虹背心

看上了Lion Brand網頁上的一個圖樣 - Blissful Blue Top, 照片上模特兒穿上真是好看, 雖然我知道我穿上一定沒有千萬分之一好看, 但是覺得套上一件小外套配搭應該不錯的, 所以就決定動手了.

Found a pattern from the Lion Brand's website - Blissful Blue Top, this top looks nice on the model in the photo, although I believe if I wear it, it won't be even close to the beauty of that, but it should be not bad if pair with a cardigan, so I decided to make it.

我沒有使用圖樣指示的毛線, 而換成了之前網上折扣買來的Amazing毛線, 而這種毛線比較細, 所以我自己稍微調整了行數和針目, 也加長了長度, 結果也只用了3卷毛線.

I didn't use the yarn stated in the pattern, instead, I used the Amazing yarn which I bought some time ago online with a discount, this type of yarn is a little thinner, so I have to slightly adjusted the row and stitch numbers, and added some length to it, anyhow, I ended up using only 3 balls of yarn.

由於我沒有百分百專注看圖樣, 所以在前面蕾絲圖樣那塊, 出了小小錯誤, 而且還是我完成了左半片後才發覺, 不過還好不影響整體感. 我的錯誤在於應該每4行才做一次的邊緣麻花圖樣, 我卻每兩行就重複了, 既然錯了一半, 就得把另一半也錯下去了, 哈~

Since I didn't pay full attention to the pattern, so I made a mistake on the lace pattern part of the front, and I found that out only after I finished the left front piece, but luckily it did not affect the overall view of it. The mistake I made was at the cable pattern on the edge, it supposed to be repeated every 4th row, but I did it every 2 rows, and since I've completed half, so I've to continue the mistake for the other half, haha~

我這件彩色的和原版的單色的感覺很不一樣吧~

Mine with colors looks totally different from the plain color of the original, right?

Amigurumi Sackboy 小小大星球鉤織娃娃

Although I'm not a fans of gaming, but the look of this little fellow - Sackboy, is just too cute to be ignored.

During the process, I found some confusing part on the eyes and also the stitches count, and thank you so much for Nerdigurumi to answer my question which able to help me to complete it.

過程中, 我對於眼睛部位還有針數計算有點混淆, 但是多謝Nerdigurumi的回覆才讓我能夠成功完成.

For me, the hardest part was to sew on the zipper part, I've tried few times and finally had to accept the best out of the worst.

對我來說, 最難的就是縫上拉鍊的樣子, 嘗試了幾次, 最後只好接受最差中的最好作為結果了.

Amigurumi Bunny Latte 拿鐵小兔鉤織娃娃

終於, 我創始了我的第一隻鉤織娃娃圖樣, 拿鐵小兔好開心, 好滿足~
以我的能力, 這已經是很大的進步了!

Finally, I've created my first ever amigurumi pattern, the Bunny Latte, I felt so happy and satisfy~
With my ability, this is consider a big improvement for me!

原本我的構思, 是想做一隻咖啡綿羊, 可是完成頭部和身體後, 覺得它更適合成為兔寶寶, 況且我也沒有鉤織過兔子, 就來一次嘗試吧.

My original idea was to make a coffee color sheep, but after I finish the head and body, I found it more suitable to be a little bunny, and since I've never made a bunny before, so decided to give it a try.

我以往的鉤織娃娃幾乎都是手腳瘦瘦的, 這一次的拿鐵小兔我就想要和愛睡綿羊寶寶類似的胖胖的手腳, 當然這個小兔的腳就比較長, 但是要有大腳板 (其實我還覺得我的這個腳板不夠大, 或許下次再改良).

Almost all my previous amigurumi having slim arms and legs, so for this Bunny Latte, I wanna something more plumpy, similar to the one in Sleepy Baby Sheep, of course this bunny's legs going to be longer, but with big feet (I think mine is still not big enough, maybe will make another better version next time).

一般的兔耳朵都是耳背一色, 耳洞就另一個淡色, 但是在我亂嘗試, 加上比較簡單的做法, 我覺得我這個段色耳朵還蠻特色的, 哈~

Normally, the bunny ears will have one color as the back, while another lighter color as the ear hole, but after I simply try, and also easier method, I think my block-color ear looks quite unique, haha~

我很高興我在網上買到了這個娃娃鼻子(還沒在店內看到過), 配上去比起縫上去好看多了.

I'm glad that I've bought the safety nose online (haven't seen any in store), it looks much better than sew-on.

當全部部位組合起來後, 我愛死了這隻拿鐵小兔了!
為甚麼叫拿鐵? 簡單嘛, 就因為它的咖啡和奶色毛線啊, 不就是拿鐵的原色嗎~

After assembly everything, I just love this Bunny Latte so much!
Why it is called Latte? Simple, just because of the coffee and cream color yarns, isn't that the original colors to create Latte~

Cozy Cabled Hat 麻花暖暖帽

蠻久沒有織帽子了, 那天去Michaels剛好有特價, 所以買了卷Loops & Threads 的Cozy Wool毛線, 厚厚的毛線, 一卷剛好夠織一頂包裝上提供的款式的帽子.

It's been quite some time I haven't knitted a hat, and so since that day I went to Michaels which was having sales, I've bought a ball of Loops & Threads' Cozy Wool, super bulky weight yarn, one ball enough to make a cozy cabled hat which the pattern was provided on the packaging.

這個帽子的圖樣不太難, 只要懂得ribbing和cable knitting就可以做到. 只不過由於這個毛線粗的關係, 害我織cable織到我手指疼, 還好粗毛線的作品可以很快完成, 所以就算慢慢織, 一天就可以搞定了.
(可惜我在網上找不到這個圖樣分享, 不然一定貼上網址給有興趣的朋友)

The pattern of the hat was not difficult, as long as you know ribbing and cable knitting. However, due to the thickness of the yarn, it caused me quite some pain on my fingers while doing the cable, luckily thick yarn means quick project, even knit it slowly, one day is enough to finish it.
(Too bad I can't find the pattern online, or else I'll sure paste the link here to share out)

Entrelac Tote 交錯款式手提包

許久前決定買這本<Entrelac: The Essential Guide to Interlace Knitting>, 因為很喜歡裡面圖片顯示的作品, 還有教學步驟, 覺得不太難, 值得一試.

I've decided to buy this book some while ago <Entrelac: The Essential Guide to Interlace Knitting>, as I love the pictures of the product it shown, and included the steps which I think is not so complicated, so definitely worth a try.

我並沒有製做書內提供的圖樣, 反而想說先掌握好這個交錯編織的技巧, 所以就打算做一個手提包, 簡單的兩片縫合即可.

I did tried any of the patterns in the book, instead I want to grasp the skill of entrelac knitting first, so I decided to make a tote, which simply sew two finished pieces together will do.

這個手提包我打算送給我媽, 所以選擇的毛線顏色不需要太花俏, 最後決定使用上次編織給老公那件毛衣剩下的灰色毛線, 和米色毛線交錯, 感覺應該蠻時尚吧~

I plan to make this tote for my mum, so the color choice of the yarn need not to be fancy, finally I decided to use the leftover grey yarns from my previous pullover project for my hubby, and mix with the cream color yarn, I think it should look quite stylish~

根據書中的一開始提供的教學, 驚訝的發現真的蠻簡單, 而且很快編織完一行的方塊. 第一次看到這種款式時, 還以為是需要把編織好條狀毛線, 再用編織籃子的方式完成, 原來不是!

According to the steps provided in the beginning of the book, found it surprisingly easy and fast to complete a row of squares. The first time I saw this pattern, I thought it needs to basket-weaved each stripes in order to complete, definitely not!

當我完成了第9行方塊時, 覺得高度已經差不多了, 結果才發現書中的結尾都是單數的, 也就是說教學裡面展示的只是第1排開端的三角形(右至左), 第2至第4中段, 最後第5排結束(右至左), 但是我已經完成單數第9排了, 所以只能自己想出第10行結束(左至右)的編織方法. 還好經過數次嘗試終於成功了, 雖然不確定對否, 但是由於待會還會加上個邊緣, 所以看上去是沒問題的.

After I finished Row 9's square and found it reached my desired height, but unfortunately to find that the ending row in the book was all odd number, which means in the steps shown Row 1's starting triangles (from right to left), Row 2 to Row 4 the middle part, and bind-off at Row 5 of triangles (right to left), but since I've completed Row 9, so I need to find my own way to bind-off Row 10 of triangles (from left to right). Luckily after a few attempt, I found my way, although not sure whether it is correct or not, but since I'll be adding an edge to it, so it should look ok.

完成交錯編織款式, 我就在結束那行挑針繼續下針編織一行. 接下來左右兩側我使用鬆緊編, 中段使用普通的下針編, 期間邊編織邊套上手把, 高度直到可以對折, 方便最後縫內袋時可以把邊緣藏起來.

After completed the entrelac pattern, I pick-up stitches at the bind-off row and knit a row, then continue with ribbing at both sides, while plain knitting in the middle, meanwhile adding in the handle, until the height enough to fold half, where will be used to hide the edges of the inner lining cloth.

同樣的步驟重複一篇, 然後就可以把兩片放在一起, 縫合左右和下方. 最後在手把下方扣上磁鐵按鈕, 手提包的基本樣子就完成了.

Repeat the steps one more time, then put the two pieces together, and sew both the left and right edges, and the bottom edge with mattress stitch. Finally, buckle the magnet buttons under the handle, and now the basic pattern of the tote is done.

根據包包的大小剪裁內袋的大小, 縫和適當的邊緣, 然後植入手提包中, 利用對折的包包邊緣把內袋縫上. 搞定手工, yeah~

According to the size of the tote, cut out the required size for the inner lining cloth, sewed the appropriate sides and put into the tote, sewed the inner lining cloth to the tote at the folded edge. Tada, it is all done, yeah~

**手把的位置和磁鐵按鈕的功效並不如我預期, 會想辦法修改.
**The handle and magnet buttons parts were not as I expected, will think of a way to fix it.

這個手提包看上去, 還不賴吧~

Amigurumi Mini Giraffe 小小長頸鹿鉤織娃娃

除了愛睡綿羊寶寶, 我收藏已久的另一鉤織娃娃圖樣就是這個小小長頸鹿了. 之前尋找長頸鹿鉤織圖樣時就已經找到這個網頁, 只是當下更喜歡K4TT的長頸鹿抱枕娃娃, 所以就把這個先擱一旁, 直到最近有空才開工.

Besides the Sleepy Baby Sheep, I've collected this Mini Giraffe crochet pattern for long. Found this when previously searching for the giraffe crochet pattern, but at that time was more attracted to K4TT's Pillow Pal Giraffe, so had to put aside this one, until recently I found the time to make it.

這個圖樣自稱為幾乎一件式, 是由於從頭到其中一腳, 都是連續性的鉤下去, 然後另外三隻腳駁線接上去, 隨後把鼻頭, 耳朵和觸角縫上, 最後加上眼睛和鼻孔完成.

This pattern named as almost one piece, because start from the head to one of the leg, it was crocheted continuously, and the other three legs were done by attaching new yarn to the body, then sewed the nose, ears and horns, finally added the eyes and nostrils to complete.

原版圖樣還注明只是鉤織back loop, 我卻忘了, 不過還好出來沒有很怪的樣子.
而原作者說她是左撇子, 所以鉤織方向會不一樣, 我卻沒有注意到這點, 我這個右撇子竟然可以完全根據她的步驟完成, 哈~
不過這圖樣有一個明顯的不同, 就是鉤織的標號, 都是使用英式名詞, 而不是一般的美式名詞, 還好這網頁上還有提供轉換表方便查找.

The original pattern mentioned to crochet into back loop only, but I forgot, luckily the outcome was not weird looking.
Besides, the pattern owner stated that she is a lefty, so the crochet direction was different, but I didn't notice that, so I still follow her instruction even though I'm right handed, haha~
However, the obvious different in this pattern, was the crochet terms, it used English terms instead of American terms, but luckily the conversion chat was provided in the website too for user convenient.

我的這隻小小長頸鹿使用的顏色和原版不一樣, 所以感覺也有點不同. 而由於我的版本身體是單色, 所以我還鉤了幾個斑點圈圈給它.
這一次終於是一隻名副其實的"長頸"鹿了(之前長頸鹿抱枕娃娃就常被問為甚麼脖子那麼短), 可是卻有著四條胖嘟嘟的腿. 不過, 好可愛哦!

My mini giraffe is having a different color as compare to the original, so the feel is a bit different. And since my version is having single color on the body, so I added some spots for it.
Finally, this time is a real "long neck" giraffe (I was frequently being asked on why the neck was so short for my Pillow Pal Giraffe), but with four short and fatty legs. Anyway, it is so cute!

完成了老公的聖誕禮物, 終於有時間可以動手做我久違的鉤織娃娃了.

After completing my Christmas present for hubby, finally I have time to make the amigurumi that I've put aside for quite a while.

這個綿羊寶寶的鉤織圖樣其實已經在我的存檔蠻久了, 可是因為之前一直有許多想要先弄的作品, 所以現在終於可以把它挖出來了.

I've had this baby sheep crochet pattern for a long time, but before this there was always something else that in queue, so now finally I can dig it out.

當初看到照片就愛上這只綿羊寶寶了, 愛睡的樣子真是可愛極了! 加上款式其實不複雜, 所以用了一天把它完成.

The moment I saw the photo of this baby sheep, I just fall in love with it as it is so cute! Besides, the pattern was quite simple, I've used a day to finish it.

可是出來的效果不如我想像的好, 絕對沒有原版的可愛, 我猜可能是原版的白色毛線是毛茸茸的那種, 而我使用的只是一般的毛線. 而且原版說不要把肚子塞得鼓鼓的, 我卻相反, 因為我喜歡握起來漲漲的感覺, 然後製作身體和頭時要用比較大號的鉤針, 而我因為沒有, 所以整個娃娃都是同一號鉤針, 所以就沒有原版那種手腳小小的樣子. 原版的看起來好好抱哦!

The outcome was not as I expected, not as cute as the original, I guess maybe because I used the normal yarn instead of the furry yarn for the white part. And the pattern stated just slightly stuff the tummy, I did the opposite, as I like the feeling of squeezy, and the body and head suppose to use a larger size hook, since I don't have it, I had to complete the whole thing in one size hook, causing to not have the small hand and foot as in the original. The original looks so comfortable to hug!

無論如何, 我還是很喜歡它的~

Raglan Sleeved Pullover 插肩長袖毛衣

蠻久之前就買了一本專織男性款式的棒針書<Knits Men Want>, 因為覺得老是在為自己編織, 卻甚少為老公弄個甚麼, 之前最厲害的就只有去年那件格子毛背心了. 所以在我忙完那條雙面圍巾後, 就動手這一個項目了.

I've bought this specially knitting for guys book <Knits Men Want> for quite some time already, as I always knit for myself, but seldom knit anything for my hubby, the most was just the argyle vest that I knitted last year. So after I finished the double knitting scarf, I decided to start this project.

從書中選了兩個款式, 一件是Raglan Sleeved Henley, 另一件是Baseball Jersey. 最後決定是第一款, 因為沒有嘗試過插肩式, 而且這個款式也比較簡單.

I've chosen two styles from the book, one is the Raglan Sleeved Henley, another is the Baseball Jersey. Finally I decided to make the first style, as I never try knitting raglan style before, and this pattern is much easier.

插肩式其實真的蠻簡單, 只是從領口處開始用輪針慢慢的增加針目一片式的織下去, 所以肩膀上, 袖子上和主衣邊上不會出現縫接處, 整體比較美觀.
而且這也是我第一次嘗試長袖和有紐扣的款式, 其實沒有想像難~

Raglan style was pretty easy actually, all start at the neck edge with circular needle, slowly increased the stitches and knitted one piece from top down, so there was no sewing edges at the shoulder, sleeves and main body, overall it looked tidier.
Besides, this was my first time trying a pattern with long sleeves and button, it was not as hard as I thought~

原本款式只是單一顏色, 可是我想要購買的毛線數量不夠, 所以我就稍微更改了一下, 把中間部分改為淺灰色, 然後在袖口處也給編上兩條淺灰色, 不會那麼單調.

The original pattern called for only one color yarn, but the yarn that I wanted was not enough in stock, so I decided to slightly change the pattern, which the middle part of the main body had been changed to light grey, while knitted two light grey stripes at the sleeve ends.

東方人的身體沒有老外的寬, 也沒有他們的身體那麼長, 所以我把身體部分的長度縮減, 然後袖子部分也稍作修改得較窄一些. 可是老公說穿上去好像還是覺得寬了些, 抱歉啦, 我的功力還不夠嘛...

Our Asian body was not as wide and slender as the Western guy, so I've shorten the length of the body part, and tighten abit on the sleeve part too. However, hubby was saying it is still a bit too loose for him, I'm sorry dear, my skill is not that good yet....

無論如何, 這就是我送給老公今年的聖誕禮物啦!

No matter how, this will be my Christmas present for my dear hubby!

Double Knitting Snowflakes Scarf 雪花飄飄圍巾

Winter is coming and I just feel like knitting some snowy themed scarf.

冬天即將來臨, 而我很想要織一條以雪為主題的圍巾.

I was looking for a technique which I can have the reverse side of the scarf to look as pretty as the front, no offense but I personally do not really like the look of purl stitch, then I came across this technique called "Double Knitting" which can fulfill my demand.
The best part of it is, I can knit both sides at the same time with a seamless edge, creating a double thickness and warmness for the cold winter, and also stunning motifs on both sides with contrast colors.
Double knitting is not something complicated, anyone who can knit and purl can do this, just consider this a level up as doing both at the same time.

我一直想要找尋一種針織技巧, 可以前後都一樣漂亮, 因為我個人其實不太喜歡上針編織出來的圖樣, 直到我找到這個叫作"雙面織"的技巧, 完全可以滿足我的要求.
更棒的是, 我可以同時間織前後雙面而擁有無縫邊緣, 織出雙倍的厚度過個暖暖的冬天, 加上可以織出雙面顏色對比的圖案.
雙面織其實不是甚麼複雜的東西, 任何懂得上針和下針的人就可以做到, 就把它當作是一個升級版, 因為現在需要的是同時上下針.

I've gathered different kind of snowflakes picture and transformed into the pattern for knitting. Then study the double knitting technique and done some research to find the best way to cast-on and bind-off for seamless edges, so that no bulky edges as in the common long tail cast-on or the knit-knit-pass-first-stitch-over-second bind-off method.

我收集了許多不同種類的雪花圖案, 再把它們轉換成針織圖樣. 然後了解雙面織的技巧, 和做了一些功課找出最好的起針和收邊的方法, 可以織出無縫的邊緣, 而不像一般的起針收針法會出現的明顯的邊緣.

Double Knitting Snowflakes Scarf Pattern Link

String Bean Western Style 乾扁四季豆

在我記憶裡, 我吃過最好吃的乾扁四季豆, 是在家鄉的一家小川菜館, 可惜他們已經沒有營業了, 也許因為如此, 每每去吃川菜, 幾乎都一定會點這道乾扁四季豆, 可是也幾乎沒有一家做出我想念的味道.

In my memory, the best String Bean Western Style that I had tasted, was in a small Szechuan restaurant in my hometown, too bad they are out of business now, and maybe because of this, almost every time we went for Szechuan cuisine, I'll order this dish, but almost none of them too were able to reproduce the taste that I miss.

因此, 根據我依稀的印象, 也剛好那天在農夫市場買到很新鮮的四季豆, 所以就自己動手試試看可否炒出那個味道.

Therefore, based on my vaguely memory on that, I try to do it myself and see if I could be able to cook that taste, since I've bought some very fresh string beans from the farmer market.

材料方面很簡單, 只是用了四季豆, 蒜蓉, 菜脯碎, 糖, 醬油和菜油.

The ingredient was simple, only needed string beans, minced garlic, chopped dried radish, sugar, soy sauce and vegetable oil.

1) 首先, 把菜脯碎用水沖洗數遍以減少它的咸味(或許某些牌子的菜脯碎如果沒有那麼咸就可以只沖洗一次), 然後家少許糖混合, 待用.
Firstly, rinsed the chopped dried radish through the water for few times to reduce the saltiness (maybe some other brand which doesn't taste so salty can reduce the rinse amount to one), then add some sugar and mix it.

2) 接下來把洗乾淨的四季豆抹乾, 下熱油鍋炸至表皮有點皺皺和帶少許焦褐色, 撈起瀝乾油份.
Dry the washed string beans with kitchen towel, then fry them in the hot oil until the surface become wrinkle and a little burnt-brownish, take them out to drain the oil.

3) 熱鍋,下少許油, 把蒜蓉和菜脯碎爆香, 再下剛才的四季豆一起炒片刻, 最後下醬油(份量根據醬油的咸度, 我用的是少鈉, 所以比一般的多放些)和少許糖炒至全部材料都沾上醬油的顏色即可上菜.
Heat the wok, add in some oil, saute the chopped garlic and dried radish, then put in the string beans and stir fry for a while, at last, add in the soy sauce (the portion depends on the saltiness of the soy sauce, mine is low sodium, so I add in a little bit more) and a pinch of sugar and stir fry until the ingredients all coated with the soy sauce, and it is now ready to serve.

儘管是第一次嘗試, 但是很高興炒出來的味道很棒, 雖然還不到餐館的水平, 但是還是有少許那個想念的乾扁四季豆的味道.

Although this is my first attempt, I'm glad that the taste is delicious, still not up to the restaurant level yet, but at least it bring back some of the taste of the String Bean Western Style in my memory.
