    The coolest part about my wedding and family work is getting to share life with my clients long past their wedding day.  I shot Cora and Owen’s wedding back in the Fall of 2009, and this Spring I got to do their first family photo session.  It was a brief 30 minute session in City Park, but it was all that was needed to capture this lovely family.

    Cora and Owen, once again I loved capturing beautiful moments with y’all!

    It was such a pleasure creating with Melanie early this month!  We decided a fashion session would give her the chance to express her beauty and sensuality in a unique way.  A simple purple dress, paired with gorgeous hair/make-up styling by Colby Reed was all that was needed for Melanie to shine.      Denver’s Derby Party is the second largest Derby party in the country.  Each year Denverites are dressed to the nine in big hats, polished shoes, and seer sucker suits.  If I didn’t know any better, I’d think it was a Sunday in Monroe (my hometown)!   Much fun was had this past Saturday; check out a few of my favorite shots..

     I am so excited for Melissa and Chris’s wedding this Fall.  Not only is Melissa one of the most profoundly beautiful and empowered women I know, but she and Chris make a dynamic duo… and did I mention that they laugh at my jokes..? :) :)   Here are a few moments from our brief engagement sesh a couple of weeks ago.

     You’re not 16 just everyday, nor do you get a fashion photo shoot with 6 of your closest friends everyday either.      Last month I shot images of the YSL opening event at the Denver Art Museum for Aspen Peak Magazine. It was wonderful to meet so many big names in fashion and beauty and to see everyone looking so stylish and having a great time.  Though I was surrounded by some of the best and brightest, there wasn’t an air of pretentiousness present.  Goes to show you that the more excellent one is, usually the more humble as well.

    We love Lucy!

    Lucy, Colby (hair and make-up stylist extraordinaire) and I met up early last month to capture some stylish and authentic photos to show her personal style for her upcoming play, Date*- www.datetheplay.com.  Her play features this Friday at the Denver Center for Performing Arts and is about Lucy’s experience in the internet dating world.  “Sex in the City” meets real life… honest, quirky and sure to be a great time.

     I woke up from a Nyqil induced coma last month to a text from a friend saying, “pack your bags; we’re flying you to St. Croix.”  I immediately thought, “Is this real life…???” (see video here.) So off I went to a Caribbean vacation a week later with three of my beautiful friends .  We really ruffed it by staying in the humble conditions of a private mansion on the beach, including fine meals and a massage therapist named Precious who sings reggae.  Not a bad way to live… just another day in the matrix. :)

     The absolute BEST part of shooting weddings is the relationship that I build with my clients.  I absolutely LOVE Becky/Rebecca/Reba and Wilbur.. and once little bur is out of the oven I look forward to having a few beers with this wonderful couple.  Seriously though, it is an honor to shoot not only Becky’s ballerina bridal and their wedding day, but also their first family photos with little bur in her belly.  Take a peek at my favorite moments over the past few months.
