The beautiful Liffey Falls in Tasmania has so many angles to take photos from, however Gav pointed out this great little composition low down near the water movement. I opted for a vertorama in this image to fit in more of the scene, which I was able to complete quite easily using my tilt shift lens.

Illawarra rush

Little Austinmer Beach | Illawarra | NSW

I headed out with Dex this morning for a shoot down at Little Austi beach. Was a chilly and windy morning with little cloud but a beautiful colour gradient in the sky. My favourite rock shelf was flowing very nicely and I spend a good hour finding various compositions.

What an amazing sunrise we witnessed at Bluestone Bay. It's a spectacular location in its own right, however the sky we got was just phenomenal. Not the easiest location to get to, it requires a 4WD to access, but certainly worth the effort.

On Sunday Sydney harbour got pretty much fogged out and I went down to shoot it. As the fog was disappearing it seemed to concentrate around the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and created an amazing effect where the bridge was actually channeling the fog. Taken from Kirribilli.

When I was at Cape Solander recently I took some time to take some close up shots of waves moving over a rockshelf from the cliff I was standing on. This is what I came up with. I really enjoy making these kinds of black and white seascapes.

Potters Cliffs

On Saturday morning I went out with the Focus group to Potters Point, near Kurnell in the southern suburbs of Sydney. This location is quite versatile, sheer cliffs, exposed sandstone plateaus and churning waves make for some great subjects. We didn't get too much colour on this morning but did get some nice dramatic clouds and moody light.

Dip Falls

We we probably shooting in this location for about 45 minutes. Unfortunately there were quite a few shadows cast over the falls by trees due to the time of the day we were there. There was a brief period of about 5 minutes when the sun went behind the clouds, the shadows disappeared, and the exposures were just popping. This was when this images was taken. A good lesson in patience and persistence for me.
