Lushpod #38 - The Uncanny Valley is the hypothesis that human replicas that appear almost but not exactly like real human beings elicits feelings of eeriness and revulsion among some observers. The valley denotes a deep in the human observer's affinity for the replica, a relation that otherwise increases with the replica's human likeness. The set was recorded live at PPP at the 3rd Annual Crab Feast & Pool Purdy. LP38 features tracks from Purple Disco Machine, Matthias Meyer, Christoph, YokoO, The Golden Pony, and Human Machine.

Beyond Tulum is inspired by my adventures in the jungles of Tulum, Mexico. I recorded sounds of the jungle and layered it sporadically throughout the set. There were different versions of how this podcast was going to manifest itself, but eventually I settle with sounds of the land and its people. Thank you to David and Jilly for allowing us to be apart of their nuptials. This was a truly mind altering experience. The lushpods have become a sort of sonic diary for me over the years. The past two weeks I have experienced the loss of two amazing people in my lives. Two lives that were influential in my development as a DJ. Inspired by the Elliott Smith track, I wanted to honor both of these beings in a 3 hour audio meditation. Thank you Erin and Nicholas.

Lushpod #35 is a departure from the typical sound explored in Lushpods. It was recorded in various occasions that I no longer remember when and where the pieces come together. Strange Transmissions is heavily influenced by the discovery of an old iPod that I had 10 years ago. So a lot of the songs and sounds are derived from that era. David Bowie was an artist who could construct identities and embody them so convincingly, then deconstruct them and move on so quickly, because he knew that makeup and costumes and backstories and sexual proclivities were above all a tantalizing way to put across ideas that are more difficult to convey through pop music than through perhaps any other artistic medium. Lushpod #33 was recorded live at the After Dark Party on November 14, 2015 in downtown Los Angeles. LP33 evolved in so many different ways and aspects, and previous attempts to record it left me dissatisfied. After some serious considerations, this current recording stands as its best form. This mix is a return to more spacial and melodic sounds with middle eastern influences. I hope you like it. Lushpod #30 - From Carcosa

Carcosa is a fictional city in the Ambrose Bierce short story "An Inhabitant of Carcosa". Carcosa has been used in various science fiction novels from HP Lovecraft and Robert Chambers, to True Detective and Game of Thrones. Carcosa represents our physical detachment from our surroundings. The Carcosa story is simply a way of describing what it means to be trapped in the same story that you've told yourself over and over again. From Carcosa was primarily recorded during sunrise at Woogie Weekend to celebrate Alex K.'s birthday. As security shut-down our sound, I was able to complete only 2.5 hours of the intended recording. The last 30 minutes was recorded at home. LP30 features tracks from Art Department, Boards of Canada, War on Drugs, Ramzoid, Daniel Dubb, Damien Lazarus, Eli Escobar, Oscar L, and Bicep.
