According to the results of the National Association of Home Builders Remodeling Market Index, bathroom remodels were the most popular type of remodeling project last year. Kitchen projects were a close second in 2011, and it comes as no surprise since bathrooms and kitchens have been in the top two spots since the Remodeling Market Index (RMI) was created in 2001.

The RMI also revealed that 78% of remodelers listed bathroom projects as a common project in the first quarter of 2012, so it appears that bathroom remodels will continue in popularity as homeowners choose to improve their homes this year.
