this weeks weather could possibly be the most unpredictable week of the season; from 90′s to 60′s? really? friday’s forecast was everything from partly sunny, wind, possibly scattered showers, 70 degrees….I know, lisa, I told you it wouldn’t rain. I was right till 6pm? these two were fabulous through it all. as guests were headed out to sit for the outdoor ceremony, it started to pour. blythefield’s staff immediately took action bringing all of the chairs in, arranging them on the dance floor in front of the fireplace, and dried off. it was a very intimate guestlist, so everyone understood and appreciated staying dry. after the ceremony we headed outside for family photos, till ten minutes later…more rain. back inside! felt like a game of musical locations. the image above was taken just before their grand entrance. thinking we had a break in the rain we grabbed a couple of carts and took off on to the greens. the second we were parked, it poured. these two rock. as cold (and wet) as it was, they were still game. one quick shot. look at the lower left corner. and no one could even hear us sloshing into the reception…the party started before we arrived!

a bit delayed in this blog post, but at the same time, I might be okay…precious memories. shannon emailed me months ago to ask if I was avail the evening of her one year anniversary. of course! jay has been deployed in afghanistan, home on leave during their anniversary, and right back he flew only days later. jay & shannon, I hope this is a reminder of that perfect evening!

before austin and I ventured out for his session I asked if he wanted to start at the marina he’s spent this summer employed by. his reaction, “really?” of course! could you even imagine looking at the beauty of this place all summer? last year I covered jordan’s senior pics, this year was austin’s turn. yes, those blue eyes run in the family. *smile* and to follow in his sisters footsteps, austin made my job easy…very comfortable in front of the camera. and to answer the question on all the ladies minds reading this…yes.

3mths | frank, smith and del

if you think coming home with a new baby (as a first time parent) is easy, let me introduce you to ^left to right^ frank, smith, and del. I met these sweet little men during their stay at devos. being invited into their home to celebrate them at three months old was an absolute joy. the last time I saw frank he was being fed through a tube, smith was looking at the possibility of going home with in a day, and del was about a week away from home. the voicemail from their mom said to please call after lunch because her “scheduled” time to sleep was from 5am till noon. WHAT?! yes, their house is just that busy. they are scheduled for feedings, which take 30 minutes per boy, that then leads to a diaper change…unless of course they need it changed outside of their schedule. they also sleep with in that same schedule. smith wakes up first, then frank, then del. I think I would suck on my siblings head if that were the case too. oh, and their session was scheduled between feedings too…which makes for relaxed boys. notice del (below left) and frank (right) were still snoozing when we arrived…
smith. the “big” boy. very relaxed. he’s a thinker.
frank. wakes up a very happy boy. constantly moves. he’s a do-er.
del. he didn’t wake up so quickly. he actually fought us for more sleep. but then once awake was so mellow. I can’t say “thinker” or “do-er” at this point. I’ll let you know at 6mths…
you lay them all together and they start wiggling for space. hilarious.
del, smith, frank…
frank, smith, del…the order they were born.
and to show just how mellow sir del became, and I’m quite certain thrived on the attention, the “can I hold one?” kids were in their element while smith and frank were eating. it only took a couple of days for the “can I hold one” kids to stop asking for one of their own. my apologies to the fun2. not.gonna.happen. here is how I get my baby-fix these days. *grin*

I fell in love with Justin and Joanna last fall. They were amazing in front of my camera, so relaxed, so completely in love, and the constant laughter was contagious. They talked about how their wedding party was a little crazy, how their day was coming together so perfectly, and they could not have been more right. Their wedding party was entertaining and their day was perfection!

“we fell in love over a lizard.” how many people do you know that can say that?

cris and I have been friends for (cringing as I admit this, since I’m still 24) about thirty years. she was my closest, bike-rideable, adventure seeking, fight with like a sister, dance in the driveway like rockstars to heart, and climb ice waves on lake MI, neighbor as a kid. I won’t even go into the bad hair styles and cris’s red/white/blue coka-cola shirt with matching socks under her tight-rolled skinny jeans, and eye shadow. we went all through school together. she’s one of those friends that even though she moved to cali ten years ago we can still pick-up where we left off. now after all the above info….she’s back in CA, and I’m HERE. *giggle* and damon…we met for the first time on friday. damon will definitely keep this adventure seeking rockstar on her toes. I can see it. after waiting out the severe storms we started the morning at the family farm then moved into downtown benton harbor. the colors, delicious. the laughter, contagious.
congratulations old friend and new friend! I hope you think of me as you’re making your plans for costa rica! :wink wink:
