This draped dress is awesome! The length, the fit…it's perfect!

It's chic and elegant in and of itself so you only need to wear minimal accessories. In this case, I wore my Posh Pike Necklace from Astrid & Miyu from London. If you missed my write-up about them, click here to read.

The dress is also draped in the back which gives it a little bit more volume back there.

You've probably seen these red pumps a gazillion times now. Unfortunately, these were the ones who failed me during the shoot. LOL. But surprisingly, it's still in great condition. I wasn't. LOL.

Behind the scenes…isn't this  wooden walkway so beautiful? It does seem like a labyrinth leading to a beautiful mansion behind the woods.

Now this beige sleeveless body contour dress, also from Forever21, is $22.80. Why is it a bit more expensive? It's sleeveless! Go figure! LOL.

Anyway, I don't have a voluptuous body ala J.Lo and Kim Kardashian but for some reason, in my opinion, body contours look quite alright on me. Agree?   Body contours flatter the shape of the body and if you're considering wearing one but not sure if it compliments your shape, be sure to consult a good friend who will tell you the truth.

I guess the theme of this outfit post is earth colors. This beige dress is perfect for all seasons really. For autumn and winter, match it with tights and coat. For spring and summer, use pastel or bright but light-weight scarf.

In my case, I matched the dress with my Forever21 brown leatherette motorcycle jacket.

Used my grandma's shoulder bag again!

You know I'm huge on bib necklaces. Well, for the most part. If you're wearing a round neck or scoop neckline, it's great to wear statement necklaces.

Since I'm wearing monochromatic earth color scheme, I used jewelries that had touches of turquoise and other pastels.

And matched the whole thing with my H&M bootie. I could definitely re-style this dress for spring but with my Fibi & Clo sandals or some ballet flats.

A little behind the scenes…this is me giving my mom a bit of instruction on the shot that I want. She was making fun of me giving her directions so she took this snapshot.

Here's what's on my wishlist:

One of them is a costume jewelry company owned by two young friends, Connie and Jenny, based in London, United Kingdom. These ladies hit it up as friends back in 2009 when they met at London Business School. They both used to work in a corporate environment. I can't imagine how fashionably limited that is when it comes to expressing your style and what not. I've never been a corporate girl and being in the creative industry, I'm fortunate that I can express myself in whatever way, shape, or form. But being in a corporate environment limits you somewhat and this is what propelled these friends to start Astrid & Miyu.

Astrid & Miyu is Connie & Jenny's solution to their own corporate fashion dilemma as well as sharing this solution to other females as well. You'd probably think, well there are other accessory companies out there that can do the same. What's their difference?

Well for one, I love how personalized their service is. See this handwritten note below? It's precious! I love that the co-founder, Connie, would take the time to write a handwritten note together with the jewelry! It just says a lot about their service. I hope that they'd continue this even when they grow bigger.

Secondly, is their packaging and presentation. I'm a stickler for presentation. It just has more impact when a product is carefully packaged and presented to the buyer. The necklace and the ring that I got actually came in a resealable pouch and still packaged inside this canvas pouch. I love it when there's just a little bit more investment made in the overall presentation. It just has more impact to me.

It came with a little card that gives the customer a discount code and tells her more about Astrid & Miyu but what I really adore in this tiny card, is the closing "With Much LOVE." Isn't that just sweet?

Finally, Astrid & Miyu isn't just about personalized service and nice presentation but they are also about quality. This posh spike necklace is over the top! I wish my camera can do justice to this necklace. I can't wait to show this to you when I'm wearing it in one of my outfit posts.

This First Kiss ring is super adorable! It looks super expensive for its quality but it's only about $19 (USD).

Thought it'd be fun to post an outfit today just to celebrate this day with you all!

Red is definitely the color of the occasion. I don't have a lot of it in my closet (3 dresses in total I think, this being one of them, and one shirt). Thankfully, I have one chic enough for a Valentine's outfit post! What do you think?

This Forever21 dress is haltered. I love the black neck and waist bands.

Because it's still winter, I really need to put on something over. I chose my black sort of velvetty (but it's really not) Forever21 blazer. Say cheeeeese!

To break the "vampirey" colors (or at least they are colors that I could easily relate to Dracula!), I used pop of turquoise, gold, and beige here and there.

Instead of using black handbag which will make the whole outfit so dark, I used my beige Marc Fisher handbag and my statement floral Shoebd platform pumps!

So this event is the inspiration for today's post. You just can't go to the Rodeo show without getting the look! It's just a MUST have and I mean plaid shirt, boots (cowboy boots if you have it), and cowboy hat. Sadly, I don't have cowboy hat but fortunately, I have some of Charming Charlie's Rodeo-themed accessories to make my look complete! Glad that they carry such items.

Shot this outfit in a 50 degree weather plus wind chill factor which means it's probably around high 40s. Definitely freezing for me but the show must go on, haha!

On to my outfit…I'm not a big fan of plaid but my mom is! I grabbed her oldie but goodie Forever21 plaid shirt and her brown Bamboo boots (yes can you believe I don't have brown boots?) and matched them with my Forever21 skinny jeans ($10.50 at Forever21, ha!)

Well, it isn't necessarily my favorite season. In fact, I don't like it at all. If I could choose one, it'd be spring time. When we shot this outfit the other day, it was about mid 60s in Houston. Spring weather! Love it! It was perfect for what I have prepared to shoot.

On this post, I want to show you how you can dress down an otherwise glamorous piece of clothing such as a sequined skirt. Normally, you'd see such in parties, clubs, cocktails or perhaps a dinner date. But just because it's too sparkly, it doesn't mean that you can't wear it casually.

Let's take a look! Here's my overall look…(keep scrolling down for the tips, it's good! *wink*)
 

Breaking down my outfit…I have a sleeveless shirt from Lush (and courtesy of my aunt from my Miami, what can I say I'm pampered, LOL) and a sequined skirt from Poof Couture.

I love this top because it's actually layered by itself. The mint and turquoise colors matched perfectly the navy sequined skirt. Since my goal is to dress down (okay not much), wear something casual to match the glam item. If you're top is sequined, use a cotton or knit bottom. You can even wear chiffon bottom if you want but I think knits are better.

I layered the top with grey vest from American Rag Cie. Grey is a neutral color and it works with blue so well.

Even though I was trying to 'dress down' here, I cannot completely and successfully dress down. I guess, that's how fashionistas are. My neckline feels so bare without wearing a necklace so I picked this long mint and gold one from Charlotte Russe.

Got some bangles and rings from my collection that have mint and turquoise touches on them to match the ensemble.

Bangles and bracelets are a normal part of my dressing. You don't have to wear them, especially when trying to dress down. But see, my tops are sleeveless so I gotta have something in my wrists/arm somehow.

My favorite designer handbag so far is this Black Ostrich Skin satchel from Vasaelini. You can see more of her collections at www.senseofashion.com/designerbotique.

And tada!!! Perhaps the first time ever you've seen me wearing flats and sandals. Honestly, even though you see my outfit posts mostly with heels and wedges, my daily wear would consist of flats and sandals. I'm sure my friends would testify to that!

I just love love love this Sea Star sandals from Fibi and Clo. Mint green is my favorite color (so far) and so when I saw this, I just drooled, haha! (well not literally, eew!) They have the most comfortable sandals ever! I have quite a few of this type from other brands but the soles are not padded so after awhile of walking, it hurts. This pair won't hurt your feet because they're padded.
