America is celebrating Memorial Day today that is why I chose this song as my entry for this week. The song wasn't intended for the heroes on this video, but it still speaks of the country so I think that will do.

There were a lot of renditions, but I chose this one by Beyonce which I think is the nicest among all.

I’ve Had So Many Thanks to Give

I got used to sending thank you cards when I got here in the U.S. It was not something that I did back in my home country because more often than not, we thank the people personally.

I can’t remember how many thank you cards I’ve sent already, but maybe soon, I will consider giving a thank you gift basket for a change. For sure it is something that will really be appreciated. I’m not saying though that cards will not be appreciated, but I think not as much. Just think of the goodies that are inside the gift baskets. There is no doubt it would delight them, huh?

A Tweet Treat For Me

Even before we bought my car a month ago, I had already been thinking of what accessories to get. And when we finally got the car, I bought a steering wheel cover and a spare tire cover. The special thing about it though is they have both Tweety Bird designs and that is because I like Tweety Bird stuff. I used to collect Tweety, but stopped when I got pregnant. And now, Tweety Bird is back.

There were a lot of car accessories with Tweety Bird on them which also included truck seat covers, but I don’t want to overdo it because I am afraid I will be speaking like Tweety Bird too soon enough if I will fill my car with that stuff. LOL.

Two Generations of Musical Talent

My stepdaughter brought herself a new guitar about a couple of weeks ago. She brought it here to show it to us. It was a pretty guitar, but I am not into playing musical instruments so I only listened to her and her dad (my husband) talk about it. They talked about musical keys, notes and even Dunlop guitar strings which was all Greek to me. LOL.

My husband loves playing the guitar and his daughter is starting to learn how to play. He taught his daughter a few things that day and I hope they will do it again soon because it is really nice seeing them playing together. They looked like a dad and daughter band.

Crocs Sneakers

I bought this pair of sneakers for my son before his birthday so he will have a new pair to wear on his birthday party. His party was in March, but I just remember to blog about it today because there had been a lot going on in my head that I didn't know which one to share first. (",)

I bought this online and he was the one who chose this. He's been into this military thing which the husband introduced him into so I think you will not wonder anymore why he chose this design.

The shoes was so light that even my son was surprised how light it is not to mention, very comfortable too.

I also bought me a pair that I ordered at the same time with this. I blog about it next time.

The three of us (my husband, my son and I) went out of town yesterday to celebrate Mother's Day, but I wasn't the only one who had a blast, the three of us certainly did. It was raining the whole time we were on the road and I was anxious about it at first, but it didn't become a problem at all. We had a great time and this song will always remind us of that trip. It played several times and the husband and I sang along with it every time. That was really fun!

I'm going country this week and that is after this song popped up in my head. This is one of the many songs that I like from Trisha Yearwood and this song actually reminds me of a special occasion - my first birthday here in the U.S. because while we were dining in a steak house restaurant, this was one of the songs that was played. This song certainly reminds me of a beautiful memory that I will forever cherish. (",)

What Goes Down Eventually Rebounds

I always make sure to watch the news daily so I will be updated on what’s the latest whether locally or all over the world. I think it was last week that the news about housing getting back on the track where it once was was in the headlines. That was such a good news to real estate industry and probably to louisville real estate as well.

For the past few years, the housing spiraled down, greatly affected by the economy. But now that the economy is getting better, so is each and everything that was affected. Such great news!

No Rest For the Weary

“Back to the real world!”

That is my husband’s famous line whenever we got back home from our road trips. And it never fails to amuse me. He always has got to go back to work, but not me since I am a stay-at-home wifey.

Poor hubby! I know if he could have only extend our vacay for a longer time, he surely would have done so so he could have more of his much-needed R&R, but he simply couldn’t.

And now that we are back, he’s back to the spring cleaning which was put to a halt because of our recent trip. Back to the continuing reno of our humble abode too. He still has to re-stain the kitchen cabinets and change their handle grips or hardware. And the list never ends. LOL.

I've always liked Charice. Her voice is simply amazing. And as a Filipino, I am truly proud of her success here in the land of Uncle Sam - something not all are destined to achieve.

Always the Best For Mom

My mom’s birthday is coming soon and I do wonder if my brother is already browsing for birthday gifts for mom from son. He’s always been the type who does it at the last minute which can be like shopping for a gift on the day of the occasion itself. Well, that’s him. The most important thing is, he never forgets.

My mom is turning 62 this year, but tell you what: She certainly doesn’t look that age and she never fails to get compliments. Way to go, mom! Stay young forever!

Birthday Invite

For my son, Yogi's 9th birthday theme, I haven't really decided what it was until I saw this invitation. As soon as I saw this, that was when I thought of the theme which was the sports theme. It was simply perfect because we had his birthday at a mini golf course and he so loves watching basketball and baseball now too. Everything came next then. His cake had basketball decor and our gift to him was little tikes basketball.

And the celebrant's reaction? AWESOME!!!

Colored Hose, But Not For Your Legs

I was amused when I saw the different colors of fire hoses online. They used to be black or tan. Now they come in different colors which is actually very nice. I think they are keeping up with the latest trend and fad in the fashion world, huh!?

Next time, they will probably come with different designs and texture too like, let’s say, with prints like flowers, or polka dots perhaps, et cetera. That would really be cool, wouldn’t it?

Seriously, I am actually looking forward to seeing that.

One Needs to Know Before Popping a Pill

How safe it is to take a diet pill or, to be precise, is phenteripped a safe diet pill?? I am not asking this for myself, but for the people who are contemplating getting into it. My mom did try some before as well as the other different kinds of weight loss supplements and stuff, and to be honest, it did do wonders to her. But she stopped after getting the weight she wanted and that was it.

You may wonder why I asked about this all of a sudden. Well, I came across women talking about it in a group that I am a member of on Facebook. They were wondering and they made me wonder too.

The Birthday Boy's 9th Birthday Gift

I chose sport as the theme for my son, Yogi's 9th Birthday party and that is because he is so into watching basketball and baseball now, as well as being eager to join sports team in school. We had his birthday party at a mini golf course and as a gift, we gave him a Little Tikes basketball set.

See the look on his face? He was so surprised to see it and was overjoyed. The husband immediately installed it and Yogi has played with it since then.

Hubby Makes Things Right

The discount window blinds that my husband installed in our son’s room are really awesome not to mention perfect because the sun shines on the bay window at the southern part of the room making it difficult for our son to watch the TV.

But after my husband installed them, my son was really delighted. He just closes the blinds and totally enjoys his favorite television shows. And I really like how it looks - very neat and lovely.

I went shopping with our good friend, Carol, one time and I was so amused at myself because what I thought was an accent pillow was actually a bed for pet. We don’t have a pet here at home because I am not really into pets, but my brother has pets back home. And unlike here, they didn’t have beds and that is because he kept them outside and they had cages to stay in. They baby their pets here more than we do. Nevertheless, we care for them as family just like everybody here does, I believe. Dogs are man’s best friend after all.

Maybe One Day I’ll Be a Motorcycle Mama

When spring sprung, the people on their motorcycles with their bluetooth motorcycle helmets also sprung to the highways which is one thing that never fails to catch my attention. I really like the sound of their bikes. I think I have a rider lurking in me. Hmmm, that being said, I think I will just get me a bike instead of a car, huh? LOL.

It always amuses the husband whenever I talk about it. You want to know why? I am petite. So petite that the bike is way bigger than me. Hehe.

How Soon Will Soon Be?

I was going through all my messages on Facebook when I saw a message from a good friend back home. In it she shared with me the custom tshirt that her son designed for us. Our group was thinking of having us all the same shirt that we could wear whenever we have a get-together, though I am a thousand miles away from them. They will send me mine with hopes I get to wear it soon, soon being when I pay them a visit.

I like the design of the shirt and I think each of the six of us will wear a different color. I had that message a few weeks ago and I haven’t received any updates yet on how’s it going. I’ll just wait.

Early Spring Warmth Means Swim Days are Here

The days are getting warmer and soon my son will be splashing with the neighbor’s kids again in their kiddie pool. It is an extra-large pool and only about waist-deep for a four foot kid. And all of them being more or less that tall, there is no need for a pool fence because they can jump in anytime they want.

My son’s swimming trunks are ready to use and the sunscreen that I bought last year is still good and plenty so he is definitely ready to rumble once the temperature reaches its hottest. My son will turn much darker again this summer. No problem for as long as he’s enjoying it.

A Great Deal is A Big Deal For Me

Like I always say and muse about, I'm always looking for great deals and great savings when it comes to shopping for just about anything. Why spend a lot on something when you can actually get it at a much lesser price? And that is why I am always on the look out in regard to the hottest deals and discounts among my favorite stores-either online or not-when it comes to my family‘s personal needs. And when there’s a great deal, you bet, I certainly grab it while it’s hot.

I must say, I have mastered the art of “savings" when it comes to shopping. But I must admit, there are still a lot of things that surprise me-things that I wasn’t aware about and things that I wished I should have known before. Case in point: Websites that offer coupon codes of perhaps all the shopping or online stores that you could think of. I didn’t know that I could Get the best Endless coupon code without having to check each and everyone of my favorite stores until recently.

I can actually just go to one website and all the best deals of the best stores that offers such are there. I just have to let my fingers do the work. It’s as simple as that-very energy and time saving and of course, not to forget, certainly money saving. But it definitely is not yet too late for me to enjoy great savings, is it? So, happy shopping to me!
