HTC just announced the new HTC HD2 aka Leo for the European market. This monster comes with a 4.3 inch 480×800 WVGA capacitive touch screen display which is the first windows mobile phone that uses capacitive touch. Although it seems to be quite bulky, the phone is only 11mm thick. Other than that, it also comes with Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional, which is also the first in HTC line that uses the attractive HTC Sense UI.

Why call this a monster? The freakin’ huge display for sure! It is 4.3 inches and it is way much bigger than the previous Touch HD. Under the hood, it is powered by 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB ROM and 448MB of RAM. It just feels like combining 2 units of Touch HD into one! And yet, the 5MP camera comes with flash which was long gone since the Touch series were introduced.

With Android phones getting popular in the market, how well can this WM phone perform? Although it’s using the new WM 6.5, a lot of people still thinks it sucks though. Yet, with the high power processor under the hood, most probably it will perform well. I do hope that HTC will come out with a Android version though. Perhaps something like the rumored HTC Dragon. Having an over-the-air, always-on connection means that your inbox is up to date, no matter where you are or what you’re doing. How Wordbook works

• Wordbook will post an excerpt of the post along with a few images detected on the post automatically.
• Wordbook will post it on your Facebook Wall so your friends can see it easily on their news feed area and they will be able to comment on it straight on your wall.
• Wordbook automatically submits the post to your Facebook wall every time a new blog post is published even if you use post scheduling.

Installing Wordbook on WordPress

1. Go to your WordPress Administration Control Panel – Plugins – Add New
2. Search for Wordbook and you will find 2 plugins with the same name.



Install the one with the author name “Robert Tsai”.

3. Once installed, activate the plugin
4. Once activated, go to settings – Wordbook to setup Wordbook
5. Click on the Facebook padlock button to generate the one-time code.



6. You will be diverted to Facebook apps page. Just follow the instructions.



7. Key in the login code generated in your Wordbook setup page. Then you will need to click on the second Facebook padlock button to authorize Wordbook to publish stories to your Facebook news feed.



8. That’s it! Make sure there’s no more facebook padlock button in the Wordbook setup page and you are good to go! Just try make a new post on your blog and you will see a similar post as below in your facebook news feed. Woohoo!~

P.S: I’ve seen some comments complaining on the facebook one-time setup is not working. You might need to setup again constantly every time you submit a new post. Do you face this problem?

HTC just announced their latest product – HTC Tattoo (formerly known as “Click”). This will be one of the entry level of Android phones, which is “budget friendly” for those who can’t afford for those expensive ones – HTC Hero maybe? But from what I read from Mobilecrunch, this Android phone might be cheap enough to be either totally free or cost next to nothing once carriers subsidies it. I seriously doubt that it will be free from our local telco carriers though.

HTC Tattoo comes with a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 CPU, 512MB/256MB ROM/RAM, a 2.8-inch 240×320 QVGA screen, a 3.2 MP cam, GPS, 802.11b/g, GSM/EDGE, digital compass, Bluetooth 2.0, and a 3.5-mm jack. Any yet, HTC Tattoo comes with the Sense UI which is exactly the same as Hero!

The phone will launch in Europe this coming October with other markets following shortly afterwards. Since HTC Hero just launched in Malaysia just a week ago, expect this phone to be here by end of the year or first quarter of 2010 maybe.

At the price of RM2399, will you consider to change to the new android platform? Perhaps I will. For me, the Windows Mobile vs Android is something like IE vs Firefox, which the latter wins most of the time. Hopefully I can get a review unit to test on.

Good news for the over 1 million HTC Magic users out there! Over the last weekend, HTC just announced that the second generation Android device would be getting a UI overhaul just like the HTC Hero. The Sense UI update will be released on HTC’s site in October and users can download the ROM and update it manually.
