Almost 3 weeks without blogging

Yeah! It's almost 3 weeks without blogging. It's been a 3 weeks of busy working outside my hometown. I don't have time for blogging. Below is the outline where am I during those weeks:

Jun 18 - Jul 01 (2 weeks): I've been to Subic, specifically in SEZC (Subic EnerZone Corporation) to upgrade and their GIS applications that my team deployed there.

Jul 02 - Jul 05 (3 Days): I've been to Butuan, specifically in ANECO (Agusan del Norte Electric Cooperative) to assess their GIS Systems.

However, in my next blog posts, you may able to know the details of what really happen on those days.... :)

No Internet Connection

I have bought a wireless router (Linksys WRT54GS) last night. I bought it so that I can share my internet connection at home with my laptop computer. After buying the said item, I excitedly go to our house to install the router. I follow the steps in installing the router based on the step by step guide on the CD. One of its step is to disconnect the internet cable from my PC to the router. Then one of the step in the installation is to detect if there is an internet connection. But the router didn't find any internet connection. :( I did all the that I can think of in configuring the router but still no luck. So I decided to put back my internet cable to my PC so that I can still used my internet. But the worst thing happen, my LAN detected a limited connectivity. It means I can't still connect to the internet even I put back my cable. So again, I did everything I can think of to troubleshoot the problem. And again, no luck. :( So I decided to just go to bed because there's nothing else I can do. Last night was my first night where I didn't access my internet.

Today, I'm planning to reconfigure it again based on what I've learned from my officemates on how to troubleshoot the problem. I'm hoping that I can solve the problem so that my PC and laptop and especially me can use the internet... :)

My boss treats us for his birthday

Happy Birthday to my Boss Jotham Millana. Me and my officemates left the office to go to Dencio's Restaurant (Eat all you can Resto) where our boss will treat us for lunch. We arrived there past 12 pm, riding in our service vehicle. Some of our officemates bring along the their service motorcycle. At the resto, I immediately went to the buffet table to get some foods because I'm really hungry. The foods I ate are: Steamed LapuLapu (Fish), Grilled Squid and Menudo. I even ordered a bottomless coke. We gave our boss

I have a leftover on my plate because I can't digest all the food i took from the buffet table because my stomach is full. Good thing the resto didn't charge me for the leftover. They have a rule that states "Double Pay if there's a Leftover".

Now, I'm back in our office and feels sleepy. Normally in our lunch break, I allot 15 minutes in eating and 45 minutes of sleeping. Now I've consumed all the 1 hour for eating, that's is why I'm sleepy.

My car has a problem :(

I have a Toyota Lite Ace. Since yesterday my car is not moving like the way it should be. Its speed degrades that even the slowest car can overtake me. :( Before it happens, I've been hearing some crazy noise under my car that i don't usually hear. Too bad for me because I'm only just a driver. I don't have any idea on how to diagnose some problems on my car. The main reason why it happens because I missed to check the temperature gauge. I only notice that the temperature is extremely hot when I at home and then I randomly checked the gauge if its hot. When i saw the gauge, I checked the radiator. I felt that it was hot. I put some water to cool it off, but the water will just dried up instantly because it was too hot. So what I did is just let it stay overnight to cool-off. The following day, I put water on it. The tank is empty and I just put 4 liters of water. After that I drove from the house to the office. Then I realized that the speed is moving slow. When I'm in the 3rd or 4th gear, it's just like I'm in the 1st gear. When I'm traversing an uphill, my car is moving slow when I'm in 3rd and 4th gear where usually it's just ok before the overheat. I'm planning to let my car be checked by a mechanic tommorow. I just hope that if there's a need to repair, it will not be costly.

Preparing for Next Week

I will be in Subic next week to repair and upgrade the GIS Applications that we installed there. SEZC (Subic EnerZone Corporation), an Aboitiz Company and a sister company of the company where I worked for. I am preparing now the programs needed for the repair and upgrade. They listed 9 concerns that I will be working when I get there. As of now, I have finished some of my task. Hopefully I can finished it before next week so that my only job when I'm in subic is just to deploy the program and observed if bugs will occur.

Smart BRO (Wireless Broadband)

Last saturday, my wireless internet connection was installed. Its been two years since I planned to have an internet connection at home. Unfortunately, there are no ISP available in our area. Just last year, Smart BRO is available. I was not planning to install a wireless internet connection because of some report that there could be interference in the signal or sometimes connection will be lost due to bad weather condition. I'm still hoping that someday, a wired internet connection will be available in our area.

After interviewing some Smart BRO users, with their positive feedbacks, I finally decided that I want that connection for a desperate move of just wanting to have an internet connection at home.

So since saturday, I can now updates my blogs and do my research at home.

Hello and Good Day to all readers. This is the third blog that I made. First, I made a blog about my Gadgets and the second blog is about my Baby. I think this will be my last blogsite because it's hard to maintain 1 blog site, how much more 3 blog site. This blog site will contain happenings, events and episodes of my life. That's why I called it "This is the story of my life..."

Let me start by introducing myself. I'm Junex Macalinao. My friends called me macao, in came from my family name(MACalinAO). I'm a GIS Supervisor (Systems Development section) of a certain electric utility here in Davao, Philippines. My work primarily focuses on creating GIS Applications.

Maybe you are asking why my blog site is called "macaojunex"? Well, I just want to standardize my blogsites that it will starts with macao. :)
