Mailbox, the popular email app for iPhone, has been updated with iPad support. Today’s version 1.3 update makes it a universal app that runs on all iOS devices. A desktop version is also in the works, but no announcement on when it will be released.

iOS 7 will be “very, very flat” according to a 9to5Mac source. I hope this rumor is false because I think it would be a dumb move to abandon the beautiful interface in the current version of iOS for a flat 1980s look of Windows Phone.

According to multiple people who have either seen or have been briefed on the upcoming iOS 7, the operating system sports a redesigned user-interface that will be attractive to new iOS users, but potentially unsettling for those who are long-accustomed to the platform…

The new interface is said to be “very, very flat,” according to one source. Another person said that the interface loses all signs of gloss, shine, and skeuomorphism seen across current and past versions of iOS. Another source framed the new OS as having a level of “flatness” approaching recent releases of Microsoft’s Windows Phone “Metro” UI.

Facebook in Talks with Apple to Bring ‘Home’ to iPhone

A version of Facebook Home may be coming to the iPhone, reports Bloomberg. Facebook Home was released for Android devices earlier this month and puts Facebook at the front and center of the phone.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed interest in bringing Home to iOS at a recent questions and answers session. He mentions that bringing it to iOS would be harder since Facebook would have to work with Apple to integrate it with the OS.

It may or may not be Home. We could also just bring some of the design values to the iOS app. That might be how it ends up. Or we could build just the lock screen. Maybe then it’s not called Home, it’s called something else.
