Gnuplot supports various kinds of plots. In 2D, it can draw line, point, dot, box, histogram graphs or vector fields. In 3D, it supports line, point and dot surfaces, with or without hidden line removal. It supports color or grayscale surfaces and maps, even for non-equidistant and non-rectangular 3D data, otherwise it offers data gridding.

Gnuplot supports many different types of terminals: interactive screen terminals (with mouse and hotkey functionality), pen plotters (like hpgl), printers (including postscript and many color devices), and printings to output file as vectorial pseudo-devices like LaTeX, metafont, pdf, svg, or bitmap png. Gnuplot is easily extensible to include new devices.

Fixes:

• Postscript: build failed in 5.4.9 if neither gd nor cairo libraries present

R provides a wide variety of statistical (linear and nonlinear modelling, classical statistical tests, time-series analysis, classification, clustering, ...) and graphical techniques, and is highly extensible. The S language is often the vehicle of choice for research in statistical methodology, and R provides an Open Source route to participation in that activity.

One of R's strengths is the ease with which well-designed publication-quality plots can be produced, including mathematical symbols and formulae where needed. Great care has been taken over the defaults for the minor design choices in graphics, but the user retains full control.

Bug fixes:

• substr(x, n, L) <- cc now works (more) correctly for multibyte UTF-8 strings x when L > nchar(x), thanks to a report and patch by 'Architect 95'.
• contrib.url(character()) now returns 0-length character() as documented, which also avoids spurious warnings from available.packages() et al. in the edge case of an empty vector of repository URLs.
• readChar(., 4e8) no longer fails, thanks to Kodi Arfer's report (PR#18557).
• lapply(, as.data.frame) no longer warns falsely for some base vector components.

Deep Integration of Morphology and Lexica

Click on any word and get a morphological analysis along with the corresponding entries in the LSJ (Greek) or L-S (Latin) lexicon. In the lexicon entries, click on a citation to jump to the context (where possible). It is also possible to perform morphological searches (i.e. to search for all or selected inflected forms of a given word). Morphological data comes from Perseus.

Powerful Searching

You can create groups of texts to search within (and for the TLG, you can select by date, genre, etc.). You can jump from search results right to the context of each passage. You can search for words in any order within a given scope and delimit that scope by punctuation or number of lines.

Efficient Reading

It's easy to open up a given passage of any Greek or Latin text and start reading with the lexicon a click away, or to browse through the dictionaries to look up a word.

This (Java) application is a collage of coding projects which I have written over the past several years for various clients in my work as a bioinformatics consultant. These clients have graciously allowed me to release these works into the public domain as freeware.

QGIS aims to be an easy to use GIS, providing common functions and features. The initial goal was to provide a GIS data viewer. QGIS has reached that point in its evolution and is being used by many for their daily GIS data viewing and editing needs. QGIS supports a number of raster , vector and mesh data formats, with new support easily added using the plugin architecture.

• QGIS 3.32 is a major release of the QGIS Project that brings a significant advancement in geospatial technology to the Open Source World. The developer community has introduced several new features and improvements to leverage the potential of geospatial data.

New Features

DS9 supports advanced features such as multiple frame buffers, mosaic images, tiling, blinking, geometric markers, colormap manipulation, scaling, arbitrary zoom, rotation, pan, and a variety of coordinate systems. DS9 also supports FTP and HTTP access.

The GUI for DS9 is user configurable. GUI elements such as the coordinate display, panner, magnifier, horizontal and vertical graphs, button bar, and colorbar can be configured via menus or the command line.

While other interactive software (e.g., Cabri Geometry, Geometer's Sketchpad) focus on dynamic manipulations of geometrical objects, the idea behind GeoGebra is to connect geometric, algebraic, and numeric representations in an interactive way. You can do constructions with points, vectors, lines, and conic sections, as well as functions, and change them dynamically afterwards. Furthermore, GeoGebra allows you to directly enter and manipulate equations and coordinates. Thus you can easily plot functions, work with sliders to investigate parameters, find symbolic derivatives, and use powerful commands like Root or Sequence.

SingleCrystal lets you simulate simulation electron diffraction patterns and reciprocal lattice sections - which can be compared directly with observed data. The program also lets you display stereographic projections of planes, traces, zones and zone axes. You can rotate crystals with the mouse, or tilt controls, and observe how the diffraction pattern changes. Screen tools allow easy measurement and indexing of reflexions, as well as the display of phase information for scattered beams.

SingleCrystal is designed to work with CrystalMaker, allowing users to visualize crystal structures then with a single menu command, display the diffraction pattern in SingleCrystal. The program can also be used as a stand-alone application, reading from CrystalMaker "crystal" files.

NetLogo lets students open simulations and "play" with them, exploring their behavior under various conditions. It is also an authoring environment which enables students, teachers and curriculum developers to create their own models. NetLogo is simple enough that students and teachers can easily run simulations or even build their own. And, it is advanced enough to serve as a powerful tool for researchers in many fields.

NetLogo has extensive documentation and tutorials. It also comes with a Models Library, which is a large collection of pre-written simulations that can be used and modified. These simulations address many content areas in the natural and social sciences, including biology and medicine, physics and chemistry, mathematics and computer science, and economics and social psychology. Several model-based inquiry curricula using NetLogo are currently under development.

Bug Fixes and Changes

• The models library will correctly display when NetLogo is set to a language other than English.
• The log4j library has been removed from NetLogo. Logging is now configured from the NetLogo preferences dialog. The output is in JSON text file format. See the Logging docs for more information.
