These days, getting a new Mac is more expensive than ever. But right now, Apple’s M6 Mac mini is on sale for $949 right now, which is quite a bit under its $1,099 price tag. That’s quite the discount for a product that’s only been around for a short while.

Besides the incredible M6 processor and the ability to boost your productivity by adding multiple monitors, you should know the new Mac mini also has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The M6’s new design includes a Neural Accelerator in each GPU core and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine, so Siri AI and graphical-intensive apps will be equally speedy.

The beautiful thing about the new M6 Mac mini is that it tucks under your monitor and gives you your desk back. Microsoft is clearly worried about Apple. The marketing for the company’s new Surface Laptop Ultra directly calls out the MacBook Pro, and Microsoft is even encouraging MacBooks for trade-ins.

Now that the Surface Laptop Ultra has started shipping, early reviews of the laptop have posted, including one from our sister publication PCWorld. Give that review a read when you can, but PCWorld’s review makes no MacBook Pro comparisons. And that’s what we’re here for! We’re going to take a look at some of the benchmark results and see how Microsoft’s laptop compares to Apple’s MacBooks.

Geekbench 7

Geekbench 7 is an overall, general-purpose performance benchmark, and in Single-core CPU testing, the Nvidia RTX Spark N1X 20-core CPU chip in the Surface laptop ranks below that of the two-year-old A18 Pro chip in the MacBook Neo. In Multi-core CPU testing, the Nvidia chip beat Apple’s M5, but is 21 percent slower than the 15-core M5 Pro. As you can see in the chart, the M5 Max has a sizable lead over the RTX Spark.

Cinebench 2024 is more media-focused, rendering an image using Maxon’s Redshift engine. In Single-Core CPU performance, the Nvidia chip is even slower than Apple’s A18 Pro-surprising that a chip made for a mobile phone is faster. In Multi-Core CPU benchmarks, the Nvidia chip still lags behind the M5 Pro.

As far as battery life, PCWorld couldn’t run the same test we do (playing a 4K video saved to the laptop’s SSD until the battery runs out). However, their testing, which involved streaming a 4K YouTube video, lasted about 8 hours, a far cry from the 20 hours we got in our tests.

One last thing to note about the 15-inch Surface Laptop Ultra is its price. The model PCWorld tested costs $3,699 and has an Nvidia RTX Spark N1X 20-core CPU, a 6,144-core GPU (Nvidia counts cores differently than Apple), 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. For comparison, Apple sells the 16-inch MacBook Pro with an M5 Pro 18-core CPU, a 20-core GPU, 48GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD for $3,599. So for $100 less, you can get an M5 Pro MacBook Pro that’s much faster in general use than Microsoft’s laptop. The 14-inch model with the same specs is $3,299, $300 cheaper than the Surface Laptop Ultra.

Before you get all excited, let’s be fair to Microsoft, they promote the Surface Laptop Ultra as “built for local AI,” and we don’t run the same AI benchmarks as PCWorld, so we’ll hold off on judgment in the AI arena. However, the M5 Pro and Max chips are the last of this chip design that Apple will produce. With the M7 due next year, Apple is reportedly focusing on AI performance, which will but a greater focus on the things Microsoft is touting. So, look out.

But as far as general-purpose productivity goes, Apple doesn’t really have anything to worry about–we said that even before we saw these results.

But sometimes a more portable solution makes sense when the MacBook’s own screen simply isn’t large enough. Get ready for some real competition Logitech because there’s a new Mac mouse in town that might nibble away at your market share to become the new big cheese.

BenQ has long been the maker of many of the best monitors for Mac that have passed through the Macworld Lab. Its Zowie-branded mice, however, haven’t troubled our Best Mac Mice roundup as most have been aimed at Windows users with dedicated USB dongles that need to be plugged into a computer to link with the mouse, and Mac users prefer a straighter, less fussy Bluetooth connection.

Its new INFTYLAB brand is aimed at Mac users, with the six-button M Mouse in the lead and new products on the way including a lightbar engineered for Apple’s iMac. It even comes in only white, which for a long time was the only color that Apple made its mice, after the boxy Beige period, of course.

Which Mac trackpad gestures does the M Mouse support?

Its real claim to a close and genuine relationship with the Mac is its dedicated INFTYLAB Glide software that can map trackpad and Multi-Touch gestures to the mouse’s shortcut buttons that should make mouse scrolling feel more natural to us.

You can customize scroll modes and map shortcut buttons; for example, making the scroll direction match your Mac trackpad. Choose “Natural” in the Glide desktop app for traditional mouse scrolling, where moving the mouse’s top scroll wheel down pulls the page content down with your fingers—mimicking the direct, touch-like feel of a MacBook trackpad. Or pick “Standard”, where moving the mouse wheel down pushes the page content up like a traditional PC mouse wheel.

If you are expecting a bunch of other Mac trackpad gestures such as pinch-to-zoom, I’m afraid that’s it. But the default Quick Pie’s options (see below) are kinda similar to swiping in the cardinal directions on the trackpad.

The Left Space and Right Space commands reference the different desktop spaces that you can use in macOS. For instance, you have a video playing in full screen but want to check another browser that was open before the video was played. You can swipe into the other spaces to see that page and then swipe back instead of minimizing the video. Essentially, it swaps you between the different virtual desktops that you may be using. Logitech has similar functions in its software for the MX Master 4 mouse.

You can set the horizontal scroll wheel for zooming. It is a little jumpy when zooming in on pages in Safari, but it performs better on RAW photos—although still less than the standard MacBook’s trackpad zoom’s smoothness. The zooming sensitivity setting is not adjustable in the Glide software.

Even Apple’s ambidextrous Magic Mouse that is a hybrid of a touchpad and a traditional mouse is so far the only traditional mouse that supports touch-sensitive top-surface gestures, such as one-finger scrolling, swiping between pages, and double-tapping for Mission Control or Smart Zoom. Like the M Mouse, it doesn’t support full four-finger or pinch-to-zoom trackpad gestures.

If you want seamless trackpad gestures, you need to drop your mouse habit and buy the Apple Magic Trackpad that has a glass surface to give you fully native macOS multi-touch capabilities (pinch-to-zoom, rotate, four-finger swipes, and Mission Control).

How customizable are the M Mouse’s buttons and shortcuts?

You can customize the other buttons of the M Mouse. By default, the well-placed side-mounted horizontal scroll wheel has no click function, but it can be set to Forward/Next, while the side button behind it can be set to Previous/Back.

The top button is set to take a screenshot but can also be set to Show/Hide the desktop, or Zoom. I found myself accidentally taking screenshots with the loud camera shutter click noise adding to my frustration, so I moved away from the default command. You can set different screen-capture options, such as Capture screen/area/window and Copy screen/area.

Another button option is called Quick Pie, which is a pop-up radial (circular) quick-access menu that appears next to your cursor when assigned to and pressed on the designated mouse button. Moving the cursor or clicking in a specific radial direction triggers the corresponding shortcut or command. Once you get the hang of it, it should be faster than using traditional linear drop-down menus.

Your settings are saved to the mouse, so you can use it on any Mac device once paired.

The eight-button Logitech MX Master 4 is also highly customizable with its own Logi Options+ software, including an Action Ring rather like BenQ’s Quick Pie. Read our Logitech MX Master 4 review.

How does the M Mouse connect to Mac?

Bluetooth supports multiple paired devices, while the 2.4GHz wireless option provides a low-latency alternative through the included USB-C receiver—this comes with a USB-A adapter for older ports, but will be unnecessary for most Mac users. A USB-C wired connection is available, too, and charges the built-in 500mAh battery while you work.

The charging port is positioned at the front of the mouse rather than underneath as it is rather ridiculously on the Apple Magic Mouse. BenQ quotes battery life of up to 90 days, although actual endurance will depend on usage and settings.

How does the M Mouse feel in hand?

At 85g, the M Mouse is relatively light, measuring 4.5 x 2.9 x 1.6 inches (115 x 72.5 x 41.5mm). It’s specifically designed for small-to-medium hands, so larger-handed users should consider its compact dimensions before buying and may prefer Logitech’s MX Master mouse.

The Apple Magic Mouse weighs 99g, and the Logitech MX Master 4 is half as heavy again at 150g. In between M Mouse and Apple Mouse, the Satechi Slim EX Wireless Mouse weighs in at 90g.

The M Mouse feels comfortable in hand—if you’re right-handed, of course. Sorry, lefties. Its central arc follows the hand’s natural resting curve, while contoured surfaces and side grooves support the palm, thumb and ring finger. The idea is that your hand can shift between palm, claw and fingertip grips as fatigue builds, rather than being locked into one position. BenQ says the design is informed by “ultrasonic muscle-fatigue testing”, although individual comfort will depend on your hand size and working habits.

The equally rightie-only MX Master is equally ergonomically engineered, and has a larger side horizontal scroll wheel if you have bigger thumbs.

How precise is the mouse vs Apple and Logitech?

The optical sensor offers adjustable sensitivity from 400 to 6,000dpi, with smart DPI (dots per inch) adjustment for different tasks.

The Logitech MX Master 4 has a maximum 8,000dpi, but most users are unlikely to notice much difference in everyday use.

Apple doesn’t officially publish an official DPI specification for its Magic Mouse, but benchmark databases typically estimate the Magic Mouse sensor at between 1,000 and 1,300dpi—making it unsuitable for fast-paced gaming or tasks requiring rapid precision, but fine for general productivity.

Is the INFTYLAB M Mouse worth the upgrade?

At $119.99 / £89.99, the M Mouse PS01 costs considerably more than a basic wireless mouse such as one of the $29.99 / £29.99 Satechi mice. Its appeal rests on a more specific promise: keeping some of the gestures and scrolling Mac users appreciate while adding the comfort, precision and physical controls of a mouse compared to a trackpad.

Logitech’s MX Master 4 mouse is similarly priced at $119.99 / £119.99.

Apple’s Magic Mouse is cheaper at $79.99 / £79.99, but is less customizable. The Magic Trackpad costs $129.99 / £129.99.

Which Mac mouse should you buy?

• INFTYLAB M Mouse: Best for right-handed Mac users who want a compact, ergonomic mouse with customisable buttons, scrolling controls and some trackpad-like functionality.
• Apple Magic Mouse: Best for users who prefer touch-sensitive surface gestures, including swiping between pages and scrolling, rather than physical shortcut buttons.
• Apple Magic Trackpad: Best for users who want the full Mac trackpad experience, including pinch-to-zoom, multi-finger swipes and Mission Control.

Should you buy the INFTYLAB/BenQ M Mouse?

The INFTYLAB M Mouse is an interesting alternative to Apple’s Magic Mouse for right-handed Mac users who want a compact, comfortable mouse with programmable controls and some trackpad-like functionality. It’s particularly appealing for those who find prolonged trackpad use uncomfortable, miss trackpad-style scrolling when using a mouse, or frequently switch between creative applications and everyday productivity tools.

However, its trackpad-like features don’t offer the full Multi-Touch experience. If gestures such as pinch-to-zoom and multi-finger swipes are a priority, Apple’s Magic Trackpad is the better choice. Users with larger hands may also prefer Logitech’s MX Master 4.

Do you need a mouse mat?

No, like all modern optical mice you can use pretty much any smooth surface, but BenQ has something that might tempt you: the Flow Desk Mat ($34.99 / £34.99).

Measuring 31.5 x 15.8 inches (800 x 400mm) with a thickness of 0.1 inch (2.5mm), the Flow Desk Mat is a low-resistance faux-leather surface that BenQ says makes M Mouse glide even smoother. A rubber backing increases the mat’s stability on desktops.

If you have the space it’s a mousing luxury that includes handy clips to route cables as you want them to keep your desk organized.

If feels like it’s been a month since Apple unveiled its first folding phone, the iPhone Duo, and, well, it has. Announced on September 9 at the “Surprise and Shine” event, it finally goes up for pre-order this morning at 8 am ET before hitting shelves next Friday.

If you want one, however, you’re going to have to act fast. Not since the iPhone X has a phone been more anticipated, and even Apple is warning users that “demand will be high” for the new phone, and we’ve been reading reports about production constraints for weeks. So we expect to see delivery dates slipping into December very quickly.

There are two colors to choose from (Night Sky and Star White) and four storage configurations with the following prices:

The point of this live blog is simple: We’re going to track all colors and configurations in the U.S. and U.K. Apple stores (and other retailers) to tell you how quick ship dates start slipping, which colors and configurations are available, and what you can still get before 2027. We’ll try to update every few minutes, but it’s the first time we’re trying this, so bear with us.

Apple’s first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, is available to preorder today, Friday, October 16, ahead of its October 23 release date. Preorders open at 5 a.m. Pacific / 8 a.m. Eastern / 1 p.m. BST through Apple’s website and the Apple Store app. Prices start at $1,999/£1,999, with four storage options and two colors.

The Duo opens like a book from a compact 5.4-inch phone into a much larger 7.6-inch device. Apple describes the internal screen as its largest-ever iPhone display, with 50 percent more screen area than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, while the outer display provides more than 90 percent of the screen area of an iPhone 18 Pro.

The biggest change is obviously the folding design, but Apple has done more than simply add a hinge. The iPhone Duo will ship with iOS 27.1, which adapts to different positions and orientations with fold-specific interface and multitasking features. These include Split View, hands-free FaceTime and video, StandBy without charging, and layouts that move seamlessly between the two screens. Apple Pencil USB-C support is also coming later in 2026.

The other major changes are the 7.6-inch nano-texture inner display, Touch ID replacing Face ID, an A20 Pro processor with vapor-chamber cooling, and a dual-battery system designed around the two halves of the phone. Apple has also introduced camera features that exploit the second screen, including Duo Preview, Smart Take, Kid Cue and Duo FaceTime.

Much of the pre-launch reporting proved accurate: the Duo name, book-style design, roughly 7.7- and 5.4-inch screens, Touch ID, two 48MP rear cameras, two front-facing cameras, A20 Pro, C2 modem, MagSafe and the white/dark-blue colours were all anticipated.

iPhone Duo cameras: What cameras does it have?

The Duo has a 48MP Dual Fusion camera system, comprising:

The Duo does not have variable aperture. Variable aperture is exclusive to the 48MP Fusion Main camera in the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.

iPhone Duo price: How much does it cost?

The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 in the U.S. and £1,999 in the U.K. for 256GB.

The 256GB starting capacity means Apple has not created an unusually low-storage entry model simply to make the headline price look lower.

When you unbox your HomeView and set it up, you’ll have a curated selection of 14 apps available to you ( 15 if you consider Settings an app). Compared to the millions available on your iPhone, that’s not a lot, and there’s no app store for downloading more. Worse, if you’re not entirely all in on the Apple ecosystem—maybe you use Spotify or Audible—there’s isn’t a clear way to load your favorite third-party apps onto it. With no App Store, HomeView seems like it might be a very limited device.

But Apple has a rather clever solution. Rather than build yet another platform for developers to support and maintain, it is leveraging CarPlay to provide access to some third-party apps, directly from your iPhone, with no install required. But we haven’t seen what that looks like or how it works, and we have more questions than answers.

The apps you get

Apple’s tech specs page for the HomeView lists all the apps that it comes with, along with four additional Apple apps that are “Available from iPhone.”

Though it is not explicitly stated, it seems that the four apps available from your iPhone all operate via their CarPlay interface. (The giveaway is AudioBooks, which is Books on all other devices.) All those apps now have CarPlay support, mostly for audio experiences. For example, you can’t read e-books with Books or news articles with News, but you can listen to audiobooks or listen to news briefs.

CarPlay on your desk

What if you use Spotify for music or podcasts? Or Overcast? Or Audible for audiobooks? What if you want to watch a YouTube video or Netflix?

Apple has a solution for this, and it’s kind of clever. Existing audio and video apps that support CarPlay will automatically be available on HomeView, without the developer needing to do anything at all. If a developer doesn’t want their app to appear on Apple’s smart hub, they can disallow it using the disfavoredLocations function, but otherwise, all music, podcast, audiobook, and video apps that support CarPlay will work on your HomeView streaming from your iPhone just as they would if you were in a car.

Apple’s CarPlay developer site has already been updated to mention how CarPlay audio and video apps work with HomeView.

This is a great idea. The simplified CarPlay interface that apps use is more appropriate for this kind of device, which is meant for simple consumption and not for editing your next great playlist. And developers can support both cars and HomeView all at once in the apps they already publish to the App Store. If they already support CarPlay, they don’t even have to update their app.

What about other CarPlay apps?

Apple specifically mentions that audio and video apps with CarPlay support will be available on HomeView. That means you almost certainly won’t get access to Waze, Google Maps, WhatsApp, or Carrot Weather, and other navigation and utilities that have CarPlay experiences.

While you probably won’t be able to use those apps, you might be able to see their widgets on your HomeView home screen. Apple’s developer agreement section 6.4 covers CarPlay and HomeView. Section 6.4.1 specifically mentions CarPlay widgets being available on HomeView, without the caveat of it being in specific audio or video categories. Section 6.4.2 mentions entire CarPlay applications, and it does say “in a category identified by Apple,” so that’s probably those audio and video apps.

So HomeView should provide access to audio and video apps just as a car that supports CarPlay would—streaming directly from your iPhone, with all your playlists and preferences and such intact. And it might even show widgets for other CarPlay apps on the HomeView home screen. This all seems like a very good way to have a reasonable selection of third-party app support, right out of the box, without tasking developers to support a new platform, and in a way that easily deals with the multi-user aspect of HomeView.

When you’re recognized, HomeView will show your iPhone’s content, including your own CarPlay audio and video apps and such, with your own playlists and progress. When someone else is using it, they will see their own iPhone content, including their own CarPlay apps, playlists, etc.

But how does it work?

Unfortunately, Apple didn’t really demonstrate how any of this actually works, either in its promo videos or in the live demos at its media experience. So we’re left wondering what this looks like, how fast it is, and what features are or are not there.

HomeView has a simple app drawer of sorts. Do the CarPlay-enabled audio and video apps from your iPhone just show up there? And when you tap on them, do you just get a CarPlay interface? Or do you access them some other way? And what about CarPlay widgets? Is that for all CarPlay apps, just audio and video apps, or just Apple apps?

What video apps are going to be available at launch? Apple only just added CarPlay support for video apps in iOS 27 (while your car is parked), but developers haven’t really rushed to support it other than Apple. Will YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, Disney+, or other popular streaming services update their apps to support CarPlay now that they have an even bigger incentive to?

And what exactly qualifies as an audio or video app? For example, the MLB app is obviously a sports app, but its CarPlay experience is centered around listening to games and viewing scores. Will you get native support for an app like that, or do you have to use it on your iPhone and then AirPlay the audio stream to the HomeView?

The fallback scenario for all of these things is to either start content on your iPhone and then send it to your HomeView with AirPlay, or to use the Safari browser to log in to the service on the web. But those are impractical and limited options. Some streaming apps, most notably Netflix, don’t even support AirPlay, and there are plenty of services that don’t have a decent web experience (or any at all).

With almost a month to go before the HomeView hits store shelves, we will hopefully get to see a clear demonstration of how this CarPlay integration with third-party apps really works. But from what we already know, it’s a very smart system.

For those who need a premium small-screen tablet, the iPad mini is a popular choice. But should you buy one now, or should you wait to see what Apple has in store for the next model?

Most buyers should wait if they can. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple plans to announce the next iPad mini on October 27, with an OLED display and A20 Pro chip expected.

Even more recent reporting points to an Apple media experience in Los Angeles on October 28. This experience doesn’t necessarily mean that Apple has moved the announcement back a day, it could allow journalists hands-on time with products announced on October 27. The iPad mini is among the rumored products, but it’s inclusion is unconfirmed.

You may have seen the headlines by now.

“Apple and Meta bury the hatchet — for AI“

None of these are exactly false, but you’d be forgiven for thinking that Meta’s popular new Muse agent will now run locally on your Mac. It will not. There’s a Muse app for Mac and iOS (and the web) but the actual agent itself and all the models it uses run on Meta’s servers in the cloud.

What these stories are referring to is the new open-weights model that Meta just released called Muse Spark Open, compared to Meta’s current generation of AI stuff, which is simply called “Muse.” Meta says Spark Open has the most capable open-weights model so far (from the U.S.). However, it’s not a competitor for the frontier closed models such as GPT-6 Astra or Claude Opus 5.5; that would be Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, which are much bigger models that run only in the cloud.

Muse Spark is of the same generation, but it’s a smaller, lightweight, fast-response model made to be comparatively inexpensive. And yes, it will run natively on a Mac! Well, two Macs. But not your Macs.

Apple has a blog post about optimizing Muse Spark Open and two other models to run natively on Apple Silicon Macs. It’s interesting stuff, but it’s worth noting that the other two models (Mistral Medium 3.5 and Qwen 3.8) are the only ones that can run on a single Mac Studio.

Muse Spark Open would require a whopping 1.6 terabytes of RAM in its native precision (BF16) just for the 800+ billion parameters alone. So Apple worked with Meta to optimize and tune it, and if you run it at a quantized 4-bit precision (NVFP4) you can get the memory requirement all the way down to… 493GB. That’s just for the model. There’s other overhead involved in actually running it and for macOS itself, so a single Mac Studio with 512GB of RAM can’t run it. I’ll remind you that the 512GB Mac Studio with M5 Ultra is not even out yet, and is expected to cost at least $15,000 and probably quite a bit more.

You need two Mac Studios with 512GB of RAM to run Muse Spark Open, connected via their Thunderbolt ports and running the new MLX framework for distributed computing over multiple Macs. You might get away with three Mac Studios with 256GB, Apple doesn’t say.

So yeah, you can run the latest open-weights model from Meta “right from your desk” as Apple says, provided your desk has over $30,000 of Mac Studio hardware on it.

No, you are not able to run the Muse agent locally on your Mac. You are not able to run the latest and best frontier LLM models from Meta (Muse Wonder) on your Mac. You can only run the latest and best open weights model on at least two very expensive and high-end Macs. For all but a small subset of researchers, you’d be much better off paying to run it on a cloud server.

If there’s a story here for regular consumers, it’s this: Apple is very serious about being the go-to hardware for AI researchers running local models, and that might potentially pay off in the form of well-optimized AI software meant for everyday people with Apple Silicon.

Apple announced HomeView, HomePod mini 2, a new Apple TV 4K and the Apple Home Collection at its “Welcome Home” launch on October 13, 2026. But that will not be its final announcements this month.

Apple has reportedly invited selected media to another product launch experience, this time in Los Angeles on Wednesday October 28. That new date is a day after the date reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who initially reported that another launch was planned for October 27. The product launch could still take place on the 27 October though.

Apple is expected to reveal a touchscreen MacBooks, an M6 14-inch MacBook Pro, an M6 iMac and an OLED iPad mini and these are likely to be the products being showcased at the media event.

Apple typically has four main event windows each year: a spring event, WWDC in June, the iPhone event in September, and sometimes a further event in October. The company rarely confirms dates far in advance, and there’s no guarantee it will hold an event in every window. Apple has held four events so far in 2026, including its March and October hands-on Experiences. On March 4, the company invited select media to hands-on “experiences” in multiple locations. In the run-up to that date, Apple launched several products via press release, including the iPhone 17e, M4 iPad Air, and M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro, M5 MacBook Air and the MacBook Neo.

The second event was WWDC, which began with a keynote on June 8. At the WWDC keynote Apple outlined the upcoming changes to its operating systems, including iOS 27 and macOS 27 Golden Gate.

In August Apple issued press releases to announce the new Mac mini and Mac Studio.

At the September 9 event Apple unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, a foldable iPhone Duo, a new Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, and AirPods 5.

Apple’s October 13 “Welcome Home” announcements included HomeView, a new smart-home display with a 7-inch touchscreen; HomePod mini 2; a fourth-generation Apple TV 4K with an updated Siri Remote; and the Apple Home Collection, a range of cameras, doorbells, locks, and thermostats developed with accessory partners.

The touchscreen MacBook is reportedly going to be a reality very soon (October 28, apparently), and one of the questions about the new way to interface with the Mac is how macOS will accommodate our fingers. According to some clues in the latest beta, we can get an idea of what Apple is planning.

A post by itspdfu points out that Safari in the macOS beta has new UI elements designed for touch input. When rearranging tabs, the tab “lifts” and then enlarges as you drag it to the new location, then goes back to its original size when you drop it. Tabs don’t currently operate like this when you click and drag using a mouse or trackpad.

Also, you can tap and hold a tab to open the context menu, but it doesn’t show an Ask Siri option as it does with a mouse or trackpad–I’m not sure why Apple removed it. It’s also hard to tell from the screen capture whether the contextual menu options are slightly larger to make them easier to tap.

But it’s clear that Apple is rethinking how we interact with macOS ahead of a big interface chance. We expect the new MacBook will ship with macOS 27.2 preinstalled when it arrives.
