Lenny’s produces the real Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and east coast deli experience and you can probably walk there from the Madison at Schilling. They do have one significant issue — the place always has a line of customers waiting.

This is a deli committed to BIG sandwiches as well. Their slogan is “More Food, More Taste, More Personality.” A sandwich that is too tall for your mouth can be expected.

They also serve the standard cold cut combos, Italian and other subs you’ve grown accustomed to at your typical neighborhood sub shop, but they don’t skimp on the meat, cheese and veggies. When you’re finished, they clean
the tables. Don’t worry about your trash.

Take home some Hot Pepper Relish

Lenny’s Hot Pepper Relish is produced locally and adds some serious spice to your favorite foods. Use on your sandwiches, add to pasta or salads, or mix with dips and appetizers.

Make your plans to attend Memphis in May today.

Whether you’re a longtime resident of the Collierville area or a new arrival, you understand that Memphis in May is a very big deal and not to be missed. This is a big event attended by thousands from across the country so get prepared if you plan to make the journey from Madison at Schilling.

The Memphis in May event is comprised of the three-day Beale Street Music Festival; the Salute to the Philippines; the famous World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest; the Sunset Symphony and the international Music Program.

Break in those new running shoes at the Dash for Dad.

Attention runners: grab your shoes, lace’em on tight and come out for the Dash for Dads Half Marathon and 5k on Saturday, April 28! The starting line is located within the University of Memphis district alliance. It will take 25-minutes to drive there from your Madison at Schilling Apartment.

The race is part of the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge®, America’s Premier Men’s Health Event Series, taking place in 27 cities in 2012. All of the races benefit Zero — The Project to End Prostate Cancer.

ZERO works to eradicate prostate cancer and sees a future where all men with prostate cancer will be cured or manage their illness with good quality of life and the support they need. To learn more about ZERO, please visit their website at www.zerocancer.org.

What better way to celebrate Mexican heritage than by stopping in at a few of Collierville Mexican restaurants? The Madison at Schilling has many nearby Mexican restaurants for you to visit this Cinco de Mayo.

El Porton: The scent of the meals being served on the patio will draw you in to this authentic restaurant. Be careful, if you go for lunch and the weather is nice you could spend all day on the patio. Everything is prepared fresh daily, with healthy ingredients.  It’s less than one mile away from your apartment.

Booya’s Burrito Beach: If a fish taco suits your tastes, don’t pass up Booya’s. Booya’s food lives somewhere between Tex-Mex and Caribbean and the atmosphere is a mix of sports bar and restaurant, but we’re here for the fish taco. They offer the traditional Baja Mexico style either fried or grilled. You can also order Chipotle Shrimp taco. This is not a traditional Mexican haunt, but the customers are raving about this dish.

La Perla Tapatia: Maybe Collierville’s best kept secret is La Perla Tapatia. The service is lightning fast, the prices are low and YES the food is ridiculously good. Penny In His U of M days (formerly MSU)

supporters of the University will be able to help commemorate the campus’ anniversary with a few namely events.

One of them specifically, includes a grand-celebrity event that honors one of NBA’s most ALL-STAR player in the game! On April 17th 2012, U of M will honor Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway! Hardaway grew up in the Memphis area and also played basketball for U of M before moving on to the NBA!

As a part of the Centennial Celebration, honorees and exceptional alumni will be added to the Hall of Fame throughout. Mark your calendars to join us for this historic event, the proceeds of which will go to establish the Alumni Chapter’s Centennial Scholarship. Fair On The Square, is a product of Collierville–an event put on traditionally by the Twentieth Century Club here in town! Every year, the women’s civic group rallies together this big fairgrounds of activities, fun & entertainment for residents, provided by fundraising and local sponsors.

    The “Fair” offers a wide variety of unique handcrafts, needle and woodcrafts, sculptures, baskets, pottery, ceramics and paintings, original jewelry, garden items, clothing and floral designs.  Entertainment on the Stage at the Train Depot includes bands, dancers, singers & music for all ages.  There are games, face painting, rock climbing, a petting zoo, mechanical bull and much more
