A modder going by SupraGSX has released an unofficial Windows XP driver on GitHub that adds support for NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 10-series “Pascal” graphics cards, including the TITAN Xp. Called Forceware 382.69, it is a patched version of NVIDIA’s 368.81 driver from July 2016 and only works on 32-bit Windows XP. The timing is a bit funny, since NVIDIA ended regular driver support for Pascal last year and later dropped the cards from its 590 driver branch. However, Forceware’s latest release covers the GTX 1060, GTX 1070, GTX 1070 Ti, GTX 1080, GTX 1080 Ti, TITAN X (Pascal) and TITAN Xp, along with some GTX 900-series and Quadro cards. The game came out on October 2 and peaked at over 52,000 concurrent Steam players a day later, according to SteamDB. That is nearly four times the 13,758 that Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown managed in 2019, while Assault Horizon only reached 3,795. It also apparently topped Steam’s global top sellers chart. That’s certainly not bad for a fairly niche series that Bandai Namco revived more than seven years after the last mainline game. Read More

Intel’s “new” four-digit Core Ultra 4000 naming apparently isn’t limited to desktop chips. Prominent leaker Jaykihn says on X that “Nova Lake-HX” laptop processors will use the same four-number format, while H-series and suffix-less mobile chips continue with the three-digit naming of the previous generation. The clarification follows a leaked list of seven “Nova Lake-S” desktop processors that showed names like Core Ultra 9 4970K BFC and Core Ultra 7 4870K BFC. In that list, the BFC suffix seems to mark the models with bLLC (big last-level cache). As for the mobile versions, HX chips have traditionally been BGA versions of Intel’s desktop silicon, so it looks like Intel is grouping them with Nova Lake-S instead of the other laptop chips. Those would presumably fall under Core Ultra 400, although Jaykihn didn’t name the series. Read More
